BC Magazine is the "critical lens on today's culture and entertainment." BC Radio Live is hosted Barbara Barnett and Jon Sobel, executive editors of Blogcritics Magazine.
BC Live will bring you the latest from the pages of Blogcritics Magazine from its editors and writers, as well as timely interviews and lively discussion.
Each day, I'll gn the air live on the air to read the Tweets of the day, and discuss the latest indignities, outrages and resistance news about the Trump Administration. From Bannon to Kushner, Flynn to Breitbart News and POTUS pal Putin, we'll cover as much as we can. I'll open the lines to discussion and comiseration.
Who am I? I have a broad and deep background: writer, science, an almost-PhD in Public Policy. I'm an unapologetic progressive and a novelist. I'm also the executive eidtor of Blogcritics Magazine, but my views are my own and do not reflect the views of Blogcritics Magazine. Want to talk? Call in, but no trolls, incendiaries (of any stripe). Civil discourse is the theme of the day.

Stargate Universe producer-writer Joseph Mallozzi will be joining for our part two of our Stargate Universe Retrospective. SGU is the third in the Stargate television franchise, and the one that real got to me. It's intelligent, dark and serious, and since I first came across it a year ago (after it had been off the air a few months), it just grabbed me and hasn't let go. Gateworld, the place for all things Stargate has been hosting a Stargate Universe re-watch the past two months, and I have been slowly posting episode commentaries over on the Let's Talk TV Blog. Joseph Mallozzi, one of the creative minds behind the franchise (and SGU, of course) will join me live for a discussion of this series that went off the air prematurely. SGU, follows the survivors of an attack aboard the Ancient starship Destiny. The series stars Robert Carlyle, Louis Ferreira, and David Blue. This week, the focus is on Seaon 2 and what, if anything, the future may bring. Due to the New Years Holiday, we'll be broadcasting live Wednesday at 9:00 ET.

Join Blogcritics Co-Executive Editor and Founder of Let's Talk TV for this look at how primetime TV taps into its more spiritual side. Whether overt or part of the subtext, Primetime TV drama often tackles the tricky subject of God, sometimes with grace, and sometimes rather clumsily. My guest Gerry Weaver and I will talk about several current and recent television series and how they deal with the subject of God: Supernatural, Stargate Universe, Eli Stone, Battlestar Galactica, even House M.D. and The X-Files. So tune in and join the conversation. We are happy to be sponsored by Wireless 1, who created the Let's Talk TV app, now available for free for iOS or Android devices.
Join us Monday night as Let's Talk TV does a rare in-studio interview. Todd Kessler is a Chicago Singer/Songwriter, and recently he appeared The Voice. Todd will be coming down to the studio with guitar in hand to talk about his experience on The Voice and to play a little from his band's CD. So stop on by, and listen in, call in. Todd will also take calls from fans, so hop on down! Let's Talk TV Live is sponsored paritially sponsored by Wireless 1, creating fabulous apps for non-profits and small businesses at an affordable cost!

If you haven't already, be sure to download our FREE new app from iTunes or Google Play (Android) today, so you can listen in, and keep up with the blog whereever you are! Sunday is the last Once Upon a Time episode until January. I thought it would be a good time to recount the season up to this point. What we like, and what we don't. Then, for the House fans in the audience, I have a very special announcement about the House rewatch, and a special guest appearance just for the rewatch. We talked more about California Solo, and our listeners had some great winter break movie recommendations for fans of our Rumple (Robert Carlyle). And we also talked about the new documentary Showrunners and the ongoing kickstarter for the project. ...And much, much more to come!
Join me Monday night to discuss Sunday's new installment of Once Upon a Time in which Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) and Regina (Lana Parrilla) try to find a way to send a message to Emma, who's back in Fairytale Land. The only option puts David 's (Josh Dallas) life in danger. What was the plan and did it work? Let's Talk. I will also be previewing Thursday's new Elementary episode. I interviewed show creator Rob Doherty last week, and he teases about this and future episodes, including Lisa Edelstein's appearance as guest star Thursday next. I'll play an excerpt from my interview, which will appear in its entirety in print Wed. on Blogcritics. There will be ample time for call in, or chat away in the chat room! I will also have a special announcement regarding the House, M.D. rewatch scheduled to begin in January as well as some Hugh Laurie news. NOTE: The Let's Talk TV app is now available for your mobile device: iPod Touch, iPad, iPhone, and all Android devices. Don't miss an episode or a new article! So tune in -- and let's talk TV
Join entertainment journalist Barbara Barnett as she she interviews Marc Zicree live on the next Let's Talk TV LIVE. Zicree has written for several classic sci-fi televisions series, inlcuding Star Trek: The Next Generation, Babylon 5, and Sliders. He currently is developing a brand new sci-fi film franchise called Space Command starring such gere names as Mira Furaln (Delenn on Babylon 5), Dean Haglund (The X-Files & Lone Gunmen), and Bob Picardo (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis). Zicree is also author of the definitive guide to the original Twilight Zone, so we'll talk about that classic show as well. Second half hour, I'll be welcoming Jessy Schram of Falling Skies, Last Resort, and Once Upon a Time. We'll get all the scoop on the new Falling Skies season, and commiserate about the end of Last Resort, which has not been renewed for the second half of the primetime season. We'll also talk about her character on Once Upon a Time, Cinderella. So join us, chat in the chatroom or call in and say "Hi."
A great November sweeps show for November 12 on Let's Talk TV LIVE with Barbara Barnett, as I welcome fellow TV Blogger Gerry Weaver to the show. I'll also be reporting on my interview with Dean Haglund of The X-Files, and several other interviews I've got coming up for the show, for Blogcritics and for my Let's Talk TV Blog. Second half hour, we'll be talking about our favorite wounded heroes on television. House, Mulder, Rumplestiltskin, Captain Jack Harkness, even Mr. Spock qualify as those aloof heroes and anti-heroes that we love (even when they're doing not nice things). So come on by, hang out in the chat room (we had 60 last week!) and join in on the fun! I've launched an Android app for Let's Talk TV (iPhone/iPad version out later this month). Television writer Jane Espenson is well-known for her work on such iconic television series as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, Torchwood, Game of Thrones and now Once Upon a Time. She will be joining me for an hour of discussion about this week's Once Upon a Time, which she wrote, as well as her other projects, including her great web series Husbands co-created with Brad "Cheeks" Bell. Brad and his co-star Sean Hemeon will also be joining the discussion during the second half hour to talk about Husbands, and about an upcoming important event in Salt Lake City. So please tune in, call in, or just sit back and listen in! In the meantime, check out my new TV-only blog for news, interviews, reviews, features, and more!

Call in and share your thoughts about Sunday night's new Once Upon a Time Episode "Crocodile." What's the state of Rumbelle? We'll talk about Rumple's wife Milah and how he lost her oh, so long ago before he became The Dark One. And we'll also talk about the films of Robert Carlyle (and his other television works). Call in and share your favorites for all of the new Carlyle fans out there! I will also share with you my interview with the lovely Jessy Schram, who plays Cinderella (and also appears on ABC's Last Resort) So, tune in for the third live broadcast of Let's Talk TV. Please note the special night, immediately following the East Coast Broadcast of Once Upon a Time!
For the first half hour or more we're going to talk about House, M.D. It will be a call-in format for all of us who are missing the acerbic doctor, not on the primetime schedule for the first time in 8 years. Comiserate, talk about your favorite moments; I'll talk about mine as well. All ships welcome! And we'll keep it civil. I'll also be announcing the format of my House, M.D. Rewatch, which begins in January. After our trip down memory lane, we'll be talking about Sunday night's Once Upon a Time episode Lady of the Lake, and the where season two is heading. Listen in, call in, opinions, questions and discussion encouraged both live and in the chat room. Note: New night for Let's Talk TV. I'm moving to Monday Nights at 9PM ET.
