Congrats to the winners of WordAnvil's Kyanite story challenge! d20sapphire is excited to finally publish the first anthology from this great community. Unfortunately, she didn't make the cut to get published. She thinks about how she's surprised how well she's taking that, and reassures her that she is good to go to continue "failing" in the pursuit of being published.

The great thing about running a campaign on a regular basis is that it forces a creative to start using their mind for creation again. d20sapphire watched all of Season One of the The Witcher on Netflix and was somewhat impressed. What struck her the most was how stories weren't told entirely in a linear fashion, but instead brought together with thematic element across the lives of the three main characters. Double the awesome in this episode! Everyone has war stories about previous games, or as d20sapphire has decided to call them, Prologues. The Fuyaoan Discontents found themselves in the midst of some cult activity with a mystery. d20sapphire talks about how she built up the mystery plot for her players to interact with, and how she adjusts the revelations of clues during gameplay. As a writer, sometimes you realize what you first wrote needs an edit because it's distracting from the point. d20sapphire is at GenCon! Here's a super quick episode about some of the things you can do to be polite at a convention. You've probably heard some of this before, but some of it can't be said enough.

Writing a TV show is not easy. It's a team based creative endeavor with a leader at the helm. And yet, we continue to critique a writing staff's output as if we could of solved it had we been in those writing rooms. d20sapphire pulls one of those today. She loves Star Trek: Discovery overall, but had some issues with Season Two that seemed extra obvious when compared to Season One. That's right, we got another nerd complaining on the internet.

d20sapphire's current table top game recently had a full on arbitration plot. This involved some somewhat intense interviews for the characters. She thinks she figured out a way to run the questioning without having it be slow for everyone at the table.

How does one make sure the player characters are engaged in your story? d20sapphire suggests you take a look at consequences.
