Peter lays a foundation in chapter 1 because of the strong warning that is coming in chapter 2. False teachers will come among us and Peter does not want us to be caught off guard.
Peter reminds us that we are partakers of the divine nature and as such we are to be sure of our calling by God.
Peter teaches us about the importance of our relationship with god, our relationship with one another and our service of God through our serving of one another.
In Exodus 34 we find the most complete picture of what God say\'s His mercy is going to look like but how are we meant to respond?
God tells us that one of His names is \'Jealous\' but what does the Jealousy of God look like?
God answers His children\'s cries of distress: In spite of our guilt; in spite of His Judgement; in impossible circumstances; in the nick of time; sometimes in stages and in order for God to get the glory.
Following on from last week we see the three principles at work in Elijah\'s life, at work in the life of David. David was God\'s man, he carried the presence of God and he had something to say.

John the Baptist declared, \"Behold, the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world,\" at the apearance of Jesus which created an image of the first Passover in the minds of those who heard but how would Jesus become that passover lamb and how could he remove sin?
Why should we expect the Holy Spirit to fill us? He was prophesied in the Old Testament, experienced by the early church and fills us so that we can powerfully display and reveal God.
Being born again means we are made alive spiritually and the Holy Spirit has an active part in this.
The Holy Spirit - Who is He? Fully God, a person, promised, predicted and with us. Ezekiel 36:26-27
Jude reminds us about the Apostolic warnings of false teaching and error that can creep into the body believers. How do we guard against this and help those that are deceived? Jude gives us four principles that we are to be pro-active in.
This morning we begin a short sermon series on the book of Jude. In part one, Jude\'s warning is about false teaching and error that can invade the church and erode the truth.
Resurrection - The Truth. Jesus said He would rise from the dead. His body was not in the tomb and it was never produced. The disciples were radically changed and there were many eyewitnesses of the actual event but what does the resurrection mean for us today?
As we move to the arrest and trial of Jesus we see that there are actually two trials taking place at the same time. Peter may have a testimony of shame but he allows Jesus to transform his mind and give him a proclamation of glory.
Jesus shows extravagant love at the cross which evokes a response and the nameless woman in this text responds with all that she can.
God will always be victorious so what is wrong with the world? What is His blueprint in Christ for our salvation?
Why should we love God? We love God and we love others because He first loved us....and therefore we are motivated to love God with all our hearts, our souls, our minds and all our strength, and to love others too.
What are you living for? We are all meant to be living for something that is of eternal value that we allow to change and shape our lives.
Jesus has just presented himself as the long awaited king but now His authority causes conflict with the Jewish religious leaders.

The picture that we receive through the story of Bartimaeus is one of freedom. Freedom fro guilt, freedom from lies and freedom from sin.
Jesus is on the road to Jerusalem and before Him, lays the most momentous events in history. Just out side Jericho, Jesus tells his disciples of his death for the third time and out of this, an opportunity flows for him to teach us what his church looks like.

The heart of the Bridge Church is to see lives changed with God’s love grace and power and this is reflected in our values. This morning we are looking at being biblical and the importance of being a biblical people.
Ths mornings story looks at the tension between the oppressor and the oppressed. Is it possible to oppose the oppressor but at the same time, extend comfort to them? Luke 19 provides us with a unique opportunity to reflect on Jesus\' dealings with both.
What does it mean to be obedient to God and how much will it cost? Peter Collinson helps us to try and answer some of these searching questions.
The main application of Acts is to be a witness. In Acts 16, we see Paul and his companions turn difficult circumstances into an opportunity to demonstrate the saving power of God’s love, through His witnesses.

We all need to receive the healing power of grace. Through Adam we are all guilty of breaking God’s commandments but through Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, we are set free from the law through faith and by grace.

The question before us this morning is “Does God heal today?” More importantly and maybe crucially the question should also be, “why should we expect Him to?”
This week, from Isaiah 44 we find God’s righteous indigence at idol worship and yet, in His grace we learn that, He alone is the only one that can provide the solution to our disobedience.
From Isaiah 43 we see that although we belong to God, sometimes life is not easy. The footpath may not always be paved, however we find we are never alone. We walk with the living God who is more than willing to provide and forgive.
From chapter one of Hebrews, we look at both the joy and the suffering that is held in tension through the person and work of Jesus Christ, and it's implications for us.
Nick Green from City Church, Cambridge tells us that when we understand how radical God's saving grace is, we can not help but be amazed and changed.
The Bible tells us: ‘And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.’ Hebrews 11:6 Hezekiah, in the mists of the destruction of a nation, embarks on a journey of faith.

Psalm 16. God will graciuosly give us all things. Our prosperity and well-being depends on Him.

This involves Giving your life to others, Being an example, Raising issues, and having a proper view of God the Father
The cause of suffering is a common question. We need to be prepared to answer people, and to face the question ourselves at times.
Worship definitions, worhsip by receiving His love, by servingm by obeying Him, by coming together in community
God is bigger than any situation we face. We should pray, especially using His promises - praying bold prayers expectantly.
I will meditate on your precepts and consider your ways - I delight in you decrees, I will not neglect your word.
When is wealth worldly. The power of patience. The high cost of cheap talk. Can prayer heal the sick.
An opportunity to examine our foundations, to proclaim the good news, and to invest in His kindgom
