Recently, CashColorCannabis Podcast had the chance to sit down with Christian Wise Smith.

Smith is running for Georgia Attorney General and from the looks of it, the race is going to be neck-to-neck until the end.

We had the chance to  speak with him about how a case of mistaken identity led to a life in politics, his opinion on legalization, the confusion over decriminalization in Fulton county, his run for GA Attorney General, and what his first 100 days in office will look like and why he's the man for the job. We even got him to explain what makes Cincinnati's chili unique

A really in-depth, super dope interview. Smith has a lot to say. Listen to our interview now.

Honestly, I haven't laughed that much in a while! The homie Chief, host of "Chief In The Hotbox" came by to talk about her life in media, whether we will see her in the HotBox again and so much more. The story about her parents had me in tears.

Sales is an art. It's not simple as you have something and someone needs to just buy it. It's a science to all this. Sales are about transferring the energy you have for something to the person you need to buy it.  The best politicians are great salesmen.  I've been in rooms with people who I've felt couldn't sell you anything. That their success comes from having a product people are demanding for and not their actual sales skills. It's a fine art. Mr. Fredds can teach a class on how to sell. People, in general, have a way of just going along to get along. Forging ahead for decades of our lives, often doing things that we might not be in love doing. It’s really a terrible way to live. You gotta applaud people who decide to chose their own destiny. I think about that often as I move on in my life. I’m happy to say that at this point in my life, I’m doing what I feel like doing. It took almost 3 decades, I got here. So when I heard that Sonia Erika made the decision to move on from her work in cannabis to pursue something else, I was happy. I met Sonia around the time when I was starting my journey in cannabis. She was part of a collective of young voices of color called CannaCultural. She would go on to become an influential voice in Massachusetts with her work Massachusetts Recreational Consumer Council But like, we had a moment when she realized it might be time to

I got to take a quick moment and say thank you to the good people over at Zoom. Pre-pandemic, the idea of Zoom was foreign to me. I mean, I was aware of the platform. I just never had the need to do it. Then boom, pandemic! We had to come up with new ways to conduct interviews with everything shut-down, including our recording studio. So we started using platforms like Zoom and Streamyard to record and share our interviews. As time passed, we did eventually get back to the studio. But from time to time, we still use zoom to do our interviews. It's something about the comfort that zoom presents. People are able to set up unique backgrounds in their homes and really show personalities. It's a really cool way to record.  It also allows for interviews like these. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with Canadian Securities Exchange Director of Issuer Engagement Barrington Mil

I don't know about you, but I'm a product of the 90s. Not a 90's baby. I was alive, talking and living in the 90s. I spent my teenage years in the 90s. It was the golden era for hip-hop. The culture found its way into every part of pop culture at that time. When I think about it, everything from music to television seemed a lot better because of how influential hip-hop was becoming at that time.  This one tv show, NYPD Undercover was must-see tv for a kid like me at the time.  It was a show that was totally built for a 90s generation that was becoming more tied to the rap world than ever before. It wasn't just cops and robbers. It was a show full of Black and Brown faces who dressed like me, talked like me and dealt with the same inner-city issues I dealt with at the time. One of the stars of the show was Malik Yoba. Yoba became one of the standout young Black actor

Isn't it funny how things become what we call, "cool." It really doesn't take too much make something in the next hot thing. Take quinoa for example. After existing in anonymity for a while, quinoa went from wallflower to promo queen in what seems like over-night. Americans consumed with health, have made the ancient grain so popular that prices for it sky-rocketed. From quinoa bowls to salads, you couldn't escape for it a moment. Quinoa isn't the only super-food that could turn into a fan favorite. Hemp also takes a seat at the super-food table.  Let Erik Range tell it, hemp seeds will become the next quinoa. Co-founder of M4MM United and founder of Hemp & Fork wants the world to catch onto the benefits and versatility that exist in hemp seeds. Range spoke with us for our CashColorCannabis Presents series about how M4MM came to be, Hemp & Fork, how

When it comes to marketing, Black influencers are often used talent and just that. Across all social media platforms, Black ideas get popular and then become property of the rest of the world to consume. This would all make sense if the people who came up with those ideas got paid like the people who found them later and turned them into something easier to commercially digest. The world of a Black influencer is much like a Andre 3000 line, "I got more fans than the average man, but not enough loot to last me, to the end of the week." Far too Black influencers had to settle for peanuts while people who discovered the influence later were paid handsomely. It took a slew of Black influencers to bring the issue to the forefront and demand that brands pay Black influencers what they are due. I had this conversation with Iyana Eduoard. Host of the "Wine, Weed and Weave" pod

I could really name this episode, "That One Moment That Created More Moments." Royal Smith is not just a good friend of mine, he is also a man with vision. When I first met him, it was at a indie music showcase in Atlanta. It was a shared love of cannabis that sparked our friendship. It was a conversation in my house a few months after our first encounter that created a nexus event. Being an independent artist can be a lifetime of highs and lows. There will be super-high peaks like working with acts you look up and being in rooms you only dreamed you would be in. Then there are lows like feeling like just another artist in a sea of artists. Jay Dot Rain has seen both. The Alabama act has seen the peaks and valleys that come with being an artist on the rise. Unlike other acts, he made sure that his time in the valley only served as a lesson to get back to the peak. Armed with a new sense of awareness and a hit single, Jay Dot is ready to achieve the dreams he's had since he played tuba in high school. Recently, we spoke with Jay Dot Rain about the ups and downs of being an indie artist, his new single "Step", the pressures of being a small artist with a big record and where he sees his career in 10-years. The state of Georgia was thrown fully in the spotlight after the 2020 election. After a runoff, wins for Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff made Georgia into a battle ground state. It also signals that the country could be heading into legalization. But before any of that could settle in, a failed coup attempt sucked the air out the room. But business will still go on in D.C. and eventually topics like legalization will come back to the forefront. To start our fifth season, we kick-off the year with someone who could talk bud and politics with us.Activist Chris Brown sat down to discuss Georgia going blue, his opinion on Warnock and Ossoff going to the senate, and what that can mean for legalization nationally and locally. The House of Representatives passed a bill to decriminalize cannabis! That’s all I saw up and down my timeline for a few days after the house passed the MORE Act. Also known as Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment Expungement ACT, the bill would remove cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act, decriminalizing cannabis on a federal level. This would be the first first time congress has ever voted on such a thing. While many cheered it on as a move in the right direction, others panned as more symbolic than anything else. Today, we have Dasheeda Dawson on with us to discuss the MORE Act. Who can fight cancer and still manage to run for Governor of Georgia? Ted Metz. The unlikely candidate for Governor found out he was nominated while sitting in a hospital bed. Since then, he's done all he can do to get out his message of ending government corruption, freeing cannabis, and giving more power back to the people.

Ted came by the show recently to speak about his fight with cancer, how he left the Republican party to become a Libertarian, what separates him from Stacey Abrams and Brian Kemp and what he will do if he doesn't win. Just plan on seeing and hearing more from Ted over the next few years.
