Two women called Cat, plumbing the depths and the shallows of culture and measuring the stuff of life against God's truth. Usually in the car. Often with guests.

In this episode we talk to two of our own pastors. We ask them about what we should think of the ministry, books and teaching of those - such as Ravi Zacharias - who have had a very public and shameful fall from grace. Should we burn all their books and try out hardest to forget any of the teachings that have been impactful, or should we give them the benefit of the doubt?
We consider if ever we should offer opinions on public allegations of abuse, whether we really should support parachurch organisations (we also accurately define what these are), and the Cats nail the art of asking 16 small questions and try to pass them off as 1.

Our next offering in our Mercy Drops series is Anna's story. Anna takes us back 3 years to when she found out she was pregnant while at university. She tells of the torment she experienced as her self-esteem took a huge hit and how she felt that before God she stood condemned and so far from Him. She found herself in a downward spiral which ultimately led to a surprise pregnancy.
Anna explains how God has used this time to draw her close to Him - how He would come to answer her biggest question: 'does God forgive Christians?'

We start with our good friend, Helen who shares her story of how mental health has impacted her childhood and family. Helen is one of our favourite people; a powerhouse of organisation albeit in quite an unconventional way, a teacher, mathematician, minister's wife, mum of 3 and lover of lists. In this episode we go trans-Atlantic and talk to our new friend Rachel Green Miller about her excellent new book. We find out that the word Egalitarian is an insult in America, Cat W tries her best to fit in with the Americans with her limited knowledge of the NFL and Cat S manages to remind us (again) that she has been to America.
Eventually we talk through some of Rachel's writing. She manages to walk us through several hundreds of years of history in a few lines, gives us a brief history of feminism and we talk about how both of these things have in someways dictated our views of men and women in the church today.
