Prayer for Hills & Valleys

This is the kickoff of our new series, Hills and Valleys.

Then a man of God came and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Because the Syrians have said, “The Lord is God of the hills, but He is not God of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’ ” 1 Kings 20:28

God is the God of the hills and the valleys. Whether you are on the hill, mountain, or valley, God is still God. He is still sitting on the throne, ruling overall. He is still in control, He is still with you because He promises to never leave you nor forsake you. No matter what season you are in, you are not alone.

Get ready to jump into learning more about hills and valleys, their significance, and biblical examples so that you can navigate through various seasons God’s way.

The longer you take to do what God has called you to do the longer you hold someone up and their future.

You are the answer to what someone is going through right. You are the solution.

Stop worrying about what others think.

Move to please God not people.

Do what God told you to do.

In order for us to do what God has told us to do, obedience is required, but there are also a few others things as well. Tune in to this week’s episode to learn.

A part of the corruption and deception that is happening in our world is due to false prophecy.

Many prophets speak, preach, and prophesy what sounds good, what they feel like people want to hear at that moment in time instead of what the Lord has spoken.

Many are deceived and led astray because we don’t know what God’s word says.

During this episode, you will learn who a true prophet is, their role, and how to discern a true prophet from a false prophet.

Many believe that Christians and government and politics need to be separate. But what does God’s word say?

Every soul must submit to governing authorities. Romans 13:1

Many are relying on the government to save our nation, but Jesus is our Savior.

Remember that government only has authority from God and that is why we should listen and obey them.

During this episode, you will learn why we are to submit to governing authorities, consequences of disobeying authority, government’s responsibility, and our responsibility to government.

Thank You Lord!

Our last series we learned that praise and worship confuses the enemy. That it’s a warfare tactic. It’s great to put on praise & worship music, but we also have to make sure that music isn’t the only way we worship God. We are to open our mouths and worship God from our hearts.

Psalm 100 is a psalm that invites us to enter joyfully, cheerfully, happily, with a full heart into the presence of God.

During this episode, you will learn to praise and worship God with joy and gladness. You will learn why we are to praise & worship Him and how to worship Him from our hearts. You’ll also learn some names and characteristics of God to use in prayer and times of worship.

God Will Give You Rest: 2 Chronicles 20:27-30

This is the fourth and final episode of a 4 part series on 2 Chronicles 20.

When all the surrounding kingdoms heard that the Lord himself had fought against the enemies of Israel, the fear of God came over them. So Jehoshaphat’s kingdom was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side. 2 Chronicles 20:27-30

We are to be like God. We are to display the characteristics and attributes that He does. We are to be Christ-like. Ephesians tells us that we are to be imitators of God. We are to walk in love. Walk in love as Christ also loved us and gave Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. So let us be Christ-like. Let us be imitators of Christ Let’s not just focus on love as with your spouse or relationship, but with people. With everyone. Let us display love to all. What is love? 1 Corinthians 13:4-10 Love is an action word. It’s not always a feeling, but a demonstration. As you were blessed from this episode, be a blessing and share it with someone today. Do Not Be Deceived Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. NKJV See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. NASB Do not be lead astray by heresy, opinions, worldly advice, worldly traditions, man-made traditions and advice In this verse, Paul is warning the Colossians. He’s speaking against philosophies and human traditions. He’s not so much speaking against all philosophers and traditions, but those that come from human thinking and opinions and human works, those that come from the spiritual powers of the world. Those that are not rooted in Christ. Those that give no credit to God, mainly because they did not come from God. As new trends and teachings come about, see if it aligns with the word of God As you receive advice from others test the spirit and see if it comes from God As you were blessed from this episode, be a blessing and share it with someone today. Even though we know who we are and whose we are, the enemy tries to place thoughts and things in our mind to make us think otherwise. And in the moment we may get so overwhelmed that we forget whose we are and who we are. This is why it is so important to be rooted in God’s word. This is why it’s so important to Be alert and of sober mind. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. NKJV Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. NLT Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. AMPC Satan’s goal is to take us out. He wants to destroy us. He wants to distract us. He wants to derail us. He wants to get us off track. He wants us to turn away from God. He wants to get us as far off the path God has created for us as he possibly can He is a deceiver and a liar. That’s why it’s important for you to be alert and know who you are in Chrsit. God’s Warning The Book of Jeremiah Jeremiah prophesied Judah’s 70-year captivity in Babylon. Jeremiah was called and appointed by God as a prophet to urge God’s people to turn from their sins (idolatry, wickedness, evil, worshipping of idols,), repent, and turn to God or God would place judgment and destruction on them (such as war, famine, disease). Jeremiah warned them and spoke messages that God had shown him and spoken to Him in order to get the people to turn to God, but they wouldn’t listen. The messages Jeremiah was speaking were of warning and judgment while the false prophets were speaking of peace and telling them that everything would be just fine, not encouraging the people to turn from their sins Sometimes we just want God to fix everything, fix everything around us, fix the world, but we aren’t willing to make any changes in our own lives. Our nation will be at peace one day, but for now, what I don’t want you to ignore is the fact that sin is still running rampant in our nations and that God wants us to turn completely back to Him.

Make daily confessions to God because none of us are perfect and we fall short daily

Be still and listen to God

Know that as you hear from God, He will call you to do some things you don’t want to do

Jeremiah sought God even through his worry, doubt, and fear. We are to seek God in prayer through uncertainty as well. The Lord of Justice God is just. God is righteous. God is holy. Sometimes when we think of justice, and God being a God of justice we view it as in our favor. We also need Him to bring justice for us for others. George Floyd, Brianna Taylor, Amaud Arbery, and the list goes on and sadly it is continuing to grow But we trust in the name of the Lord which can not fail us We don’t always understand His ways, but we know they have a purpose and that purpose will be revealed and it will work out for our good. Use Your Voice Proverbs 31:8-9 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice. The time is now for us to use our God-given voices. The time is now for us to stand for justice. Speak up for the people who have no voice 1 Cor 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. Be encouraged. Change is coming. Change is happening. We are writing history right now. Let God lead you in this story He is writing. Let God use you in this story He is writing Be bold. Be strong. It starts at the Heart If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, [a]how can he love God whom he has not seen? 1 John 4:20 I believe it all starts at the heart. You can’t love God and hate your brothers and sisters. If you don’t love God you can’t love others and you don’t consider others as your brothers and sisters because you aren’t a part of the body of Christ, but working under the influence of Satan. If you have hate and racism in your heart you can’t love others. You can’t treat others how Christ would because Christ doesn’t live in you. Satan comes to divide and those participating in division by way of racism, hate, oppression, and injustice they can’t see our struggles and pain. How can we expect them to act differently without the love of God? For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [a]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 So let’s begin to seek God for a strategy and pray for changed hearts and minds. As you were blessed from this episode, be a blessing and share it with someone today. God Has Not Forgotten About You For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 Does your faith need to be restored in this season? Does your hope need to be restored in this season? Fix your eyes on God and not others and their situations. Fix your eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. When you take your eyes off of Him then you start to feel

Stop comparing yourself to others

Be happy for what God is doing in the lives of those around you

Be grateful for where God has you right now

Be patient

Your Words Have Power Proverbs 18:21 Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Our words have power. It doesn’t say some of our words have power or our words might have power it says literally that life and death are in the power of the tongue so I want us to...rather God wants us to be mindful of the words that we speak. We need to start being intentional with speaking life over our lives and not death. We need to be intentional with speaking life over the lives of others and not death. Let no negative word proceed out of your mouth. Your words have power. Your words can make or break you. Your words can heal you or make you sick. Your words can break generational curses or they can create new ones. Speak life over your situation. Speak life over your family. Speak life over your children. And bind the spirit of fear and oppression. As you were blessed from this episode, be a blessing and share it with someone today. What Am I Supposed to Learn From this? There is so much that is going on right now, but one thing I want to challenge you to do is to ask God, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO LEARN DURING THIS PANDEMIC? We are in uncertain times, unfamiliar times, but we serve a God who is all-knowing, all-powerful, and He is purposeful. Everything that we stand in need of God is the source. Lean on Philippians 4:19 You may have lost your job or had a decrease in income. Know that God is a provider. Lean on Genesis 22:14 Maybe God is trying to teach you more about who He is and what He is capable of doing. Maybe you are grieving. Lean on Psalm 34:18. Maybe you completely are blown away by the things that are happening As we continue on through this week: Instead of complaining pray Instead of gossiping pray Instead of judging pray Instead of worrying pray, seek God, trust Him, as Him for guidance, wisdom, knowledge understanding If God is leading you to start a business or searching for a new stream of income or whatever plans you are working on, make sure that God is included Make sure it is what God wants you to be doing during this time As you were blessed from this episode, be a blessing and share it with someone today. Maybe someone you loved has passed recently. Maybe you are still struggling with getting over the loss of a loved one, friend or family member or colleague. They may have passed years ago and it still grieves your spirit. Maybe there are triggers that drive you into a deep place of darkness and isolation. Maybe you don’t have peace with the loss of a loved one. Uneasiness not knowing if they made it to heaven or hell. Questioning God asking why this happened or why did He allow it to happen.

Or it can even be someone who you have never met a day in your life. Someone you admire. Someone you look up to. An artist, public figure, sports player.

Maybe you are grieving the state that our world is in with the Corona-virus and the number of people that have lost their lives or jobs from it.

Or may your loss or grief is unrelated to death because not all grief is caused by death.

In the first episode of this series, Chatoya talks about loss, which happens before grief, and examples of loss that are unrelated to death.

Get ready to take notes and be prepared for an eye-opening exercise at the end of the episode.

Imagine God telling you to do something that makes absolutely no sense. Imagine God telling you to do something when from your own natural eye it seems impossible. This is when you trust God and do what He says even when it doesn't make sense. Trust Him even when it doesn't make sense.

God told me that He would supply all of my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus and He did just that. I had faith, believed, trusted, acted, obeyed, persevered, and stood on His promise of Philippians 4:19 and He showed up in a miraculous way.

God is a miracle worker, but have you experienced Him as your miracle worker? Are you in need of a miracle?

If you are in a situation that you can’t handle or fix or deal with on your own, you’re in the perfect state because that alone leaves room for God to do what you can’t, to move some things around that you can’t move around on your own strength, power, or might, but simply by the Holy Spirit

Remember that if God did it before He will do it again.

Many times we feel as though we don't have time to read the Bible, read daily devotionals, sermons, worship, pray, go to church, go to Bible study, and spend consistent time with God daily. Often times when we do spend time with God, we aren't intentional and don't give Him our best. The truth is we have time, sometimes we just prioritize other things above God. It's time to give God our first and our best. You can do it! In this episode you will learn how. You will also learn how to:

Make God a Priority
