Welcome to Motivational Monday - Keeping It Real With Dr. Blue!
Did you know that your attitude determines your altitude?
· When we have a poor attitude, we tend to limit our thinking and our circle of people. Most people label us as being mean.
· Some portray a poor attitude as a method of protection to warn bad people to stay away from us to protect our own hearts.
· We must be careful with portraying a bad attitude because it can block us from opportunities.
· Studies show that people that smile more tend to receive better opportunities.
· When you carry around a bad attitude, people tend to stay away because they are not sure how to take you.
· Your attitude is everything.

What are we talking about today? We are talking about all the hats you wear and how to adjust your crown as a Queen.
We know that men take on the role of husband, father, worker, bill payer, and more.
That’s all well and good, but the woman wears way more hats than this. I started thinking about myself as a woman. From the time that I get up in the morning to the time that I lay my tired head to rest is in preparation for something else or finalizing for the day.

Here are some tips:
Help them believe in themselves. This creates self-reliance. Reassure them of their greatness.
Find time to work on a project together. Trust me; your children will never forget it. To this day, my children still remember their weekly book reports during the summer that had nothing to do with school.
Ask your child what they are passionate about. Trust me; it will change a million and one times over the years. They will remember your time investment.
Share your story. Every child needs to know their parent's story and their journey. You can leave out all of the gory stuff and sexual encounters, but they need to know that you are human and that you hurt.
Don’t hide all of the life challenges with them. Share with them that gas is $5 a gallon and how many gallons you get and how far you can go on a gallon of gas. This will help them understand when they want those trips to the mall.
Finally, put some money in your child’s pocket. Get them a green dot card and help them earn money. Walking around broke is not what’s up.

I am Dr. Andrea Blue, the Founder and CEO of B & J Enterprises, LLC; which is our headquarters. Blue Pathways Educational Mentorship Services and Paramount Recruitment Agency is housed here.
This podcast is for you if you are struggling, feeling alone, unsure of your choices and second guessing yourself all the while working hard to reach your next level in life.
Give yourself some grace.
We offer services as a transformational mindset mentor and coach for corporations, business owners, and individuals that need training and development and personal/professional development. We offer support by helping corporations, business owners, and individuals find and use their passion and purpose with a plan of action.
· Having a plan for the future is vital to your personal growth.
· It is important to express your pain and find a balance to help you move towards the next steps.
· Focus on today because yesterday is gone. It may still hurt, but you can focus on the present.
· You can’t drive a car with your head looking back. You must drive looking ahead of you.
· Please get the support that you need. The first step is to ask for help.
· You can walk around hurting and we expect others to see our pain, but people are unable to see it.
· Ask for what you need.
· If you are sad, cold, hungry, need a friend, tell someone.
· Be mindful of those intruding thoughts that tell you that you are not good enough.
· You are more than enough.
· Look for the good in others and not the bad so that you find a reason to isolate.
· It is your responsibility and mine to give back to those that are going through or have through the same story. For example,
· Forgive yourself and others. Not for them, but for your own growth. Where there is no forgiveness, there is no growth. Let go of it. I am not saying you should forget, but you must let go so that you can grow.
· Tell your story. I lived in an abusive marriage for 14 years, but with much prayer and trust in my own abilities, I was able to move forward and grade from college with 2 masters and doctoral degrees. I use everything that I have to help transform the lives of others so that they never have to go through what I went through. It is such a desolate place to be in even when you are in a room full of people.

Today’s Topic – Mindset – Ask For What You Need As You Return To Work
Let’s start with the reason that it is time to go back to work.
Returning to the work setting has nothing to do with the employer.
According to a study conducted by McKinsey & Company, employees are asking for well communicated information about the COVID, feeling anxious about the future of the organization, burnt out and feeling underrepresented, needing a more flexible schedule after the COVID is over, and needed to work from home at least 3 days a week.
Visit this link for more about the study: https://www.mckinsey.com/business-functions/organization/our-insights/what-employees-are-saying-about-the-future-of-remote-work.
Employees, here are a few tips to return to work:
· Ask for a flexible schedule; possibly working 3 days from home.
· Get up and get dressed everyday. Do not lounge around in your night clothes. You are still at work or seeking employment.
· Let your employer know that they can trust you. Do what you say you will do when you say you will do it. Stick to deadlines.
· Find a place in the home that allows for you to complete your work away from the tv and distractions.
· Practice social distancing…
· Take some time to breathe and focus on your mental health. Seek a counselor if you need one. Tell the truth about about your story when you meet with them.
· Make a personal choice to go back full time for you and your family. Remember to do something that you love to do and it will never feel like work.
· Practice a positive mindset to make it easier to be aware of your strengths.
· Spend time feeding the mind great thoughts about yourself with positive affirmations.
· Reflect on where you want to be.
· Write them down in your journal every day.
· Appreciate and be grateful for all of your blessings.
· Express your gratefulness to those that support you.
· Say it out of your mouth. People need to hear it. We can’t read your minds.
You are not alone.

Today’s Topic – Mindset – How Procrastination Can Sabotage Your Business
Let’s start with the definition of Procrastination.
According to Webster:
to put off intentionally and habitually
to put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done.
As business owners, we have all experienced it, but the fundamental reasons can be tough to pinpoint as to why we procrastinate.
Did you know that procrastination delays the very activities that bring you closer to your goals and signing contracts; whether that’s building a thriving business or working in a startup, procrastination can harm your business?

Action plans help people know what needs to be done to complete a task, project, initiative or strategy. An action plan generally includes steps, milestones, and measures of progress, as well as responsibilities, specific assignments, and a time line. Action plans are an important part of strategic planning.
First, let’s define how having a plan of action matters.
The Advantages of Planning Your Life

So many times, we make excuses for being who we are to others. We have been conditioned to fit into a box to fit in. Well, I am here to inform you that it is ok to be weird. It ok to be different. The focus is to be you authentically with no excuses. Now, if you are hurting someone and you are not big enough to recognize it, now that is another story. We are here to build each other up and not tear each other down.
With that being said, I understand that being you can be risky. We all want to be accepted. Throughout the day people troll our social media profiles never leaving a comment, but the question is are we being true to who we are at the core of us. Or are we trying to serve the social media community and be fake to gain followers?
Question: If you were to take a look in the mirror, would you like what you see? Do you have some work to do? Well, dear heart, we all have work to do. I want to share some tips with you to help you become and stay authentic.
Being authentic means that you show up being true to yourself and how you feel. So many times, we show up to make others feel comfortable and we swallow our own feelings for the sake of others. We must be genuine not cubic zirconia. This requires self-awareness, mindfulness and self-acceptance. Know when you are doing ok and know when there is more work that needs to be done.
Authenticity Matters because we spend so much time trying to please others and live according to their ideal of us and after do so, they are still not happy with us.

As African American women, most of us were not taught how to live in the space of generational wealth. We were often taught how to live paycheck to paycheck. However, when you start to make the money that you deserve, how does that look for us?
These are the types of conversations that we need have with each other.
I think back to Black Wall Street and how our forefathers thrived. I am not talking about how the enemies came and tried to break their spirits. I am talking about the way they were making a difference in their own communities and creating generational wealth. They were doing the dang on thing. They were walking, talking, and living wealthy.

This podcast is for you if you are growing your reaching for more in your life and could use some words of encouragement.
Give yourself some grace.
Being mindful of your greatness is vital to grow your business.
At B & J Enterprises, LLC, we will use transformational speaking engagements, 1 on 1 coaching, training and development, workshops, monthly podcasts, and courses that are connected to career, education, employment, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and professional/personal development. These services will help develop plans of action through mentorship. These plans are designed to increase retention rates and decrease dropout rates in underprivileged and underrepresented populations.
What
Today’s Topic – Resilience – When the plan does not fall into place.
When the plan does not work, we measure ourselves up to completing the task. We begin to think we are a failure. Planning has a great deal to do with timing. Allow your mind to refocus on the present moment. It is important to have the next steps.
Listen to my story about Resilience – When the plan does not fall into place.
Here are a few tips:
1. Plan, but know that plans change.
2. Overthinking can keep you stuck.
3. Doing something is more important than finding the “perfect” opportunity.
4. And finally, in life we go through phases, some that seem good and some that seem bad. But neither lasts forever.
Ok look, we know that resilience when the plan changes is about being aware of your surroundings and how you feel. But, did you know that being mindful is also realizing your super powers and your strengths?

There is more than one way to practice mindfulness, but the goal of any mindfulness technique is to achieve a state of alert, focused relaxation by deliberately paying attention to thoughts and sensations without judgment. This allows the mind to refocus on the present moment.
When we are not mindful, we speak without thinking. We allow our emotions to get out of control. We are worried about the future or regretting the past. We feel the victim of circumstances, events, and others. Without mindfulness, we are a two-year-old child. We cry when our needs are not met. We don’t understand cause and effect. We expect others to take care of us. We can’t see past obstacles. We are powerless and overly emotional.
We are so grateful for our connections at B & J Enterprises. We are grateful for those that decide to work with us and those that decide to move on. They are saving us time and money.
Did you realize that it is so important to be mindful during the COVID? You are being inundated with so many tasks, images, and situations that we are forced to deal with daily.

National Workforce Development Month is in September 2021 and is dedicated to increasing awareness about the growing gap in skills and the promotion of workforce development in the 21st century and beyond. Paramount believes that training helps employees learn specific knowledge or skills to improve the performance in their current roles. Leadership development is more expansive and focuses on employee growth and future performance, rather than an immediate job role.
The focus is on the importance of workforce development leadership training as a life skill because workforce development leadership training has the potential to be effective as a psychosocial strategy to promote positive social and mental health in adolescents and adults. This training is vital to the role that employment candidates will need in developing, strengthening, learning, adjusting, and coping skills that are necessary to build confidence and emotional intelligence. The best part about this opportunity is that we teach entrepreneurship skills; which are embedded in the workforce development leadership training skills.

We all know that COVID 19 has altered all of our lives in some fashion. Now that we have worked from home for some time, many of us are second-guessing going back to the workplace. Let's think about it...
How many days can you commit to working in the workplace now?

Did you know that resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; the ability to be tough in difficult situations?
The definition of resilient is someone or something that bounces back into shape or recovers quickly. An example of resilience is elastic being stretched and returning to its normal size after being let go. An example of resilience is a sick person rapidly getting healthy. Able to recover readily, as from misfortune.
Resilience is important for several reasons; it enables us to develop mechanisms for protection against experiences that could be overwhelming, it helps us to maintain balance in our lives during difficult or stressful periods, and can also protect us from the development of some mental health difficulties and issues.

Did you realize that it is so important to network even during the COVID?
Let me share some tips about the importance of networking with others:
Ok look, networking is an opportunity to collaborate with others to improve your professional expertise.
This is a benefit to assist others by sharing your service or product.
If you are not helping anyone solve a problem, you need to rethink your game plan.
Networking can provide an opportunity to share ideas with others as well as skills.
Most importantly, networking is a valuable resource for others. They need you just as much as you need them.
Plus it is so satisfying to share your product with others. It gives you great practice talking about this great idea that you created.
You work hard in your business and this is a great opportunity to share your story with others. It is worth it and stop thinking that someone is trying to sell you something. They are…but guess what, so are you.
