Douglas Sandberg is credited with this great sales line: Sales Sells the First One, Service Sells All the Rest.” We are doing something different tonight with three members of our Technical Advisory Board – From Top to Bottom we have Chris Dougherty, Ryan Hadley and Randy Murray. All familiar faces and they are among the elite Technical Service Experts in our industry. And we are not going to talk a lot about “service.” Consumers trust service technicians more than most other people in the dealership. Most RVers love an opportunity to have a one-on-one discussions about which unit to buy, which manufacturer creates less service issues, what aftermarket accessories they should add to their RV, what can they do to learn how to fix things on their RV, and other things that may not be related to service. They do this because they trust them. So, tune in tonight and pretend you are at a dealership or RV show, and you run into one of these professionals – What would you ask them?
Training is an investment, not an expense. We take you behind the scenes of the RV Technical Institute in Elkhart, IN to see one of the most critical programs they have available to our dealers - the Authorized Learning Partner program for multi-location national programs to train technicians at all their locations. There is also a local subscription for a single location that offers an affordable option for Level 1 and Level 2 training. Tonight's show will talk about these programs and how they benefit you - the consumer - the owner of an RV that wants to know what their particular dealership is doing to provide the level of service expected by today's consumer. Our customers are thirsty to learn how to protect their investment an assure years of RV enjoyment, especially Gen Z, but pretty much all segments of the market and all types of RVs. The industry responded in 2019 to the dramatic increast in RV sales and the need for more certified technicians to service and fix them. Fast forward five years and results are fantastic. Join us tonight to learn why these programs are important to you and our RV dealers. And we want you to join the conversation and contribute with your experiences.

It all started on Wednesday February 14, 2018 when John and Bob took to the airwaves with a new Internet show that was created over drinks at the bar on a little white napkin. John came to the industry as an experienced RVer after retiring from a career in radio advertising sales and some local television shows in Springfield and Worcester, Massachusetts. Bob, also an experienced RVer, began writing, speaking and consulting in the RV industry in 1996, while building one of the most respected document conversion companies in the Northeast. His RV hobby became his passion after leaving the corporate world in 2013.
This week on RVing in New England, Bob is taking a night off and Uncle Bernie will be backing up John as guest co-host. You have probably seen articles in the media or heard stories around the campfire that say large motorhomes can not be sold in CA starting next year. Five other states, including MA, will be right behind in the next year or two. There are new rules on motorhomes based on weight, emissions and ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicles), and other factors around The Clean Air Act. We have asked our good friend Chris Dougherty, The RV-PhD and industry consultant to explain this issue in an understandable manner for average consumers. This is an evolving story and there will be many changes, so don’t panic. Chris will provide us a high-level overview of the laws and what the RV Associations are doing to delay implementations and get exemptions for chassis and RV manufacturers. See you at 7PM ET.

Not when it involves RV dealers and the education, networking and workshops that are the highlight of this event! The very best dealers in the country assembled in Las Vegas last week for the RVDA Convention/Expo. This is the most important meeting of the year for RV dealers. Especially our NERVDA dealers who were in attendance. The investment of time, money and resources at this event confirm the importance of training that will allow these dealerships to deliver outstanding sales, service and support to their customers when they get back to the dealership. Chris was the Chairman of the Convention Committee. A dedicated RVDA volunteer through the years, he and his team delivered an incredible program. Chris, along with cameo appearances from other NERVDA dealers that were in Las Vegas, will explain why this is the best investment they can make each year to make your RV purchase and experiences fantastic in 2025.
Well, the long anticipated national election is over, and we have a change of leadership in Washington. What impact will this have on our economy, and specifically the RV and Outdoor Hospitality industries? The best RV dealers in the country are in Las Vegas this week for the annual RVDA Convention/Expo. In a recap article by reporter Travis Pryor for RV Business yesterday, he wrote about a ”Trump Bump”- referring to the positive response of a Trump administration taking office on January 20, 2025. THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL SHOW. We are going to talk about our thoughts and what impact we will see with the new administration as we get ready for 2025. Is this the “bump” we need to ignite a new level of confidence that will provide an increase in RV sales, boosting the economy, and brining new excitement to the RV and Camping industries? Early indication in Las Vegas are that it will.

Hear the words of people that were there.
We love it when Sherri Fuller, the first lady of RV rentals in the Northeast slows down enough to spend time with John and Bob. Earlier this year Scott Bahr joined us to talk about the Camping & Outdoor Hospitality Report, 2024. It was the Top-Level Overview and he mentioned that this year there was so much information gathered, that KOA chose this format with the intention of listing interim in-depth reports on major aspects impacting today’s campers. Well, KOA hit a home run with these reports, and we asked him to come back on and discuss the two most recent ones: OUTDOORS AND WELLNESS and CAMPER PROFILE. The new generations of campers (for the most part) are healthier and eat better than their parents. They also don’t want to spend their time sitting around a campfire cooking S’mores. So, what do they look like, where do they go, and what aspect of the Outdoor Hospitality industry draws them into our lifestyle and how do they enjoy it? In an RV, Glamping, Boondocking? Join us to find out.
We are into that July-August great camping season. The weather across the country is interrupting the camping plans for millions of people. Have you experienced any bad weather this season? Would a bad forecast cause you to stay home? Uncle Bernie is sitting in for John this week as he enjoys NYC with his granddaughter. Did you know this is an incredible time to buy a new RV? Dealer inventory is high, the selection of product is fantastic, and financing options will keep your payments low. Many RVers decide to buy a new camper after coming home from a camping trip. They see a new floorplan or new type of RV.
Did you blink your eyes and read that title again? Harvest Hosts, and their creative CEO, Joel Holland, has a unique position open – and somebody is going to wind up with their dream job. Joel hopes the Chief Retirement Officer can shed light on how to retire at any age and make the most of it. Joel will join us tonight and tell our audience even more about the position. Bring your own questions to find out more about this opportunity. This is real, and somebody is going to be the Chief Retirement Officer at Harvest Hosts!

Do you feel like we were shot out of a cannon on January 1, 2024? We launched the year with several successful RV shows, including our own Boston RV & Campground Expo. Lower MSRPs, aggressive discounting and a lot of new RVers – just like that! We turn the mic over to our fans to get their view of how the year has started. What did they see, what did they like, what new features caught their attention, did they buy at a show this year, are they now thinking about buying because of what the industry has to offer? It’s exciting to see all the action, positive vibes and new products.
What an incredible show last weekend in Boston. Based on the reports from our dealers, a few broke their all-time record for this show and others exceeded their expectations. In the midst of all the excitement we met two new companies who will be joining NERVDA in February. We will touch on their innovative products, show a few videos and talk about the over all impression of many new buyers who were met with aggressive pricing that we have not seen in over five years, and many new affordably priced RVs that had unbelievable prices and plenty of sales reps to write up all the orders. Join us tonight and learn about two innovative companies that are going to be very busy after our show.
Bob & John will be reporting remotely from an undisclosed location. So, Uncle Bernie and Bill Sell will be at the helm keeping the show moving. As we discuss the Boston RV and Camping Expo coming up January 25th-28th.
Each year we find that almost 50% of the attendees at the Boston RV & Camping Expo are experiencing their very first consumer RV show – based on our seminar surveys. For many of them, the experience is overwhelming. They come to the event thinking they are going to see a large hall full of new RVs – and they do. However, the real value of an RV show lies in the many topics under the picture of the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center during our show each year. John and Bob, and most importantly our dedicated fans, will give advice on these topics and help you in your pre-show planning to maximize your visit to the premier indoor RV show in the Northeast.
First thing on the agenda for January should be a visit to the Boston RV & Camping Expo, January 25-28. Will let you know how you can win the Winnebago Hike shown to the left. This unit is provided by Seacoast RVs, our program sponsor. Tell all your family and friends to join you at the show. Bob, John and Uncle Bernie will cover some of the seminars and the launch of our SNEAK PEEKS as we head toward the show opening on Thursday, January 25 at 4PM. We will also announce the winner of our Solo Stove contest held during the month of December. We will soon announce a contest for January and want some ideas from our fans on what they would like to win as a prize in the new contest
RV Trip Wizard is one of the most popular trip planning products for RVers in our industry today. John will be using this software on the caravan to Quartzite. NERVDA “big fan” Walter Swenson is going to show how to use the software to make life easy on the road or getting to the campground. This week we also feature the wagon master of the caravan, Bob Kelley and how he got engaged with this project. Spot2Nite signed on as a partner and is one of the fastest growing reservation systems when looking for a campground at the last minute, when you don’t have any reservations. Spacious Skies continues to grow their network of campgrounds and has several here in New England. Make your reservations early for next year’s camping adventures.
John will also be announcing the details of his upcoming caravan with other Winnebago/Navion owners as they casually cross the country from Tallahassee, FL to Quartzite, AZ. John will be reporting from the road, sometimes live and other times recorded for playback later. He will also be with us Wednesday evenings for the show – somewhere between FL and AZ. Partnering with John for this trip are Campers Inn RV, EasyCare, Go RVing, RV Business, Spacious Skies, Spot2Nite, Winnebago, and Woodall’s Campground Magazine. Who’s training all the new RV owners that have purchased their first RV in the past three years? Where can consumers go to learn more about their RV investment and how to take care of it? Some of our best shows are when we can showcase RVers chasing their dreams, hitting the road, and checking attractions and campgrounds off their bucket list. This week is very special because Ron and Bob go back to their days in the Document Imaging and Intelligent Information Management industries. Bob owned a document imaging company and Ron was a representative with Minolta Corporation, supporting their microfilm and digital scanning systems and software.
Ron is one of the most highly focused and detailed people you will ever meet. He meticulously takes care of his truck and Jayco fifth-wheel. Along with his wife, Rose Therrien Seidel, they eat healthy, exercise regularly and are wonderful examples of totally enjoying RVs and RV adventure in your years after 60. Rose catches the fish she cooks in her large RV kitchen, after a day of mountain biking or hiking in one of our incredible National Parks.
When they hit the road every aspect of the trip has been documented – from the time the leave their Atlanta suburban home, until they return. And before they go Ron will wash and wax the truck AND the Jayco fifth-wheel. They have more energy than people half their age and live life to the fullest.

The RV Technical Institute released a YouTube video yesterday that focused on the amazing career opportunities available in the RV industry today for independent mobile technicians that offer on-site services not offered by many traditional RV dealers. They come your house, your business, the campground you are staying in or they will even meet you on the side of the road to help rescue your rig and that important family vacation.
To highlight this video, they featured one of our most qualified and respected NERVDA Associate Members, Ryan Hadley. Ryan came to NERVDA four years ago as he was launching his new mobile RV service and maintenance business. With the support of his wife Amy, and four wonderful children, it was time to chase his dream.
We are joined this week by the woman behind the headlines, the stories, the media coverage, the product placements, the use of RVs when enjoying various outdoor experiences, and other ways our industry is being exposed to millions of people every day. That woman is Monika Geraci, RV Industry Spokesperson.
We are going to discuss this article, touch on the success of the recently concluded National Go RVing Day campaign and see what is on the horizon for other PR events and stories that may be forthcoming as we enter the on-ramp of the 2023 camping season and the RVs that move America!
Are you ready to celebrate this Saturday? Are you going to visit a NERVDA dealer for Go RVing specials on in-stock motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth-wheels, destination campers and park models.
Are you going to make those arrangements for an RV vacation this year?
Are you going camping at one of our fantastic campgrounds throughout New England?
The Go RVing website is often the first place that many newbies find when exploring RVs and the RV Lifestyle.
Join us tonight as Uncle Bernie Culliton sits in for John. We will be discussing different ways people will be celebrating on Saturday and have some video clips with NERVDA dealers talking about this important date on our RV calendars – the second Saturday in June! Join us for a fun show.
Join us tonight as Scott Bahr, founder of Cairn Consulting Group, discusses the market research data that resulted in a name change for the most read annual report on campers and camping.
If you have attended the Boston RV & Camping Expo the past three years you know that our Technical Seminar Track has featured three of the most qualified technicians in NERVDA. So tonight we are doing something different – a service roundtable discussion for the full hour featuring Randy Murray, Ryan Hadley and Chris Dougherty. Together, they represent the service technicians throughout New England with their educational programs, dealer support functions, mobile RV service and repair and various consulting services. We will talk about the latest service and support trends, new systems that RVers will want to look at installing this year, important tips on getting great service and understanding your RV investment, and we could not have any service-related discussion without touching on three of the hot topics that all RVers are trying to learn, understand and invest in as we get ready for the camping season. What should you do? When should you do it? Where should you do it? With these guys ready to answer all your questions, you are not going to want to miss tonight’s show. They are the “best” of the “best.”
A news story in the RVIA Newsletter this week caught my attention. It was the story of Krystal LaMar graduating from the very first all-women’s Level 1 Certification class held at the RV Technical Institute in Elkhart, IN. Michael, already a home inspection professional, expanded his knowledge and business skills and became a certified RV Inspector through a different program. Together they hit the road and took the children with them. Michael did inspections and RV service work while Krystal did the office (on wheels) work. Soon, Krystal received an email about a scholarship for the above-mentioned pilot women’s class at RVTI. She applied and was accepted. She wanted to work on the RVs along side Michael. While at the class she met many of the RV Women’s Alliance leaders and was amazed at what they have accomplished with their group and the networking opportunities. Fast forward, Michael completed the RVTI Level 1 and 2 certifications and Krystal is currently enrolled in Level 2 hybrid program. She is doing weekly check ins with an instructor and will attend the 12th week in person to finish her class.. When RVTI was launched, its mission was to showcase the incredible career opportunities for RV service technicians. This is just one example of how well the program is working.
As we get excited about the upcoming camping season, we wanted to do something very different this week. This is another show just for you – our dedicated fans who have been with us on this journey. Did you know we are are in our 7th year of producing RVing in New England? Still the industries only ”live” online talk show every Wednesday evening at 7PM on NERVDA’s Facebook page. So, tonight we are going to take about ten of the latest press releases from various companies in our industry that have some exciting news to report, but sometimes consumers don’t get to see all this information because it is intended for the trade press – but it is all public information, so we are not going to give away any corporate secrets or talk about things that are not in the public domain. Here’s a few teasers on what you, John and Bob will talk about and get your feedback. Is it a good idea? Would you buy the product? Do you know there is a National Go RVing Day coming up in June? How is business at two of the largest campground organizations in the Outdoor Hospitality industry today? Would you buy a 17’ motorhome that you can park anywhere? A friend of our in the woods of Maine gets some well-earned national attention this week, and you can see it Friday. A road in Elkhart, Indiana is named after one of the strongest supporters of the RV industry, who was tragically killed in an automobile accident last year. We are going to look at a different way of determining what are the most popular National Parks, and Yellowstone Nation Park is way down at #39! And what would a show like this be without some stories on EV RVs – we seem to have a new story every week these days. So, tune in to YOUR show tonight and join the conversation – see the different ways people look at the products and services offered in the RV and Outdoor Hospitality industries. Have some fun and light that flame of great experiences just down the road in a few weeks as you get ready to Go RVing and enjoying the great outdoors.
Marc and Julie Bennett on the Benefits Of Thousand Trails Membership for RVers What tonight’s show is not . . . It is not a commercial for Thousand Trail’s membership program. However, two of the most respected authors in our industry who have been documenting their RV adventures since 2014, have recently published two very popular blogs that focus on their experiences as members of Thousand Trails. Thousand Trails may not be for everybody, but it is a very popular program with full-time RVers or those that spend a lot of time on the road each year. Marc and Julie will discuss the plans they found to be best for their RVing adventures and talk about some of the favorite campgrounds and resorts they visited while traveling around the country.
The first lady of RV rentals in the Northeast will be visiting with us this week as we discuss the rising interest in renting RVs for camping adventures this summer. This weekend Sheri will make her last appearance at a New England consumer RV show as she heads to Milford, NH for the 48th Annual New Hampshire Camping & RV Show. This is the end of her show tour for this year, having started with an impressive display and huge interest in renting RVs at the Boston RV & Camping Expo back in January. She’s been doing RV shows almost every weekend since then. Sheri will discuss the questions consumers are asking and areas of importance if you are contemplating renting an RV this year. Sheri and her husband Bobby founded the company in 1984 – and they will celebrate their 40th Anniversary of renting RVs – it’s their only business. This family-owned business, and dedicated NERVDA dealer, is one of the largest and most respected rental companies in the country today. If you have questions about renting an RV, Sheri has the answers. Join us for a fun hour with Sheri – it’s always great to have her on the show each Spring.
Join us tonight as we welcome Ali Rasmussen, CEO and Creative Director of Spacious Skies Campgrounds. They have five campgrounds in New England.

He is also host of the Heartland RV’s “Launching Life’s Journeys” podcast.
The “big day” is almost here! There has been a lot of buzz around the RV industry on the launch of a new “reality-like” television show produced by NRVTA’s Todd Henson and Tony Flammia. The show, titled RV UNPLUGGED will launch on YouTube this Saturday, March 11. RV Unplugged is a fresh take on a proven competitive show. RV Unplugged invites all types of RVs and RVers and puts them against each other to see who will become the next Unplugged champion and walk away with $10,000!!!
Chris Dougherty on 2023 After 2 Months! We welcome Chris Dougherty, of Dougherty RV Consulting, back to RVing in New England tonight. As the industry settles into a new normal that is more reflective of 2019, and our pre-pandemic growth, we invite you to join in the conversation about any topic you want to cover. Two months into the year and we have much to talk about. Chris is one of the most respected technical experts in the country and has worked as a service manager at an RV dealership, owned his own independent mobile RV service company, contributed articles to major industry and consumer RV and Camping publications, worked with RVTI on several projects – including the establishment of training programs at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office. He is also a member of our Technical Track team at the Boston RV & Camping Expo along with Randy Murray and Ryan Hadley.
This is always one of our most popular shows of the year. Scott Bahr will join us to talk about his continuing research and the monthly reports published by KOA. While RV sales are returning to pre-pandemic levels, the number of people enjoying the RV lifestyle and family fun around the campfire is increasing. Campgrounds are filling up quickly for 2023 campers. Scott will talk about his research and the coming camping season. He will also answer all your questions. John will also report on his camping experience this past week without his RV in a park model, in a campground, in Myrtle Beach. Don’t miss it.
We had great intentions last week but were overwhelmed with the amount of information we had to present to you . . . Our fans. We joked at the end of the show that we could have gone for another hour, so we thought we would! We are continuing our early show coverage with some great video clips we didn’t get on the show last week and have added another show to the mix – the Northeast RV & Camping Show that took place in Hartford last weekend. There is other show activity I’m sure our fans are going to want to weigh in on tonight as we present Part Two of this popular topic. The Springfield RV & Camping Show is coming up soon – what’s going on with this one? There appears to be two entities competing for space and dollars from our neighbors to the North. The New Hampshire campground association is pitching their show in late March in Milford, NH and there is a new player in the mix – Superman Productions,, who is courting dealers and campgrounds to be in their show in the Bedford Sportsplex. Is this confusing dealers and fans? Let us know what you think!
This is one of our most popular shows of the year and we give you a SNEAK PEEK into our 2023 Boston RV & Camping Expo. Special guests, dealers, exhibitors will be with us to have some fun to get you excited about the show. The introduction of the very first Girl Camper Pavilion as Janine Pettit introduces you to her organization that has almost 400,000 fans – women campers enjoying the lifestyle. Campfire chats, meet other Girl Campers and State Directors at the show. And a CAMPER-to-CAMPER seminar where the audience gets to ask questions of veteran campers about the lifestyle – Moderated by Walter Swenson and Scott Bahr – two fan favorites on our show! And SO MUCH MORE!

As the former Vice President of Sales at Sylvansport, Earl grew the business from $1 million to $17.5 million in sales in 4 years, primarily by going on the road to build a network of over 100 RV dealer locations. In doing so, he put over 400,000 miles on the road across North America to work personally with dealership owners and sales teams at their outdoor/ RV events to “drive the business.” You never had to go “looking” for Earl at an RV show – he would have the largest crowds as he demonstrated RVs and promoted camping and the RV lifestyle for enjoyment in the outdoors. He’s electric! Join us tonight and learn more about his new company and the Unity Blaze logo. “The Campfire” is our oldest tradition, and its warmth is engrained into our DNA. The Unity Blaze forges bonds across all aspects of adventure with the motto, “Treat everyone, everywhere equally.”
I first met Greg around 2000 when he came into the RV industry as an old-fashioned investigative reporter who researched what he was writing about and provided commentary – sometimes controversial – on opinions about the opportunities and challenges we encounter every day. Greg left the industry after nineteen years and pursued freelance opportunities in the RV and Outdoor Hospitality industries. He is also the voice of the Workamper News podcast and produces media releases for the NRVTA in Texas. His journey led him to an awakening to find a real purpose in life, and it came around his 60th birthday. His investigation into this field led him to some very interesting people and he discovered that many of these people found new careers – for a variety of reasons – after they turned 50 years old.Greg founded Forward from 50 to write about these people, blog about these people and help others to find a new life doing something that they are truly passionate about.Join us as we talk about RVs, RVers, life after 50 and why it is so important to do work that you are absolutely passionate about.
As the camping season gives way to the holiday season, RVers want to discuss the camping world we all enjoy, but see it changing rapidly with new buyers, new products, and new ways to enjoy their RVs. The demographics and age of the average buyer are dropping, luxury RV resorts are being built throughout the country, many campers are opting for Glamping experiences, the younger generations are looking for Boondocking and Overlanding type experiences, the industry is training more service technicians but consumers are still having difficulty getting service appointments, anticipation is building for the early consumer RV shows starting in January with our very own Boston RV & Camping Expo, and some folks just hop in their RV and become snowbirds for a few months to escape the New England winter – might that be you. Join us tonight and let us know what is on your mind and what you want to sound off or talk about.
Janine Pettit, Camper in Chief, and Lesa McDermott, South Dakota State Director, from Girl Camper will join us tonight. This is always one of our most popular shows when we can showcase the Girl Camper community that was founded by Janine and now has almost 4,000 Facebook fans that love camping and being outdoors! Don’t miss their gift suggestions tonight! You may even want to buy them for yourself! And speaking about “outdoors” - where better to enjoy all that we have to offer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts? John represented NERVDA at the press briefing at Wachusett Mountain announcing MA as the 18th state to establish an Office of Outdoor Recreation. Joining ME, NH and VT that have established one. See his exclusive interview with Lt. Governor, Karyn Polito on the importance of this office for all outdoor enthusiasts, especially our RV friends.
And in the blink of an eye the year another year will be in the rear-view mirror and we’ll be cruising through the holidays. Then it will be SHOWTIME! We started the year on the tail winds of two incredible pandemic years that saw record RV sales and over 250,000 first time buyers entering into the RV lifestyle. Around the middle of the year consumers started to feel the pain of inflation, saw gas prices rising, and RV sales started to trend toward the more normal years prior the the Covid impact that helped drive new sales for over two years.
As we close out 2022 our dealers have restocked with inventory they haven’t seen in years. The market is more competitive again and we are seeing discounted pricing not seen for quite some time. There really hasn’t been a better time for consumer to trade-in and trade-up or for more new first-time buyers to select a new RV. And the Boston RV & Camping Expo will see strong sales this year from our participating NERVDA members. What types of RVs do you want to see at the show? What topics to you want us to present in the Technical and Lifestyle seminars? John and Bob will answer all your show questions tonight on RVing in New England.
DiPietro Rocks in Elkhart, Indiana this week . . .
I got the easy assignment this week – sitting home with Covid while John had to do double-duty at the annual Elkhart Dealer Open House. He is working almost non-stop covering everything that manufacturers are showcasing to dealers this year. We will see some of these new and exciting products at the Boston RV & Camping Expo, January 13-16.
Seacoast RVs in Saco, ME was once again (over ten years straight) was recognized as the #1 Kropf park model dealer in the country.
Brinkley RV, a new company from the original founders of Grand Design RV, showed their first prototype of a luxury mid-profile fifth-wheel.
John even found time to co-emcee the RVWA breakfast meeting on Tuesday morning. John and Jessica Rider, Managing Director of RVWA entertained a large audience of industry women, and men, who are fully supportive of the RV Women’s Association and their many programs.
John also spent time with our media friends at RV Business and Woodall’s Campground Magazine, comparing notes and discussing the highlights of the week-long event that is the highlight of the RV industry each September.
Two of our favorite RV friends are Julie and Marc Bennett of RV Love. Since arriving on the RV scene over ten years ago,, this couple has garnered an incredible following with their wit, wisdom charm and ability to present the RV lifestyle in easy-to-understand terms through their videos and award-winning books. And speaking of books, if you have already started your holiday shopping you will want to pick several of them up for your RVing friends and family members.
Julie and Marc recently posted about busting five common RV myths with real life examples and proof! They will also talk about another blockbuster post about the cost of RVing over eight years, and full-time vs. part-time RV costs.
They don’t just write about the RV lifestyle, they have lived it and their RV Love brand is one of the most respected sources of trustworthy information for new and experienced RVers.
We are talking about PLAY and how it is being impacted by many different factors that will determine how you enjoy the RV lifestyle next season, as you put the covers over your RV or take it to storage unit for hibernation.

I was introduced to Eric earlier this week when one of our industry experts encouraged us to take another look at eBikes and see some of the major technology advances and engineering principles that has established the foundation of a new player in the industry, Gocycle.
Eric is the Business Development Manager for Gocycle, and he will join us tonight to talk about RVers (he is one) and the increased adoption of eBikes as a must-have accessory whether you are boondocking and hiking on government land or touring the country in your 45’ luxury diesel pusher motorhome.
This is one of the lightest foldable electric bikes on the market today. The new technologies incorporated in the manufacturing process, and the engineering that created this bike, make it one of the most popular new products that RVers are talking about around the campfire,
As we all know, the industry saw incredible growth in the sale of new RVs the past two years. Along with this growth came new generations of people discovering the RV lifestyle, resulting in 50% of RV sales going to new buyers who had never owned an RV. Many of these buyers wanted to spend more time enjoying the outdoors and the many things you can do when you own an RV. Likewise, new accessories, such as electric bike sales have also taken off dramatically. RVers do favor folding bikes to save valuable storage space in the rig.

City Bonfires - a great success story of two guys figuring out how to create safe campfires!
Kim Foley MacKinnon is an award-winning journalist with more than 15 years of experience in a variety of media, from newspapers to magazines to websites.
A new phenomenon has been emerging over the past few years as millions of new RVers hit the road. Campgrounds are getting crowded, alternative overnight accommodations like Harvest Hosts are growing by leaps and bounds, real estate investment companies are buying campgrounds or building new ones . . . And a new option is gaining a lot of attention – buying your own RV property.
As we head toward the end of summer and look forward to the Labor Day holiday weekend one this is very clear to us . . . For some reason, this summer feels like it passed through on overdrive and we just shake our heads in disbelief that the camping season (for many RV enthusiasts) will soon be in the rear-view mirror.

The Girl Camper organization, founded by Janine Pettit continues to grow and expand services throughout the country. The industry is recognizing the importance of this group and the fun they have created for women campers, and the buying power they bring to the marketplace. You have seen Janine on Go RVing videos, promotional product videos with CAMCO, and on national television. Breaking news issues this morning on the TODAY show forced a rescheduling of her planned segment, so we jumped in and wanted to bring her back on RVing in New England.
Janine is a fan favorite in New England and a frequent speaker at the Boston RV & Camping Show each year.
Depending on his availability, John DiPietro could be joining us – or sending a video – as he works his way to Florida with a stop today/tonight near Savannah, GA.

What are campers talking about around the campfire this year? What are they happy about and what disturbs them about camping and campgrounds? To find the answer to those questions we once again have Ben Quiggle joining us on RV in New England tonight.
Ben, the editor of the most read campground publication in the Outdoor Hospitality industry, loves to talk about campers and camping, so grab a chair and circle around our virtual campfire surrounded by laughing kids toasting S’mores and their parents and grandparents talking to old friends and meeting new ones. As the country rebounds from the pandemic and turns its attention to the challenges of inflation and high gas prices, we’ll talk about how resilient campers are dealing with these new challenges.

Very seldom does a product come along where you can honestly say it should be on every RV that has a propane tank on it, or every propane tank you have for your barbeque grill or home heating system. However, we have found one and it is the talk of the industry.
KOA North American RV Resort - This is always one of our most popular shows of the year. Scott Bahr talks about his research for the eighth annual KOA North American Camping Report. He will answer all your questions and highlight some of the most significant, and new, research added for this post pandemic report. This report is provided free to ALL campgrounds, ALL dealers and anyone who requests it, including their competitors.
Our NERVDA dealers are very active in their communities throughout the year. Many RVers follow the various divisions of NASCAR at small tracks around the country each weekend.
Myrtle Beach has long been an epic location for family vacations with RV enthusiasts. Known for large scale RV resorts with just about every imaginable amenity on the property. Many campers never leave these RV resorts because they truly do have something for everybody.

We are going “down” to Maine to talk with real people about the real world of camping away from the spotlights and the headlines.
Chris Dougherty is a familiar face around New England – and nationwide – when we talk about RVs and RVing. Our shows with Chris are always filled with useful information for campers as they get excited about the upcoming camping season. This year it will be a little different as local, national and world events dominate our headlines and present some unique challenges that we have not had to deal with recently.

Randy, Ryan and the Service Information You Need to be a Happy Camper This Year!
INCREDIBLE SHOW THIS WEEK - COULD BE ONE OF OUR TOP FIVE SHOWS THIS YEAR. WATCH THE REPLAY BELOW.
There are times in the media when someone used to yell, “stop the presses” because an important story came over the wires. In today’s world we stop publishing online newsletters and stop posting to social media platforms. In the past year, and certainly exacerbated over the past 30 days, we have seen parts of our lives turned upside down with headlines that may change many things in our lives in the next year.
It is a known fact that campers love campfires, S’mores, country music and NASCAR. Did you know that at any NASCAR event there may be upwards of 10,000 RVs on the property or in area campgrounds.
Mike Perry from Dealer Resources Group will be making his annual winter/spring appearance on RVing in New England Wednesday evening.
Very seldom does a product come along where you can honestly say it should be on every RV that has a propane tank on it, or every propane tank you have for your barbeque grill or home heating system. However, we have found one and it is the talk of the industry. An incredibly engineered, affordable and simple to use device that you will want to buy when our show is over tonight, if you haven’t already purchased it.
This isn’t going to be a sales presentation – it will be an informal discussion with Mike Ray, President and Partner at Diversified Power Systems of Clearwater, Florida. It also is not a paid informercial. It will be a frank discussion about propane gas, propane safety, and a device that should be on every RV on the road today and in every parts and accessory store at your favorite NERVDA dealer. Quite simply, it is one of those great products that make you scratch your head and wonder where it has been since propane was first discovered in 1857 by the French chemist Marcellin Berthelot, and it became commercially available in the US by 1911. Propane is one of a group of liquefied petroleum gases (LP gases).
GasStop is a 100% emergency shut-off device for propane gas systems. In the event of a major* leak GasStop will instantly and automatically shut-off the flow of gas. Not only is this device an easy to fit, autonomous must-have safety device, and it also has a useful multipurpose gas pressure indicator. If you use gas, you should use GasStop.
Join us tonight as we discuss everything you would ever want to know about propane and how to protect your family and your investment in your RV while enjoying the RV lifestyle we all love.v

After waiting two years, RV enthusiasts around New England will be heading to Boston this weekend for the return of one of the most popular RV shows in the country as we kick-off show season with a return to in-person shows.Tonight, Bob and John will answer all your last-minute questions, talk about the NERVDA members you will meet at the show, cover some of the incredible RVs on display, review some of the great Lifestyle and Technical seminars and hopefully and have some photos of the exhibit floor as the move-in process has started.
We welcome back Carolyn Weston who is the Paragon Group executive overseeing this major event. Paragon Group owns and produces the Expo, which is always the first consumer RV show in New England each year. This year the show opens January 14. With the support of some of the best RV dealers in New England, we expect a great crowd of RV enthusiasts who are happy to be able to go to an in-person show again.

The rush of the holiday season is here - Thanksgiving is already in the rearview mirror and Christmas will be here in just ten days! We have a lot to talk about but want you to drive the conversation tonight. Join us tonight as we get into the holiday spirit and bring your hot chocolate, or something stronger. See you at 7PM … right here on RVing in New England. Are you traveling for the holidays? Are you joining snowbirds in AZ, TX, FL this year? Are you checking the dates for our Boston RV & Camping Expo? We are giving away some complimentary tickets to this great show during the show tonight. What do want to see at the RV shows next year? Join us as Jerry Plante from Major's RV continues our conversation left over from last week on holiday gifts for your special camping and RV friend or family member.
The rush of the holiday season is upon us and Thanksgiving is already in the rearview mirror and Christmas out there on the horizon. We have a lot to talk about but want you to drive the conversation tonight. Want to talk about the 2022 consumer shows in New England? How about the rising gas prices – will it impact your camping trips next year? Have you noticed that dealer inventories are up and special deals are out there and they are getting units ready for the Boston RV & Camping Expo. How about holiday gift ideas for your family, friends and camping partners. What would you like to receive this year? What RV gifts will you be giving this year? Is anybody going to put a new RV under that big tree next to your driveway all decorated with holiday lights? Wouldn’t a nice camper van, motorhome, travel trailer or fifth-wheel look great outside your door – and would your family be surprised to see it there?
John and AJ will discuss how a new generation of RVers are using RVs to do more backpacking, hiking and fishing while using an RV was their base. In other words, truly enjoy the great outdoors and all it has to offer outdoor enthusiasts. AJ discusses how he and his wife converted a 30-year-old BOUNDER RV into an ultra modern hotel on wheels after their floor to ceiling renovation….with no prior renovating experience.
Our fans will be able to ask AJ what problems he encountered during the renovation and what he has used the RV, nicknamed DORIS for on his travels through the Western United States. Tune in tonight for something different, something fun, and something that will make you think about hitting the road!
Have you ever thought of full-time RVing with the entire family? Join us tonight and learn how Kimberly Travaglino and her family did it.
As the camping season winds down and RVers are preparing their rigs for hibernation, our thoughts turn to the holidays with our family, friends and loved ones. Unfortunately, there are challenges facing our country today that will impact many of your buying decisions this year. Cargo ships sit idle in Los Angeles and Long Beach harbors, companies struggle to hire workers in all industries, and large behemoth retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Target and others warn of shortages that will delay holiday gift giving.
Well, we have the perfect solution for you as John and I will lead a discussion tonight on the creativity of campers and RV enthusiasts and how you plan to work around the issues.
As RVs become more complex, especially in the area of electronics and electricity, one man has surfaced as the premiere RV electricity expert – and that is Mike Sokol, the author of the best-selling book; RV Electrical Safety.
We are happy to have Mike return for his second visit on RVing in New England.
Mike has been an instructor at the Boston RV & Camping Expo. We hope to have him back with us in January next for the 2022 event. He draws huge crowds of RV owners that want to better understand the complexities of RV electricity and how to identify challenges with the new technologies being built into our towables and motorhomes.
Automation and integration of sophisticated systems that you control on your smartphone, are something our parents and grandparent never had to deal with.
Guests Marcia Galvin of Normandy Farms Campground and Mike and Anne of Honey Trek talk about Glamping with John DiPietro.
What was camping like in 2021?

Where do all the new first-time buyers go for education? The same place veteran RVers have been going for the last 22 years!
In 1999 Mark and Dawn Polk had a vision of what RV consumer education in the future should look like. It was a video tape – remember those? Through the years the business evolved with each new technology and continued to grow. Today, RV Education 101 is the premiere consumer go-to website to learn about their RV training programs and have a library of information that directly relates to the type of RV they own or are considering buying.
The industry is abuzz with the increasing popularity of van campers, Type B and small Type C motorhomes powered with lithium battery technology. Fueled (no pun intended) by young professionals working from the road, outdoor enthusiasts that have embraced boondocking and off-the-grid activities, and new families living and traveling in an RV while road schooling their children.
Meet Andy Robinowitz and Patrick Buchanan explain their RV LIFE PRO software and how it will make all your RVing experiences more enjoyable.
Where Did The Summer Go?
Labor Day is in the rearview mirror, nights are a little chilly, and we want to squeeze out another month or two of fall camping. But, it is now time to get the RVs ready for winterization and who better to turn to then our good friend Randy Murray, Director of Service for Pete’s RV Centers.
Live from the 2021 Ally Rally of Alliance RV Owners
Something different for you this week! We are at the Alliance RV 2021 Owner’s Rally in Elkhart, IN this week. The rally is being held at the Elkhart Campground and we will be broadcasting the show from the rally and engaging with the company owners and many of their customers who have made the trip back to where their Alliance RVs were made.
End of Summer Review with John and Bob
As we come into the long Labor Day Weekend, It’s crazy to think that our short camping season here in New England will soon be ending! This will be followed with about six more weeks of camping that will get us past the Columbus Day weekend and then you get ready to hibernate your RVs for the winter or head South for some snowbirding adventures before we see you back here in the Spring.
Join us for a fun hour with Mark Howlett, COO of Truma - an industry leading supplier of heat and water systems, propane systems, coolers and air conditioners.
Rescue My RV
As the industry continues to break records every month with new product sales, it creates opportunities for new companies to enter the industry with exciting new ideas and services. One of those company’s is our newest NERVDA Associate Member, Rescue My RV, the brainchild of co-founders Brenton Jones and Philip Pietrowski, Jr.
Although they market the services to RV dealerships, we thought it would be helpful for them to talk to our fans about the service, what is is and what it isn’t and how they are helping RVers that have service issues or breakdown while traveling to their next destination or weekend camping adventure.
Incredible – Half-Way Through Camping Season
This has been another, absolutely crazy, season for RVers and RV Dealers and Campers and Campgrounds. And here we are half-way through the traditional Northeast camping season and we have so much to talk about, and we know you do also.
So, this week you are the special guests of the show and can talk about anything that is on your mind as we head into August and before we know it, the long Labor Day holiday weekend. Memorial Day and July 4th were washouts, but campers filled the campgrounds. After the 2020 pandemic year, nothing was going to stop us in 2021.
Let us know what is on your mind or tell us about something great that you did this summer, so far, and what you plan to do for the remainder of the season. Any great long vacations in there/
When Mike Gast majored in journalism at the University of North Dakota School of Journalism he probably didn’t imagine a twenty-year break in his writing career to communicate with the world about camping and campgrounds. As the VP of Communications for KOA, many of us in the media had the pleasure of working with Mike and his team as we witnessed the tremendous growth of that iconic brand in the outdoor hospitality business.
You have often heard us speaking about the National RV Training Academy and the National RV Inspectors Academy. Well, this week we are going to introduce you to a retired business professional that was an active Rver who decided to learn more about his RV. Along the way he turned it into a second successful career and has now self-published the story that many RVers are going to be able to relate to quite easily.
Win Semmler is extremely happy to announce that his book "From Retired To Small Business Owner" has finally been completed and is now available. The Introduction is written by Steve Anderson, president of Workamper News and co-founder of the National RV Inspectors Association. The book tells the story of how my wife, Joanne, and I went from being happy and satisfied retirees to even happier and more satisfied small business owners of an RV Inspection business. The book can be purchased directly from Amazon and soon from my business website. It is available in either eBook or Paperback format. Join us Wednesday night to learn more Win’s journey and how to become an RV Inspector.
The much-anticipated launch of Marc and Julie Bennett’s second book has arrived. And one of the first stops on their media tour will be right here on Wednesday evening. This passionate couple, authors of their best-selling Living the RV Life, has penned what may be the most sought-after RV book of the year, and it will quickly find its way to the top of the charts.
Boston Rob from the Survivor television series . . .
The millions of Survivor fans know him as “Boston Rob” and they know he married fellow Survivor contestant, Amber Brkich. Rob Mariano is the first and only six-time participant on the hit CBS show, Survivor, and he won the title of “Sole Survivor” on the show’s 22nd season “Survivor: Redemption Island”. He’s also appeared twice on The Amazing Race, along with his wife Amber, winner of “Survivor: All-Stars” (2004).
His latest challenge is an RV trip with the family, and they are one week through the three-week adventure. They will join us Wednesday from the road to tell us all about the trip and the impact it has had on their family to see this wonderful country up close and personal from an RV – just like many of our fans do every week.
Join us this week for this fun show and conversation with these two “survivors” and bring your best questions about their road trip and the experiences along the way. They are in New York City right now and will head down the east coast to Florida – where they now live – when they hit the road again. Boston Rob meets Bob & John – it doesn’t get any better than that for an RV enthusiast!
We have an exciting show lined up this week as we kickoff our third season of RVing in New England. How many times have you said, I just want a safe, clean and affordable place to sleep while traveling down the highway? Let’s face it, we all have!
Join us as we have an informal conversation with Jim Turntine, the owner/developer of the RV Self Park concept. In fact, it has gone from concept to reality and if you are traveling in Missouri you could be one of the first RVers in the country to try it out.
I’m sure our fans will have a lot of questions and feedback for Jim as he explains how he came up with idea and how he is making it happen. He will also discuss his plans for other locations along America’s highways and byways.
And it took an RVer to do it. We all know most of the great ideas in RVs and campgrounds come from veteran RVers who solve the challenges of the lifestyle and make it easier for others.
What makes a full-service dealer unique? Cold Springs RV is a true full-service dealer that offers everything an Rver would need to enjoy their RV. First, they have a large inventory that covers everything from pop-up trailers to park model RVs for destination camping. Inside the dealership you will find a large parts and accessories store. After sales service is available in their new state-of-the-art RV Pro Service Center. Want to go camping? Why not stay right there in Weare at the five-star Cold Springs Camping Resort? If you need pant and body work, they take care of that also at their Pro RV Paint and Body Shop and when camping season is over, they can store your RV right on the property and have it ready for you in the Spring. That’s what Cold Springs RV means when they say FULL SERVICE!
What a Difference a Year Makes! With Memorial Day Weekend in the rearview mirror, the camping season is off to a wet start but with great expectations of a return to a more normal lifestyle in the great outdoors. Tonight, we want to hear from you, our fans, campgrounds and dealers on your views of what camping will be like in 2021 versus the pandemic we endured in 2020. John and I will present some questions on the current state of the industry with respect to RV sales, product availability, getting campground reservations, boondocking and other campground alternative accommodations and trip planning in advance versus just picking up the phone and making a reservation at the closest campground to where you are! Combine all that with an unexpected increase in RV sales to first-time buyers seeking alternative vacation options and finding out that RVs provide them a safe, healthy and enjoyable family experience as they discover adventures right here at home. To say the RV industry and the outdoor hospitality industries are undergoing a dramatic transitional shift to a new paradigm would be the understatement of the year. Join us and give us your point of view.
Uncle Bernie . . . not your average RV sales rep! It can be difficult to stand out from the crowd, especially in such a competitive environment among our NERVDA dealers and the professional sales reps that help consumers find their perfect RV. One that stands out is Bernie Culliton, affectionately known as “Uncle Bernie” by many of his fans. His jovial, and creative personality, make him one of the most popular sales reps at the Campers Inn RV location in Merrimack, NH. Bernie’s always looking for new ways to introduce RVing to all the new prospects discovering RVs in the post-pandemic environment. He is one of many Campers Inn personalities doing product videos that are posted to many social media platforms. Tune in to watch his special holiday singing special reviews from last December. Most recently Bernie has launched a new radio program called “All Things RV with Bernie Culliton and Friends” on WFEA 1370 AM in New Hampshire at 9AM Wednesday mornings. It can also be found on your favorite podcast platforms. I’ve been on with Bernie and John was his guest this morning. Tonight we turn the tables as Bernie joins us for a fun discussion of his passion for RVS and RVers and the ways he reaches out to them to help them make memories for a lifetime.
Nathan and Alicia Lawson will open their ”dream come true” campground on June 1 – and it’s only a five-minute walk from one of NASCAR’s most popular racing venues. You will love the story about how they purchased this property and built a new campground.
Their successful business ventures and careers in real estate and pharmaceutical sales brought them into the outdoor hospitality business in Lincoln, AL and they cut the grand opening ribbon in just a few weeks.
With a strong family history of military service, they have a “Founding Members” program that allows campers to enjoy a $40/night rate forever if they stay two nights in June. If you can’t stay during June, you can donate your nights to a veteran. They also have a fund- raising program where campers can buy a brick with an inscription of a veteran or a loved one.
Alicia is personally calling EVERY guest that will be staying with them for the opening ceremonies. Her vibrant personality and attention to detail is going to make this one of the best “new” campgrounds in our industry this year.
John found Eric Jackson a few months ago when he read a story about a dog driving a motorhome into a lake. It was Eric’s motorhome and he’s a full-time Rver, a World Champion and Olympic Kayaker, a very successful entrepreneur, and a YouTube star. He is a four-time world champion and Olympian who is considered the most successful freestyle kayaker in the history of the sport. For the past 15 years he has coached almost every gold medal winner in freestyle kayaking, including his son Dane.
Exciting things are happening in New England with Blue Water Development and their two campgrounds and a new Adventure Land experience opening this week. One of our newest Associate Members has major investments in the outdoor hospitality industry right here in New England. This multi-million-dollar investment is now open!
Our guest this week is Randy Murray, Director of Service at Pete's RV Centers.
Baseball has returned, flowers are blooming, good weather is arriving and that can only mean one thing, we better get Randy Murray back on the show to make sure you kick off the camping season the right way. And that means understanding all the things you should be checking out, making appointments for service work, and doing some spring cleaning inside and outside your RV.
We want everyone to enjoy trouble-free camping, but it doesn’t come automatically and these hand-made pieces of mobile enjoyment and camping under the stars do need some TLC to be READY when you are ready to hit the road.
Randy is a YouTube rock star with his helpful videos on a myriad of topics and is the Director of Service for the five Pete’s RV Centers from New England to Indiana. You get to have his undivided attention for a full hour tonight between 7-8PM right here on our NERVDA Facebook page. Tune in and get ready to tune up your RV.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” Mark Twain may have said this, but Traveling Robert lives it . . . To the fullest.
Join us tonight as this videographer, song writer, content creator and all-around nice guy tells us about his journey to stardom on the Internet. He has over 180,000 followers on YouTube, over 40,000 on Facebook and a very loyal fan following that is growing rapidly.

Have Tools Will Travel - The role of the independent/mobile RV technician in our industry today!
Record sales in 2020 and a forecast that says we will break that record again this year and that means a MILLION new RVers looking for service and support so that they can enjoy the RV lifestyle.
We have a tremendous legion of independent and mobile RV technicians around the country who can supplement the services provided by our dealers, handle remote warranty repairs, focus on specialized aspects of our business such as propane, electrical systems and the new sophisticated technology built into entertainment and control systems onboard RVs.
Ryan Hadley (Holden, MA) reached out to NERVDA and wanted to join the association to get recognition for his new business and serve RVers and dealers in keeping our owners happy and on the road. There are many more technicians like Ryan out there and we should welcome them and support the role they play in our industry today.

Female volunteers from RV companies and organizations from all across the country have come together to fully renovate a used travel trailer from “drab” to “fab”!
THE CHANGING CAMPGROUND LANDSCAPE Increased demand for RVs puts pressure on campgrounds
We don’t have to tell experienced RVers how challenging it can be to get reservations at their favorite campground. The incredible increase of first-time buyers is an entirely different story - their experience in learning about RVs and the campground industry is the proverbial equivalent to drinking from a fire hose.
Mia Caetano Johnson is a well-respected broker who only deals with campground owners that want to sell and consumers or business entities wanting to buy or build a campground or RV resort.
What are consumers looking for as the demographics change quickly to a younger profile? What makes a campground an excellent prospect to sell, or an attractive property for someone to buy. We are also seeing a ten-year high in commercial real estate investment trusts taking a serious look at campground investments as commercial building investments lose their luster.

Podcaster, writer and RV industry consultant, Greg Gerber, returns to the show this week.
It’s no secret that our industry is enjoying an influx of new RV owners that have never experienced the lifestyle before, nor have they been in a campground. Now, more than ever, it is important for our industry to provide products and services that will keep them in the lifestyle for many years into the future.
Greg Gerber has been consulting with several companies that are Associate Members of NERVDA this year. The National RV Training Academy offers technical training courses for RV technicians and consumers to help fill the many open positions in our industry today. Consumers can travel the country and be members of Workamper that allows them to find jobs and earn money while on the road. A new program, the Small Business RV Boot Camp will teach consumers everything they need to launch their entrepreneurial dreams with a “work from the road” business. There are many stories about the impact of the pandemic on many charitable causes in our local communities and on the national stage. One of those charities that is near and dear to the camping communities and RV industry is Care Camps, a wonderful non-profit organization that sends kids with cancer to camps for smiling vacations away from the daily pressures of fighting cancer at such a young age. Yes, we all have friends and relatives who have suffered and died from cancer, and yes, we are making significant progress in fighting this dreaded disease. However, the pain and heartache are much more severe when it affects the children of our loved ones.
The charity is facing $1,000,000 shortfall after the forced cancellation of its three biggest annual fundraisers, along with the COVID regulations impacting hundreds of campgrounds across the nation that typically do their own fundraisers to support Care Camps.. The RV industry is stepping in to help replace the deficit and provide funding for future growth and expansion as more kids survive the diagnosis and need to have that great outdoor experience that Care Camps provide to them at campgrounds around the country.
NERVDA will also be stepping up, along with Level 5 Advertising, to support programs being developed that will allow RV dealers to become engaged with Care Camps.
Join us Wednesday evening as we discuss the organization, the great work they do for kids with cancer, and her plans to work through the pandemic and come out stronger and more financially stable due to the generosity of campers and RV companies.

Fresh off the launch of their new Girl Camper Magazine, with chapters organizing around the country, podcasts, and her popular Camper College for women – we will have plenty to talk about Wednesday evening. When a business is planning for their 50th Anniversary celebration, the focus is almost always on the loyal customers that continue to come back year after year, generation after generation. That’s exactly what the Bayley family thought last year – as they planned for this year. 2020 is not the year that most of us envisioned, and certainly not in the RV and outdoor hospitality industries.
We are not going to focus on how we got to where we are today, instead we are going to have an informal conversation with Gaelan Bayley, a third generation Bayley and son of Tom Bayley, the General Manager. Gaelan is focused only on the customers that frequent one of the Northeast’s favorite family camping resorts. Over 700 sites and an incredible list of daily activities, four heated pools, a separate adult entertainment area and plenty to see in the Old Orchard Beach and Portland areas.
This year also featured the opening of a new restaurant and arcade area after the former building burned to the ground last June. Nothing is going to stop this juggernaut as they continue to improve the grounds and add new cabins and rental trailers each off-season.
Join us as Gaelan tells us about the season and what campers are looking for this year. He’ll let us know why families keep coming back to this popular campground year after year.
We have something different for you this week. Our friend Greg Gerber recently introduced us to Don and Pat Hawes after he had done a Workamper Podcast with them last month. They are Massachusetts natives that followed their dreams to head out to see this country, do some Workamping and build a business through their Camping Keepers website.
This is really a dream of so many people who are active RVers and often discuss things like this around a campfire with their family and friends. We know many of you have been in “that moment” and wondered what it is like, how you go about planning for it and what it is like once you actually turn the key and step on the gas pedal – look at each other – and smile, knowing that you made it happen.
Don and Pat will tell us about their journey, the things they have seen and done along the way, their revenue generating activities that sustain the lifestyle and what the future looks like for them on the road.
They are currently home in Southern New Hampshire and will take some time out of their busy schedule to have an informal conversation with our engaging audience of RV enthusiasts who often ask questions about ”living the life they dream of. Join us tonight at 7PM for another great show.

Tonight it’s all about our fans as we have one of our Open Discussions on any topics you want to bring up or we will choose from a list that John and Bob have prepared.
We thought it was time for another night with John and Bob to talk about things important to you, things that drove our RV and camping experience the first six months of the year, and gaze into the crystal ball and see what we think the last six months of the year will look like.
This has been a year like no other for most of us. As the ball dropped on New Year’s Eve the air was filled with optimism about the great year ahead. The economy was strong, the RV industry was opening up consumer shows with record attendance and RVers were already getting excited about the camping season. And then on March 13 the world was turned upside down.
Fast forward to May and RV sales go through the roof and half the new sales are being made to people who have never owned and RV and have never been in a campground. So what does this mean for our industry, our campgrounds and RV enthusiasts for the rest of the year?
No idea where the discussion will go because our viewers will be driving the conversation. Join us, join in . . . What do you think will happen?
f you have been RVing for a few years, you have certainly come across the Polk’s and their wide variety of RV education resources. They saw a need for more consumer education back in 1999 and have since built the #1 education resource website for RV enthusiasts.
Gather your questions and join us Wednesday at 7PM as Dawn and Mark make a return visit on our show. Some of the things we will cover are:
And they are active RVers, with their dogs, and are always welcome when they pull into a campground in their motorhome – always willing to answer questions and solve problems. Oh, did I mention they are two of the nicest people you will meet in the RV industry, so join us and meet them Wednesday evening.
While the past few months have been a whirlwind of uncertainty and new experiences, the professionals behind the scene have been very busy with new agencies and new ideas that are just being unveiled to consumers. This week we have an opportunity to talk with Karen Redfern from RVIA, one of the people most responsible for putting this massive undertaking together and now rolling it out in phases across the country. Under the Go RVing banner, the new campaign is called Go on a Real Vacation. Join us Wednesday evening to learn what it takes to put a campaign like together and what dealers and RVers can expect in the month’s ahead as we get ready to go camping once again.
Many have asked “What’s Behind the Yellow Sign?” But have you ever wondered who the person is that is responsible for marketing all things related to that yellow sign?

Join us for an interesting and fun discussion.
Great show tonight with Chris and Jason Andro of Hemlock Hill RV. Watch the replay right here. Chris literally grew up in the industry, starting with the family campground and then their RV dealership, which he now owns with his sister Michelle and brother Jason.
Chris has also given back to the industry for many years, both at the state and national level. In November he will become Chairman of the Board of Directors of RVDA.
Many RV enthusiasts engage with one of the many RV communities under the Social Knowledge umbrella and probably don’t know the man or the story behind the site they often frequent.
What if you could ask one question to Andy Robinowitz, the founder of Social Knowledge and home to 32 RV-related websites and forums that communicate with their 1,000,000 members every day. What would that question be?
Well, this week you have that opportunity and hopefully you will join us and ask Andy himself.
Andy founded the company 20 years ago with an Airstream Forum, but you may know some of his more popular communities like: RV Life, RV Trip Wizard, DIYRV, Campground Reviews and the very popular iRV2 forum. Learn how he created sites that have generated over 1.5 million discussions and over 15,000,000 posts by members of his many RV communities. Get your questions ready, this is going to be fun!
We checked back with the RV Women’s Alliance to learn about the recent appointment of Sandy Ellingson as their first Executive Director. The volunteer women who founded the organization are still involved, but the growth of the organization required more attention and they’ve got the right woman to handle it.
Sandy announced a new national consumer program on the show tonight. Watch the show and learn all about "My Camping Dream is . . ."
We interviewed Scott Bahr of Carin Consulting Group. Scott is one of the most respected market researchers in the RV and Outoor Hospitality industries. He is also the man behind the numbers and charts in the annual KOA North American Camping Report.
