Intelligence is mandatory as we make sense of the words that have been used against us. Killing Cliches is a platform where words are defined by the author, and where cliches are examined by the light of the truth. These cliches are found everywhere, but they are perpetuated through politics and religion.
These conversations are meant to enlighten and to bring a spiritual clarity to the discussion. Therefore, you will hear commentary on the state of black people, positive affirmations, meditations, and perhaps even songs of encouragement. "Killing cliches enroute to the truth."
Being awake means something so far beyond politics that the two thoughts do not belong in the same sentence. I am delighted to share and will continue to as I continue to be inspired. Let us continue to grow up together. Grace.

The prayer taught by Jesus allows me to make the distinction between God my celesestial Father and my earthly father. My Father is not a mean and terrible judge; however, I am cared for, taught lessons, and shown mercy and grace through life and as a result of my faith. It is absolutely necessary to see God through the eyes or grace in the same way that we are seen through grace.
If I pay more attention to the thoughts, suggestions, and ideas of others how will I ever meet my destiny? To be governed by one's innermost being is to first distinguish it between the voices of the others. Purpose- must lead the way. Grace.

The truth is, there is enough economic strength within us that would make Black Power real for us all. We must seek to ask ourselves these questions in order to determine our true course: evolving from scattered individuals to a collective force.

Defining terms for ourselves takes work and conversations that lead to ascention. In this episode, Willie Williams (educator, doctoral candidate, author) and I have a conversation killing the cliche of the term black crime. Killing Cliches is excited to be the platform where we are expanding and growing together one conversation after another.
How do I fit in? Notwithstanding the attitudes that I have learned along the way, or the 'think about what I disagree with first mentality'. As we are gathered, we must seek to fit together- this means that I may have to check my attitude and my disposition at the door, but only I can tell myself this. Let us continue to grow together.

The elders have the responsibility for teaching and trusting that their teaching has prepared the student to excel; the student is responsible for making good use of the teaching as they excel. A conversation about Grace is not something that can be limited to a single podcast; however, that is the current topic of discussion. We have all heard the phrase "if I knew then, what I know now...", and we have all grown from the grace that allows us to know what we know now. This podcast is the beginning of a series of conversations that must address religion, in the traditional sense, in order to bring back the pure essense of Religion.
As we learn, we are given the opportunity to grow, to be responsible, and to do things differently. But what about the things in the past? As we allow life to come- life slows down, and we can clearly make the decisions that keep us in line with our destiny.
Living with empathy really does mean that we have to absorb some things about others- whether they are things we like or dislike- especially if there is a goal in mind. Learning the difference between reacting and responding equips me for living with empathy. Finally, 'being absorbant' begs the question- how much do I value my peace?

What is the different between an emotional decision and a decision that is made objectively and based on the truth? Emotions change so frequently, they are absolutely unreliable. Therefore, we must consider our choices: "I have a choice, I have a choice... and so do you".
How we define and speak of ourselves causes an actual reaction. It is necessary to pay attention to the way others have been allowed to define our actions over the years, and presently. Killing those cliches, enable #self-actualization.

To what do I owe me? The opportunity to live free. The knowledge of where I am headed dictates my thoughts, and allows me to evaluate if I am headed in the right direction- not to evaluate someone else's path. Let's learn what it means to internalize and allow ourselves to grow and to evolve.
What I know about something, is more stable than my feelings toward something. It is a very necessary distinction to make: knowledge versus emotions. I might not feel good, but I know that I am able to conquer anything! What do you know about yourself?

Every closed door is an open opportunity to give thanks! Rejection occurs to us all; however, let's take a look at those "no's" through the lens of destiny that says, "there is something meant for you that is greater than this opportunity". Be Encouraged!
It is impossible to right every wrong. How many wrongs are there, any? Our approach must be different. Love must be a part of the approach. As we gather and unify, and galvanize all of our energy, we become an unstoppable force- purposed for our destiny. #BlackBartering

We fight for so many wins and external goals. We are always training or re-tooling, or further educating ourselves for tangible things that add minimal value to our lives- yet we fight for them. I challenge us to fight for sanctuary, and inner peace.
What is the recipe for the destruction of an entire people? Destroying the relationship between a father and his family. It is time that we have an honest conversation with our fathers. So many emotions flooded my consciousness as I consider the murder of George Floyd and so many other black man and women at the hands of the government's agency: the police department. For weeks, I pondered the best approach for me to have peace in the midst of the madness. I've learned that prayer allows me to remain object and free of emotions that can cloud my judgement. This prayer became one of my responses: "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done..."

George Floyd. When I heard the eulogy of given at the funeral of Mr. Floyd, I was puzzled... The eulogy was disappointing, and perpetuates certain pacifying phrases that keep black folks emotional and moved by rhymes and catch phrases. This podcast attempts to look at the scene of the murder of Mr. Floyd from two lens, from a sobering perspective that begs for us to look at our current state of mind that would gawk with our phones out and not be moved to take any kind of physical defense of the dying man.

My words have power, as do the words that I allow to come into my existence. Killing Cliches gives me the power over the words that I use, and absorb within my own thinking patterns. Killing cliches gives me the power to challenge every word, conversation, and detail spoken by anyone (preachers, politicians, philosophers, entertainers, my parents, my teachers, including my grandparents...) through any media, for any motive.
