This is a different type of episode as this is a talk that Justin Nguyen (your host) and Armel Talla did at SXSW EDU earlier this year. It's all about the student perspective and how higher educational institutions can work on engaging their students using social media.

In 2017-2018 I didn't know it, but I had my first anxiety attacks. My heart would heart at random times in the day and I had a cardiologist look at my heart and nothing was wrong physically.
College was beating on me and I was about to graduate so I had to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. But that is when I had to learn different ways to calm myself down when I got anxious.

Sean graduated from UCLA with a degree in biology and turned down a job offer before moving to New York.

Reading isn't something that we are brought up to love. In high school we're forced to read books that we hate and it sort of ruins reading I think. But when you actually find a book that you like, it can be tough to put down, or in my case stop listening to as I listen to audiobooks.

Eric has started a course that helps students publish a book, it started off with a small class of 24 and now each cohort is getting bigger and bigger! His next one is over 100 students!
Eric Koester is a former entrepreneur turned professor at Georgetown University. He is called "The Book Professor" because one of his classes is geared around helping students write and publish a book.
I wanted to bring on Eric to talk about what it's like from the professor's perspective of when students come and ask him "for coffee" or "to pick his brain". His responses may be different than what you expect.

The next place on campus to find your champion is student clubs.
In this episode, I lay out 3 ways to infiltrate the "Inner Circle" of student clubs and why they are super important. Benjamin Fields is a Double Major and Quadruple Minor at Cornell University... I know, he couldn't just go to an Ivy League school, he had to go above and beyond. But besides being an extreme scholar, Benjamin dealt with a lot of racism throughout high school and struggled with his grades during his first couple of years at Cornell. During this time, he started to come up with his own cheat codes about college which he reveals one in part 1 and the rest in part 2.
