We all know someone who identifies as gay, lesbian, or bisexual. How can Christians better share Jesus with our loved ones and friends in the LGBT community? What have we gotten wrong? How can we improve? Dr. Christopher Yuan combines his life experiences and his theological and biblical language background to teach a fully gospel-centric approach without any compromise of truth or grace. This will help us to think right (orthodoxy) before doing right (orthopraxy). After this session, Dr. Yuan will be taking questions from the audience.

This week Pastor Dan identifies the backseat drivers in our lives and asks the question: “How do we recognize the difference between God’s voice and all the other voices out there?”
Every week, millions of people all over the world gather to worship. But who or what are they worshipping? How are their faiths different from one another, and does it even matter?
In reality, there are key differences that set religions apart. And if someone asked you what those differences are, would you be able to answer? Like, what’s the difference between Christians and Mormons, Christians and Muslims, or Christians and Buddhists? And do those differences matter? Can everybody be right? What do we do with the words of Jesus when He says that He is the ONLY way and the ONLY truth? How should we as Christians respond and act towards those who believe differently than us?
In a world of many faiths, what does tolerance look like? How can we know the truth? Do all roads lead to God? What are the differences? Can everybody be right? We aim to answer these questions as we begin a new series comparing Christianity with the beliefs of different religions.

Our Nation is facing major challenges. Families, churches and friends are divided over government mandates and leadership. There is no shortage of passionate opinions and protests. When you hear the world “HOLY”, what comes to mind? Think about it for a moment. I’m sure all kinds of responses come up when you hear that word. Yet, it is one of the most important and powerful attributes of God that is so often ignored and misunderstood.
Thanks for joining us online this morning, we hope you had an incredible Christmas with your families and friends!

Thank you Main Street for once again practicing our value of Irrational Generosity. Here is the highlight video that shows where and how the $106,000 you gave this year will make a difference in thousands of peoples lives.
You don't FIND God's will you RECOGNIZE it.
God gives us His general and specific will.
God's will is not BAD, is not FIXED, is not CONTRARY to His Word, is not HIDDEN and is not REVEALED to others first.
God wants you to know what He wants you to BE.
God wants you to know what He wants you to DO.
QUESTION: When it comes to God's will do you want to know it so you can consider it or so you can live and obey it?
Why you need to hear Gods voice? -So Christ can function as your Lord and King! -So you can know God as Father. -So Jesus can be your LIFE!
DON'T FORGET: The voice you listen to the most will determine the direction of your life.
This past weekend we kicked off our new message series - HEARING GOD. Many people struggle with hearing God's voice but as Shawn reminded us - Jesus set the bar pretty low so that anyone can hear Him speak.
SUNDAY REMIX:
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." -1 Corinthians 2:9
-Live in and with the hope of heaven!
SUNDAY REMIX:
Fantastic message today from guest speaker Justyn Rees on how to share your faith.
How do I share my Faith – with a drowning man? (ACTS 27)
• RELEVANTLY, speak to his need. Don’t offer him a drink. • POSITIVELY, speak hope to him. It’s confidence he needs, not sympathy. • PERSONALLY, speak from your own experience. It’s not a sermon he needs, but an example. • INCLUSIVELY, speak to include him, rather than exclude him. We are all in the same boat. • CONFIDENTLY, speak absolute confidence in God, rather offering the vague lifeline of “faith”.
ASk: What do you need today from Jesus?
In 2018 we sent a team of 13 youth and adults to Mexico where they had an incredible time serving the Mexican people of San Quintin. They built a house for a single mother and her 3 children, put on a soccer camp for the kids from the community, lead a VBS and spent time doing various outreaches in the area.
During the trip several people came to Christ as there Lord and Savior, the team was part of seeing people healed and the Holy Spirit moved in the lives of the team.
Mexico Missions is an opportunity to make a long term kingdom impact into the life of a local family, local community, and the local church. I hope and pray you will consider joining us on our adventure this year. If you are interested or have any extra questions please feel free to contact me at the church.
This year we will be building another house for a family in need and will have several options for outreach to the community.

Most of our prayers are way too safe. Bless this food. Help me do well on this test. Please let there be a parking spot. But what if we prayed more boldly—even dangerously—for God to use us in new and exciting ways? This may take us out of our comfort zones, but it could also bring us exactly where God wants us to be

Way before there were flat screen TV’s and High Definition projectors you would find a loyal Sunday School teacher sharing the life changing stories of the Bible on an old piece of cloth called Flannelgraph. Kids would gather around and watch as fuzzy figures were placed on the flannel board telling the stories of Scripture and illustrating a life changing principle or truth. It worked back then and we think it can still work today, so…. join us as we begin a new series - FROM THE FLANNELGRAPH! It all begins February 4, 2018!
Salvation costs you nothing. Following Jesus will cost you something. Unfollowing him can cost you everything!
If not Jesus, than who? If not Christianity, than what?
"Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. We believe, and we know that you are the Holy One if God " (John 6:68-69).
This week's Devotional challenge;
Lord, am I using my life on this earth to prepare for eternity? Is my life rooted in You or focused on me? Show me this week ONE specific change I can make in my short life that will make an impact in eternity.
Some next steps to take from today's message:
READ: Ephesians 6:10-18 and Galatians 5:16-26 every day this week
ASK: Lord, where in my life have I been believing a lie. What truth do you want to show me about who You are and how You see me?

If you read the Old Testament it may come as a surprise to you that God hands out harsh punishments, demands sacrifices and orders the mass slaughter of a nation. The God of the Old Testament can come across as grumpy, unreasonable and even unstable. For many these acts of God cause them to question His character leaving them wondering if He’s even worth believing in. But maybe what you’ve read or heard is not what you think. Maybe those bloody stories tell us more about God than we know. Maybe they tell us something about ourselves that we don’t want to see. Join us for a new message series called “The Bloody Bible” where we will tackle the bloody issues found in the Old Testament and discover what kind of God we really have on our hands – and what His actions really mean. July 9 - Two Testaments: One God July 16 - God the Punisher? July 23 - Whats The Deal With Sacrifices? July 30 - Did God Command and Commit Genocide?

God is often silent but He is never distant. When God is silent He's often preparing us for something miraculous. That's what he was doing with Zechariah, an often overlooked character in the Christmas story. Zechariah had a part to play and a song to sing that broke 400 years of silence. Listen as Pastor Shawn teaches us how God uses silence to teach us to live with a greater sense of Hope.
Silent Night, O Come Let Us Adore Him, The First Noel - you’ve probably heard and sang these carols at some point in your life. But before they were written there were some Songs of Christmas sung by some of the original characters in the Christmas story. At first glance it would seem that none of them had a reason to sing. They faced hardship, struggled with heartache and wrestled with promises that seemed too good to be true. But in the end their struggle, confusion and waiting was not wasted. God did something incredible that led them to respond with songs declaring the promise of Christmas as a melody that is still being heard today.
Join us for the month of December as we discover and learn from the original Songs of Christmas.
December 4 – Why Me?: Mary’s Song
December 11 – Hope is Here: Zechariah’s Song

“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)
We're talking about how to STAY ALERT today as we kick off our new series LIGHT & DARK.
We invite you to partner with us in our 2016 Campaign.
Our goal for H2H 2016 is to raise $30,000 (or more) to provide 100 amazing Christmas Hampers to families in need in our community – with the average cost of a hamper being $300 (providing Christmas dinner & extra food supplies for the holidays, along with gifts for the kids). Around 70 families will be referred directly through our partnership with McCammon & Central Elementary Schools, with the remaining 30 families will being referred through our Main Street Church community.
Here are some of the ways you can partner with H2H 2016. Give to the Goal Give towards the $30,000 goal between October 9-October 31. The entire $30,000 will be used to purchase all of the food and gifts. We are NOT collecting dry/canned food donations this year. If a business/individual wishes to provide a specific item (like milk, buns, oranges, poinsettias…) for all (100) of the hampers we are open to that.
Click the GIVE button to give to the Hunger To Hope Campaign on the Main Street App or Online.
Refer a Family *Referral forms will be available through the churchat the beginning of November (once our donation amount confirms how many hampers we can do). - You must attend Main Street Church to be able to refer a family for a hamper, but the recipient family doesn’t need to attend our church. - Permission to refer must be given by the family first. - Families are not permitted to refer themselves.
Adopt-Pray-Deliver *Adopt-Pray-Deliver: Groups & Individuals are welcome to ‘Adopt’ a family (or more) that they refer to us, or that we assign to them. Adopting this family means that you commit to Praying for this family during the weeks leading up to Christmas, and it means that you will Deliver their Hamper to them on D-Day (Saturday, December 10th).
Serve with the H2H Team Along with Delivery Drivers on D-Day our Admin Team will need a certain number of volunteers to help with gift-shopping and hamper-prep in early December. If you are interested in helping please contact us.
If you are interested in partnering with us in any of these ways please contact us.

When it comes to the Bible there is no shortage of opinions. Many claim that it's full of contradictions, that it's historically inaccurate and that it can't be trusted because we don't have any originals. They say that the Bible is just an invention of a bunch of people who wrote what they wanted and who stamped God's name on it to further their own desires and plans. For many these are just a few of the reasons why you can't trust the Bible.
We think those questions and claims are worth talking about and that's what we will be addressing today at Main Street Church as we continue our series "The Good Book." Join us as we look into whether or not the Bible can be trusted.
Have you ever had someone tell you that the Bible can't be trusted because there are so many Translations or maybe after you explained a verse to them they responded with the statement, "Well, that's your interpretation." Why are there so many translations and how do we interpret the Bible? Those questions and more are answered in this message.
Some recommended resources are Erdman Bible Commentary and Dictionary and a NLT Study Bible.
What’s the best book you ever read? What made it a good book? What caused you to recommend it to others? The reasons will be many. For some it was the plot for others it was the information. Some like a book for the action or the romance or the suspense. There are a lot of reasons that people give to describe a good book. But what about the GOOD BOOK itself? That’s how many people describe the Holy Bible? They say it’s good but often don’t know why or what’s good about it. That’s the question we are going to answer during this series. What makes the Bible good? How are you supposed to read it? How are we to interpret it and does it make any difference when you apply it? Click the link below to download the Bible Reading Plan.
"When things don't go your way does your faith or do your circumstances dictate how you respond."
Being obedient gives you endless opportunities to share Gods love.
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
-Jeremiah 17:7-8 NLT

"What you believe about eternity will determine how you live your life." If that's true (and it is) remember this truth from God's Word - "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." (1 Corinthians 2:9)
• The Bible is unique in its composition, circulation, durability and its effect on people’s lives. • The Bible is accurate as supported by manuscript evidence (what you're reading is what was written). • The Bible is the word of God because of its apostolic authority, congruency and acceptance from the early church. • The Bible is true because of what its says about me! • Most people don't reject God because of the evidence before them but because of the darkness within them. "All Scripture is inspire by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right." 2 Timothy 3:16

KNOWLEDGE: "It's not what you know BUT WHAT YOU DO WITH WHAT YOU KNOW" THE BIBLE: •IS A GUIDE FOR LIFE •A LIGHT FOR OUR PATH •PROTECTS US FROM HARM •REFLECTS WHO WE REALLY ARE •IS FOOD FOR OUR SOUL
•Moral Excellence is when your behavior matches your beliefs. •Moral Excellence draws you closer to God, gives you direction, fills you with peace and positions you for influence. •What is your Integrity worth? •Your actions not your words demonstrate what your integrity is worth. •Getting your integrity back: Get to know Jesus, repent and make things right.
What does it mean to actually have a growing relationship with Jesus? How do you know if you are actually becoming more like Him? Why do people often stagnate in their walk with God? We’ll answer those questions and more in our new Series. Together we will learn what it means to have our roots grow down deep and how we can continually become more like Jesus.
“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught…” –Colossians 2:7

It’s interesting how a bunch of people can look at the same thing but have different opinions. It happens with the Christmas story all the time. Some people see it as a nice clean family friendly story. Others look at it and laugh or ignore it out right because it seems irrelevant to their life. Still others view it as a story filled with hope, joy and peace. The truth is the Christmas story is full of messiness, intrigue and pain. It is a battle between good and evil that points to a day that will fill people with, joy, hope and peace. It’s when you understand it in all of its context is the moment you see what God sees.
Join us this Christmas season as we look at the Christmas story through the eyes of three characters. The Wise men, King Herod and the Shepherds. Their perspectives may give you a clearer focus on the life changing message of Christmas.
Christmas Eve Services 3:30pm, 5:15pm & 7pm
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Seek God the First of the Day (Devotions) (Psalm 63:1 and Mark 1:35) Seek God the First of the Week (Church) (Acts 20:7 and Hebrews 10:25) Seek God the First of the Month (the Tithe) (Leviticus 27:30 and 2 Corinthians 9:7) Seek God the First of the Year (Month of Fasting)
Money isn’t good and money isn’t bad. But like any worldly thing it can turn into something harmful or even dangerous. In fact how we handle our money answers the most important questions about us. The Bible sums up how we can avoid having our finances gain control of our hearts and lives in one word - GENEROSITY.
Pastor Dean Orrell speaks on one of our core values at Main Street Church
"WE ARE ALL ABOUT THE LOCAL CHURCH" The local church is God's "Plan A" to reach the world - He has no "Plan B"
•The payoff for following Jesus is a fearless life. •Why does God make a fearless life the payoff for following Him? •It demonstrates our faith in Him. •It develops the kind of faith that frees us to love like God loves. •Following Jesus is a journey. The more you follow Jesus the more fearless you become.
Who or what do you turn to when you are afraid? Is Jesus our last resort rather than our first resources.

Discover How Doubt Can Strengthen Your Faith
Everyone experiences doubt at some point in their lives. If you haven’t, you will. Whether you doubt your faith, God’s goodness, your circumstances or even if God exists! The truth is you’re going to wrestle with doubt. Doubt is often the “dirty little secret” that Christians don’t want to talk about or admit that they deal with. Yet God gives us room for doubt in our lives because it’s often what He uses to grow and strengthen our faith.
Join us for this two week message series as we discover how God can use your doubts to draw you closer to Him.
Here is the recap video from the MAN EVENT from last weekend. Next year you will want to register quick because its going to fill up quick.
"Worry happens when our thoughts move from a problem to all sorts of fears about the problem" PRAY, TELL, ASK, THINK (REPEAT AS OFTEN AS NECESSARY) "...then the God of peace will be with you"
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. Philippians 2:3-4
Do you ever struggle with your past? Does it always seem to drain you from having joy in your present and believing for it in your future? Well - then you won't want to miss this Sundays message as we continue our series on JOY.
Justin Manzey was our special guest speaker this weekend. You won't want to miss hearing his story and how God has instilled joy into his life in spite of his past.
Get some great incite in how you can unload your spiritual backpack of its burdens.
Everyone's on the pursuit of happiness. Some people look to their friends, some to their families to find it. Some devote themselves to work or chase adventures. Some cling to food, money, new clothes, or new gadgets to try to make them happy. But sometimes it feels like we can't find happiness no matter where we look. Or we find it and then it disappears just as quickly. But what if God had something more in mind?
In this series we are going to study the book of Philippians and learn about choosing joy, no matter our circumstances. Let's learn together what it looks like to be more than just happy.
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6 NLT
Jesus fully realized all that was going to happen to him. So he stepped forward to meet them...(Luke 18:4)
Good Friday is Good because Jesus "Stepped Forward"
JESUS VS THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS Giving Jesus the steering wheel of your life makes him Lord, not a chauffeur. It isn't just giving God the wheel, but ownership and authority of everything. Jesus wants to show you who he is so that you can discover who you are.
WHAT YOU PRAY FOR REFLECTS WHAT YOU BELIEVE ABOUT GOD. If God answered "YES" to all your prayers what would be different in the world? Two things to pray for: BOLDNESS and MIRACLES Bold prayers keep me dependent on Jesus, small prayers keep the door open for me to trust in myself. A bold prayer is praying with confidence that "GOD CAN" not that "GOD WILL"
THE PRINCIPLE: HUMBLE YOURSELF THE PRACTICE: THANKFULNESS
Thankfulness is the forgotten weapon in PRAYER! Be thankful in all circumstances - Not for all circumstances.
Have you ever wondered what the reward for prayer is? Watch this inspiring message in our series on prayer 'All Access'.
