The coronavirus pandemic may have temporarily closed our comfort centers, but it hasn't stopped our mission! Watch our latest episode to see how we went mobile to bring the USO mission to service members all over the Hampton Roads area with the help of our partner, Smithfield. Things haven't slowed down in 2020 for USO HRCV Outdoor Adventure Team (OAT). In addition to paddle boarding, Mommy and Me Workouts, swimming, and cycling, OAT has added adventure racing as one of their offerings to veterans, service members, and their families. Since March 2020, all 11 USO Hampton Roads and Central Virginia comfort centers were temporarily closed to ensure the safety of our staff, service members, and volunteers as we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic. As of late July, our USO Norfolk International Airport Center or "ORF" center received the green light to serve military members passing through for travel.
