The kingdom of God is built with perfectly hewn stones fitting perfectly together crafted by God. And we are the stones. What does this have to do with The Lord's Prayer? The answer is... Everything! The devil is real, and he's at work. Waiting for just the right moment to attack. He is patient, motivated, personal, and he seeks to devour you. The Lord's Prayer shows us that this life is a battle and this prayer is how we prepare for that battle! We pray that you will be drawn closer to Christ as you learn to pray the way Jesus taught His disciples in your daily devotion to God. James 1:13 says "God does not tempt anyone" and in Matthew 6:13 Jesus teaches his disciples to pray "... Lead us not into temptation". How can both of these be true? As we seek to grow deeper in prayer and in union with God in our fight against temptation, consider that Jesus would rather die than sin, but we would rather sin than feel like we were dying. We pray that you will be drawn closer to Christ as you learn to pray the way Jesus taught His disciples in your daily devotion to God. Forgiveness is hard. But Jesus' teaching on forgiveness is even harder. Jesus challenges our ideas about forgiveness in these passages, but the question you have to answer is "Is hanging onto that grudge worth your relationship with God"? What does it mean to pray for our daily bread? More than likely, you have heard it taught, that one should pray, only for the provision of one days food. If so... you're not wrong.... but the bread makes all the difference. Jesus coins a new term when he says "Bread". It's a word that is found no where else in the Bible. And it means so much that if you do eat of it.... you will never hunger again!!!We pray that you will be drawn closer to Christ as you learn to pray the way Jesus taught His disciples in your daily devotion to God. What does it mean to pray for God's kingdom to come in the Lord's Prayer? The kingdom of God can be something mysterious to us, yet Jesus puts it at the very front of our prayer. When we see the gospel in light of the kingdom, it reveals how Jesus was teaching us to pray for the power of the gospel to be at work in our lives, especially when life gets hard and we struggle to know what to pray.We pray that you will be drawn closer to Christ as you learn to pray the way Jesus taught His disciples in your daily devotion to God. Prayer is the means of leading us into communion and closeness to God. But sometimes the more we pray the more distant we feel from Him. How can prayer make us feel so close and so far from God at the same time? What really is the purpose of prayer? We close our sermon series on the seven deadly sins this week with "Anger". Looking at Absalom in 2 Sam 13 we see Absalom's desire for justice turn into a lust for vengeance. When he gets his vengeance, instead of his anger being quenched, it is only kindled until it destroys him. Stop planning your revenge and turn your eyes upon Jesus
Sloth = Laziness right? That's not me. I'm so busy. Im barely keeping my head above water. How am I a sloth? To understand sloth we need to start from scratch. Is pride the deadliest of the seven deadly sins? Ezekiel 28 tells us that Satan opened the door to pride and pride grew into all the other deadly sins. Pride is the deadliest because it spits in the face of God. Pride removes God from His throne and places its host there. Pride makes a new covenant with us, that “we will be like God, and that we will surely not die” We pray for conviction, and a softness of heart for you and all of God’s people, as you look inward to expose the pride festering in your own heart to the light of Christ. It's so hard to acknowledge that you need help. But it's even harder to ask for help if you're able to accept that you need it. Where does our help come from? Jesus gives us a window into this in the upper room. He says the helper is coming , but first He must leave us for a while. Would you rather see Jesus face to face or have The Helper indwelling you. The downward spiral of Judges culminates in this story. It's hard to read. There was no King in Israel, and everyone did what was right in their own eyes. Where that led them was so dark, so barbaric, and so horrific. The writer wants us to sit and fully understand the depths of evil that have overtaken the people of God. Many of us have fathers who have abandoned, or abused us, and we have trouble relating to God as our Father. In this Sermon about forgiveness we look again at Luke 15, the story of the prodigal son. This story is full of wisdom, and one of the things God is trying to tell us is, that forgiveness is not a soft option. It is an obligation of grace that God has shown us. We see ourselves a certain way but the Father sees us differently. In this Sermon about forgiveness we look at Luke 15, the story of the prodigal son. Are you waiting for others to apologize to you? Are you waiting until justice is done and they get exactly what they deserve? Are you waiting until you think you've punished them long enough and made your point? This passage shows us that we are the ones who need forgiveness and our unwillingness to forgive you're simply making payments on their unconcealed debts. There is so much to forgive and so much to be forgiven, so what are you waiting for?

America has become a nation of outrage. A place where victimhood is a virtue, and atonement is demanded. But forgiveness is never given. Our culture despises forgiveness because it places the burden on the victim. Jesus comes on the scene and talks about forgiveness in a way that's so radical and contrary to His culture, and just as contrary to ours.
Soften your heart and listen carefully to the words of Jesus in this sermon on Mark 2. We pray this message challenges you to forgive radically like Jesus.

Suffering and hurt is universal in this life. But what does this have do do with Jesus? And isn’t this story supposed to have a happy ending? Well it does, but we have to dig a little deeper into this psalm to find it. Join on the hunt for the treasure buried just under the surface in this passage. We pray this sermon on psalm 88 is a comfort to you in your pain, and in your sorrow.

Psalms of ascent like Psalm 126 & 127 were sung on the way up to the temple. These two are about bringing in God's harvest and building up God's house. Jesus echos these psalms in His own prayers. Jesus wants us to participate in God's mission for the world. Find out how in this sermon on Psalms 126 and 127.

The Psalms teach us that worship is not about escaping your problems. It's about finding God in your problems. Psalms 46 was written for you. the Psalmist sings his way through his uncertainty and feelings of hopelessness and anxiety as he looks for stability in his life. But the waves of life keep coming. The answer to how to find this stability, this inner peace, lies just under the surface of this text but it starts with being still. Just be still for a moment and know that He is God.

When you wake up on a Sunday morning and you decide to go to church.... Where are you going? In this Sermon on Psalm 84 by Marq Toombs we are inspired by the words of David. We long for sacred places and spiritual presence of God like David found.

What is David writing about in Psalm 16? Maybe he wrote it while he was on the run from Saul, a trusted friend who betrayed him? Or maybe he speaks of facing Goliath, a towering foe that that sought kill him? Or maybe its about the loss the child he never got to know? Maybe he's talking about fleeing from Absolom, his rebellious son that sought to undo his fathers house? His life seems to fit between the lines of Psalm 16 doesn't it? But there's more here! And it points to Jesus. In this sermon on Psalm 16 from Ryan Swindle we'll see David is speaking to the resurrection of Jesus!!

Grief is tough. We don't like it. We try to ignore it or explain it away. But we can't tell the story of God without grief and suffering. Maybe that's why the modern church's telling of the story of God isn't believable. This Psalm invites us to grieve. And it tells a compelling story. One that will make you want to worship with Gods people on Sunday and skip Sunday Brunch.
We pray your faith will be made stronger and that you'll be encouraged by this sermon from Psalm 6 from Shaynor Newsome.

Jesus closes the sermon on the Mount with this question…. Whose voice do you listen to?
Jesus is telling us to be discerning and careful because false prophets are not as they appear. They are great speakers, full of charisma, they are likable, successful, and they’re easy to listen to. Their new hit podcast is so refreshing. Their recent book on “3 keys to Christian Living” is on the best sellers list. Their church is growing by leaps and bounds. Their Instagram feed is so encouraging. They have all the appearances of Holiness but they don’t really point you to Jesus. They point to a gospel that’s easy, a path that is wide, and they use Jesus to to endorse their own brand.
Wake up church! Re-build your house on the rock, 'cause the wind and the waves are coming.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". This simple statement by Jesus is so loaded. And what does the Golden Rule have to do with the following verse.. "Enter through the narrow is the gate"? It's more profound than you might expect. "Judge not lest you be judged!". "Who are you to judge me?". "I'm just living my truth". We have a tendency to look at scripture through the lens of what words mean in our culture. In Jesus' day "to judge" had a different connotation. What is Jesus really trying to say to us in this passage?

An eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth. It sounds right doesn't it? You feel good when people who have wronged you get justice! Especially when you can deliver that justice. What's wrong with that? It's hard to accept Jesus' teaching on turning the other cheek and loving your neighbor. In this sermon on Matthew 5 we see Jesus challenging us to love radically different than the way the world loves. Join us on our journey to know God, to walk with Him, and to love Him over all other things.

Jesus is writing an incredible story in these men's lives, and writing an incredible story in yours too. Join us on our journey to know God, to walk with Him, and to love Him over all other things.

The Corinthian church didn't believe in resurrection. They followed the prevailing wisdom of the day. They "followed the science" so to speak. In fairness its pretty crazy right? It defies all logic and everything we think we know. Paul writes to the Church in Corinth to "fact check" the "wisdom" of the Corinthian church and encourage them in their faith. We hope you are encouraged and that your faith would be strengthened by this sermon on 1 Corinthians 15 from Ryan Swindle, our Care Pastor at Redeemer Rockwall.

The Grace of God keeps us moving in the right direction, through temptation, so that we will seek Him and find Him in The Son.
The stories of Elijah and Elisha are strange to be sure. Within the books of 1 & 2 Kings you find recording after recording of each of the kings of Israel and Judah, continuing to take the people of God in a downward spiral. The people are led astray by each king's unwillingness to put away foreign gods and worship the true God alone. But then right in the middle of the story, this downward spiral is interrupted by the ministries of Elijah and Elisha. Through them God calls his people back to him, but he does so in very strange ways by creating a deep thirst within his people.

We’re called to be disciples of Jesus, not just to believe in him and what he’s done, but to follow him. Yet often enough, following Jesus is marked by our failures and struggles that make us feel guilty, ashamed, and not good enough. The story of Peter reminds us that perfection is not a qualification for being a good disciple. In fact, it’s in his failures where Peter learned what a true disciple is. Through the eyes of Peter we will experience his failure, restoration, and examine the Christian life through his letters.

If we were honest, nobody likes the book of Job. It raises so many questions about life and suffering that we don't often want to consider it. We would rather stay in the shallow end of life instead of considering the deepest questions of our existence. Job is hard because it makes us wrestle with the "why" questions of life. Yet there is hope in this book. Amidst all the advice and philosophy that Job's friends offer to answer the questions of his suffering, Job asks deeper questions and wrestles with God. In the end, he alone is the one who comes face-to-face with God in the whirlwind, and there he says, "Before I'd only heard of you, but now my eyes have seen.”

The books of Ezra and Nehemiah come at a unique time in the history of Israel. After spending the last 70 years in exile the King of Persia orders for the temple of God to be rebuilt. This return is a part of God's plan that he prophesied in Jeremiah that after 70 years he would once again gather his people and bring them home. But the reality is that only a few of the exiles return, while most choose to stay in Babylon. What is God doing during this time? What is he trying to teach his people as they return home to rebuild their devastated land? What do Ezra and Nehemiah have to teach us about faithfulness to God's promises in the midst of trials and challenges?
