Let’s face it: As a coach, it can really take a lot of time, money and effort to be successful and reach the point where you want to be. There are networking events to attend, speaking engagements to consider and even podcast interviews to go on.
So the question becomes, How can you get all of this done and build a sustainable profitable coaching practice without burning yourself in the process? Well, that’s exactly what we talked about in this latest episode.
Online summits is something that we’ve all had experience with either being on them or maybe even creating our own online summit. I had a chance to sit down with Jeanne McPhillips, who has had an extensive amount of experience and not only being on the summit and making it work for her from a business perspective, but also in hosting and creating an online event herself.
So if you’re thinking about speaking at an online summit or maybe even hosting your own, then this is the show you wanna hear.
We all know that in order to get more people to work with us as a Coach, they first need to even know that we exist!
Which is why networking is so important, and the topic of discussion today with Su Sarvis.
Let's face it: As Coaches we've got a LOT on our plates. And sometimes it can feel just downright overwhelming to say the least.
Which is why I'm super excited to talk with Cindy Baker as she shares some tips and tricks she covers with her clients on overcoming the overwhelm at work.
This is one you'll definitely want to tune in for.
If you've ever thought about speaking in front of a crowd but not really sure how to be successful doing it then this is the interview you want to tune into.
April Porter is going to tell us some tips and tricks that she uses as a speaker to become more engaging, more inspiring and as a result be more successful with her speaking gigs whether it's a large or small audience.
Be ready to take some notes!
Getting corporate clients is something that is talked about a LOT...and with good reason. High ticket prices that are absolutely guaranteed to pay you.
AND depending on the corporation, you get a nice little image to put on your website. :) But here's the problem: As entrepreneurs, it's almost impossible to find them!
Unless you're Danielle Ralston, who has been doing just fine in that area, thank you very much. And during our talk, she talks about how she's done it. Enjoy.
Let's face it...all of us are SUPER busy. But as Coaches, what are some quick tips / ideas that can help us move forward?
Well Brian's next guest, Kelly Watts answers that through her story and journey to becoming a Coach. It's a show you don't want to miss.
So this was a thought that came to me actually after a prospective client decided not to work with me. But I thought was so interesting because in the long run it worked out for me.
That might not make sense now but if you tune in it most certainly will.
We the chance to sit down with Ryan bachelor from Crux Leaders, talking about what servant leadership looks like as a business owner coach in the context of not only becoming a better coach and a better person but also attracting more clients in the process.
This actually came to me during a coaching session that I was doing with a client friend of mine the other day and it's funny because there are things that I do that I know I'm doing that are successful.
And then as we found out just the other day there are things I'm doing that I don't realize I'm doing that I'm making me successful specifically in the area of generating more referrals as it relates to paying clients and doing so in a way that's not pushy or salesy.
This happens to be one of those.
We had a chance to catch up with Deirdre Beacham talking about how speaking has transformed her coaching business.
And interestingly enough she gets a lot of her free speaking from a source that you might definitely be aware of but certainly something that I didn't consider when it comes to getting deals.
Some good stuff.
What's the secret ingredient to generating more referrals? Something that's been staring you right in the face the entire time.
What's the one thing you've done to be successful as a coach? That's a question I get asked a fair amount of times and after 20 plus years of being a speaker in a coach here's my answer.
As someone who's been a coach since 2001 I've seen a lot of different advice and techniques that people are saying you need to do to be successful. But here's one of my personal secrets for getting higher paying clients without being pushy or salesy.
We all know that referrals are the lifeblood of our coaching practice. But what can we do to proactively generate those referrals on a consistent basis?
Tune in as popular speaker and best-selling author Brian Hilliard talks about a couple of different things that you might want to think about doing in that regard.
Do you want a super simple secret for attracting more paying clients? Of course we all do!
Here's a quick hitter from popular speaker and best-selling author Brian Hilliard on how to do exactly that.
As someone who's written 8 books myself, people sometimes ask me if I think THEM writing their first book is a big deal. And while it's NOT the entire end of the world not to have a book, I really do think that if you're going to have a serious conversation around speaking and being a top flight coach...then HAVING a book makes a lot easier.
So with that said, we had a chance to catch up with Charlotte Booth who specializes in showing people how to do exactly that - start and finish - their very first business book. :)
Sometimes people ask me what are some good ideas for getting paying clients and setting themselves up for success from a paid presentation.
And here's something that I came up with a client friend of mine Paul Newton out in the UK.
We had a chance to catch up with Shelia Malcom, Life Coach in the Atlanta, GA area, as we talked about what it takes to bounce back from business adversity.
Because as a Coach, even though we "know" a lot of this stuff, being to apply it to our own situation / business is huge...and Shelia covered that to perfection. :)
Ahhh, referrals! They're the lifeblood of any coaching business. But what can you do to proactively generate more referrals without having to just sit and hope that clients past perspective clients your way? Great question and one that Popular Speaker and Coach Brian Hilliard tackles head-on.
With so many different ways to generate more business it can sometimes be confusing to know which way to go. Listen in to our latest episode as Coach and Popular Speaker Brian Hilliard talks about the one thing that he's personally doing to generate more paying clients.
This was a mistake that I was making ALL the time when it came to generating paying clients and scaling my business. Here's the adjustment. :)
This is something that I've personally been doing for a while but is something that I still see a lot of people make this mistake went out networking. And I just wanted to clear it up as succinctly as I could that way you're not unintentionally sabotaging your success when it comes to building a word of mouth coaching practice.
So we all know that referrals of the lifeblood of our business. But the question becomes what can we do to proactively drive those referrals in a way that will actually drive referrals on a more consistent basis? Great question and stay tuned as I show you exactly what I personally do to drive a consistent word of mouth business strategy.
Here's a little secret that I've been using for the past 3 years that has REALLY helped in terms of getting paying clients, and doing so in a way that's NOT pushy or "salesy".
You'll be surprised as to how simple it really is. :)
Are you looking to get into public speaking for your coaching practice, but don't consider yourself a "natrual" speaker?
Then you'll want to tune in for this latest interview with James Carson, as he talks about finding your voice, and being successful...even if you're an "introvert". :)
As someone who speaks and coaches for a living I wanted to share with you a "dirty little secret" that most industry veterans don't want you to know. (Loud, forboding music.) :)
A book is something that just about everyone knows they really should have if they are going to be successful in branding themselves as a Coach and/or Speaker.
But knowing that you need one and getting one started can be two different things!
Which is why I brought in my friend James Palmer to talk shop about what he recommends people do who are looking to go down that road.
As someone who's done his fair share of speaking (both free and paid), this is my personal "secret sauce" if you will that can absolutely assist in getting more paid speaking gigs.
If you're already speaking right now, then this is a pretty easy way to start getting referrals for paid gigs.
Sooooo, thinking about writing a book but not sure if it's something you want to do?
Or maybe you're not conviced that writting a book is a good idea to enhancing your profile and becoming a Trusted Advisor?
Regardless, we had a chance to talk to Everett O'Keefe who brought up some really good points about getting published, and how that can positively impact your coaching/speaking business.
This is something you'll want to check out!
I don't know about you guys, but LinkedIn can sometimes feel like the most under utilized element in your social media repertiore.
You've got all of these people online.
You've got a fair amount of "followers".
But gosh darn it, how can you translate that into paying clients?
Chris Colt comes with answers. :)
Well it's here...the NEW YEAR!
And here's a question I'm asking EVERYONE (including myself) as we head into the next 12 months.
So maybe you're speaker who has been asked on occasion to deliver a (free) presentation to a group of folks.
"No problem.
It's a good way to get some exposure and if it turns into some paying clients, then I actually don't have to worry about getting paid," is maybe what you're thinking.
So how can you increase your chances of this happening WITHOUT being pushy or salesy?
Great question and one we tackle in this latest episode.
Well it's that time of year again...what's worked, what's not and more importantly...what are YOU going to do to get different / better results?
Here are 2 (more) things that I'm either personally doing (and would recommend you consider), or am going to do going forward myself.
I think you'll like them.
Well it's that time of year again...what's worked, what's not and more importantly...what are YOU going to do to get different / better results?
Here are 3 things that I'm either personally doing (and would recommend you consider), or am going to do going forward myself.

As Coaches, we all know that private sessions and small group classes are a great way to better monetize your expertise.
But it turns out there's another tried and true way that you might have forgotten about. :)
Angelic Marnier talks to us about the what and how of making this additional revenue stream happen.
This is something that actually came up during one of my private session client calls...
I think you'll like it. :)
One of the biggest challenges that speakers have when trying to get more paid speaking gigs is not knowing where to do exactly.
Well here is a super simple way that you can start doing today that will absolutely help you get more paid speaking gigs.
We had a chance to catch up with Pamela DeRitis as she talks about what as Coaches (who might be a little camera shy), can do to get on screen and get that content flowing!
We had a chance to catch up with Michael Haynes recently, all the way from Australia, as he talked about some Business 2 Business Growth Tools that can absolutely translated to growing your Coaching practice.
Some good stuff.
This was an interesting point regarding a potential solution for a challenge of not being able to generate a consistent stream of higher paying clients.
As you can see I was at the pool when I shot this but I think it's a really good first step that a lot of people can take if they're already speaking right now and are looking to get paid what they're worth as a speaker.
This is a question that comes up a LOT.
And actually it's not so much, getting out to a wider audience in general, but rather getting it out to a larger number of QUALIFIED people who are open to working with you.
And interestingly enough, THAT answer has to do more with what I call setting some "standards" for perspective clients in general.
Tune in to learn more.
One of the biggest hurdles coaches face in getting higher paying clients is packaging their story in a language that perspective paying clients understand.
So yes, we get that you're passionate and really fired up about helping others.
But until you can package that in a way that solves THEIR problem...well, let's just say it's a lot harder to win games on a consistent basis.
The good news?
Coach & Best-Selling Author goes over some thoughts for better packaging your story so you CAN get more higher paying clients...without being pushy or salesy. :)
What's a good first step towards getting more paid speaking gigs? Well Popular Speaker & Coach Brian Hilliard says the answer lies a LOT closer than you might think.
This is something that I actually started doing awhile ago, and I think has been instrumental in me getting the attention of Program and Conference Chairs who are considering having me come in and speak.
Boy now THAT title says it all, doesn't it?
Listen in as we talk to David Andrew, author of the new book, "Book of 101 Thoughts: How to Master Your Mind & Conquer Your World."
This is some really, really good stuff.
A lot of people say that they want to get paid to speak. And for a lot of those folks (including myself when I was getting going), they let this common misconception hold them back when it comes to getting paid speaking gigs. :(
You don't have to be that person. :)
This is a question that comes up A LOT. And with good reason...you have an expertise that others want to hire, and they should pay you what you're worth.
During this episode we'll go over how I would go about figuring that out...even if you're just starting out. :)
Getting paid to speak can sometimes seem like this overwhelming mountain that you'll never get to the top of. And I can totally understand that.
But if you want to really start going down that road of getting paid to speak, here's the absolute first thing you'll need to do to get started.
Thinking about writing your first book but feeling overwhelmed or not sure how to get started?
Then this is the interview you'll definitely want to catch, as Brian talks with Heidi Scott Guisto, editor for not only 2 of his own personal books, but also others (more famous). :)
You ever feel like paying clients are all around you, but for whatever reason you just don't have as many as you'd like?
Like, you see posts, "Oh I'm so proud to have landed these $1MM deal" or "Oh, I'm so blessed to be speaking at the Tony Robbins Date w/Destiny" or whatever, and you're like, why aren't even a FRACTION of those paying clients coming to me?
Well if so, then you're not alone.
And today, I talk about the perfect place to find paying clients for your practice.
Ah, the tirekicker...we're ALL very familiar with them.
Time guzzling, non buyers who have ALL kinds of time to talk...but never any money to actually move forward. :(
Well, we're going to talk about 3 things that I personally look for to avoid tirekickers.
Enjoy.
We had a chance to catch up with James & Kelly West all the way from the UK, as they give some tips and tricks around networking - both online and in person - so that you can get more referrals from everyone you meet. Some good stuff.
We had a chance to catch up with Rich Botrager to talk about some do's and don'ts for knocking it out of the park during your next virtual presentation or podcast interview!
I talk a lot about skillset here on the show, but today I wanted to get into 1 thing that is absolutely essentially towards unlocking the growth of your Practice. That's right, we dive into mindset for a second just to make sure you're headed in the right direction towards success!
We all know that referrals are the lifeblood of your business...but how can you proactively generate those referrals on a consistent basis?
Maile Collmer stopped by to answer that EXACT question...stay tuned.
We had a chance to catch up with a friend of mine, Martin Selville, as we talked a little shop as it relates to branding and growing your coaching practice.
This is something I got from a Client Friend of mine (Martin Selville) out in the UK. Really good stuff.
This is something we're ALL guilty of.
And it's hurting your business.
Like, you'll want to listen to this right now. :)
I don't know about you, but I sometimes find myself asking, "Where are all of the paying clients!?!"
Right?
Like, you're talking to people...they're taking a BUNCH of notes...loving what you said...then it's time to pull out the check book and all KINDs of reasons come out of the woodwork.
So question I want to tackle today: Why do people buy in the first place?
Good news, because it turns out there's actually 5 reasons. :)
We had a chance to catch up with Bryne Boyer the other day and it was some really good stuff in an area that I personally haven't really talked about a lot...non profit partners.
Bryne is down in the Dallas, TX area and has been doing some great things to move herself and her community forward.
Looking to get past the same old same old, and instead want some DRASTIC improvements to your coaching practice?
Then you've come to the right place as Toni Harris-Taylor is in the HOUSE today.
(Obviously that's figuratively as it's only Nero & Baxter here right now.)
Anyway, good stuff!
We had a chance to catch up with Heather Abbott as she talked about how she's personally branded and grown her own coaching practice.
We had a chance to catch up with Speaker & Coach Barbara Daoust, as we talked about the mindset of success and how "thinking" your way into the results you want is HUGE for growing your practice.
Some good stuff!
We had a chance to catch up Talia Dashow as she talked about overcoming perfectionism and procrastination when it comes to moving your coaching practice forward. This was some good stuff...I think you'll like it.
We had a chance to catch up Basile Lemba as he talked about how to better leverage networking activities into more bottom line paying clients for your coaching practice.
He's got a unique story and way of saying things that I KNOW you'll enjoy.
We had a chance to catch up with Nancy Giere and talk about packaging your story and bundling your brilliance in a way that makes it real easy for you to bring clients in the door.
It's some good stuff that don't want to miss.
We had a chance to catch up with Carolyn Choate as she shared her thoughts on how getting new paying clients doesn't have to feel like this giant uphill (both ways) walk in the snow.
As a matter of fact, there's just one wod that you want to keep in mind. (Hint: It begins with a "p"...or an "f" depending.)
We had a chance to catch up with Lord Alford Jenson from the Speaker's Lab, as he talks about some do's and don'ts related to getting paying clients from speaking engagements.
This is some good stuff you don't want to miss. :)
This is a tough one because to be honest it can feel VERY OVERWHELMING. :(
If you're like I was, you know that you have to produce high quality content on a regular basis if you want to get out there and be able to impact more lives, but on the other hand it can feel...
Very.
Overwhelming.
So with that said, I invited Nero along to help us unpack this pesky little issue. Oh and as always, feel free to like, share or comment below...I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Let's face it: Producing high quality content is the quickest way for expanding your reach and getting out to a wider audience.
But how can you do that with out the overwhelm? Great question and one that tackle head on here from Lake Rim out in North Carolina.
Oh, and as always, feel free to like, share or comment...I'd love to hear your thoughts!
You ever feel like you have soooo much good stuff to talk about, that when someone asks you to "tell me a little bit about what kind of coaching you do", you're hard pressed to relay a powerful and succinct message of what you do?
If so, then I feel your pain, because I used to have the EXACT SAME challenge when I was getting going with my practice.
And believe me, it wasn't pretty. But fast forward to today and not only do I have a clear, consistent marketing message that quickly articulates what I do and who I am...but does so in a way that allows me to impact more lives because others WANT to hear more. Imagine that... :)
After being a Coach for close to 20 yrs, I've finally figured out the 1 Thing that ALL paying clients have in common (at least when it comes to working and hiring me as a Coach).
And I'll bet you never would have guessed. Feel free to like, share or comment below...I'd love to hear your thoughts!
The Law of Attraction is something we hear about a LOT. But how can you leverage that very powerful force into something that helps you in the here now in your business?
Great question and one that I talk about with some personal experience.
This is something I run into a LOT. And it trips up a LOT of coaches and consultants looking to get higher paying clients.
And it's actually a LOT easier to fix than most people give it credit for.
(You see a theme here?)
Anyway, tune in as Coach & Best-Selling Author Brian Hilliard shares this common mistake that is holding a LOT of people back getting paying clients. :(
It's that time again...you know what I'm talking about...
New Year...New You!!!
So with that said, here are 5 things that I'm personally doing to move forward as we head into 2022.
This was something that I actually picked up in a training (Taylor Welch) and has REALLY changed how I approach things when it comes to the money conversation.
Enjoy.
Everyone LOVES good free advice. But how can you has a qualified service professional get to yes in the form of more paying clients?
Great question and one that Best-selling author Brian Hilliard handles in this video.
Well, we did it...Episode #200.
I have to say it doesn't feel like that much time has gone by since the first one went out.
But looking back, here are some lessons learned during the last 200 episodes...and beyond! :)
We had a chance to catch up with Jo Seawright, and talked about some good stuff as it relates to the eMyth and just being a "turnaround" coach in general.
Really good stuff.
Have you ever felt scattered or all over the place when trying to quickly explain to others what it is you do?
And its not like you don't know, because you do.
But that's part of the problem. You can do soooo much for soooo many people, that it can sometimes feel a little overwhelming when trying to streamline your message into something succinct.
During this episode Brian talks about some different ideas for creating a crystal clear marketing message that resonates with your audience.
Enjoy!
We all know that high quality content, published via social or other online avenues is a great first step towards getting your message out to a wider audience.
But what we sometimes struggle with is WHAT type of content do people want to hear, so that they'll actually watch, click and listen.
That's a question that I've personally dealt with myself, and I have 3 ways that I've used over the years in order to help me get people to do just that.
Getting a steady stream of PAYING clients can be a challenge, no question about it.
But what's the 1 Thing they ALL WANT?
Tune in as Coach & Best-Selling Author Brian Hilliard lays it out.
This is a question that I get a LOT and quite frankly was an area where I struggled with for awhile.
Because on one hand I knew that if I wanted to "get out there" and expand my reach to a wider audience, that I needed to produce content.
But at the same time, it was a little overwhelming to know how much I should produce...what should I say...and how often should it go out among other things.
So today we're going to tackle that "how often should it go out" part so you can get some good stuff out there...WITHOUT feeling overwhelmed in the process!
So we all know that in order to get our message out to a wider audience need to really get after it online.
And more specifically, with some content based marketing that leverages social media in a way to increase the awareness of others about you, right?
And while all of that is true, the prospect can be a little overwhelming, so I wanted to give you a quick tip on how I get that ball rolling (from idea to an actual video) on a clip that has me averaging 3 to 5 videos a week, that I can then turn around and "get out there".
Anyway, here you go...
Looking to get your message out to a wider audience, but might feel a bit overwhelmed in the process?
Totally hear you.
Today I talk about a pretty straight forward way of getting your message and expanding your reach...without feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
This is a question I've run into on occasion as most gurus and experts say, "Absolutely!"
Well, I have a little different take and have no problems sharing it real quick.
And as always, feel free to like, share or comment below...I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Looking to get your message out to a wider audience, but might feel a bit overwhelmed and not sure where to start?
I hear that.
Today I talk about a good first step you can take to expand your reach and get your message out into the world!
As a Coach since 2001 and author of 7 books, I took a few minutes to talk about what I think is one of my "secret ingredients" as it relates getting my message out to a wider audience.
And because I'm a good guy I'll give you a hint: Its a lot less "doing" of something then you might think.
Anyway, tune in and find out for yourself.
So we all know who Oprah is. (And if you don't, stop reading immediately and step away from your phone.)
But seriously, what can one of America's most media influential people tell us about impacting more lives as a Coach?
Great question and one Brian tackles in his latest podcast.
This is actually something that I literally JUST got finished doing myself, and I think can make a real difference for getting your message out to a wider audience over the days and weeks ahead.
I normally don't like to use that level of hyperbole when it comes to titles or topics, but in my mind, this is EXACTLY that.
What is it you ask...tune and find out. :)
With December here and 2021 coming on full steam, I've had people ask me what they can do now to set themselves up for success in the New Year.
And while that's a pretty big question, I wanted to talk about 1 thing that you can do right now to set yourself up for more clients in 2021 and beyond. :)
This was a real treat as I had a chance to catch with Einav Avni, who as a coach works with people who are feeling stuck or out of sorts, and talks about creating a roadmap to where they can get unstuck, be more confident and have the inner drive to know that they are indeed good enough!
Some really thought provoking stuff.
As a Coach we hear all the time that you need to build your brand online, otherwise people aren't going to even know you exist...which is absolutely true.
So today I had a chance to talk to Kristin Louise Heneghan about creating that brand, along with something she calls a "Hub Site", and how it can help you be more successful and get more known online.
Enjoy!
As an author of 7 books myself, I can tell you from first hand experience that writing a book isn't easy.
But I can also tell you that its been extremely beneficial to my coaching practice in terms of getting my message out to a wider audience.
So as 2021 approaches, I was able to catch up with Book Coach Ginny Carter to talk about some ways that you can make this process a whole lot easier.
We had a chance to catch up with Doreen Ritchie the other day as she talked about overcoming the overwhelm, and how excess worry, concern and anxiety is wearing...
People.
Out.
Especially with everything that is going on the world.
So if you or someone you know is experiencing some challenge as it relates just feeling worn out and overwhelmed...then you really owe it yourself to tune in.
If you're trying to expand your reach and become a Trusted Authority in your field, then you'll want to AVOID this common mistake at all costs.
This something that first made me want to do an interview with Maria...this notion of people looking externally for internal validation.
Its something that I've seen with increasing frequency among some of the folks I interact with and I wanted to get her take on how someone could be successful, and also find internal fulfillment at the same time.
The answer wasn't exactly what I thought. :)
We had a chance to talk with Sarah Lynes about quiet self belief, and how as a "quiet" person herself, what she's done to have her voice heard.
That's a great question.
And for people looking to expand their reach and become a Trusted Authority in their field, it can be super important to know if that's an area where they should focus their efforts.
Well, I answer that head on (while on a hike none the less!)
"Creating success ahead of time"...that's what my latest guest said when it comes to building your coaching practice.
And for her, a BIG part of that is putting some systems in place to help you make being successful in business a WHOLE LOT easier. Anyway, this is one you'll absolutely want to check out.

Actually it has less to do with what you DO do and much more with what you don't.
Tune in as Coach & Best-Selling Author Brian Hilliard explains.
We've all seen the statistics...more and more coaches are flooding the industry.
And while that isn't a bad thing, it certainly is something that each and every coach has to take into account when talking to perspective clients.
So how does a Leadership Coach do it?
Well tune in as Brian talks to Leadership Coach Juliet Morris as she shares some of her thoughts and ideas for doing just that.
People ask me all the time: Brian, I want to expand my reach and get my message out into the world more, and in order to do that, I know I have to produce high quality content.
But my question is: How can I do that on a consistent basis, because in the past when I've tried, it worked for a couple of weeks, and then I just got overwhelmed and eventually stopped.
Help!
Neusa Catoja, Speaker & Transformational Coach stopped by to talk about self love, filling your cup and how to stop being everything to everyone and be at peace with yourself.
Good stuff!
That's an interesting question and one I actually have thought about myself in recent days.
Here's what I personally do when it comes to groups.
We had a chance to catch up with Leadership Coach & Speaker Kim-Adele Platts as she talks about rising above the impostor syndrome and getting comfortable with being good enough and her process for developing referrals from people on social media.
And as always, feel free to like, share or comment below...I'd love to hear your thoughts!
When it comes to expanding your reach and impacting more lives, it can sometimes feel SOO overwhelming that you're not sure where to start. I totally get that. Different platforms, different techniques, different people telling you to do different (and sometimes) conflicting things. It can be a lot. But I wanted to cut through the clutter today and talk about 3 words that can absolutely get you started down the road of expanding your reach, impacting more lives and becoming a Trusted Authority in your field. And as always, feel free to like, share or comment...I always love hearing your thoughts! SHOW LESS
We had a chance to chat with Hattie Volecker who is all about getting yourself out there, and what you can do to not only do that more successful, but get out of your own way in the process! :)
She's got some tips and tricks that she shares which really resonated with me and hope they will with you to.
And as always, feel free to like, share or comment below...I'd love to hear your thoughts!
This is a question I get a lot.
People recognize that in order to expand their reach and impact more lives, that they need to produce high quality content that positions them as a Trusted Authority in their field.
The problem is that the prospect of having to do ALL of that content can be...well, overwhelming to think about to say the least.
But today I'll talk about what I do to consistently produce high quality content, and get my message out to a wider audience, WITHOUT the overwhelm. :)
We had a chance to catch up with Sabastien Roger de Nunez as he talks about how to scale your impact, grow your income...oh, and have fun while you're doing it!
Some good stuff.
After being a Coach for close to 20 yrs, I've finally figured out the 1 Thing that ALL paying clients have in common (at least when it comes to working and hiring me as a Coach).
And I'll bet you never would have guessed.
Well, what more is there to say?
This really did answer a ton of questions for me...and gave me some food for thought as it related my own self growth and development.
Referrals and clients working with you on a consistent basis is the lifeblood of ANY business.
But what should you as coach or service practitioner focus on in order to get those types of results?
The short answer: The client experience.
Tune in as Brian's guest Marcia Whyte talks about that more.
This is a good question and one that people ask a lot, because to be honest: Knowing that you have a great message and knowing that you can impact more people's lives is one thing.
But with all of the choices on platforms and social media channels and ALL of that stuff, it can be overwhelming to know where to start!
So stay tuned as Coach & Best-Selling Author Brian Hilliard talks about a good first step towards getting your message out into the world. :)
This is a question I get asked ALL of the time.
And for good reason too, since with all the choices out there, it can downright frustrating (and certainly confusing) trying to figure out which one is best for getting the word out to a wider audience.
So which one do I think is the best one for reaching a wider audience?
Good question...and the answer just might surprise you. :)
This is a question I get a lot: Ok Brian, so you're telling me that I need to produce more content to increase my visibility, fine.
So what should I write about exactly?
Again, great question and one we'll tackle head on in our latest video. :)
I had a chance to catch up with Health & Weight Loss Coach Lisa Ali coming to us all the way from Spain, and talk about some different ways to stay healthy, stay fit and feeling good as we head into the Summer.
Looking to expand your reach and impact even more people as a Trusted Authority in your field?
Or maybe you've been doing fine in your local market the past little bit, but now you're looking to get front of more people and reach a wider audience?
Well say no more as Popular Speaker & Best-Selling Author Brian Hilliard shows you 3 steps on how you can do just that.
That's a good question since everyone at one time or another has gotten burned in the past.
Here's my answer...
With sooo much going on in today's world, I thought it would be nice to catch up with Transformational Life Coach David Andrew as he talks about finding peace in today's turbulent world.
Enjoy.
Let's face it: Most of us have a terrific story.
And that makes sense, because its usually that story which propelled and fueled us to be a Coach in the first place.
But here's the thing...just having a story in today's day and age isn't good enough. :(
Yes it's a good start, but there also has to be something that else that you do in order to make it resonate with perspective clients.
"What is that?" you might ask.
Great question and one we tackle head on in this video.
This is something that was the bane of my existence for AWHILE. :(
How can I turn all of that social media into actual paying clients?
And while that's a big question, I have a quick answer on something you can do right now...and its in the most unlikeliest of places. :)
So I had a chance to catch up with Lynn Kindler down in Austin TX as we talked about some of the different tips and tricks she used while podcasting her show on Blog Talk Radio.
(Yea, that's old school, but some good stuff none the less!)
Anyway, she shared what she did back then and how she's going to do something similar in her up and coming podcast that she's getting ready to launch in a few weeks.
Good stuff and certainly you don't want to miss it.
This is something that is SUPER easy, totally ethical and you'll be like, "I can't believe I'm not doing this more!"
So obviously getting engagement on social is a big thing and for good reason...because it gets people involved with your content and ultimately leads to them potentially being a client.
And while most people define engagement as "likes" and comments and things like that, there's actually another avenue - after you get that like from someone - where you can continue to go down the engagement role and be quite successful in the process.
THAT's what we'll talk about during this episode! :)
So maybe you've heard of Public Relations before (aka "pr"), but you think its expensive.
Or only for the Big Boys.
Or not something that would work for you?
Well think again as PR Coach Laura Perkes talks about how you can use PR to get beyond social media and really turbo charge you business.
I just got back from walking Baxter (our 2nd dog) and I had this interesting thought on how you can get more referrals.
I can't believe it but we are 150 episodes into this thing, and I for one am grateful for your listenership and staying with me all this time.
And if this is the first time listening, then welcome aboard...the water is just fine.
So today I wanted to share a quick lesson I've personally picked up actually just recently.
Enjoy and again, thank you.
I got the opportunity to interview Suman Mangra who is a Mindset & Personal Empowerment Coach out in the UK, and we talked about what you can do as a coach to develop a business mindset that allows you to make a decent living while doing what you love to do.
This is the latest installment of an ongoing conversation we've been having not only here on the Show but also with clients, on how to not only stop chasing tirekickers, but how you can tell the difference between that and "follow up".
So today, we look at 3 concrete examples - directly from my personal business experience - that I think can really help solidify this for you.
Enjoy!
Yea, that's a little bit of a harsh title, but when you tune in you'll see what Brian's talking about.
This was actually something that was brought to my attention by a client, and after hearing it I was like, "That is absolutely right!"
And then I did what any person would...I created a podcast :)
This was an idea that I got from a book I was reading, Jewel of the Abundance by Ellen O'Brien and it was very, very good...highly recommended.
So I took the liberty of talking about one of the good points I thought was mentioned as it related to success, and more specifically, what holds us back from it.
2 words you say!
2 words I say.
"2 Words to Remember for getting a steady stream of higher paying clients...how can that be?" you say.
Well, all I can say is that when I started focusing on these two words, and being intentional with them in my practice, things got better.
This is something I see people do ALL the time when it comes to holding themselves back from getting higher paying clients. :(
Here in the States its playoffs time (American Football) and being the big sports fan I am, I thought it was time we ALL raised our game a bit.
Here's how...
Here's a question that - when asked from a place of integrity - will absolutely help you unlock your potential and capacity for getting more higher paying clients...without being pushy or salesy.
This is something that I was doing a little bit, but not nearly as intentionally as I could have been...so I wanted to share. :)
Happy New Year everyone...hope you had a restful break and are ready to go for 2020! BTW: It was my birthday last Friday and I'm feeling particularly energized as we tackle the year ahead.
So with that said, I went ahead and got us off to a good start regarding 3 Crucial Components you'll definitely want to keep in mind when it comes to getting higher paying clients in 2020.
Enjoy.
Normally I don't like to get into that kind of hyperbole when it comes to titles, but in this case I made an exception.
Want to know something that will absolutely help you be more successful as you head towards 2020?
Tune in as Coach & Best-Selling Author Brian Hilliard breaks it down.
This is a continuation of a popular conversation on what makes some people successful...while others are not.
This was something that actually got revealed to me while at the Dog Trainer the other day. :)
This is something that I really got intentional with over the past couple of years and has had a real impact on my ability to work with higher paying clients. :)
Now before we go all crazy, our dog trainer didn't literally go out and help me get a client. So I don't want there to be any misunderstanding. :)
But what she did do was provide some insight on how both you and I can continue to ethically attract clients without being pushy or salesy.
And I'll speak for myself...I just wasn't expecting that from the dog trainer.
What's the secret to ethically attracting clients, without being pushy, salesy or otherwise over the top?
Coach & Best-Selling Author Brian Hilliard has an idea. :)
Everyone is busy and doesn't have a ton of time.
Yet most people want to work with clients and have an impact in their lives.
So the question becomes, how can you stop chasing people who won't work with you, while still following up with those who will?
Great question and something that actually came to me over the weekend.
This was something that came to me the other day and I wanted to lay it out for you as it related to my experience for differentiating tirekickers from "real" potential clients.
I think you'll find it interesting.
This is a question that comes up a lot. Is the reason why I'm not getting as much clients as I'd like because maybe I don't have the right certification?
Its a good question and the answer might surprise you.
This is actually something that I've talked about before, but hasn't appeared on a lot of people's radars in terms of dealing with one of the hidden challenges for getting higher paying clients.
So...I did a quick deep dive on this otherwise lesser known way! :)
I wanted to share with you an experience I had recently that was a really tough lesson for me to have learn as a Coach, but is hopefully something you can take with you and potentially avoid this situation all together.
Now just so we're clear, I am 100% a Referral Man.
I love referrals.
I look for referrals.
I have processes in place for me to generate and produce more referrals.
But for me, there's a truth about referrals, that when you think about it, will probably dramatically change the way you think about and go about getting more referrals going forward.
This was something that actually hit me while I was in the gym, so I wanted to let you know real quick. :)
So we're back from Summer Vacation and jumping right back into the fray with an interesting question. And just as a hint, the answer is actually "yes" for most Coaches. :(
This is something that personally struggled with for awhile.
Everyone kept saying I needed to produce more content and put it out on social and all of this and that, but did that actually transition into paying coaching clients?
Great question and one I tackle head on.
You ever feel like you're just stuck where you are? Maybe you're not feeling as fulfilled in your current niche or maybe you're looking for a new direction in your coaching practice...
Well your in luck because Coach Jennifer Slay stopped by the studio to talk about ways to get "unstuck" and get your mojo back!
Ahhh, the tirekicker.
The person who spends a bunch of our time picking our brains...only to say "I can't afford you" at the end.
Here's another way to spot this person, BEFORE wasting a ton of time! :)
Here are a couple of questions that sound easy enough to ask, but once answered properly, will absolutely help you get a steady stream of higher paying coaching clients.
This is actually something that I've been doing for awhile, but I didn't realize it until a client of mine and I were talking the other day about her situation and how this could help.
This was actually something I ran across while talking to a perspective client. It was interesting what they did and how that relates to us moving forward in terms of getting higher paying clients.
I think this one is really interesting as I had to reach back into my High School (American) football days to adequately describe!
So I know this is unusual, but it's probably something you'll better understand after hearing the audio. :)
This was a question I got on LinkedIn the other day, and I wanted to share my specific response. :)
I actually got this point from a good friend of mine, Martin Williams out in the UK...he made it while we were talking and it made a lot of sense!
It was something that I instantly recognized, and have actually been saying in a different way, but hadn't heard it put this way (which is awesome!).
As most of you guys know by now, I'm all about charging and getting paid what your worth as a Coach. So much so, I had a chance to sit down with Vanessa Ugutti who talks a lot about that, to get her perspective on what can sometimes be a somewhat vexing issue for coaches.
