Subliminal/Phreakunique (all about house music) is a Stirling based club events brand and Dj collective. Our aim is to host quality dance events featuring the best of local Dj'ing talent playing all things house music. All of our Dj's have over 25 years of experience playing some of the hottest bars, clubs and music festivals around Scotland and beyond.

John started out dj'ing from the age of 14 after being inspired from a DJ who played regular at his local under 18's nightclub, from there he started to buy vinyl and build up a rather rare and classic collection of dance music which again led him to attend these huge dance festivals such as Rezerection, Streetrave, awesome 101. Week in week out to watch his favourite DJs from all around the world perform.

John's first opportunity to put on his very own night was when he was 16 @ at a local community centre after doing 3 very successful nights his sights were set higher and his first ever club he was given the opportunity to play was Fubar, Stirling. The Fubar club in the early 90's was rated 1 of the best in the country for there all night events and won numerous awards from magazines and radio shows . So for this local DJ to be given the chance to play this venue was a huge thing!! Not only did he get the chance to play in his home town but play beside some of the biggest DJ talent around at that time was a huge accomplishment for him.

After securing a residency at the club john went on to appear all over Scotland playing in venue's such as the arches, Archaos, the tunnel to name a few playing for some of the coolest club brands such as colours, cream, m8 , Clubscene the list goes on and on as well as his club appearances john featured on radio shows such as Clyde 1 beat 106 and joy fm

After the years passed john decided it was time for him to start up his own club night that he could own and promote himself alongside friends alex & martin, so in February 2003 john launched his PhreakUnique brand @ the beat club, Stirling. Bringing some of the hottest dj's and live percussion from all around Scotland to the beat was a huge task but it all paid off in the end as the club ran for a year and a half before changing venue's to the Fubar club where it all began, and for the past 7 year the club night still stands to be one of the longest running and most popular events run throughout Stirling and all over.

John's musical style ranges from soulful/funky house through to electro/progressive. DJs like fairly "jack" master funk, Eric Morrillo, Masters at Work, Danny Rampling, Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Steve Angello, Arno Costa, Laid Back Luke, Axwell, Sebastion Ingrosso shaped the DJ that John Devlin is today and if it wasn't for them showing there music ability and style, and unique taste they all have who knows where it would have led. However this DJ is still out there spinning and doing what he loves best and continues to support Subliminal as long as it may last.
