Oh, right! Sports director Andrew Goldstein looks back on arguably the most consequential single game in UGA football history and singles out the unit most responsible for the Dawgs' victory. Plus, why UGA's victory over Alabama is different than a few of the other teams to beat the Tide in recent memory. (And why that's a good thing!)

Then we move on to the REAL final bowl game of the year, the 2022 Blitz Border Bowl! Both teams are well into their practice schedule and that's good, because this game kicks off in less than 48 hours from the time this podcast goes up. Team Coastal Empire has a 2-1 lead in Border Bowls...can Team LowCo even the score?

We also invite Team Coastal Empire head coach Kyle Hockman on to talk about where his squad is at going into the game and what he hopes his kids get out of the Border Bowl experience.

WSAV Sports is headed to Indianapolis!

The Georgia Bulldogs are playing the Alabama Crimson Tide on Monday, Jan. 10 for their first national title since 1980. It's one of the most important games in UGA history, so we naturally had to devote a whole podcast episode to it.

Andrew Goldstein takes us through the top storylines on the Georgia side of the football, including Stetson Bennett's Orange Bowl resurgence and the Dawgs' stellar offensive line play. Plus, we lay out what has to happen for UGA's secondary to not get torched this time like they did in the SEC Championship Game.

After that, sports director Chris Breece joins the podcast to discuss the Alabama side of the equation! Is the Crimson Tide offense different without John Metchie? Can we expect to see the Tide come with a more run-focused attack like they did against Cincinnati? And which Tide player is the X factor in this game.

Cedric also offers his opinion about the state of high school basketball in the area, any residual effects from the abbreviated COVID season and the growing buzz around HBCU Athletics.

We just saw Southeast Bulloch take home its first-ever flag football state championship and Benedictine football is going for a state title Friday, but it's also the end of an era for our sports department.

For those of you who don't know, weekend sports anchor and reporter Connor DelPrete has accepted a new job in Atlanta at Bally Sports South and will be leaving us on Sunday. In his last podcast as co-host, Connor and sports director Andrew Goldstein reflect on his 3+ years at the company and talk about his favorite memories on and off the job.

After turning the program around and helping to lead the program to new heights, Savannah State football head coach Shawn Quinn announced he was resigning Wednesday morning.

Our sports department discusses the sudden news, what may have led to this decision, and what to look for in the next SSU head coach.
