Many times, when you are fearful of failure or see the impossible you feel completely trapped, hedged in, and overwhelmed, with no solution in sight. Maybe even confronted with a challenge where there is no resolution. Or your heart is heavy with doubt as you can’t figure out what to do next.

As Christians, many times we feel like we are letting God down when feeling like a failure or only see the impossible. Two things we must remember, failure will not cause you to miss God. It is often the first step to finding God. The second is impossibilities are the platforms upon which God does His best work.

Matt 14:22-33 exemplifies this in so many ways. The famous story when God walked water and Peter walked it as well. We are going to discuss 5 facts about the impossible and failure. Those facts are

  1. Failure will not cause you to miss God.

  2. Don’t be afraid to ask.

  3. Do not look at the storm.

  4. Fear will sink you

  5. Let go of any safety nets. Step out!

As followers and Christians we are constantly faced with the challenge of doing the right thing and making Godly decisions in the world. We are going to discuss when trying to do right, how do you deal with the attack of the devil? These attacks can be external or be attacks that come from our impure thoughts and desires. Satan will attack our spiritual lives by opening doors to try and accomplish spiritually right things in a humanly sinful way.

The panel will talk about how to go about battling and defending yourself against the attack of Satan.

Your body is a machine. And, like all machines, it needs the right fuel to run well — especially if you are active. When you are not eating the way, you should then your body will not run right. Especially if you are trying to lose weight, become healthier, etc.

God knows that health has an influence on our spiritual progress. Our heavenly Father wants us to be happy and radiant with health.

Just like God wants us to be healthy with our bodies so we can glorify him, he wants, and we must eat the word as well so our spiritual life can be strong and healthy as well.

I am going to discuss 5 things people do when it comes to nutrition and God that is not very beneficial and can stall your progression. 1. Not eating all day 2. Snacking throughout the day 3. Do not plan 4. Too strict on yourself 5. Do not eat enough

Many people have that never-ending battle with wanting to eat healthy and going to the gym. Many times, it is a battle we end up losing. The temptation surrounds us from fast food restaurants to Instagram foodies to Facebook how to deserts.

Not to mention having to go to work, classes, dealing with family, and/or absolutely no motivation when you aren't seeing immediate results. It can be a discouraging process, but you must have the will power to keep up with it.

I am going to discuss 10 ways to sustain those goals of losing weight and becoming healthy. I will also discuss how to look at it from God's perspective and apply those principles/perspectives to your daily journey.

***I used the NLT version for scriptures

  1. Understand and know your why. Proverbs 20:5
  2. Motivation gets you stared discipline keeps you going. Joshua 1:8
  3. Count the cost ensure you’re ready. Luke 14:25
  4. Plan and make small changes. Proverbs 16:9

We discussed the cost of following Christ using Luke 14: 25-33. In these verses, Jesus is calling people to follow him in discipleship.

We discuss why is it so hard to follow Christ and easier to follow the world, why do we feel the cost is so high, and much more.

Jesus requires, upfront, a commitment to the highest possible cost. He requires commitment to the highest possible cost. And nothing later is going to surprise you then because you’ve already totally sold to the highest, most excessive cost.

In other words, you don’t need to know the specifics of the cost in your own particular case if the agreement you sign is “I’m yours at any cost.”

How we use and operate anything muse be grounded in the word. In other words STEWARSHIP means all our resources including our bodies our loaned to us. Everything belongs to God. How does this relate to fitness?

Many Christians get their understanding from the world rather than the bible when it comes to health, fitness, and beauty. That is not to say learning to do what to do in the gym, trying to learn how to get fit, trying to change your body etc. is a bad thing. It is a good thing. It only becomes bad when Christ is not at the center of your WHY!! You become aligned with the culture and the world thought process. How should you look, being big, body shaming, obsessives social media concerning your posts and likes with fitness, etc.

The Goal of fitness should not just to look good in the mirror or on IG. True fitness means using our bodily ability that allows us to serve God and others. Don't become so obsessed with the physical that you begin to idolize it. The 4 principles we are going to discuss concerning stewardship and fitness are: 1. Ownership 2. Responsibility 3. Accountability 4. Reward

James 1:2 “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.” (NLT) Have we really looked at this as an opportunity for great joy? There is no doubt that these have been some hard and trying times during the coronavirus pandemic. The unknown, the doubt, the skepticism and more.

The last Thursday of the month we have a panel to discuss different topics. Some of the things we will discuss concerning the coronavirus and faith are how we should handle it as Christians due to our faith, the benefits of trials, how to remember the nature of God during this time and much more.

Katie Jones made a decision one day that if the Church wasn’t going to teach about how to spend our money in a God-honoring way, she would need to figure it out all on her own. That’s when she developed a system to help them align their spending with our faith! Once her and her husband started using this process, they began to see so much fruit coming from it. It seemed as though they “magically” had more money to spend on the things that really mattered to them. And they were able to accomplish so many of our goals.

Katie realized that these biblical financial principles needed to be taught more because if she and her husband were never taught how to spend their money in a way that was honoring to God, then there must be others out there desiring the same thing, and not knowing where to start.

There are probably a few hundred reasons that might motivate you to care for yourself and to be healthy. We are going to discuss four reasons that should and could motivate you at a really deeper level. I think that these are reasons why God would want us all to be motivated by.

  1. It glorifies God

  2. Your body is a Temple

  3. It allows you to be a good witness

  4. More energy - better equipped for what God has planned for you.

CBD is a chemical that comes from cannabis plants and is found in marijuana. Those who use it have seen various benefits such as a reduction in epileptic seizures, reduction in anxiety, increase in pain relief, and help in quitting addictive behaviors such as smoking.

Knowing what it is we want to discuss as a follower/Christian should we indulge or take CBD.  If we do have medical clearance to take it for medical reasons, what things should we look at as we examine our hearts and reasons. We are going discuss 3  biblical principles when making a decision about CBD and using it.

1. Consider the biblical principle of stewardship to our health. (1 Corinthians 6:19)

2. Our call to be Godly examples. (1 Titus 2:7)

3.  What about our liberty in Christ. (16:12)

To be single in as a Christian in society is to be different. For most of us, being single isn't what we planned. So we're left with hounding questions: What exactly is God doing with our lives? Why doesn't He give us what we want? Does He really love us? Why has He blessed most of our friends with the very thing we want? Why has He left us out?

The emotional struggles they face. They're lonely. Sometimes they're jealous. They feel abandoned. They aren't content, and it seems impossible that they ever could be. They have good days. During this podcast we will discuss and answer some of these aspects.

What is the real truth? Is it a sin to say cuss words? They’re just words, so what’s the big deal? What if you’re just joking around? And if cussing is wrong, why do so many Christians cuss casually without conviction?

Short answer yes, it is. Ephesians 4:29 states, "Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them." (NLT)

We are going to discuss this topic more in depth. We want to make sure we are bringing God glory with the words.

Stretching can be beneficial to your body. For example, it can help keep the muscles flexible.  We need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Range of motion allows your full movement without any restrictions throughout your limbs and body.

Stretching our faith in a so many ways will keep us flexible as well. When we stretch our faith our spiritual muscles and bodies, they become stronger and flexible. Therefore, it will challenge us to “stretch our minds,” which will allow us to grow in our knowledge, reasoning, and understanding.

When you value something, you protect it. God values women. And God wants women to be protected.

During this discussion we go into what is a woman's true worth and value? Although a simple question it opens so many doors that are worth talking about.  In the world today a woman's worth is looked upon differently from the biblical aspect.

A woman's worth isn’t determined by our society or culture. It’s not found in our gender or our family background. Women are not valuable because of the work we do or because of our potential. A woman's worth is found in our relationship with God and our standing in Christ. Women and men are made in the image of God and united to Christ.

Because of these truths, women (and men) are worth so very much more.   A woman or a man for that matter worth is secure in Christ.

It is essential to realize in Corinthians Paul is not saying believers should never associate with unbelievers, at all. Believers should continue to live and function in the world in a Christ like way. (1 Corinthians 5:9-10)

The teaching in 2 Corinthians 6:14-16 is saying that Christians must not enter into a binding and partnering agreements with non-Christians. We also discussed if you are married or in a relationship with a person who is not a follower of Christ, what do you do?

We do not always eat just to satisfy physical hunger. Many of us also turn to food for comfort, stress relief, or to reward ourselves. And when we do, we tend to reach for junk food, sweets, and other comforting but unhealthy foods. You might reach for a pint of ice cream when you are feeling down, order a pizza if you are bored or lonely, or swing by the drive-through after a stressful day at work.

Emotional eating is using food to make yourself feel better to fill emotional needs, rather than your stomach. Unfortunately, emotional eating does not fix emotional problems. In fact, it usually makes you feel worse. Afterward, not only does the original emotional issue remain, but you also feel guilty for overeating.

5 Tips to combating emotional eating using Godly principles are:
Pause
Prioritize
Pray
Plan
Practice

What does it mean to restore or experience restoration?  To be restored you need REST. Rest comes from the word restore. Many times, rest is one of the most underutilized tools when it comes to weight loss, health, or just life in general. Throughout the bible, you will see the word restore in there many times. God showed numerous times that he restored different places and people.

As a personal trainer and my clients being mostly women, you all do so much. From trying to take care of the kids, to trying to keep the house in order, along with trying to be there for significant other, as well as trying to hold down your own job, not to mention the different other things that may come up like church meetings, meetings at schools, kids’ extracurricular activities, you trying to finish school, etc.

Therefore, so many people want to do the famous New Year’s RESOLUTION. I want to take a different angle and instead of a resolution let us make it a New Year’s COMMITMENT. Before some of you can commit, you need to be restored from trials, pains, past, 2020 and more. I am going to discuss 4 ways to begin to restore. I call them the 4 R’s.

  1. Replace
  2. Renew
  3. Revive
  4. Return

In her books, Jennifer is open about her journey and talks about keys that helped her to escape the snare of anxiety.  The one thing is for sure, we have to direct our talk to God and cast all our what if concerns on him because only he can give you the assurance that everything will ultimately be okay. After 15 years of personal training, with most of my clients being females, this is one of the things I see regularly. Good women, God fearing women, Christian women etc. chasing after men that do not treat them like a man of God should be treating them. As a man trying to follow God by living in grace and not perfection, I wanted to give my perspective and opinion. The three points I discuss are:

Start spending time with better guys.

Stop being ok with giving so much and receiving so little.

Stop waiting around and start living.

Let me emphasize this not something to be-little no woman or  to say all men are bad.  This is just thoughts on what I have seen over the years. Anointed Touch is about empowering and encouraging women. Therefore, my perspective as a man of God is hoped to be a blessing.
