The Fourth Ta'veren reviews Episode One of The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime. As avid readers of the book series, we discuss how the books compare to the show. There are lots we liked about the show and there are things that we don't. We aren't prepared for what's coming!! Welcome to our group therapy session as we discuss this first episode, Leavetaking. Inevitably we compare the series to the books, but strive to find the good of both and fairly criticize what we like and don't like.

In September 2019, Billy Zane attended Salt Lake FanX, aka Salt Lake Comic Con, and The Fourth Ta'veren was there to ask him directly what he thought of his role in Winter Dragon, the hastily produced Prologue of Book One - The Eye of the World in the Wheel of Time series.  What Billy Zane responded with was astounding! He gave a brief overview of how he ended up being involved, but then confirmed that he will be reprising his role and will be in Season Two of the Amazon Prime Wheel of Time series! This has not been announced by anyone else (at least as of September 2019) and has not been confirmed by Amazon WoT up to this point either. Listen as Marc and I break down what that means and which version of Ishamael he could be playing?

Contains audio recorded LIVE, in person at a Billy Zane panel at FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention on Sept 6th, 2019. I asked Billy Zane about his Winter Dragon performance and he responded that he was in talks to reprise his role as Ishamael, or is it Elan Morin Tedronai?  A follow up question asked by Michael Smith (@msmith159 on Twitter) and he again reiterated his involvement. Personally, I'd like to see Billy Zane involved in some form as an actor in the Wheel of Time show, but that remains to be seen. For what it's worth, Rafe Judkins has disputed the claim that Billy Zane will be reprising his role as Ishamael back in Dec 2018. But we still wanted to put this out there so that it can be known we aren't making this up. And who knows, maybe it was true at the time, but things can change quickly in Hollywood.
