The Mindful Youth podcast: Recent Episodes

Yash Bhatia

"The Mindful Youth, a podcast to grow awareness about the importance of mindfulness, openness, creativity and connection. In the busy, chaotic, fast paced lives we all take nowadays, it has become so hard to take a few steps back to be aware of our surroundings, and therefore creativity is a real bug to achieve nowadays. I make no promises about knowing the key to happiness, nor the route you should take in your lives, but through this podcast, I am trying to grow my own sense of awareness in this world, and I'm so blessed to be able to take you all on this adventure with me!”

The Mindful Youth is back!!! This episode is filled with insight onto what causes us to suffer in this modern age, why comparison and Instagram both suck, solutions and philosophies to deal with the dissatisfaction that many of us feel, a couple of book recommendations, a couple of quotes and a whole lot of love... There's even some Buddhism thrown in there! Most of the following podcasts will have other guests speaking as well, so make the most of this one just listening to my voice ;)

If you loved this podcast, found it useful, insightful or even found it awful, send me feedback, it's always appreciated...

Furthermore if you could share and review this podcast, it would massively help me with the ever changing algorithm to kickstart this podcast off again. I will be ever so grateful (and may even give you a hug when I see you!)

Barnaby Shand - @barnabyshand

This was one of the more deep and long-form conversations I've recorded, and Barnaby is a massive inspiration to a lot of people out there, is in the midst of creating a coaching course with his company (The Thrive Project), and is an avid traveller and self-experimenter!

I hope you enjoy listening to this, and I gained a tonne of value from this conversations!

So this episode is different from what I'd normally put up, because we have no guest and I'm talking about my own experiences through the crazy journey of life! Its also somewhat more vulnerable than what other episodes have been in the past, but I felt its a message I should keep on pushing out there, and how being short has impacted my life!

I'm super grateful to all of you tuning in, and hope you have an amazing weekend and week ahead!

Lots of love

This podcast was so much fun to record with Sky! She really gives amazing insights into how we need to connect with nature more, how our planet will always find a way to thrive (even if we, as selfish humans, have to struggle), connecting with your breath and going deep with human connection and why its been a struggle in quarantine.

As always I really hope you enjoyed this podcast, feel free to review it, share it, or give me some feedback and I appreciate you for being on this journey with me!

Me and Erin recorded this a few weeks back and I really enjoyed the conversation. Due to quarantine, audio quality has still been compromised, but despite this, I really think you'll enjoy this!

As always, I really appreciate the fact that you've turned up to listen to this, and are here to better yourself, gain new perspectives and just be present! If you would like to support, I'd always appreciate it if you wanted to share the podcast, review it or give me personal feedback!

We did this podcast in a slightly different format as more of a discussion as opposed to an interview! It felt more casual and authentic when we recorded, and I gained a lot of value from talking to Aiden who shifted my perspectives and views on a number of issues!

Aiden is an 18 year old entrepreneur, trader, and all around interesting person who is a fantastic friend of mine and never fails to give an interesting story or perspective...

Hope you enjoy this! <3

Here are some Uplifting Stories and Good News pieces to make you feel more positive, happy and hopefully less anxious about these uncertain times. Me and AJ had and amazing time recording this podcast, and he was the first guest who I have actually hosted using the home setup as he was sitting right beside me!

If any of you are feeling low or struggling during quarantine, my dm line is always open @iamyashbhatia, and I'm always here for a chat, especially now when it is so important we take care of our own mental and physical health!

I'm stoked that you are joining me for Season 2 of this podcast and I'm excited to see where we can take this podcast, as a media for good change!

Hey fam, this is the 20th episode of the podcast so far and I'm super grateful to you guys as always for tuning in.

This podcast went deep into emotions and how we respond as men, emotional wellbeing and all the good stuff so I'm excited to see how you all find it and the message that Adam portrays so well.

Expect audio interruptions due to occasional WiFi cuts and issues, but hopefully shouldn't be too much of a hassle, especially since the message is so solid!

The Mindful Youth Podcast - Episode 18... In today's podcast, I talk about the importance of creating community in this massively fast paced world, and how despite not having a local community true to my values, I've been able to use social media in an empowering way to create international but still tightly connected communities with amazing people!

Hope you enjoyed this, and as ever I'm so grateful for your love, support and goodwill! If you enjoyed this, and would like to help me out even more, please share it through Instagram Stories or Facebook, leave me reviews on Apple, or send me a dm about how you found it! The Real Satta - @therealsatta on instagram! He is a music artist, futurist, and amazing creator with a pretty neat "glove."

In this podcast, we talk about the work ethic and dedication required to getting started in whatever you do (in Satta's case, the music industry since he was ten years old)

We talk about burning out while constantly hustling, and taking steps back into life, to remember to enjoy and appreciate the little things in life as opposed to constant hustle.

And we talk about the lies that we were told growing up, about what life should look like, and how influential people all over the world are slowly changing  that image of an "ideal life."

Please go and show Satta some love on his socials and Spotify (click here) , as he prepares to debut his original album, based on a minimalist approach to life (Low Tech, High Life).

And once again, I'm so grateful for all of your support and love to this podcast so thank you, and have a blessed weekend and week ahead! :)

This is Episode 16, Season 1 in the Mindful Youth podcast, with the HOUSTON KRAFT, who is a kindness advocate and professional hugger! Houston and I have been trying to organize this interview, since very early on in the days of the Mindful Youth Podcast, and I'm immensely grateful to him for coming on the show, turning up and supporting me on this project of mine. He is one of the most genuine people out there in the world and the purpose that he is living by (to try and make kindness normal in our world) is such a righteous way of living life, and truly inspires me to create more kindness in our world just through little random acts of kindness! Houston's message has really taken off all over the USA, and it's very hard to actually catch him when he's at home, because he's always travelling to a new school or place of work to talk about kindness, or deliver Character Strong Training! (Character Strong is his company which delivers educational and social emotional training to schools both internationally and globally) Houston has spoken at over 500 schools, and to more than half a million people in total, and he's still just kicking this mission off!

Follow Houston @houstonkraft on instagram, to show him love and support, and be inspired just as I have!

So without further ado, here's the podcast! If you enjoyed this podcast, please go ahead and review it, share it (instagram etc and tag me!) and give me feedback on it! I'm so grateful for you turning up and tuning in, so thank you and have a beautiful weekend (or week!)

Yash :)

Leron Barton is an author and a Tedx speaker. He is an extremely intelligent and aware man, and I had an amazing time being able to sit down and talk with him about overcoming his fear of stuttering, the struggles in mental health that young people face in the current age, and the highly controversial Gillette advert in relation to the portrayal of men in the media! I highly recommend checking out Leron's Tedx speech on Youtube, as it is genuinely inspiring and teaches how to overcome the adversity that we are dealt with in life! @leronlbarton (on instagram)

Thank you so much for tuning in to another rendition of the Mindful Youth Podcast! I'm pumped to release Episode 15 of my first series in the podcast, and I'm so grateful for you being here and sharing the love!

Lots of love

Yash

(And I hope you enjoy this podcast! I've not been able to release one for a while due to a multitude of reasons, but I'm going to try and pick up the pace again, and keep on pushing content out to get through the dry spells!)

Rob Lawless is a man on a mission. He's pledged to make 10, 000 new friends in the world, meet them all individually, and spend at least one hour, if not longer with them. The reason? Malcolm Gladwell quoted that it takes 10, 000 hours of practice in any field to become an expert at the matter in hand. Rob aims to become a world-class expert in making friends, which is why he set the bar so high! As of releasing this podcast, Rob just achieved his major milestone of 2,500 friends, so he's a quarter of the way there! His instagram is @robs10kfriends, so go follow his adventure and show him some love! I'm so grateful to have had a conversation with him about his mission, milestones, and set backs (and what it's like to not have a traditional job.) Rob shares advice for the young generation, in this increasingly disconnected generation, on how to still find passion and connection through people.

Thank you for taking the time to check this podcast out, and as always, I'm immensely grateful for you taking out time from your day, to listen to me talk on this matter. You're awesome! And you are aware enough to listen to this, and maybe change aspects of your life which is actually amazing! As always, feel free to share this podcast, leave it reviews and ratings on Apple, and give me personal feedback! Lots of love!  @iamyashbhatia (my instagram)

The first three hours of the morning are the most productive, creative and key to the forming the rest of your day. However, young people tend to have become conditioned to late nights, and therefore late mornings. For me, ever since I started waking up an a hour or so earlier in the morning, my day would almost always be bettered in some way. It would give me the time and space to be creative, healthy, and without being clouded by all the information that fills our minds in this modern and fast paced society we live in. This is my 2 cents worth, and not gospel truth. The most important thing is to find a routine that works for you, and move forwards from there. Thank you for taking the time to check this podcast out, and as always, I'm immensely grateful for you taking out time from your day, to listen to me talk on this matter. You're awesome! And you are aware enough to listen to this, and maybe change aspects of your life which is actually amazing! This is my view. If you appreciate it, please let me know, it genuinely means so much to me. This is one of the personal podcasts that I’ve made but I think the message that I put out remains clear. Anxiety is such a dangerous problem around young people, and more needs to be done by ourselves to address it. If you’ve found this episode helpful, please share it, leave it reviews on Apple or simply dm me on Instagram at @iamyashbhatia. Hope this helps a lot of you and lotta love ❤️🤙

I discovered Ben literally two days ago after hearing about his mission from a friend of mine! I found his Instagram page, and was immediately inspired and fascinated. Ben is currently in Laos at the time of podcasting, and he is en-route to Vietnam, as his mission across Europe and Asia to reach Australia continues. Talking to Ben and hearing his story was able to change my perspective on the way we travel and communicate with locals as we go along, and how most of the time we never create a true bond with the locals while travelling. His humbling, yet purposeful story about cycling from Leicester (my hometown) to Australia (not my hometown) was able to teach me something. It taught me that awesome people with inspiring stories are everywhere you look, and it taught me to open my eyes a bit more to the opportunity around us! In this podcast, we talk about the importance of connection in everyday life, the universal way to share joy (a smile), the challenges and fears he has overcome through challenging, and we talk about the fascinating, meaningful and very current charities that he is raising money for + we both give a little bit of life advice too! Please feel free to share this podcast, give me feedback and leave a review on iTunes! I love hearing from all of you guys and I'm so grateful for all of this support! Hope this inspires you as much as it inspired me!

This hasn't been refined, nor edited. I'm only uploading this unfiltered content to share a message that has been really affecting me over the last few weeks/months. I've been nervous as hell to publish and share it, but I think its a message about loneliness that needs to be heard, because its really affected how I've lived my life recently. I believe that loneliness can affect everybody in different ways, but there is a lack of support amongst communities with it. Please feel free to share it, and tell me what you thought about it, especially if it helped you get through things. This is probably just a phase of mine, but never the less, it can affect us all. As I said, it is unedited, but I think its better delivered raw, and talking this out has been almost therapeutic in a weird way. If you are struggling with anything, feel free to talk to me or dm about it. I' m up for a chat with everybody, so share the love. Happy Monday everybody, and hopefully I'll be a bit more motivational next time.

PS Thanks Nish and Shirley for opening my eyes :)

This is the first time, I have interviewed a guest on the show, unfortunately using the Lion Standard of "Skype," so I apologise for any audio cuts during the podcast. I found Tim Connors through Instagram, and after having a socially awkward childhood, made it a habit to meet new people on a daily basis as he progressed through college. He was a fascinating find, and I hope you really enjoy his wisdom and passion for meeting new people in the world.

Lots of love, Yash

We all have anxieties. Not many of us attempt to make a solid impact to combat them, and I believe connection with people is so important in combatting these anxieties. Sharing a message of love and care is so important to those around you, so go ahead, listen and maybe shift your life perspective? :)

Tired of the term meditation and hearing about the so-called benefits. I get you completely dude, so tune into this and evaluate awareness and purpose instead! I’m forever fascinated by the superhuman achievements of Wim Hof and the power of the breath, and I think the things that humans can achieve are pretty dope if we incorporate our minds into our decisions and way of life. That’s my two pence worth at least...
