Journalism is strictly objective; not a story telling medium, only reporting news as accurately as possible. Gonzo, assuming all fictional stories have been told, seeks to make news stories (and new stories) out of non-objective experiences. Mockiavellianism blurs the line between fiction and reality...always in the most truthful, and genuine way possible
The truth is not always just as it seems. The news: the politics, the occurrences, the nuances which seem to control our everyday lives - in opaque or non-discreet ways - are always of the utmost seriousness. Or are they? Whether it is the delivery, the deliver-er, or the actual information that breeds this sense of loyalty, the result more often than not is taking more to be true than ought to be.
Most importantly, though, remember, "The World is a meta-joke: waking up every morning is a miracle enough, the rest is but a show we cannot predict and helps us understand"
