I wrote a book!
I'm not doing a massive release or campaign for it to come out, but I am letting folks know about it. I've begun using NotebookLM, an AI tool of Google's for a variety of things lately. One of the things I love about it is how it can produce an AI hosted audio podcast based on documents imported. Out of curiosity this week, I uploaded the manuscript into NotebookLM and was seriously impressed.
I decided to share that with you. My book is specifically aimed at normal-size church leaders/pastors and that squarely lands inside of the Productive Pastor family.

Finding the perfect productivity system first means admitting the perfect system doesn't exist. But an appropriate one, unique to you, does exist. I find systems tend to run in cycles, and at the end of one, hopefully we have found a new tool that actually provides deep value.
Over the last few months, I have been relying more on analog tools because I have to be adaptive in a new ministry context. Let me share more about deciding what tools are actually helpful and how I am integrating analog tools back into my workflow.

You ready for the blue pill moment?
What if I told you quarters aren't about a 3 month block, but instead a strategic block of time. They are a stratigic season where we get to decide if things need to be big or small.
Taking advantage of quarters means we can be intentional about the goals we have, the habits we are creating, the way we are measuring things and what we can genuinely be realistic about in life.

So how do you draw boundaries?
It’s actually pretty hard when you don’t know where you need them to be. At the beginning of this episode I share a quote from Henry Cloud in his book Boundaries for Leaders.
A boundary is a structure that determines what will exist and what will not.

And for us to create a healthy understanding of what ministry should (and can) look like for us, we have to have a working understanding of where those boundaries need to fit.
And I think the Time Audit is the perfect tool to use for that reason. (and many others). Let's talk about how to do one.

Welcome to the 2nd episode of the Productive Pastor! 😁 This episode is the final episode in our interlude before we kick season 1 officially off!!! It is so awesome to be back with you. As I thought about how I wanted to restart the whole Productive Pastor ecosystem back off, I knew I wanted to find the chance to be a little personal and take the time to share why I felt the need to shut everything down several years ago. I also wanted to talk briefly about the ways I have grown over the last few years and why I feel like it is important to bring things back together. To do this well I knew I needed another storyteller to be part of all of this. My friend Omar Al-Rikabi was the perfect person for this. I had interviewed Omar on a previous episode during the first version of the podcast, plus he is just a great all around friend. We chatted on a phone call about all of the things mentioned earlier and it was a fantastic time. I can’t wait for season 1 to launch in December. I am excited about it!
