“The final aim and reason of all music is nothing other than the glorification of God and the refreshment of the spirit.” - Johann Sebastian Bach
Teamed up with Christian Singleton to bring this melodic, deep, organic house remix of her song "know me" - I love how it turned out, so peaceful and mellow!
OG Red Room Freestyle - https://forpromotionaluseonly.com/Wanted to retain the vibe of the original but make it without un-clearable samples, haha
Teamed up with Drew Ava and the fellas to make this fun collab. Really enjoyed throwing in those little ear candy sounds to make things feel interesting and cinematic...the lightning strike in Kurtis' verse when he talks about God being the shelter in the storm, that's a favorite moment in the song for me! Hope y'all enjoy this one.
But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:13-14FUN FACT: Of the 3 guys in this picture, every single one became a Christian a few years after this photo was taken. I'm the short guy in the middle, haha. I think I was 17-18 when this was taken. The past is a useful place to consider, but a terrible place to live. Nostalgia tells us the lie that things were better back in the "good old days" ..nostalgia can leave us feeling discontent with the present and unexcited about the future. Don't let nostalgia lie to you. Don't live in the past. Keep moving on.
"Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free." - Psalm 118:5 (ESV)

You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. - Psalm 32:7 (NASB95)
This trio of artists are back with a freshly reimagined version of their past collaboration, and this time “Hiding Place” has got an entirely different mood and sound. The original version involved an electronic and playful style, which was well-received and garnered over 2 million streams. But this latest version has a distinctly acoustic and vulnerable quality, which can hopefully allow people to connect with the lyrics in a new way. At it’s heart, the song speaks about running to God as the place of safety, refuge, protection, and peace.
Some mellow lo-fi vibes, perfect study music for the "back to school" season! Enjoy :)
LYRICS: [Verse] All this time I felt so hollow Running circles everywhere Never had a place to call home Then You came to save the day
[Chorus] You're the One I follow Follow anywhere You kill all my sorrow Showing me the Way
Joyful Melody is a song of rejoicing for God's profound forgiveness. There are 2 main verses that are referenced in the lyrics. The first comes from Micah 7:19, where it says "You will cast all our sins to the depths of the sea" and the second reference is from Psalm 103:12, which says "as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us." ..If you reflect on the fact that Jesus cancels our sin-debt so completely, you can't help but offer Him thanksgiving and song! Or as Psalm 95:1 says, "Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!"
Carolann reached out to me about doing a remix for her worship song called "All I Want" and I thought it'd be really fun to give it a soul/funk/pop sort of feel. The original is very calm and mellow, so I wanted to see how it would sound with a whole new mood. I love making bass lines, so a big feature of this remix is just the way the bass carries things along. It was really fun to work on, hope y'all enjoy it!
Just some luxuriant, purple-tuxedo energy for your listening enjoyment. Uh ha ha. Fresh cut type energy.
Me and my wife made a sappy song about Autumn :)
I've really never liked Autumn, partly because it signals the end of Summer (my FAVORITE season) and the dreary descent into winter (my least favorite season) ...but my wife Dani adores Autumn. She get's so excited about it. As soon as September hits, she starts busting out the Fall decor. Her enjoyment of the season is what gives it some redeeming quality for me. I no longer dread the Fall like I once did, because I know that it makes Dani happy. And I like when my wife is happy.
LYRICS:
[Intro] You make every season sweet somehow
[Verse 1] The Summer is over and it's getting colder out So cuddle up closer I'll lend you my coat when we go out
I never liked Autumn much, but it's been growing on me now 'Cause when it's the two of us Every season's sweet somehow
[Chorus] Hmm-mmm, You make every season sweet somehow (Sweet Somehow, sweet somehow) You make every season sweet somehow
[Verse 2] The Summer is over (ah ah) and it's getting colder out (ah ah) So cuddle up closer (ah ah) I'll lend you my coat when we go out (ah ah)
I never liked Autumn much, (ah ah) but it's been growing on me now (ah ah) 'Cause when it's the two of us (ah ah) Every season's sweet somehow
[Chorus] Sweet somehow Sweet somehow (ah ah) Sweet Somehow (ah ah) Sweet somehow
[Outro] Sweet somehow (hmm-mm) Sweet somehow You make every season sweet somehow
When I first heard Jonathan's song I immediately wanted to remix it! I made a bootleg first draft and sent him a clip to see what he would think. Thankfully he liked it and agreed to send me the vocal files for me to make an official remix with. I'm super happy with how it came out and grateful for the chance to work with Jonathan. I love the dude's voice, his style, and the heart for God in his lyrics.
[Intro] It's gonna be alright Everything will be alright.
[Verse 1] You're my faithful friend When I feel like I'm on my own (On my own) You remind my heart It's darkest right before the dawn (It's darkest right before the dawn)
[Chorus] 'Cause even in the dead of night When darkness is on every side You're telling me to lift my eyes It's gonna be alright, alright Suddenly a light will shine As we're waiting for the morning light As steady as a new sunrise It's gonna be alright, alright
[Post-Chorus] Arise (Arise, arise) And shine (And shine, and shine) Arise (Arise, arise) And shine (And shine, and shine)
[Verse 2] Yeah, it's hard sometimes But I know how the story ends (I know how the story ends, yeah yeah) Although this night is long On Your faithfulness I can depend (On your faithfulness I can depend)
[Chorus] 'Cause even in the dead of night When darkness is on every side You're telling me to lift my eyes It's gonna be alright, alright Suddenly a light will shine (yeah yeah) As we're waiting for the morning light (morning light) As steady as a new sunrise (yeah yeah) It's gonna be alright, alright
Even in the dead of night (even in the dead of night) When darkness is on every side (every side) You're telling me to lift my eyes (my eyes) It's gonna be alright, alright (alright) Suddenly a light will shine (yeah yeah) As we're waiting for the morning light (yeah yeah) As steady as a new sunrise (yeah yeah) It's gonna be alright, alright (alright)
[Outro] yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah everything will be alright
Jonny Henninger x Melody Lynn - Your Love Is Simple (Chris Howland Remix) by Chris Howland
A future-funk / electro-funk type of track off my latest release “Just The Beats, Volume 1”
I decided to start releasing instrumental versions of my more popular tracks, such as Holding Me Down with Montell Fish and White Noise with CASS. But on each volume, I also plan to include other “bonus” instrumentals that never had any vocals! “Nahna” is the first of the bonus tracks to get an official release, but I’m excited to include a bunch of unheard material on volume two, Lord willing. Stay tuned!
Lyrics: I’m looking out of my window, I see the clouds floating by
And They go where ever the wind blows Carried around the open skies
They come, they leave Like you and me A mist in the breeze Mist in the breeze
Wavy new collab with Mid November and Sajan Nauriyal! I've been loving some of the sounds I'm hearing in newer Trap / Hip-Hop / RnB music, so I wanted to bring a bit of that style to this remix. I know it can be a challenge to find Christian music that hits the same way as secular music does in terms of sheer production quality. I'm really trying my best to make music that can edify people in their walk with God while still getting them to make a stank face and bob their head. That's the mission.
Do me a favor? If you use Spotify and enjoyed this song, simply add it to one of your playlists. It helps a lot!
"Dreamworld is a bittersweet song about growing up and losing sight of childhood dreams. Matthew Parker sings honestly about the disparity between the rosy optimism of youth and the not-so-rosy realism we experience as adults. But the song holds out warm flickers of hope as it repeatedly circles back to the lyric "It's not over yet, I've still got 2 wishes left." On the production, Howland has soft acoustic guitars meet with modern 808's and somehow makes them get along like the best of friends. It's really quite dreamy."
In 2017 this trio of artists first collaborated on "Way Up", a single which went on to garner millions of streams and receive ample support from Christian radio stations. Now Chris Howland, CASS, and Sajan Nauriyal have teamed up a second time to deliver their 2020 follow up entitled "Clear View", a song about enthusiastically facing the future instead of dwelling on the past or being paralyzed by uncertainty.
New track with @bouemusic and @midnovember - go follow dem boys!
Lyrics:
[Verse 1] In all my wandering, You still find me When sin is conquering, You remind me that I'm Your child, You care for me All the while, you were there for me I can come back whenever I'm done With the mess that I made, I run back to Your love I've come back to Your love
[Chorus] Ooh, I'm feelin' so sublime When I think about all You've done for me Ooh, until the end of time I'll be singin' bout all Your love for me
Lyrics:
[Chorus: Chris Howland] You loved a sinner like me And I'm a sinner, it's true But that's not all that You see You made me perfectly new
Sometimes it's hard to believe Someone as perfect as You Could be so patient with me So I just wanna be with You
You (x4)
[Verse 1: Jake James] You got every reason to leave me You don't hold 'em against me You're mercies new, that's just life with You (uh) I use You for things that I'm needing But I'm feeling so empty I take and choose, it's Your grace abused
And I wanna feel the weight of what You say to me So You won't have to feel so far away from me But You say that You've never been away And You love me just the same
[Chorus: Chris Howland] You loved a sinner like me And I'm a sinner, it's true But that's not all that You see You made me perfectly new
Sometimes it's hard to believe Someone as perfect as You Could be so patient with me So I just wanna be with You
[Verse 2: Jake James] Give me Your eyes, mine are tired Give me Your thoughts and desires I wanna walk with You, I wanna talk with You The only one I rely on I just want to give You all my praise You took my past with You in that grave
Fallin' into Your love I'm all in, it's You I want You always renew my mind, yeah (x2)
[Chorus: Chris Howland] You loved a sinner like me And I'm a sinner, it's true But that's not all that You see You made me perfectly new
Sometimes it's hard to believe Someone as perfect as You Could be so patient with me So I just wanna be with You
You loved a sinner like me (you) And I'm a sinner, it's true (you) But that's not all that You see (you) You made me perfectly new (You)
Sometimes it's hard to believe (You) Someone as perfect as You (You) Could be so patient with me (You) So I just wanna be with You
You (x4)
Had the pleasure of remixing this DOPE track by up and coming UK artist Mid November! I love this dude's style, stay tuned for more music from me and him :)
Hope everyone is staying safe and feeling the peace and comfort of God. He is good, He is in control, and He cares for His children. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you.
I wrote the lyrics for this song “Be Still” months ago, not knowing what kind of crazy future was ahead of us all. But now it seems that we need this reminder more than ever...to be still and know that He is God. That phrase comes from Psalm 46, where the reader is told to “be still” even though the whole world is literally crashing down. When you really look at the context of Psalm 46, it makes that phrase so much more powerful. Now is the time to open the scriptures and ask Jesus to speak to any storm in our soul and say “Peace! Be still!” ..I hope this song can be a reminder for people to find peace and security in Christ in these wild times.
I've been on SoundCloud for 11 years! Started way back in 2009, and it's been a lovely and long journey ever since then. Thank you for listening my friends. God bless you!
Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️ - I made this song at the end of 2018 but never officially released it. I really liked it, so I figured it would be fitting to finally give it a proper release for Valentine’s Day. You can find it on Spotify, Apple Music, and everywhere else!
1 John 4:7-21 NKJV
7 ¶ Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12 ¶ No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
17 ¶ Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
19 We love Him because He first loved us.
20 ¶ If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
Anh was kind enough to let me add some of my style to her song. It was just guitar and vocals initially, but I thought the words and melodies were beautiful and just wanted to try some ideas on it. This is what came out. Wanted to try something different, hope ya dig it :)
Got to do a really fun remix for DJ EM-D with CASS on the vocals! I love getting to do remix work, because for some reason I feel less pressure than when I'm doing an original. I get to just have fun and play around with building off the foundation that has already been laid with the original vocals. Making music is sometimes a bit stressful, because I get sort of obsessive about the little details. So it's great when it can feel much more relaxed and fun, and I think that was the case with this one. I didn't have to overthink it, I just ran with it and enjoyed the process. Hope yall like the final result!
If you can do us a big favor, please fly over to Spotify and simply save this song to your favorite or add it to your playlists! And of course, if you liked the song please like it here and subscribe if you haven't already :) Many thanks fam, God bless!

"Live and Move" blends elements of Pop, Funk, and Hip-Hop in a fun and stylish way. Laced with funky guitar, slapping bass, and dynamic vocals from 3 different artists, this song does a great job of highlighting each person's unique sound. Aaron Cole, Mr. Talkbox, and Phil J. all bring a distinct flavor to this groovy collaboration. Drawing inspiration from Acts 17:28, Howland penned the chorus based on the theme of having joyous gratitude for the life God has given.

Had fun trying something a little different on this sort of Lo-Fi R&P track. Initially I was uncertain about who would fit on such an obscure instrumental. But Austin Sebek from Splendor Tree was adventurous enough to jump right onto this and bring it into a direction that sounds so smooth and natural. And adding that lovely soulful quality that she always brings, Sarah Juers graces this track with her own vocal touches, which are the perfect finishing compliments to the vibe that Austin started. Out now on The Amen Collective!

this song makes me feel something that's hard to find words for. it has a very bittersweet quality to it...i think that's why i like it so much. it captures a very real sentiment that has been with me for many years...which is that mostly everything is temporary, but the temporariness makes it beautiful. and sad. but beautiful.
Made this way back in 2013. Never released it, but I still think it's kinda dope so...enjoy!

Not gonna lie, I shed tears while working on this. It's always a treat to create music around vocals that make you really feel something. I had the pleasure of remixing this beautiful tune from Nathanael Bryce, whose vocals are simply lovely.

This song is about crying out to God when your soul feels dry...when life is hard and God seems far away. It's about remembering that, even in those moments, God hears you when you come to him in prayer with a humble and contrite spirit. "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." - Psalms 51:17
Lyrics-
VERSE 1: Could You cause me to wonder again? (Cause me to wonder again) Could You draw me in?(Draw me in) 'Cause I feel like I've drifted so far (Feels like I've drifted so far) Take me back to the place where You are (Won't You take me back)
PRE-CHORUS: I just need to feel You near me Feels like I'm disappearing But I know You hear me Lord Yes I know You hear me
CHORUS: You've come to my rescue before So won't You please save me once more I know I can always be sure I know that You hear me oh Lord You've come to my rescue before So won't you please save me Oh, I know, I know I can always be sure I know that You hear me oh Lord
VERSE 2: I'm giving You all of my sin (Giving You all of my sin) I'm letting You cleanse me within (Make me clean from within) I'm giving You my wicked heart (Giving You my wicked heart) Take me back to the place where You are (Won't You take me back)
CHORUS: You've come to my rescue before So won't You please save me once more I know I can always be sure I know that You hear me oh Lord You've come to my rescue before So won't You please save me once more I know I can always be sure I know that You hear me oh Lord

I had an absolute blast working on this remix for Joel. The vocals provided instant inspiration, which made it easy and exciting to run wild with ideas. I took this one in a future bass/chill trap direction, because these genres feel like they facilitate a good blend of both interesting, energetic sounds AND emotive melodic content. I adore working with vocals and doing remixes, so if you're ever looking for someone to add a different feel to one of your tracks, please feel free to contact me at ProductionResume@yahoo.com - Cheers!
Each individual can interpret these 5 simple words in their own very different ways. Perhaps there was a toxic relationship that they needed to end. Perhaps "I don't need you anymore" could be aimed towards not just a person, but a habit. A substance - a struggle. Perhaps it could even be aimed at the idea of speaking to your former self - the old man, the sinful nature. In whichever way the listener relates to these words, the sentiment seems to be that there are some things that are best left in the past.
If Lane 8, EDX, and Cazzette were to collaborate, it might sound a little something like this. In "Next To Me" you have intimate vocals that remind you of Cazzette's "Sleepless" alongside a warm rhythmic bassline that makes you think of an artist like EDX. With a vocoded harmonic feel, the vocals rest beautifully on top of a bed of lush and emotive Rhodes chords, sunny tropical synth plucks, and dusty retro textures ...and you can't help but feel drawn in. The song has a distinct and emotional feel, but it also maintains a certain dance-friendly quality that could certainly inspire plenty of those "head bobbing with your eyes closed" sort of moments. "Next To Me" does a great job of tying together a song that makes you move while also making you feel a special something in it's softer and more subdued moments. This one is definitely something you'll want to add your weekend playlists for taking a drive down to the beach, having a cozy little house party with close friends, or warming up a crowd in the beginning of a long night of dancing. Get your hands on this little gem, and keep your eyes on this guy for more tasty house music in the future!
