Welcome everyone, to Season 3, Episode 8 . 5 of #DefenderCast!

In this episode, we are also proud to present Ben Fish (Co-Owner & Executive Director) at NewPlace Associates. Unfortunately, Joesph Garner, also Co-Owner & Director at NewPlace, was unable to make the Podcast so, Ben had to go at it solo.

"NewPlace are a dynamic team of property strategists driven by an ambition to deliver and exceed client expectations. We offer fully-integrated acquisition, design and construction services that reflect the preferences, requirements and vision of each project."

Following a successful stint working with several high-end developers in Chelsea, Kensington and Fulham, Ben made a successful transition into main contracting for high net worth private clients in Surrey.

Inevitably, Ben was headhunted by a Central London based company to spearhead their move into developments in the increasingly popular areas of Islington and South East London. The successful delivery of major development schemes kept Ben busy from 2014 until late 2017 when he joined up with long term friend and business associate Joe Garner to start New Place.

Ben brings with him a wealth of construction knowledge, an eye for perfect delivery and a quest to constantly exceed client expectations.

Duncan and Nick speak to Ben about; NewPlace Associates, time involved in closing deals, working closely with Croydon's Housing Association and his transition into the industry. The trio also speak about, growth in the industry and working in London vs. working outside of London.

"We were fortunate enough to go from £6 million to £10 million in the year after I joined."

...And we are back with a BANG! Welcome everyone, to Season 3 of #DefenderCast!

To begin with, we are proud to announce that Season 3 of #DefenderCast will be sponsored by TAB. in collaboration with Bridging & Commercial Magazine. Also, all of the episodes in the upcoming season have been recorded LIVE at The Finance Professional Show in Olympia, London on Wednesday 6th November 2019.

Season 3 will be hosted by Duncan Kreeger, Founder of TAB. and will also feature co-hosts Nick Russell of TAB. Lending and Beth Fisher of B&C Magazine.

The first episode of the season features the amazing, Beth Fisher of B&C Magazine. In this episode, we are also proud to present Michael Dean of Avamore Capital.

Michael is an award-winning bridging and development lender with over 14 years of property investment and development experience, specialising in the residential and office sectors. In 2009, Michael joined Doughty Hanson & Co, working for their Real Estate funds and during his spell at DHC, Michael was involved in over £350m of financing and refinancing of investment and development property.

In 2015, Michael co-founded Avamore Capital and currently acts as a Principle of the firm. "Avamore Capital initially started as the investment vehicle of a couple of family offices. We have now evolved the business into an institutionally backed bridging development lender focusing on 3 core areas; larger scale conversion projects (up to £5 million loan tickets), signature finish exits and also dead exits."

Duncan and Beth both speak to Michael about the current greatest influences on the sector, what Avamore Capital's competitive edge is and also if the bridging market is built solely on trust and if 'trust' can be classified as a type of "USP".

Lee and Duncan are long term friends who's careers have followed very similar paths, underpinned by hard work, being strong willed and having a determination to not let failures or bumps in the road get in their way.

The interview focuses on the plotted history of Lee's business and investment adventures and centers around Lee's beliefs of investing in people and very much seeing the people behind the investment opportunities.

From nightclubs to recruitment company investments with friend of Lee and TAB Tom Wilkinson of http://www.wilkinsonpartners.com/ who featured in an earlier Vlog for TAB check it out here https://youtu.be/yM4m-k_HRkE

DEFENDERCAST - Episode 1 - What is #defendercast

I have finally done it. Here is Episode 1 of #defendercast

This is extremely rough. My editing skills have proven to be woeful but to be honest I am really happy to have recorded and produced my very first podcast. I sincerely hope you enjoy it.

This us unedited! Hopefuly (if you get passed the first 5 mins of waffle) you will hear that I start to improve and grow into my new role as podcast host.

You will notice some very strange videos and pictures on this youtube version of the podcast. Im really just playing around with what I can and cant do moving forward. I appreciate your patience with this.

All feedback required asap as I am constantly trying to improve. Unfortunately the first 5 mins is a little poor and whilst I fumble around but then it starts to flow better.
