Then he said to him, “Follow me!” Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?”) When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.”

This week we are looking at the Promise that God's Words Have Purpose. The Promise is found in Isaiah 55:10-11 which says, “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
God's Promise: Every word He speaks to you is spoken on purpose.
This week we are looking at the Promise that God Speaks Only the Truth. Yesterday we looked at the impact of the promise when it is received and applied to our life. Today we are closing the week with the Implication to further apply the promise to your life this weekend.
2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
God's Promise: He has entrusted His words of truth to you.
This week we are looking at the Promise that God Speaks Only the Truth. Yesterday we looked at My Identity and how the promise relates to our position as a child of God. Today we are looking at the Impact of the promise when it is received and applied to our life.
1 Kings 8:56-61, “Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses. May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us. May he turn our hearts to him, to walk in obedience to him and keep the commands, decrees and laws he gave our ancestors. And may these words of mine, which I have prayed before the LORD, be near to the LORD our God day and night, that he may uphold the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel according to each day’s need, so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God and that there is no other. And may your hearts be fully committed to the LORD our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time.”
God's Promise: Time only makes God's truthfulness easier to see.
This week we are looking at the Promise that God Speaks Only the Truth. Yesterday we looked into God’s Identity and how His character is the basis for the promise. Today we are going to look at My Identity and how the promise relates to our position as a child of God.
2 Samuel 7:27-29 which says, “LORD Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you.’ So your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you. Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant. Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, Sovereign LORD, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed forever.”
God's Promise: God would never tell you anything that is not the truth.
This week we are looking at the Promise that God Speaks Only the Truth. Yesterday we started off with the promise and today we are looking at God’s Identity and showing you how His character is the basis for that promise.
John 14:6, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
God's Promise: If He is filling your heart, He will always speak the truth.
This week we are looking at the Promise that God Speaks Only the Truth.
John 17:17, “Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you.”
God’s Promise: He sees you as holy if His truth has set you free.
