March Arts Month comes to a close with our guest Ty Miller! He tells us all kinds of stories - from the people he met working in radio, to the things he saw working as a DJ in nightclubs, to finding a passion in voiceover work.
The one...the only...Gloria Bennett! Or as Miranda likes to call her - Mom. This episode starts off with Gloria giving us some of her musical theatre and teaching background. Our friend Mirai Booth-Ong joined us today to talk about community theatre and all the other awesome projects she works on! We talk about how we all met doing The Sound of Music together, how her acting and choreographing career led to her directing full productions, and how she managed to record audio books and other voice over projects while touring in a play.
We have our good friend Alex Brown with us today! She co-creates a narrative podcast, writes YA novels, and is a showrunner's assistant for Supernatural. We talk a lot about the process writers go through to get their work out there and we were sweating just thinking about it! (It's also really hot in our recording room. Maybe that's it.)
To start off March Arts Month, we ask Christopher Hernandez of Nice Dude Productions about his filmmaking, screenwriting, and YouTubing experiences! He talks about the difference between passion projects and mercenary gigs, how he got started making movies when he was 6, and what it was like to go to school for screenwriting.
