Elodie joined me to record this episode for the Cosmic Soup Bowl. Our intention was to have a leisurely, fun, and free-flowing discussion about Alice in Wonderland and the doorways we find to healing through stories, myth, and imagination as well through the dream body. Jupiter’s transit through Pisces inspired and catalyzed our decision to get together and chat about the ways this transit is reflected through the dreamy scapes of Alice’s journey down the rabbit hole.

In this episode, we let our minds wander and allow ourselves to explore various matters of psyche, healing, and nature. A few topics you’ll hear us exchange ideas about include: Jupiter’s meanings and how they are reflected in the story of Alice in Wonderland; scenes from the early 1950’s animation; commentary on connection to the body and to nature; the meaning and importance of myth and imagination in a human life; the similarity and accessibility of dream states through psychedelics versus sleeping; the curious relationship we keep with time and how Saturn shows up as a main archetypal thread in Alice in Wonderland; how we can’t have Jupiter without Saturn; the wonder of children’s imagination; dream physiology from an East Asian healing perspective; Elodie’s recalling of a synchronous dream and the appearance of the goddess Xiwangmu the night before our conversation; and the symbols in Alice’s dreams based on some Jungian takes.

Coming back to the show after a 2.5+ year pause, I’m publishing the first episode back on the Lunar eclipse in Sagittarius which coincides with the Wu Woo Wednesday series that began in the spring of 2021. In Chinese, Wu is translated as a number of words. A few relevant to this series include: Five (wǔ), as in five spirits or elements, shaman (wū), and dance (wǔ), which is also symbolic in the context of the five elements/spirits.

In this series, I talk about the context of healing through Chinese medicine and what it means to be supporting the continuity of humanity and helping people maintain or return to their sense of being human. That’s quite a feat living in today’s sped up and fragmented world, though I hope to offer inspiration and maybe some clarity when you think about health, healing, medicine, humanity, and what you’re doing here. In this episode we’ll lightly explore the symbolic connections between Jupiter’s transit through Pisces, the nature of dreaming, and the cycle of death and rebirth through various poems and thoughts shared by psychologists, teachers, Taoists, yogis, doctors, healers, spiritual culture, and practitioners of wisdom sciences.
