"They can't out-exegete us" has long been a rallying cry for abolitionist pastors in the SBC. Pastor David Goza has proven the slogan accurate once again.
At the Louisiana Baptist Convention, Goza contested that because God forgave Paul for sins he committed in ignorance, mothers should be allowed to murder their babies in the womb without any legal consequence. Shockingly, his argument was persuasive to enough messengers in the room that abolitionist pastor Brian Gunter's equal protection amendment was voted down.
Russell, James, and Rachel tested Goza's argument against scripture and plain reason, and suffice it to say, his argument was found wanting.

The Abolition of Abortion in Louisiana Act was sailing through the legislative process without any Republican opposition before the Pro-Life Establishment organizations in Louisiana and nationwide came out against it. We dissect their statements in opposition to the bill.

Oral arguments in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization supreme court case took place last week. We sort of care. We’re interested to see what positions the culture is forcing the court to adopt, and we’re interested in the outcome because it affects the next steps in the abortion battle. But in a sense, we don’t care. The Biblical and powerful way to fight abortion does not in any way rely on the supreme court’s opinions. In episode #68, we analyze what we heard from each attorney and supreme court justice, but also emphatically say that all of it should be ignored by the country and child sacrifice should be immediately abolished.

Haas, brought the Southern Baptist Resolution on Abolishing Abortion to the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention in Flint, TX on November 8th and 9th. Unlike in OK, SC, UT, ID, and AR, Texas Southern Bapitsts voted down the resolution, and instead passed a resolution celebrating the heartbeat bill.
