Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Regressives have demonized the word “nationalism,” as if there is something suspect about patriotism and love of country. But we should never forget that the Founders were Christian nationalists. They sought to build a nation on the truth claims of Christianity. Four times in the Declaration of Independence they refer to the God of the Bible. They believed that all of our fundamental civil rights come not from government but from God. In the First Amendment, they prohibited the federal government, including judges, from interfering with the free exercise of the Christian faith in any way. We are locked today in a fierce cultural civil war over the kind of nation we will be. In 2020, there is no room for the summer soldier or the sunshine patriot. Let’s put on the full armor of God and fulfill the vision of the Founding Fathers for our nation.
