Davy Jee (Art Movement): Recent Episodes

Born in June 1981 in Braine le Comte, Davy Jee (David is his real name) was fascinated by electronic music from a very young age.

As a child, music was already part of his daily life, and he had an old suitcase in his room that turned into a record player and spent hours on it. His first trip to a nightclub at the age of 16 in 1997 was a revelation (it was at the Palladium). As soon as he entered, he was attracted to the discobar. The interaction the DJ had with the audience fascinated him. At that time it was Dj Cp and Dj Sergio. That's where it all started.

It was in 1998 that he decided to buy his own turntables. He started to discover new discotheques such as La Bush (Tournai) with Dj George's (who influenced him a lot in his musical style) but also the Zillion (Antwerp) with a more trance style .....

At the end of 1998 he took up a residency every Saturday from 9pm to midnight in a local radio station based on the Braine Alleud with the man who taught him the basics of mixing, Dj Kriss, for the show "Illusion". He stopped 2 years later.

From 2001 to the end of 2004 he did some parties: Wedding, Communion and others... He also took up a residency in another local radio but did not stay long!

From 2005 to 2007 resident at Club 360 (Nivelles) which became "Le 360".

From 2007 to 2009 SEVERAL residencies at "Sesame Palace" but also "Equinox". He will also be included in Luca Perreri's concept "Magical" and will mix several times for him at the World ( Gosselies ) at the Lauren's Club ( Pulse Factory second room ) And also at La Rocca Bakstage... He also founded a Concept with 2 other friends of the time "Discovery Concept" which gave him the opportunity to play twice in the big room of Pulse Factory next to Dj Cp. He also got to know dj Oxoon (DJ, producer, composer), who has his own bar (source Oxoon) (Couvin) he will mix several times.

From 2010 to 2018 he runs his own radio show on Ultrason (local radio in Nivello) He also does some dj sets in different radio Tuning, meeting or club ...

From 2012 to now resident of Club 386, a small club located in the region of Erquelinnes not far from the French border where he is both resident dj but also artistic director of the place.

Until the end of 2010, his musical style was mainly progressive and trance influenced by djs such as : Dj George's, Dj Cp, Phiphi , Pole Folder , Armin van Buuren , Dave swaize ...

From 2011 he completely changes his style simply because he feels better when he plays and opts for a much more house, Progressive, Melodic, Deep house sound ... influenced by djs like: Solomun, Artbat, Fidèles, Rufus du sol, Ame, Rodriguez Jr, Tale of Us, Kolsch.... He also works with his long time friend Frodo for all the production and Djing. They both choose to form the duo Art Movement and release several tracks on different labels.

2017 He created his own radio show Underground inside today broadcasted every Friday on Charleking Radio and every Sunday on Xbeat Radio.
