Our simple actions have an impact and they affect the whole in ways that can be visible to us, but often are not. The exuberant abundance of a small wildflower circle that I planted a few weeks ago was a powerful reminder that the seeds we plant will bloom and thrive in ways we can not always predict.

During these powerful times on the earth our inner voice is being called to metaphorically (or sometimes literally) plant seeds that will bloom and thrive attracting pollinators that will take their sweet nectar and create sweet abundance in the collective.

It's pretty apparent to many of us now that the simpler way of being, which is in flow with nature and without conquering anything. We are losing interest in forcing ourselves into practices and programs with complicated manuals, practices and rituals.

Wait if I am not the I I think I am

and they are not the they they say they are

then what are we even doing going down those obsolete, obfuscating pathways anymore

Instead let's walk away from all falsity into the truth of what we are it's time right? ~

It's time for us to transcend the systems and embrace what we have always been. To listen and hear the song inside of us, talking to us in the language of love. We hear it in the silence of our heart, in the sound of the river rushing over rocks on the shore, in the sound of the wind rustling the leaves - and we feel it in the vibration of the roots of the tallest trees and in the sun's pulsing warmth.

As my friend and mentor Kaya Usher (thesimplicityplatform.com) said, "We're simplifying ourselves, the more natural we become, the simpler we become. We are able to transcend systems when we come into a higher frequency. We are able to transform those systems. Solutions will come to you. You become so refined in frequency you need much less. You are able to transcend and move through simply and effectively - going beyond what you have always been told."

We are here now to bloom, to thrive, attracting all those who will enjoy our nectar as we give from this overflowing cup of love that we are.

Be your own gardener and allow those beautiful seeds you carry to bloom in you.

We are each of us so important in our own simple actions. It's time to remember that, and remember our connection with each other. Why simple acts matter and how they are able to connect us to each other, to all living beings with the frequency of love that is our true connection.

This episode is an invitation to notice how we have often thought that our actions were of little power or consequence and to ponder the questions; What if we choose to inhabit that which we do not "know" - What would this world get to be - What "magic" would unfold as normal - What wonder would we create - What if we remembered the power of our true connection with all of life and our actions sprang from that knowing?

YOU are important in your own simple actions. You are a sacred drop that moves the ocean of consciousness creating ripples.

(2 poetry offerings) Beloved, nothing need come between us now as we stand alone on our mountaintop ringing in the new

While what is done still rages on in the valleys it will soon take its last breath

We each continue to breath the fresh mountain air we have been longing for knowing it was always coming here now

Open your arms wide beloved and welcome it in with your whole heart for you have anointed yourself over and over for this moment and the next and the next and the next

You are not alone

We are here we are legion we are love

As we join the chorus a song of gratitude rises organically from our throats raining its pure frequency down on this planet

~

At the top of the in breath

Let the waters settle beloved as you remember more of what it means to be free landing lightly in your expanded self pausing a moment as your wings dry letting pain release as you settle into more of your brilliance

This ever changing momentum of the love we are you are

~

This episode is an invitation to notice how you may have been reacting to things and fixing or fighting them using the same frequency that the un-preferred state had shown up in your life. In fact, many of us are noticing how we've been finding beauty and richness, how we've managed to shift parts of our lives that didn't work into more preferred states. Imagine, because we have been trained to work with what's in front of us - that we've been using this old radio to tune into "better stations." Fiddling with the dials to shift things in our lives to affect a better outcome for ourselves, our families and even our world. What if we had another option? What if we recognize that those dials are only a slice of reality and actually someone else's idea of what this world is and should be?

What if we choose to move away from the "radio" altogether. What if it has been a great distraction that keeps us from, as my friend and mentor Kaya Usher says, "…living knowing where you come from."

What if you notice where, when and how often you are tuning outside of you, from your own knowing and innerstanding. What if that time was spent instead on being with your own self connected to your true source. That place where you already know. You already know what is right and what isn't.

In this moment we/humanity are being collectively called/invited to stand more strongly on our own mountaintop. That one inside our hearts. The one where we know what is true.

When we began sensing there was something more, something sacred in ourselves, we naturally looked outside of ourselves. It's how we were trained or entrained to look at the world. The retreats we went on, the books we read, the practices we followed - all came from that old radio dial. We recognize that what we sought outside was just another program on that stagnant dial. Then we are ready to move into knowing more of ourselves.

As we stand on this threshold moment, we can feel a kind of numbness or confusion. After all, we haven't been in this place before. This fresh moment when the markers we had don't make sense anymore. Know that the frequencies available here and now are supporting you - if you are willing to take the time it takes to step into the next part of your journey to inner-standing. And know, that there are also others with you also standing on their thresholds ready to reclaim this new ground without fiddling with the old radio dials.

We are hearing this song. We are the light of this world. Standing in the sacred waters. Gathered in Love, Gathered in peace. Gathered in freedom. Gathered in Joy. I think that song is also what the mystical poet Rumi might have been referring to when he said, "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there."

Let's meet there, in that sacred space of you, the place we will know what love we are here to make real in this world.

Sacred self care is something that changes and shifts with the times, but at it's core remains the same - being present to what is, not meeting with resistance, but responding with the boundary of love that we are. This episode is an invitation to notice where you might have "gone deaf" to the call of your own heart - why, because you do already "know" what is true and what resonates with you in this moment.

We already know what isn't true what doesn't resonate - let's stop focusing outward on that noise and pay more attention to what's coming up inside. We can discern that the voices/noise that contracts isn't true, isn't us, and we are learning to be in more mastery of the voice of our own deep wisdom. We are ready to leave behind the path of pain looping that keeps us repeating lower frequency patterns like shame, blame and guilt. We're turning to, and tuning into, the voice that invites us to expand. We are tuning our inner ears to that beauty.

Using the metaphor of biodynamics which sees farms, "not merely as plots of land but as living organisms deeply connected with cosmic rhythms." Our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies as a bioelectric field, we know, are connected in the same way to cosmic rhythms and not the synthetic "reality" we see around us.

Allowing ourselves to spend quality time with our own knowing before we reach to something or somewhere else to tell us what is.

Cultivating what you want to see in your own life, rather than accepting the seeds sown by others means standing on the solid ground of your own internal mountain.

If you are a regular or semi-regular listener of the podcast, there has been a recurring theme that has been evident through the last several episodes. How do we, to the best of our ability, embody ever more of our truest selves in these powerful times on Earth.

For instance Episode 203, Tending your own evolution in these powerful times was about the call to embody something new, something more of ourselves by letting go of obsolete pathways. Episode 202, Witnessing as an act of self love, part two was an invitation to notice where we might be hiding behind patterns and programs that are not serving us the greater community - or humanity itself witnessing as an act of self love that invites others to show us their true beauty. Episode 201, Time to quit watering seeds of past identities, or how we have confused numbness with pleasure. That title says it all.

And finally, Episode 199, You as the fulcrum of consciousness here and now; "Many of us are tuning into the incredible amplification of energy happening now. The amplification includes both the chaos and the positive frequency of our beautiful embodiment of pure love. This kind of love once seemed the purview of mystics or saints. Now, it is becoming more apparent that it is our time to embody, in whatever humble role we can, this kind of love.

We are being called to hold this space in our own lives. The call of this moment is to join the ranks of those "manning the fulcrum of consciousness" as it expands into it's next evolution, and at the same time we ARE the fulcrum. In the stillness of ourselves, we're learning to "lift" off the falsity, division, distraction and self hatred programs that need to end. We are being asked to choose, to lend our hearts to creating heaven on Earth for all living beings.

This choice is ours."

Continuing the exploration of embodying more of ourselves. What is it we keep bumping up against and how do we move past that to embody more of who we truly are?

We are not alone. Yes we do choose to embody this love we are on our own, but as we stand in that we begin to see/feel/know others are also gathered because we are that strength together. We are here, we are legion, we are LOVE.

Can we choose to hold the magnificence of who we truly are. Can we open our arms wide, spread our wings and allow more of our true source embody. Yes, yes we can.

Much love

Many of us are recognizing that the way we have lived is in flux and we are being strongly called to embody something new/more of ourselves. One of my teachers recently asked us to notice where we were "sponsoring what we now know are rapidly becoming obsolete pathways." The invitation is to notice and tend your own evolution of what you are meant to embody here and now. Paying attention to where you are putting your focus. Noticing what modalities that may have served you in the past are no longer working for you, and perhaps are even working against your growth. Like a plant that has lived, and perhaps thrived, underneath a protective glass dome—the time has come to lift off the cover so we can grow beyond what we have been.

It's time to stop watering the seeds of past identities and start landing in our own new way of operating. What is that for you? What are you meant to release for your growth? You receive the most brilliant answers to that when you inner stand yourself, when you spend time in the silence of your own being connecting to your true source. It's there that you almost effortlessly reset. You reconnect to the rhythm of who you are meant to embody in this time. Connecting to the rhythm, the universal flow of who we really are—pure love made material.

There is a brilliant golden pulse that is here to support our evolution. It's calling you to stand in more of your true self.

Much love

Beloved, you were not made to remain the same

The sacred waters of life are meant to flow freely through you

You are like water rushing over rocks

And so beloved, notice where you may have become stagnant water

Your true source calls you to life's ever evolving dance, letting go of what is done

Move beloved , with the ease of a waterfall,

one who never holds on to the rocks it moves past ~

Part two of Episode 185 Witnessing as an act of self love and universal love. This episode was prompted by my friend and mentor Kaya Usher's comments this morning when she said, people, places and things can wait for your answer. A powerful reminder that we can wait for our own best answer, which may take some time, as we come into alignment with our own source connection, and not in reaction to the timeline or agendas of others.

People can often hide behind responses, patterns and programs that are not serving humanity. As we encounter these people, places and things, how can we choose to embody what we truly want to see in this world. How can we speak or act in a way that will lead to more love in this world. How can we embody the medicine that is needed here and now. In part, we can do that by choosing to take the time we need to witness our own selves in alignment with our own source connection, rather than from the head space where our patterns and programs dwell.

So many of us long to create more sacred spaces for ourselves, our children, for all living beings. We long for deeper connection to our unlimited selves.

How can we navigate the choppiness of differing opinions in order to get to the real gold. That authentic voice of light which lays beyond is more easily perceived when we can authentically witness ourselves first. Then our discernment of who, what and where to contribute to and with comes forward. We can then begin to weave our golden threads into something that is true medicine for this world. We can choose to speak and act from our alignment to the living pulse we are materialize. This brilliant doorway that opens within you to more of your unlimited expression.

How then can we use witnessing to build community with authenticity and love as it's foundation. I think this is the poem I wrote many years ago when I taught Witnessing as a practice helps to innerstand;

Show me who you are and I will celebrate that beauty with you

Show me how you are here expressing

Show me the beauty of your authentic voice witnessed, I long to hear it, as much as I long to hear my own

Show me who you are and my ears will drink in that beauty in you

As I open to see the beauty in myself and allow myself to be witnessed in all the ways I move in this world, I can see more of the dance of love expressing and moving through you

Show me who you are , and we will dance barefoot on the Earth with joy

I will give you all the space you need to show me who you are,

I will witness your grace as you show me that note being sung through you to all of creation

Those notes we sing together with our love as we bring medicine to this Earth

Show me who you are—truly

and we will sing with that beauty in both of us

(poetry copyright Christine Pensa) ~

If we come from this space of witnessing ourselves, and others, we can choose to interact, or not, from that sacred place in ourselves free from programs of division and fear. The action comes from a self love that naturally radiates a deep joy to everything around us.

Much love, Christine

This episode is an invitation to notice where we have confused numbness with pleasure. We've been sold and educated on false pleasure. Pleasure is meant to open us up, not close the door to the world of discomfort and false selves. Exploring why we might have been misled about what pleasure means and why it's an important element right now to help us to stop watering the seeds of the past, including our own past identities.

As we recognize where we are watering the seeds of past identities, we begin to notice our own evolution. We pay attention to the shifts we are ready for, our upgrades and we can truly nurture what is there in each moment. Then, we can turn our brightness to the unlimited nature of our true being. We release with more ease, not closing the door to our discomfort and not prolonging the stay in our divine bodies.

Host Christine shared moving through a recent painful experience and how paying attention to where she might have run a program of numbing out or distracting, instead choosing to allow enough space for the moving through and release of the physical and emotional pain. The experience led to a deeper inner standing of the nature of suffering and how we as humanity are sweeping suffering and it's attached programs from our divine bodies.

Humanity is sweeping suffering and all manner of falsity off the table

Resetting this world new community laid upon a beautiful cloth woven with golden threads shimmering with pure love

Beloved, you are called from the cave of your heart back to this root of who you are to join the unlimited feast

This episode is an exploration of metaphor as the sweet nectar that calls to you and allows you to discover more of the sweet, sweet nectar you are for this world.

So often a metaphor appears right in front of our eyes. Consider that it has been sent by our own hearts to point us in the direction we are longing for. The message is quiet, gently insistent asking for our attention, very different from the cacophony of the outer world banging on. If we are willing to pay attention, metaphors become these beautiful tiny seeds planted, calling us to move into more of the vastness of our being.

Which metaphors are calling to us in our own garden of the future. What seeds do we want to cultivate in order thrive, rather than just survive. Choosing is our low key superpower. Choosing allows us to notice and begin to work in alignment with nature. Choosing to hold and nurture what feels both unknown and also in a way completely and utterly known. This nectar feeds us and, at the same time, we are the nectar. We are both. We feel both in our bodies. Our bodies have the knowing. As we become more adept at tuning into that wisdom and inner standing, we operate in a lighter and yet more powerful flow with our own sacred selves.

The invitation is to notice what gently insistent metaphor is appearing right in front of your eyes. Will you answer the call to embody more of your own brilliance. You choose.

Many of us are tuning into the incredible amplification of energy happening now.

The call of this moment is to join the ranks of those “manning the fulcrum of consciousness” as it expands into it’s next evolution, and at the same time we ARE the fulcrum. In the stillness of ourselves, we’re learning to “lift” off the falsity, division, distraction and self hatred programs that need to end. We are being asked to choose, to lend our hearts to creating heaven on Earth for all living beings.

This choice is ours. Will we stand in the solidity of ourselves, our true selves connected to our Source of love. What if we all chose to use each moment of our lives as a fulcrum, not only to move into more of ourselves, but as a point of power that can lift that consciousness of all living beings into a positive high frequency.

We are here. We are legion. We are love.

When you are the still point and that fulcrum. You allow the momentum to leverage your being, you likewise allow mutual becoming, as we all open into more of our pure love. As you hold that silent solid strength of yourself, you do not effort to move mountains, they move around you as it were. Part of the distortion has been the thought form narrative that one person isn’t able to make real change in this world. When you imagine yourself as the fulcrum, there is no raging against the machine, or feelings of futility. There is just a deep knowing that you are here now to stand with those lifting all living beings above the chaos simply by being who you truly are.

Thank you for being here and being a part of this incredible time on Earth.

The invitation of this episode is to notice where you are aligned, or not, with nature. Noticing your ability to tune into thriving versus survival in these times. Now is the moment to let flow, or flower, the pure love you are here to embody in this world.

Paying attention to how you are moving through your day and noticing how nature’s timing can model a natural flow in each moment. Though it is also in our nature to flower, to evolve, we have a program that says, I want to get “back to health”. What if instead of fighting to get back to who we were, we allowed ourselves to evolve into something more? What if we let go of that part of ourselves that wants to return to former and instead focused in the moment on what the un-preferred experience was leading us towards so we don’t get the in the way of our own evolution?

I shared the lessons from a tiny apple tree and the heart opening joy of seed saving, which led me to deepen into the knowing we are here to cultivate, tend and plant new brilliant potentialities. Despite the possibility that some seeds we plant will not survive, because they don’t need to, while others will thrive beyond our expectations, we continue cultivating in each moment the seeds that call to us. We move in alignment with that clarion call from our own Source, which leads to joyful creation, tears of recognition, wonder and a deep sense of knowing it is ours to do.

It is part of our beautiful evolution to tune into those seeds that are ours to plant here and now.

This poem is also one of the seeds I plant in this moment…

Mountain

Once upon a time you spent millennia with the silent songs inside the mountains

Your heart soars at the remembering of this home

Now beloved, it’s your time to weave that love into this world to thread the wonder of that strength into every fibre of your living

So that every living being turns toward that grace within

And connects us all once again to pure love and nothing else _

As the Awakened Woman Self Care podcast enters season 8, it seemed fitting to have a guest join me to sing us into the next season of our becoming.

It was a joy to welcome singer-songwriter Sydney Jones to share her genre of music, which she calls, “rhythm and sunshine.” Sydney applies her life experience and connectedness with nature, our limitlessness, and the importance of staying in the present moment during this time of conscious awakening. Her positive, life affirming lyrics lift and open the heart of listeners.

We talked about her latest single and how our own creative expression can be a catalyst which opens the hearts of others, allowing them to connect with their own pure note of love. She writes both the music and lyrics to her songs, and invites listeners to interpret her songs through their own inner light in whatever way opens them up to the expression of their purest essence.

Each element, word, and rhythm in Sydney’s songs echo her connection to, as she puts it, her “heightened sensory awareness” of the natural world around her. She explains, “it’s not just like I’m appreciating the Sun, I’m really feeling those light codes. I’m really feeling the power of the Sun right now. It’s a whole experience of presence.”

Sydney shared that the resonance of actually singing feels like the best medium through which her unique expression could come through. Writing the lyrics, the melodies and creating cover art for her work is the way she allows it to blossom through her, always spreading love through her self empowering messages and spiritually uplifting content.

Sydney is at the forefront of music in these times as it was meant to express a part of who all of us are, the inclusiveness, and the sacredness of pure love.

Though this past weekend in many parts of the world has been programmed to mean the end of summer, our inner knowing and nature’s vibrancy would tell us otherwise. Noticing this how this lands in your own body, emotions and mental attitude is a great sacred self care practice.

During a summer full of lovely visitors, and all kinds of experiences, the cicadas came in as beautiful teachers for these powerful times of change. As I was able to witness part of their life cycle, I reflected on how the splitting open of their old world in what seemed to me a kind of backwards trust fall, was a brilliant metaphor for what we are experiencing in our human bodies.

After the cicadas shed their skin, they take time to rest and allow their beautiful green wings to open fully and dry before they were able to take flight in their new bodies. As many of us are noticing, there has been an amplification of the release of programs, and as that happens for us, there is this open space for our “wings” to come in. The invitation of the cicadas, for me, for us, was to allow time in the quiet to let those wings dry.

As we continue to move ever inward to allow more of who you truly are to be born and embodied in this world, noticing and allowing the time you need to integrate is your own powerful sacred self care. Not in alignment with the programs and patterns that have disempowered, but in alignment with your own source of pure love and the natural rhythms that are part of our journey here and now as human beings. Taking the time you need to notice what is coming through the landscape of your own being.

Much love

Episode 195 Navigating our natural conclusions in these times What are ready to walk away from and how do we move through the nuances of letting go in these times? This episode is an invitation to become present to what we are holding onto through habit, obligation or simply inattention. As I pondered the theme of this episode, I encountered a beautiful analogy around letting go. If you as you are now walked into a room and your friend of 35 years was there, would you still be attracted to them? Imagine that is not only a person, but a place, a thing, an action, a workplace—would you still be attracted to those things if you saw them across a room now? Would you expand or contract as you interacted with any of these. In these times, we are being called to be ever more impeccable with what we are choosing to surround ourselves with. Recognizing the lower frequencies of habit, obligation or duty around a person, place, practice or thing and inner standing that it might be time to move away in order to be more of yourself. Walk into the room of your life right now, and notice all the things in the environment of you. Can you reconcile everything in this room with your true longing to fully embody the pure love of your own source. Notice if there is anything that diverts you from your own joyful expansion—importantly, without blame, or creating divisiveness. Are you ready to release what you may have considered a big part of your identity so you can welcome more of you in? Much love (for more information and episodes visit the show page at; https://www.artthatmoves.ca/podcasts/)

This episode is an exploration of what and why we become distracted by the mental, emotional or physical events that keep us small or in looping patterns, instead of choosing the bigger picture of our own divinity and natural adeptness for alchemising what shows up in our lives.

As we continue to move into a deeper knowing of our own divinity, we are being called to be more impeccable with letting go of what does not serve our future/new selves. At this precious moment when we are so beautifully ripe for the next expansion into ourselves we can get distracted by things that come in to pull our attention away from that expansion. As a metaphor, when you break your toe, suddenly your baby toe becomes your whole world. It’s an invitation to become aware of anything that harnesses our attention to focus only on our limitation, on our “smallness,” rather than an awareness of our “vastness” or divinity.

Recognition of how and where you are doing this allows you to let go with more ease and turn your focus to your divinity which naturally “alchemises” the distraction into your personal gold. It’s time to remember our divinity and see clearly our seat at the table. Noticing where and how your personal alchemy appears, and how you can use that to create a pure love soup for yourself and for this world. What is your unique recipe to bring to life here and now. It’s time to share it beloved.

When remembering our divinity becomes our focus through the “toe-stubbing” then we allow our natural alchemy to come forward to nurture this world with the pure love soup that is ours to bring into material form. It’s happening in the sweet silence of our true hearts. Let the alchemy of your song of wonder rise up and join in a beautiful chorus. Much love, Christine

Humans are naturally drawn toward beauty, because we long to know more of ourselves. It was spring two years ago when I recorded an episode on this theme, and as I re-listened this morning, I heard myself say that I had just received a “download” (not a word I would use now) that I had not yet integrated. Not a surprise then, that this morning felt very much the same. The only words that come to me are the few that arrived this morning in a poem;

Beloved, then those days arrive when you absorb so much love you are drunk with the wonder of who we truly are

Baptizing yourself in a river of grateful tears

~

(art & poetry copyright Christine Pensa)

In this episode there is a new introduction, followed by a reprise of episode 168. Re-listening was a great reminder for me and I trust for you there is something to remind you in your own journey.

It takes courage to see the wonder of who we truly are.

How it is that we can surrender into the beauty beyond the beauty we thought we knew? The first question that arises within our human self is how to move this through your body and into your life in a way that integrates into your everyday existence. It takes courage to see the wonder of ourselves because it means that so much of who we thought we were, including the “good” parts of ourselves, needs to go. The blinders need to come off or we cannot hope to see our own brilliance.

The invitation is to notice where the resistance in you is — turning to meet that part and then going beyond what you thought was the best of you.

Sacred self care is opening to find more of ourselves. We’re not fixing, because in this moment we are becoming the creator self by leaving behind the limiting beliefs and practices and images we have held onto. We are in the process of freeing ourselves.

We are stepping into more of our true brilliance, partnering with the Earth, and then with others.

We are the song that is being sung. We are the flowers that continue to bloom and we cannot be stopped. Our bodies already recognize and respond to the beauty beyond the beauty we thought we knew.

Much love, Christine

As we enter spring of 2025 our experience here and now is in perfect alignment with the season and it’s promise of new life on top of what seems to have run it's course. Many are talking about the end of the world as we know it and that seems to be reflected in what is crumbling around us. We are seeing more clearly the dysfunction in our infrastructures and we are turning our gifts and talents toward the sun of our own being in order to make this gift of being born, here and now, exactly what we had envisioned it to be.

To become born here and now is a gift - one we have taken for granted at times and one that is fast becoming more and more apparent to so many of us here on the Earth

We’re experiencing an escalation of events all around us—and at the same moment— there is a solid, slow deep peace if we simply relax into the silence of our true selves. We’re becoming more aware of the layers of existence, ones that have been “hidden” or just not attainable for us.

This new sight we have is becoming more tangible. We’re opening to the flow/the flow(er)ing of what is being brought into material form again. We can choose to experience and explore it because it is us. This is found through the silence within us where we recognize we are shifting and changing alongside the Earth.

I talked a little about this in a previous episode, Beyond the Butterfly. "There is an invitation to open to what comes after the butterfly. These next steps are not written in stone, but they are written on our hearts and in the trust we have for our own connection to pure love."

Like the butterfly, many of us are in the still point, drying our wings before we take flight. Though we may not know the how, what and why details, we are held in a profound sense of peace—knowing we are exactly where we are meant to be as we let the brilliant rays of the Sun/Our own light feed us.

Oh beloved, To be the oasis of peace in the world, To be the one who plants trees rooted in pure love, To be the one who seeds the next and the next and the next pure love flowering here, now Planting trees to repopulate the Earth with beauty is such an exquisite gift

Continuing to explore the nature of sacred self care as we change and choose to deepen into embodying more of ourselves.

This episode is an invitation to focus on the question - What are you making real? It’s a fine tuning of what we are experiencing and navigating right now in the outside world.

We have been socialized to forget that we do have a choice, even though the reflection from “outside” us often makes us think we are powerless to choose. We are becoming more and more aware that there are many things we have not knowingly consented to, and that we can choose differently, and choose more in alignment with who we truly are.

Division has been a continued distraction from our divinity. This knowing leads us to ask ourselves; What choices can we make to make real the world we know we are here to seed into being? How can we make pure love real? How can we choose in each moment to make real what each of us inner-stands we are free to create? How can we discern what our action or non-action is in each moment?

We are on the precipice of great change and it is ours to make real in alignment with our heart’s knowing. We can choose to pay attention to our own knowing at an ever deepening level, and we can choose to leave behind the “flavours” of what is anathema to our true sacred nature.

Beloved, you are here to carry the wonder of you, and that is enough.

As we continue to explore how to embody who and what we truly are, this episode is all about real beauty as a reflection of who we truly are.

The word beauty is often misunderstood. “Beauty” is even more important in times of challenge, change, and chaos. We are being asked to use the brightness of ourselves to put our attention on what “beauty” we want to see in this world, what beauty we want to bring forward. It is important and powerful for these times, and yet it does not have to be a grand gesture.

Small gestures, moments of wonder and gratitude are just as important as large ones. Not every pebble thrown into a pond will make it to the edges - but it’s movement will likely lift one tiny being as it spirals outward. Every time we choose to throw that pebble into the pond, we impact this world. Each of us has something beautiful to contribute to this world.

Beauty is choosing, beauty is change, beauty is evolution — and perhaps, just perhaps, that evolution brings us into something even more beautiful than before. We become the regenerative architects of this world. Isn’t that what we truly know we are here for.

Yes, beloved because that is who you are a living, breathing pure love wonder following your source of pure love.

Moving into 2025 feels different and the powerful expansion many of us are experiencing can also bring up programs that are anathema to self love.

Not only is self love is the center of the pearl of sacred self care, self love is the wellspring that comes from your vaster self, connected to the breath of the cosmos. It is foundational to your natural organic human operating system.

Your presence here is precious and now is the moment to be fully and completely expressing as that presence. Time to find the deeper wellspring inside yourself. Because you are part of an infinite presence, it is already within you, you are already that. We're all learning how to turn the volume up on our pure love embodiment, anchoring into the wonder of who we are. The more we can anchor into that, the more solid the infrastructure of the world we want to be, becomes - here and now.

When we tune into ourselves, we align to the natural rhythms of our true expression. Our body becomes a powerful tool that moves through this world of chaos, knowing the notes of it’s own song of self love. Playing it with more ease, precision and joy.

This song of self love is not only your heart’s "medicine," it is the "medicine" the earth needs now. No “time” for anything else now. As you expand into more of your own precious presence of pure love, then everything that isn’t that true presence will naturally (in its own timing) fall away because it has to.

The poem I read in the episode;

Time

The way we’re letting go now, A century in a minute

Millennia swept away, as time folds into itself

Beloved your precious presence

No “time” for anything else now

Let the last of the distractions you cling to Fall

Metamorphosis pulsing through you as you begin to seed the new beginning

~

Many of us are truly feeling, maybe for the first time, areas in our own selves where life has been suppressed lifting off. We are metamorphosing into our next evolution, past what we knew as the butterfly and moving into something different. We have a choice right now, and choice is our human superpower. We are able to choose to flow or become the flow-er. Flowering into more of ourselves.

This episode is an invitation to notice where LIFE has been suppressed in you. That can show up in a thousand ways. Paying attention to anywhere in your physical, mental, emotional or spiritual body you are receiving a message that you are stifled or suppressed. You inner-stand you are ready to choose to open to let this move through. You can acknowledge the leaving without becoming entangled with what needs to be released. You know now you are the flow(er) and you are meant to flow life through your whole being.

As the year comes to a close, this episode also invites you to notice AND celebrate where you have shifted already. What is it you have released. Acknowledging that also without entanglement.

May all that has suppressed life for humanity — be lifted from your shoulders, be also lifted from all living beings. May they be happy, healthy, and living in harmony with their own source of pure love. So it is.

~Beloved, allow what is leaving to be undisturbed in its departure

So much is falling away from what has been considered normal, YOU are not here for normal

You are here to embody your brilliance Let everything that isn’t fall away

Shed the tears which lubricate their leaving

Throw your arms open and welcome in more of YOU, flowing from your inner spring of purity

There’s no room for anything else on this journey now

The bells of purity are ringing out across the cosmos The Earth has answered You have answered More are joining every day

Sounding across the lands Raising your hand Raising your voice to sing once more the fullness of your love

Weaving the notes of Oneness together for all living beings~

The metaphor of the caterpillar and the butterfly has always been a powerful one for our own evolution - the trust and knowing the caterpillar embodies in order to let go of every single cell she was in order to metamorphosize into the butterfly inspires.

Now, there is an invitation to open to what comes after the butterfly. These next steps are not written in stone, but they are written on our hearts and in the trust we have for our own connection to pure love.

What is it exactly that we are being invited to move into? It’s the to move into more of who each of us is. Consider that we already are/have everything inside us to become what is beyond the butterfly. Just as the caterpillar trusts she is already the butterfly, we too can trust in order to expand beyond the limitations we have known. We are welcoming an evolution for ourselves and for everyone around us. There is no need for saving others, there is simply allowing the release of what we were to BE-come more of who we are ready to be. Moving through the world, focused, powerful, free, fully ourselves, that is what clears a path for others to become more of themselves.

This episode is an invitation to see, feel, and know what is next for you.

Noticing as you let go of so much that is not you, what echoes are returning and how little substance much of what was has for you. Moving forward solidly standing in your own source of pure love. It’s why we’re here at this powerful time on the planet.

~Oh that moment

When you realize The suffering is the nonsense that you chose to believe was you

When you innerstand You can Let it lift off

Leaves floating through the sky Landing softly at your feet

Then blown away on the winds Of the change You are Here Now~

Welcome to the next season of the Awakened Woman Self Care podcast. I’m beginning season 7 with an updated introduction and a reprise of episode 135 which was inspired by the phrase full of yourself, the episode explored the question, “If you’re not full of yourself, who else and what else are you full of?” I was prompted to re-listen myself this morning and it has triggered an even deeper excavation in me. I trust it will invite many of you to do the same.

The episode is an invitation to explore how much self you are full of, and noticing the programs, patterns and habits you are ready to release?

We continue to journey through terrain that is unfamiliar. Ensuring we cultivate more of our true selves is ever more important to navigate these times. As we are finding our new footing in this moment, many of us are watering the new ground with our tears. Those tears can be the emptying out of what is not us and stepping back into filling ourselves up with the truth of who we are and have always been beneath the clutter.

It’s an invitation to expand into more of yourself through the lens of adventure and wonder. An invitation to allow any tears shed to water the ground of you.

My deepest wish for you is to become completely and utterly FULL of yourself - here - now because that is what this world needs.

This episode is an invitation to move into more of yourself through self witnessing and witnessing of others in the purest sense. It’s an invitation to enter into your own deep wisdom — that part of you that knows that you are no longer interested in living in polarity and not only the very visible and evident polarity — but also the more subtle energy of polarity that keeps you from being in resonance with your own authentic self.

It's a call to reclaim the true essence of your divine and infinite nature, and to release, like a set of heavy clothes that no longer fit, the false programs you have been wearing.

When you become adept at truly witnessing yourself, you are able to deepen into the medicine of love that you are, you are better able to express the language of love that comes from connecting to your own Source without the interference of outside programs of polarity and division. It is a powerful act of self love, which naturally becomes universal love on this planet.

Here is the poem I wrote when I first taught my Witnessing classes years ago, which I think expresses the deep joy that true witnessing can bring to our lives;

Show me who you are and I will celebrate that beauty with you

Show me how you are here expressing Show me the beauty of your authentic voice witnessed I long to hear it, as much as I long to hear my own

Show me who you are and my ears will drink in that beauty in you

As I open to see the beauty in myself and allow myself to be witnessed in all the ways I move in this world I can see more of the dance of love expressing and moving through you

Show me who you are and we will dance barefoot on the Earth with joy

I will give you all the space you need to show me who you are I will witness your grace as you show me that note being sung through you to all of creation Those notes we sing together with our love as we bring medicine to this Earth

Show me who you are—truly and we will sing with that beauty in us

(Christine Pensa)

When you begin to know that aspect of yourself that is divine, that is infinite, that is pure love, and is here now to anchor that on this earth - you don’t need to judge, give advice, etc. when someone else is expressing. You honour the divinity of others and celebrate with joy as both of you move into deeper and deeper creative expressions of your embodied light.

As always, I love to explore the evolution of sacred self care for humans in this time - we keep choosing to become more of who we truly are and it keeps shifting. It’s challenging and exciting and sometimes frustrating.

This episode is a fine tuning of our capacity for change, presence, and focus as pure love beings in this time. We all have a role in this symphony of light, one that is being heard and played throughout the cosmos.

The metaphor of riding the wild horses was inspired by my friend Erin’s vision, and the poem below came forward in me;

“Ride

The English language lists just 127 synonyms for love

Beloved, let’s ride the wild horses into the infinite ways you know we can taste it

Your hair streaming wild, your eyes bright with wonder as you lead the world into that freedom

So it is”

We’re the riders of these horses and we are riding into more of ourselves, feeling exhilarated, maybe scared, full of wonder and yet we are also holding the reins because we DO have the instructions in our own hearts. That makes it even more important than ever to trust your heart, pay attention and be fully present with yourself first. The invitation is to become ever more impeccable with yourself and become aware of how the outside information (bafflegab) makes you feel. Does your heart open and soar or are you left being intrigued entirely by your mind which is subject to programs, distraction and diversions?

A loving reminder to take the reins and choose the horse you are riding into the next evolution for yourself, and, for what you truly want to see in this world.

This episode is a hybrid of the last episode, “Let the Waters Settle Beloved” and Episode 157 “Releasing caterpillar ways to embody the butterfly.”

Continuing with the powerful metaphor of the evolution of caterpillar into butterfly and how it relates to where we are right now as humanity.

Exploring how we invite in the new when we really don’t know what that will look like or how we will be without all the old modalities, practices, people and places that have populated our reality to date.

Our caterpillar style living was perfect for us in the past, but many of us are hearing the call to move and evolve by creating the personal alchemy necessary to evolve. Just like the caterpillar, we need to release what we have been, the ways we have known in order to be-come, to expand into what is next for ourselves, and for humanity. It’s time.

It’s time to listen to our heart’s instructions even though our minds don’t know what will happen next. Beginning by noticing what is feeling depleting and static in our lives, moving into the stillness of our own hearts to take stock of what needs to release, and finally, choosing to embody less of the old (caterpillar), and more of what is next (butterfly).

This is an invitation to listen to your own heart and ask, show me the beauty beyond the beauty I thought I knew.

In this episode host Christine Pensa explores how we can move through the polarity of solution and problem with more ease and grace. It’s been a trope that we don’t truly change until a problem, a dis-comfort or a dis-ease comes up in our lives. Then we set out to “solve” it. That’s not necessarily where we get tripped up, but we often use the energy of “trying” or “solving” something, which puts us on the same frequency (and in direct polarity) with what we originally perceived as a difficulty in our lives.

If we continue to loop with a “problem” in polarity, then we get trapped on a disempowering frequency, where the solution we crave continues to evade us.

Rather than walking a never-ending loop, we are called to sit in the stillness of ourselves to find the clarity that our own source medicine holds. “Let the waters settle beloved, for it is then you will find the clarity you crave.” In that space we begin to recognize the limitations we have taken on as though it is our own story and even believe it is written in stone. It is time to free ourselves from thought forms we perceived as solid and release them from our beautiful bodies by embodying the medicine we are here to be. Igniting our superpower of choosing to take whatever action is needed in a more efficient and streamlined way.

When we align with that sweet spot within and let the waters settle, when we allow our own source medicine, we invite ourselves to become something organic, new, and at the same time, infinitely more of who we have always been.

This episode sprung from the poem Observer Status (see below). It’s an invitation to move from an unhealthy observer role to a more healthy discernment of where external “authorities” make sense for us and where it is simply a program being run on a loop. As always, sacred self care means we are willing to take responsibility for ourselves.

As things in our external world become more visible, our role as passive observer becomes less palatable. We are being asked to consider ever more deeply, what are you choosing now? How can you turn up the volume on who and what you are here to bring to the world?

Noticing, observing if and how you might be unknowingly be letting your divine expression remain untold. It’s time to get up off of your seat and express through your art of living.

~Observer Status ~

Consider beloved

All the ways we have been relegated to the role of observer

Taught to be content, watching the dance of life unfold

Narration by self appointed experts, few allowed onstage, a puppetry of anointed ones

Consider beloved—who did this choosing—designating us as audience?

While the powerful stories moving through our divine expressions remain untold

Time to leave our seats

Time to remember how and what we are here to sing, to dance, to paint in this, our unique, infinite, ongoing art of living

Time to embody the cosmic song of life being sung through us

We know it’s time to wake up from who we thought we were and begin to thrive, and to live in harmony with all living beings. In part four of a story series, host Christine Pensa considers the evolution of sacred story and what that means for us right now on this Earth.

This episode explores these questions; What stories are we continuing to give our attention to in the external world? How do we notice the purposeful distraction and realign with what we know we are here to embody? How can we take the beauty and internal heart expansion that stories can bring and leave behind what doesn’t serve us?

The new story we want to materialize now is one that we can choose to weave and spin into this world. Remembering we are these divine points of universal light capable of spinning and weaving together a blanket of golden threads across the world — all by more fully embodying the love that we are.

It’s time to walk out of old stories, and recreate this world the way we know it should be. We can choose to become the new story of this Earth together, and it's more beautiful than anything we have been led to believe.

Much love

Elaira Flow returns for what organically became part two to our original episode 151. You can find that episode in the show page archives (Episode 151 The Curren-sea of our new businesses with Elaira Flow).

Elaira brings over 20 years of experience as a trauma informed somatic business coach, a healer with extrasensory abilities and an architect of new business paradigm that is necessarily holistic, including all aspects of ourselves. Over the years she has observed trends and directions of business and what is thought possible through structure only, which often does not work. Her work is an invitation for us to approach business (and life) holistically.

The spark that lit this joy-filled conversation was Elaira’s instagram post about the clarion call to move into being a leader in our own lives, rather than accepting everything outside ourselves. Self leadership capacity is one of the things she focuses on in her work. She shares that in the new business paradigm we are the leaders of our own lives, claiming both that freedom and responsibility for ourselves.

This year opened with a powerful new frequency in which many of us are hearing. It is a call to step away from simply accepting what has been, and being filled with what we don’t want, into more of what we want to see on this Earth now. Elaira invites people to notice and compare how much of their day is spent accepting life, and how much time they spend per day “crafting life,” dreaming, choosing, paying attention to what they truly want.

Elaira has crafted a model of 8 capacities, all of which are holistic, reaching into our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. She calls our businesses, the dress you put on these healed aspects of yourself—learning and recognizing your capacity covers it all. Aligning our energetics, our blockages, our nervous systems so the mind and the action steps can flow, rather than staying as Elaira says, “in familiar hell.” She says if we create from the brain only, we continue to create what we know and we do not step into the dreaming because we become sidetracked by the “greed of how.”

Capacity work does not mean we will never encounter fear or doubt, Elaira says, the difference is that we will learn how to hold more, both the “good” and the “bad” so nothing stops us from moving through in alignment with ourselves, with flow and with ease. With pioneering work like what Elaira is offering, this is how, together, we change the world. So it is.

My guest in this (love) full episode is Jarmila, Transparent Crystal Spirit Guide, Blue printer, Soul master healer, and human issues energy healer. As Jarmila shares; “Through my work I have found that my soul originated from the Prime Creator, the Infinite Mother Goddess of All Creation. At the soul level my choosing has been of healing divine service through the physical representation of sacred feminine and to participate in co-creating of new path-ways bringing freedom, higher consciousness through many healing modalities.”

The episode begins with a be-moreing meditation. We continued this incredible, expansive conversation when I asked Jarmila to share her experience of the Coherent Field. It’s difficult to summarize, but in part Jarmila emphasized the need to remember our original genetic lineage. That it requires discernment, it requires being fully present, and it needs our own feedback and awareness of how our own brain and central nervous system functions, and where the interruptions come from. It is the intent everyday to exercise our “sovereign free will being-ness in accordance with Universal law and Mother Earth sentience.” It is the discovery of what it means to be you as a unique individuated creation. As Jarmila says, “That is your beautiful artistic opportunity and investigation to follow your call.”

Love in Action was at the core of our discussion for me. I know that Jarmila approaches healing through love in action and as she says; “Healing is a process of an energetic and spiritual alignment at all levels. You are always looked after by beloved Prime Creator. This planet is a sacred planet.”

This is a very special episode, an offering, a neo-ceremony through the kind of ongoing, infinite, cosmic conversation you have with heart friends. My beautiful guest is Sahala Larnyoh a woman with a powerful voice that can communicate many layers of frequencies. In addition to our conversation, (which I feel is a sound bath) you will hear an exclusive preview of Sahala’s new song with Altosounds mid-episode. AND, at the end of the episode we have co-created a musical poetry meditation, which is an invitation for you to deepen into more of yourself through sound and silence.

Sahala shares how she moved through what she calls the “chaos” of her lineage and began an independent path. Her journey, her bravery and her authentic heart are powerful and inspirational reminders for us all. Sahala tells a story of her youth, one where summoned the courage to stand up before an audience for the first time. She says, “the spotlight hit, I sang …that powerful song at that age, that was the moment where an opportunity opened up for me.”

It’s an invitation to everyone listening to be part of the larger conversation where we remember how valuable we truly are. We are here to sing our beautiful note. Whether that is literal or a metaphor, each one of us is needed, each note is here to be sung. A remembering that each of us has gifts that only we have the keys to. The more you allow the truth of yourself to rise up, the more powerfully your note comes through.

In practical terms, it means letting go of self censoring. Letting go of doing what you think will help you fit in, to the detriment of your health, and well being. It means doing the work to inner-stand your own dreams and to begin to know and follow ever more of your true voice/self.

To sing your note actually begins in the silence. That’s here you begin to hear it, and begin the step by step practice following the sparks that light you up.

Enjoy this episode and singing your beautiful note, after all, it’s why you’re here.

It's coming up all over the place, shame as a tool to tell you who and what to be. Let’s explore what and how shame might be calling to us to resolve and heal in order for us and the planet to evolve right now.

We all know and have experienced shame. It is expressed on the emotional scale as the very lowest frequency, lower even than grief or fear.

This episode is an invitation to question your own experience and expression of programs and patterns of shame and why it’s now more important than ever to break the cycle of shame in ourselves. It’s an invitation to notice, and see through the programs and patterns that continue to perpetuate division on this Earth. I shared this anonymous quote; Don’t shame yourself into changing, instead love yourself into evolving. Let’s stop throwing the hot potato of shame to others and instead notice how we can alchemize shame that has been weaponized, particularly in light of current events. How can we begin to inner-stand where, when and how we navigate polarizing narratives and choose instead our highest action in each moment.

An Undoing of Shame

The words we speak

Are they a gentle song that floats to our beloveds ear

Soft and sweet as the petals of a rose

Or a cacophonous blast that destroys

Harsh and unyielding as a raging fire

We have been both, and we are neither

Shame has pulled us back and forth over those coals so the burn never heals

It’s time to remove the h Recognize the same You, me, us

Putting down the words we have weaponized, thrown at each other pretending they don’t cut us too

Now is the moment we set each other free

How do we navigate these times when many people, practices and teachings are being revealed to be less than authentic and actually doing harm. How do we come to a place of reverence and respect for the true way showers without giving our own power away.

First, we can choose to resolve judgement and resistance within ourselves. Noticing if we are dis-honouring ourselves, our own power, then perhaps expressing it as opposition to another person. Forgiving ourselves for misunderstanding the nature of past teachings which might have diminished us. We can choose to dismantle the hierarchy within ourselves, freeing us from a pyramid style scheme of spirituality which sees us at the bottom always striving to get somewhere.

Next, we can allow ourselves to truly witness each other, which leads to self reverence and respect, removing the programs that stand in our way. Then we can open our hearts to the many authentic and powerful teachers and mentors in our lives whose powerful light can heighten our own illumination. Witnessing the sacredness of all the beings embodying here now.

We become the sentinels, holding strong the gates of our own expression of love through our own source. Heralding the arrival of beauty, truth, love, freedom, joy and wonder we are ready to co-create here, now.

It seems fitting that this fall I begin a new season, officially season 6, as it feels like a new world, filled with powerful new beginnings.

After a long hiatus the podcast is back with a brand new episode—because NOW is the time to cast nothing but light. What does that mean for us to cast nothing but light? It is a choice to live, move and experience through the light of ourselves. We’re learning how.

In this way of operating we also cast no shadow. We create no division and harm and instead live from the knowing of who we truly are. We turn up the volume on our own connection to our own source. We turn down the volume of the cacophony of what is going on in the external world. We become clear about what service without shadow is for each of us.

Feeling the call to meet ourselves in our brilliant interior silence, we are tuning back into the truth felt deeply within our body core. We remember we know, our bodies know, we are here to birth life, to birth light.

~Love Songs to the Earth~

The time is now beloved

To use the power of your voice

To sing once again

Your sacred love songs to this Earth

WITH THIS EARTH

(art & poetry Christine Pensa)

(Fyi for those that love numerology; The number 6 is the embodiment of the heart. It represents unconditional love and the ability to support, nurture, and heal. It is a powerful force of compassion and empathy and its warm light is a beacon of hope. Its role is to use its heart and soul to be of service to others.)

An updated reprise of episode 150 outlining the continued importance of freeing yourself to be misunderstood as a powerful self love practice.

Being misunderstood is a primal wound many of us are experiencing in these times. Freeing ourselves to be misunderstood is part of the powerful and profound work we can do right now on our beautiful planet.

It’s time to stop plucking at the leaves of what isn’t working and get to the roots. Trusting the truth that comes from the core of our own purity is to release the patterns and programs of the need to be accepted and understood for who we are.

The invitation of this episode is to explore where you have limited your expression because you were feeding the real need to be cared for—by sacrificing the love and trust of your own self—and the purity of your personal instructions. Noticing now, where you learned, or were programmed to keep yourself small in order to be accepted. What did you do to fill that wound.

Sacred self care, self love, and trust is a powerful practice that begins with your own deep knowing of who you are and what you are meant to be NOW.

As my summer hiatus continues, I am bringing forward past episodes that present themselves for another listen. This one came through a number of synchronicities. As I explained in the new introduction, I found great value in re-listening to this one and was able to deepen into the message Dr. Brianne Grogan shared.

The original episode was titled; The Practical Magic of the Pelvic Floor with Dr. Brianne Grogan

The episode was not just about pelvic health, it was about how we can open our consciousness to include more of what we choose for our own bodies and our own health.

My powerful guest was Dr. Brianne Grogan who brings forward a treasure trove of wisdom for best practices for vital health and a life well lived—therefore, practical magic.

As Dr. Bri shared, the pelvic floor is the epicentre for so many of the body’s operations. We discussed bio-tensegrity a whole body approach. When one part of the body is compromised, the entire structure responds to balance out the problem. Many of us are still responding to the symptoms that might show up and not getting to the root of the issue. Learning more about the foundational aspect of the pelvic floor in particular brings us back into awareness first, and then control of our body’s vital health. That’s the practical. The magic comes in when we recognize that much of what we have accepted about our health and wellness may simply be an outdated belief system that is ready to be released. The invitation is to explore what beliefs you might be holding and what you have accepted as truth that might not be. Stepping into your own knowing and finding the right formula for yourself.

Dr. Bri has devoted herself to helping others understand their bodies through her incredible, accessible, information rich YouTube channel, Dr. Bri’s Vibrant Pelvic Health. She says that beginning with an awareness of the hidden anatomy of the pelvic floor (which most of us were not taught about) is key to understanding and trusting this part of our body and how it corresponds to our overall health. Many of the issues that result from pelvic floor dysfunction are very “common” but that doesn’t mean that they are okay or that we need to live with them. Gaining self awareness and understanding allows us to take the reigns back with confidence. We become adept at weaving the practical and the magical into the tapestry of our own embodiment.

As Bri says, It’s the challenges that change you and there are gifts in every challenge. I encourage every woman listening to go to Dr. Bri’s website to learn more, to visit her YouTube channel and in particular to watch the two videos she made on the basics of pelvic floor anatomy and health, and to tune into all parts of your own body to inner stand and choose the best for your own radiant health and joy-full living now!

This is in part a repeat episode from September 2021 (episode 139). The theme is our power to choose. It’s coming around again! It is ever more important to deepen into your knowing of what is true, because saying no can be a yes to more of you.

The original episode was inspired by you, the listeners, who call forward what wants to be heard, and by an instagram post on neutrality. The post came from Dr. Lori Earley and she said in her account @phoenixrising medicine, "Neutrality is not an option."

What are we choosing in this moment, at this pivotal time on the planet? When chaos and polarities are amplified, we can retreat from that cacophony because we do not want to be pulled in directions that would seem to pull us apart. We still FEEL it because we are part of the collective.

How can we discern what is right for us in this moment? How do we navigate the external? We choose.

We don't have to choose a side, but we are being called to choose who we are. To stand in our pure love presence. To say no to what we need to say no to, to say yes to what we need to say yes to—because to not choose is to give our tacit or implied consent to whatever, or whoever, has the loudest voice.

At the end of the episode host Christine Pensa shared a short tree meditation to help you discern through metaphor the truth of you and how to use visualization to move beyond the lower frequencies that are external to you.

This is a reprise of episode 154 recorded in May of 2022, and an invitation to revisit both the episode and your own growth over the last year.

I recorded a new introduction, and just like I did, it’s a call to observe where you can expand and deepen into more of who you are as we continue to create, and grow on the Earth in these powerful times.

(from the original episode) This month is another powerful one and it is more and more noticeable that things are changing and need to change in our world. There is a deep knowing of this in our own bodies, and yet, many of us are also experiencing a recurrence of things that feel like old patterns. It’s confusing. We know we are becoming more, and we are also experiencing physical ailments, heightened emotions and loss of a sense of “reality.”

How do we practically step into becoming more of the complete self? How can we allow ourselves to be remade into our true selves? Who are we without these looping patterns? Host Christine shares some practical ideas to move through these endings so we can step more fully into ourselves.

Choosing to begin a deeper relationship with the unlimited you. Choosing to embody you, here, now is a coming home to yourself and being in a state of deep love for who you really are. Dropping the attachments no matter how safe they feel—and being very gentle with yourself as you do so.

May you always choose what is perfect for the highest frequency you in each moment. May you trust yourself. May you learn to love yourself at ever deeper levels. May you inner stand more of yourself in the deep silence of who you are. May you allow yourself to change course and direction without shame, blame or guilt. May you be free.

With love, Christine

This episode was inspired by a well known aphorism, curiosity killed the cat, and is an exploration into how, why, and where our natural curiosity may have been suppressed. What does curiosity really mean and why would we damn up the river of information that flows to us and through us? Why would we choose to block that which helps us navigate the truth of our divinity?

Curiosity begets self mastery, because, we are the catalysts for our own change and evolution.

We have lived consciously and unconsciously in the “do as you are told” pattern and program. We have been encouraged to use the external/validated information even when it doesn’t feel right to us. Now is the time for us to move more strongly and powerfully into a “do as you KNOW” frequency.

Your natural curiosity helps you access your inner wisdom which flows abundantly from your own pure heart. When we honour our natural curiosity, we evolve from being the supplicants - forever looking outside of ourselves for answers - to the creators of our own reality and this world we are here for now.

Time to call back in your curiosity and weave the golden threads shining through the muck back into your life. So it is.

The new song (art & poetry Christine Pensa)

As I wake I ask my heart

Show me the beauty beyond the beauty I thought I knew

Let me step beyond fields of possibility I thought were mine

Let me have the courage to leave behind what I thought was true

Let me shed like tattered rags the beliefs and images I have worn in unknowing

So that my brilliance is all clothing that I need ~

This episode is a reflection on what we are stepping away from in this moment on the planet. How it is that we can surrender into the beauty beyond the beauty we thought we knew.

The invitation is to notice where the resistance in you is -- turning to meet that part and go beyond what you thought was the best of you.

It is so.

This engaging and heart opening episode features guest Laura Bolton and what she terms her “radical” decision to leave all social media. As we discovered in our discussion, it’s not just about social media, it’s about everything. Our conversation is an invitation to notice where and how we are participating in any kind of toxic pattern or relationship in our own lives.

Collectively we are stepping away from people, places, and things that are draining us like never before. We have begun to recognize the time to act is NOW. We are at a pivotal moment on this planet where we can choose to drop eons of programs and build something new from our true selves—without distraction, and distortion.

Laura shared some of the reasons behind her decision to leave social media, and the “utter relief” she felt afterward without the “tiniest piece of regret.” She said she feels lighter, calmer and has much more energy to focus on things that matter to her.

Many of us have found connection and comfort in social media particularly over the last few years. Although there were many good things that sprang from that (like feeling understood and less alone) Laura says she was finding the negative frequency and parasitic energies have become more and more prevalent on the platform. She became aware that, for her, social media platforms felt like “a digital slave system that profits from your time and attention.” We discussed how a relationship with anything outside of ourselves can be abusive or toxic when our own thoughts and behaviours become overly influenced. Laura maintains that if examined, most people would find that they do not have a liberated, healthy relationship with social media.

Laura finds asking questions to be a beautiful internal exploration. As she says, no one knows what is best for you, but you, and, it’s really important to self inquire. Here are a few questions that arose from this episode; What am I fearful of missing out on? Is my human need to have certainty limiting me? What is it I would choose for myself? Where/when/by who has my time and attention been hijacked or manipulated? How can I give this relationship/practice/habit up? How do I find my community if I’m not online?

After she made the decision to leave social media, Laura found there were many new opportunities that opened up because she was willing to let go of what wasn’t serving her. She shared some ideas for creating the awareness around whatever toxic situation we find ourselves in, and how to practically allow yourself to explore what is happening in your own life.

It’s possible to shift anything once we become aware and we build in the support we need. We have the power to choose who and what we surround ourselves with.

f a straight line is not the fastest route from A to B, what is your path to the wonder of you? What does that meandering path look like in this moment on the Earth?

This episode is an invitation to notice where you have been in reaction when you really want to be in true, aligned action in accordance with what your heart already knows is the path that’s best for you. That impulse is also in collaboration with others and what is being called forward by so many of us here now. Taking time to tune into what that pure love frequency feels like for you. Allowing the release of the harmful patterns and programs we have knowingly or unknowingly chosen in linear thinking. Breaking free to forge our own path from our connection to our true selves. No more cages around our hearts we all move toward what we always knew this world should be.

The poem;  Oh beloved

This love we are

A wellspring of joy

Alive with wonder

Gathering speed now

Anchoring here, now

From each being following the flow(ering) of their being

Coming together as our infinite purity

Nothing but love

Our true nature

Our Home

We chose this peace freedom beauty  for our Home

This episode is a deepening of an exploration of the walls between us that host Christine Pensa did in episode 127. It’s an invitation to notice where and how you have been creating metaphorical and real walls within yourself—to notice where you have been following paths and practices that are not truly who you are NOW.

We’ve been in warrior mode for some time now and it’s time to relearn and remember from where that polarity sprung—and to turn those warrior tools into the precision instruments they have been waiting to transform into.

You choose.

You are a sovereign love song sung to all of creation able to dissolve the walls that were erected on the vast fields of who we truly are.

By dissolving the polarity within us and between us we are tuning into our song sung together as one voice in alignment with Earth. This image of ONE voice is a call for all of us to dissolve the walls within ourselves and between our fellow divine humans. Connecting back to ourselves as free, sovereign beings of love. Connecting back to the purity and innocence of your original, organic self to come back into harmony with ourselves first—then singing this song of love as our infinite expression.

Knowing ourselves as love as beings here to do harm to none, we reunite with our true expression. Christine concluded the episode by sharing a beautiful poem written by Maria Sabina entitled, You Are the Medicine.

Opening into 2023 this first episode of the year was inspired by the phrase full of yourself. It was something I explored in a former episode and as we move into the new year, this is an invitation to deepen into the question, “If you’re not full of yourself, who else and what else are you full of?” How much of your true self you are full of and where can you find more you.

A beautiful way to find more you is to close your eyes and come into the silence of you. Breathe. Get out of your head and into your heart space. Then say out loud allowing your true self to fill in the blanks; My name is____, and I am full of myself. When I am full of myself I AM___.

As we continue to journey through this powerful time on the Earth, we re-visit our deepest layers and it can be challenging to find new footings. As I said in episode 135, we are finding our new footing in this moment, many of us are watering the new ground with our tears. The tears can be the emptying out of what is not us and stepping back into filling ourselves up with the truth of who we are and have always been beneath the clutter.

May we all continue to fill with more of our true divine presence in 2023. Much love, Christine

As the year draws to a close it is ever more important to consciously navigate your sacred self care. Being present is a powerful act that brings you and those around you into the higher frequency of who you truly are. Noticing what, who, where you are hitting the edges of you and are being pulled away from that centre. Choosing to stand in the light of you.

To close out the year, podcast host Christine Pensa shared one of her older poems that feels particularly relevant for this moment on the Earth.

~Divine Feminine Creatrix Story~

Mysteries and joys and stories you have yet to dance are here within you

Your Body Temple’s knowing is vaster than any ocean, and yet dear sister, you have chosen to dip just your tiny perfect toe in those flowing waters

Know, entering the cave of your own deep wisdom is your mastery to choose

That birthright, which you have been told is outside of you, is simply yours to claim

Everything is within you

Beloved sister Open to the fullness of you

Open to the vast ocean that is you

Choose, not to limit yourself by what you have been told by others, by the distorted mirrors, the projected images that were never you, by false stories of what is ready to drop from this reality

Choose your untamed nature, choose your unlimited self

Choose, dear sister, choose to embody your joy, your grace, your ease, your wisdom, your beauty, the magic of your power to imagine

The soup that holds all the knowing of this beautiful world is yours to drink, you have only to serve yourself a bowl from the Temple inside your Heart

A blanket of light woven from all the stars in all the galaxies is yours also, you have only to choose to weave the Cosmic Mother’s whispers into your dreamtime story

And, dear sister, the portals of your strong feet, your lower mouth are yours to be in union and communion with your Divine Mother, the Earth as you both choose to vibrate with greater and greater pure love

Choose, dear sister, to … be the embodiment of your own Temple

Choose to; Dance into the light of you Dive into the ocean of you Sing the stories of you Be in LOVE with YOU

So be it, SO IT IS ~ (poetry Christine Pensa)

Wishing all the listeners many heart opening be-moreings as we move into more of our brilliance in 2023.

At this moment on the planet, we are releasing so many outdated beliefs and structures. Food is one of the big ones, and very personal for so many women. In this episode, my guest, food freedom coach and holistic wellness expert Sloane Elizabeth and I are talking about food and unraveling many of the layers of the (pardon the pun) heaviness that has been entangled with our relationship to food.

In her work, Sloane combines the science of nutrition with spirituality, as a holistic journey into self love and embodiment. Sloane brilliantly shared, as women, particularly with food and our bodies, we have been manipulated to be smaller and therefore less powerful. In fact, she says, because our power is truly unlimited, there are so many systems and structures that are terrified of us. Stepping back into an alive relationship with ourselves opens us to remember more of that presence.

Sloane says, food, something that we interact with every day, something we put inside our bodies everyday is important because it becomes a part of our beautiful bodies. She shared that for her, food freedom, means something more than how it has traditionally been portrayed. She says that kind of freedom is empowering, intentional, intuitive, and a powerful key to unlocking our potential in all areas of our life.

We talked about the importance of being present to embodiment. If we are not “feeding” ourselves mindfully then something else can feed on us, whether that’s unresolved mental or emotional patterns, lineage or societal programs.

Sloane’s heart work is to get her clients to be “on the same team” as their bodies, so they can successfully re-calibrate and trust the wisdom of their bodies once again.

For new listeners to the Awakened Woman Self Care podcast, we explore the nature of sacred self care in these times. The focus of each episode, whether with a guest, or solo with host Christine Pensa, is an offering meant to assist you to thrive in harmony with your true human embodiment.

This episode is an exploration of yet another side of witnessing. Christine shares why it is so instrumental to our sacred self care and how the observation of it can become sacred medicine for our community. Christine also tells a story on herself when she overstepped and “helped” a frog that didn’t really need help, illustrating how detrimental not being able to create space (aka witness) to hear what the frog truly needed. Likewise, by becoming witness with compassion and gentleness to ourselves, we can hear what is truly needed in each moment, through each challenge—internal or external.

It is only after being a sacred, or embodied witness to ourselves that we can become witness to our loved ones, our friends and the greater community. As we become loving, compassionate, embodied presence, we release the desire to change, or fix, or stop things before we have a true knowing of what in the highest order for everyone. By taking full responsibility for ourselves first, we become the calm in the storm. We leave space without stepping all over our own sovereignty or anyone else’s.

At the conclusion of the episode, Christine walks listeners through a self witnessing practice.

This episode is a further exploration of the question now what (?) and our longing to inner-stand what is next for during this pivotal time on the planet. What if it’s time to step through what has been a comfort to discover the immensity of our cosmic expression on the Earth now. We know we are made for these times, but what if the way we have been going about it is ready to evolve alongside of us?What if we let ourselves recognize what isn’t working, what isn’t us and by that recognition we become the sacred witness to it’s leaving?

Where truth once tortured us
Now is the moment
to let it set us
Free

Stand together with the Earth
Beloved of who you are,
Pure love,
blanketing our planet

(art & poetry Christine Pensa)

This is an invitation to sit in the sacred space of you and witness yourself so you allow who truly are—because…

…We are here
We are legion
We are love

We are the wonder of these times

Coming together singing our songs in harmony with who we truly are.

Kaya Usher is my very special repeat guest in this episode. She’s a true pioneer and brilliant at sharing and showing others how to navigate the waters of these times.

Kaya’s story is an inspiring one, it is one that can uplift anyone who choses to open to their own infinite possibility. Her journey led her through hardships, which might have derailed many of us, but through all the challenges she held strong to her desire to know her true self more deeply. While being fully human, she models a way through the woods for all of us.

In this episode Kaya shares how after moving through her challenges there was a time of learning and training before she was ready to download The Simplicity Platform. The 8 Tenets, or pillars of that platform are the simple, yet very powerful core of her teaching. We talked about how this work is a frequency technology and why it is the perfect platform for these evolutionary times. She calls it, “A space of engagement, of literally surrendering back into our highest knowledge, back into our highest possibility. It is an action space where we need focus, discipline and trust to truly let go of what isn’t us.”

Kaya says frequency technology is an un-teaching that helps us recognize and release the constructs we have been carrying. In fact she says frequency technology, “…is the building blocks of all creation.” With this technology we are able to transcend the outdated models of the past. It is about becoming an organic human. Deeply connected to ourselves, allowing us to be whole.

Simply and powerfully, Kaya concludes, “This technology is simply here to show you once again all the tools available to you from the space you were created. It is magnificent and there is not one single person who cannot open up again to who they truly are.”

I trust your experience of this podcast will be one which brings the higher frequency of the true you more online than ever. Find out more about how you can experience this frequency technology through Kaya’s books, classes, community, activations and music at; https://thesimplicityplatform.com/

As we move into autumn, I'm revisiting the metaphor of the caterpillar and butterfly, diving into a deeper layer to explore how we humans have lived with the perspective of the caterpillar for enough time. We are in a moment where we know we are being called to shift from that field of limitation, and change into the butterflies we have always been.

This episode is an invitation to observe yourself with no self censoring, and feel what is, and also is not, truly calling you right now. Being honest with what is depleting you in the material world, either "stuff" or "habits." Doing an inventory (without getting into polarity with yourself) so you can let yourself lift up into the arms of the butterfly by hearing your own internal instruction.

You have done a brilliant job at existing and being a caterpillar, but now you can choose to embody the butterfly, to recognize that you are indeed a butterfly and always have been — and beloved you already know it’s time to fly.

When everything appears nice and pleasant and comfortable, it’s tough to walk away. As the boiling frog metaphor illustrates, we might not notice we are in trouble until it’s too late. At this moment on the Earth it is important to pay attention to who, what and where you might be giving away parts of yourself to by playing nice. Truly now is the time to stop pretending pleasantville is a good place to live. Valuing your own inner standing and knowing of what distortions are playing out very subtly in your life.

Deepen your superpower of noticing. As we step into the Solstice, what traditions and customs in general are chipping away at the solidity of you. Realigning yourself so no more wedges and cracks are created in the rock of you. The episode concludes with a creative visualization meditation to help you be more impeccable and heart centred in what you are choosing. As embodied pure love you are a sanctuary for others, without ever needing to give a chip of yourself away.

It’s time for many of us to say goodbye to fears of missing out, and false ideas of what we think should be. We have been conditioned to believe that we can miss out or be unsafe by not adhering to standards which originate entirely outside of our own truth. We then can miss the clear signals coming from our own heart home because we have not been embodying ourselves.

When we feel uncomfortable or sad or worried we might be missing out, instead of fixating on what is wrong, noticing what it is that you are really telling yourself. Move forward from the stickiness of the emotional trap and observing the gift it is pointing you toward. What if the grass is actually greener under your own feet? Bringing yourself back to the knowing that, yes, Dorothy, the power was always there inside you. You were already home. Time to click your heels and embody your pure presence of love.

By releasing fomo, and choosing to opt out of what isn’t you—you choose to embody more of what is you. It is from that place you become resplendent with the beautiful nectar that feeds true community. There is no efforting there, there is no fixing yourself or others. What remains is simply the joy of being more of your highest frequency expression embodied here on this beloved Earth.

This episode is not just about pelvic health, it’s about how we can open our consciousness to include more of what we choose for our own bodies and our own health.

Ever since I experienced a prolapse I knew I wanted to do a podcast episode that would weave the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical components of our human being-ness. My powerful guest is Dr.

Many of us are still responding to the symptoms that might show up and not getting to the root of the issue.

In this episode award winning author and spiritual teacher Carrie Triffet shares her gentle and powerfully heart opening experiences and relationship with nature as a path to self discovery. She says that the natural world is the easiest place to notice how miracles work. “Miracles are the nature of life itself and if we are not having constant miracles and constant joyful noticing of amazing things happening then there is something about our own societies and our own perceptions that we ought to be taking a closer look at.” Carrie says that though we don’t often believe it, we are powerful creators. Therefore, if we don’t believe in miracles, we then create a world where miracles do not happen. We explored how we can simply allow for them so the miracles just pop. She says part of it is meeting with and recognizing nature doesn’t live in the past or the future, but only in the presence of right now.

Nature delights in your delight and that sets the stage for miracles. Beginning with a simple greeting, acknowledgement of, or gratitude for the presence of a plant, or a sunset, or the song of a bird opens a conscious communication.

Carrie shared a beautiful story about her home. Under her stewardship, the land shifted from a kind of smothered wasteland to one “bursting with the unmistakable frequency of divine love.”

The invitation of this episode was to open into allowing for the possibility that you yourself are both a bringer, receiver and transmitter of miracles by getting as deeply in contact as possible with nature. Holding compassion for yourself as you learn through your mistakes.

This episode is not just a conversation about one thing—business, it is a joyful exploration of the evolution of our human expressions and what we are moving toward. Elaira Tickute is here to “heal and rebuild (the) business paradigm” and of course it’s not possible to separate ourselves from business because business is meant to be rooted in the “currency of care,” as Elaira calls it. She does this through her own business—Elaira Flow.

Elaira’s great joy about her mission to help others expand their capacity to receive all of life flows powerfully through this episode of the podcast.

We talked about some of the patterns we carry and how we can recognize those blocks in order to shift from the efforting of working hard to earn money to opening to allow ourselves to receive money. The currency of of care is about moving into authentic living as well as authentic business. Through this curren-sea the field of the heart opens and business evolves from being transactional to opening up new pathways of creative experimentation and exploration.

We explored how to move through the limitations of the old ways and begin conducting yourself and your business in sovereignty and authenticity. Elaira shares, when you are willing to step into being a more authentic version of yourself, growth occurs naturally. She says the journey of growth one of the most challenging, but most rewarding ones you can do for yourself and for your business.

Elaira has her own podcast called, Welcome Future, and in the rich episodes she explores in detail insights around freedom from fixed price valuing and hierarchical structure. In our episode we focused on flowing into more of yourself and the seed of creation that wants to be shared through you not just from your head, but from the fullness of you. It's a gently powerful heart opening episode regardless of whether you run a business or not.

Being misunderstood is a primal wound many of us are experiencing recently. Triggers abound in the world right now.

As we move beyond traditions and dogmas, our deep spontaneous knowing of what wants to express now comes forward. A healing soup that moves like a pulse through our physical bodies.

In contrast to what is happening in the external, it feels like joy, like power and like pure love. The invitation of this episode is to notice where and how you can notice and bring forward more of this sweet hummm rising in you. It doesn’t have to be anything mysterious or mystical, it has to be what works for you. Where can you find more of your own expansion every day? What is longing to be expressed through you right now?

This world needs more of your joy, your power and your love—and that is sacred self care too.

(Thank you to Martha, Erin and the listeners for inspiring this episode)

One of the poems I shared in this episode;
Love’s Hummm

Do you feel it dear sisters?

This hummm rising through the city scapes
Past the rubble
Skimming over fields and waters and sleepy rooftops

Our hummm is rising

It’s rising
the rich sweet nectar of knowing flooding our bodies,
truth nourishing our hearts

The Sun lit honey we make from our nectar
bringing healing to this world

Do you feel it?

Our hummmm is rising

Host Christine Pensa explores the feeling of being at your “wit’s end” and the implications that has for you and for all of us in this moment. Many of us are coming to the edge of the place of not knowing what to do. It can be perplexing and we can feel uneasy. What if we could allow ourselves to be in that place without fixing it? What if we could let this be the dismantling of what has been in order to experience ourselves—to be more of ourselves.

Noticing all the places where the modalities and practices that used to work for you, simply don’t.

This episode’s invitation is to explore the unlimitedness and the beauty of who you are in this moment. Then choosing, through the confusion you might be feeling, more of what you want to birth right now through the force of love that you already are. Discerning the false voices that tell you you are at your wit’s end, and moving into your true voice and the song of—you being more of you.

Host Christine Pensa explores the often taboo subject of anger and how women express and mostly repress it because it is "not nice."

This is an episode of self exploration and questioning. How can you recognize and release the patterns behind the negative emotions. What is the message these emotions are pointing you toward and how can you alchemize them into creating what you actually desire in this world.

We are here on this planet now longing to express more of ourselves, knowing we are conduits of pure love embodied.

What if we chose to use anger and other so called negative emotions for the creation of something divine for ourselves and for the elevation and expansion of the planet?

The divine Kahu Lahela was the perfect guest to begin the new year of 2022 and as the first episode of Season Four. It is a powerful, and an empowering episode. As Lahela explained, she considers herself a Kahu of balance, as a bridge between the light and the dark and a bridge to Source. For her it means being a keeper of harmony, balance and inner peace to help and remind people who they truly, authentically are—and that is indeed a divine way to step into this powerful year of change.

This is an episode that is an experience of your own sovereignty and of your own magnificence. Kahu Lahela’s wise presence is so helpful to practically lead us through how we can step into both our sovereignty and responsibility at this pivotal time on the planet. During this ease and grace-filled conversation, she shared beautiful metaphors, and simple practices to help guide listeners through the challenges stepping into more of ourselves presents, as well as some of the great joys that can unfold as a result of us taking “the driver’s seat” in our lives.

We shared our mutual excitement over the expanding and unlimited possibilities opening up this year and how we are all being called to co-create with those higher frequencies. One of the sacred self care keys is being gentle with and observing yourself. The “line of integrity” is how Lahela explains David Hawkins levels of consciousness model. Noticing where your frequency is at all times and shifting your vibration to the highest possible to counterbalance the lowest frequency of shame and guilt. Asking questions so that grace can show up as your guiding light.

The podcast conversations over the past year have felt more and more heart expanding. This one was no exception. Together with you the listener, we are weaving more and more magic back into material form. This guest is one I know you will want to experience to begin 2022 with ideas and inspiration that can serve your highest unfolding. I invite you to tune in for the gems Kahu Lahela shares freely and joyfully, and especially to hear the heart opening Ole (Hawaiian chant) she sung at the end of the episode. The Ole she chose is a call to clear your path so you can navigate your way forward with love and trust. Aloha.

In this episode host Christine Pensa talks about how we have been conditioned to believe that we are a category or that we can only express as one thing—specialists. Like the monoculture that dominates our food and entertainment industries, the specialist or the “one way of doing things” method is breaking down and is ready to be replaced. In fact, what we are seeing unfolding in the collective is actually the dismantling of what has and is doing harm.

What is being created now, this new human permaculture is about embodying all aspects of ourselves. As the potter and poet MC Richards famously said, “We are both gravity and levity, that’s the genius of the human being…we are both and we shouldn’t be talked out of it.”

The invitation of these times is to remember and fully inhabit the fullness of you. As you inhabit more of your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies—filling the space with your I am presence—the patterns and programs of the monoculture release. You embody diversity in union with nature. You release the need to over consume and the fear associated with survival. The creator that you are is able to fully inhabit every single centimetre and cell of your divine embodied expression. We take back the beauty of the human body and embrace the wholeness of our divine expression.

This beautiful episode and conversation began with Heidi’s sharing her knowing that the time to “break free into our aliveness” is now. As Heidi says, the time for sitting on the fence is over. She says, “It’s now a desperate call. We need people to Be their shining lights.” The planet, the cosmos needs us all to be our shining lights. Our job is to let go of the shore and move into the river of our own true being and let it take us to the destination of our original truth.

Heidi shared some powerful stories of how we can tune into our own aliveness. She has been observing in her work with people how things are moving faster and how the deeper layers of the challenges we have had are coming up more insistently—in order for us to choose change.
She says that indigenous teachers helped her recognize how Nature understands its own aliveness, and that nature’s example can help us tune into our Original Truth. She used the example of a pebble on a mountain. That pebble might be moved from the mountain, picked up by someone and taken to another country, but it always recognizes that it is the mountain. It does not lose its original truth as we humans have.

The natural world always knows how to be its best version of its original truth and the invitation is for us to be the best version of ourselves. Heidi outlined simple and practical ways we can tune into this for ourselves. As she says, she likes to make things easy. Heidi’s book, Answering the Call of Your Spirit, How to wake up and remember the light of your soul, is an incredible book of self discovery. The book contains 22 self discovery moments punctuated with inspiring, uplifting stories and deep insights.

There are many conversational gems in this episode, which closed with an exploration of ourselves as dreamers. Why deepening our capacity as dreamers is so important right now. Heidi says she invites her clients to begin their work together by asking, What do you want the end result to be? She then asks them to dream the unlimited, impossible and playful dream of their answer. She says, let’s be the wisdom of children, by dreaming ourselves into being and creating a trail that pulls others toward their own expansive dreams.

Podcast host Christine recorded this episode after a short and deeply nourishing personal retreat where she was able to tune into her own natural flow of pure love. A big piece of her journey was the knowing she wanted to physically connect with people in her community who she had only known online. These connections planted the seeds for the unfolding of the new human permaculture image which revealed more of itself on the drive home.

On the return journey Christine was lit up while listening to a podcast on permaculture (see episode link below). As the modern philosophy of permaculture states, it is a working with, rather than against, nature.

The metaphor of permaculture opened into a heart knowing that we are also in this moment on the Earth coming together to create the New Human Permaculture. The joyful and natural exchange of being with no obligation, no hierarchy and complete freedom to expand into more of what our source connected personal instructions call forward. That kind of human permaculture exchange where naturally each human opens into more and more of their own expression, while supporting and activating the whole.

Tune into this episode to connect into what and how you can tend your sacred self care by observing what wants to be cultivated within you right now.

My guest this week is Ashmi Pathela the creatrix, author and artist behind the book, Awakening the Heart of Humanity. She calls it, “a journey into remembering who you are and why you’re here.”

After a depleting career in silicon valley, Ashmi trusted the inner prompt to travel, to write, and paint again as she had in her childlike purity. Trusting the prompts of her heart, she continued to build her intuitive muscles, which led her away from striving and toward the flow of the language of her soul.

Ashmi found that as she became more true to herself creation naturally came through. She invites us to tune into what wants to flow through each of us by learning to deprogram what is keeping us in limitation. She says; “You know you are walking toward it just by sitting in the discomfort.”

We talked about what is birthing on this planet and how we can be the calm in the storm as things escalate by trusting the true voice of our heart. That voice will lead us to right action or non-action as we unravel our own programming and shadows to allow the new growth to begin. Ashmi says that from that place we can also trust that our loved ones are also warriors of light even if they take a path different from our own. Trusting, without division, that they are on a path that will serve their own evolution best. As she says; “If you trusted the divinity of it all, you would not be afraid.”

There were so many gems in this powerful episode. We closed with Ashmi sharing how to begin to recognize and release victim-hood—moving through empowerment—into powerfully living in joy knowing we are always safe. She says, “Empowerment is a frequency you can tune into and choose.”

Christine's guest in this episode of the podcast was Kate Joyner the creatrix of The Dancing Serpent Mystery School. The conversation opened by diving right into the alchemical art of self healing. Kate says the journey begins with knowing ourselves. To be able to truly know how we work and then beginning to operate more from the wholeness of ourselves and less from our fragmented selves.

Kate calls this tuning in, "the largest love affair we can conjure in our lifetime." She says, that place is the place of wholeness, our true inheritance, our healthy body vibrating with the frequencies of Earth. It is from that place we move into a relational embodied alchemical healing of the wounds and conditioning which are not part of our original human design. Kate's work has been to assist others to move into the place of their original design, or wholeness, into the alchemy of shedding the layers and letting go as we all step into the new story.

The conversation flowed into how ancient alchemy is a remembrance woven into our individuated embodied souls in this now moment—how we can recognize what we don’t need to bring forward—as well as, what our soul is calling in to create the new. Kate feels the ancient piece is the way the soul resonates within us. When we come to inhabit the Earth design we are naturally in service to this world, as she says, because in that place we will know our soul and know our true belonging.

Kate shared her own knowing that the erotic impulse is one way that Earth vibrates through us to get our attention, and it does that so that we can come into relationship with our soul. She says, following the threads of our longing is a path that leads us to the revelation of our soul. Through the natural frequencies, each one of us has a unique and joyful journey to uncover what it is our own longing is pointing us toward.

Kate created the Dancing Serpent in part to create a temple space for women to become their poetry. She says, when we become our poetry, we become our soul and free ourselves to become the deepest expression of our power to love and create.

This gorgeous episode closed with Kate reading a powerful poem she wrote called—Go Transmit My Frequency.

This episode was inspired by Tree and how trees are modelling perfectly the beauty, ease and grace of nature’s cycles. The cyclical nature of a tree shows us that letting go is not a loss, but rather a transmutation into the next level, the next evolution of what will blossom for humanity.

Christine invited listeners to tune into their own capacity to stand strongly rooted in their own source connection, to let go like the autumn trees with a knowing and appreciation that falling leaves are compost for future growth. Learning from the trees about deep presence and how to drop in ever more deeply into your own source.

The lyrics to an old and beautifully simple song personifies what it is to be standing strong in our own presence right now. (The song was originally performed and written by Betsy Rose music.) The lyrics are;

Standing like a tree
with my roots dug down
my branches wide and open
come down the rain
come down the sun
come down root
to the heart that is open
to be standing like a tree
with my roots dug down…

This episode (as always) was inspired by the listeners who call forward what wants to be heard, and by an instagram post on neutrality.

Christine shared her poem called, I Choose Untamed and a short visualization to help you discern what is the truth of you and how to move beyond the lower frequencies that are external to you.

Christine’s guest is Gabriela Gutierrez, an independent scholar and practitioner of oracular arts and shamanism. The episode opened with a discussion about opening to joy/ecstasis even in the face of those most traumatic events that we are currently living. The definition of ecstasis is; “A magic state where your consciousness reaches another plane and creativity flows unimpeded.” Can we hold the place of the witness in the face of all the grief, fear and doubt and be with all that is unfolding, and—hold the joy.

We explored how our moment to moment choices can allow us to notice and dismantle some of the consumption based model that has not brought us joy and the true expression of ourselves.

Gabriela shared a powerful story of ancient wisdom through her recent experience of touring the prehistoric caves in Cantabria in Northern Spain, and how that experience can illuminate this moment, our relationship to Earth, and our relationship to our own bodies. She asks, if the Earth is the body and the body is the Earth and we are indeed made of stars and roses, then why is it we are causing her/us so much harm? How can we come into more harmony and communion with this Earth—being in our bodies, of and with the Earth again? How do we reclaim the organic idea of lover and eros and feel our feet on the Earth as part of everything?

We explored how to tune into your right action in each moment from a place of sovereignty and empowerment—moving in the direction of love to make the impossible possible. Gabriela says the body is the map and it will show us how to loosen and soften—expanding or flowering into the direction that is right for us, while allowing ourselves to evolve beyond what we think we are.

For Gabriela, the evolution of her work unfolded just before the lockdowns hit when she heard the words, “the virtual temple,” as she walked through the Alhambra (a sacred site in Spain). That became the platform for her passion to bring forward a revival of ancient wisdom and spiritual practice that is accessible to more people than it would be as an in person experience. She was able to create an all new kind of community, which is what we are all being called to create in this moment.

We closed by talking about dreaming and the impossible/possible as a means of dreaming our world into healing. Gabriela says we can choose to perceive dreaming as the landscape that can inform our life whether we are awake or asleep—and all we need to do is set the intention to enter into relationship with it so the impossible becomes possible—bee with that.

For many of us how the new consciousness is coming in is not what we “thought” it would look like, and yet it is exactly what we KNEW it would be. Because everything we thought was part of the lies, everything we (heart) knew is part of the truth.

Each day we can choose to release more of what was never us. You are the being in charge. Turning inward, tuning back into the truth of ourselves.

How do we practically move through this moment? How can we choose differently—staying in the body, staying present to our pure love presence, and choosing people, places and businesses that reflect our vision for the positive future of this Earth.

This episode is an exploration of the nature of healing and what is changing and evolving for us as humans in this now moment as we consider opening to more of our own self healing capabilities.

Exploring the beliefs we may have stemming from the common thought program that says if things don’t run smoothly, you have done something wrong. Noticing what beliefs we are still carrying that are feeding an outdated system through the metaphor of a parasite. We don’t take on the identity of the parasite, assuming it is us, and likewise, we don’t need to hold onto all that is collectively cleansing. We just need to allow it to happen and take excellent care of ourselves as it falls away.

We have all experienced learning exploring the limits of the human expression—now is the moment to be the embodied limitlessness of our true selves. In this episode, Christine invites you to notice how can you begin to tune into your self healing. What practices are not really serving you any longer? How can you move through what is coming up with more grace? Where (to paraphrase Andrew Bartzis) can you allow healing to be a process and not an event? How can you free yourself from the lie that you have done something wrong if things don’t go smoothly?

To begin we can move away from what was never us those things that influenced and confused us—and back into our nature, back into the truth of ourselves. Utilizing your superpower of choice as you decide how you best move through this now moment as a beautiful human being.

Inspired by the phrase full of yourself, this episode explores the question, “If you’re not full of yourself, who else and what else are you full of?” This episode is an invitation to explore how much self you are full of, and what are you ready to release that is not you?

We are journeying through some terrain that may be unfamiliar, and as we are finding our new footing in this moment, many of us are watering the new ground with our tears.

The tears can be the emptying out of what is not us and stepping back into filling ourselves up with the truth of who we are and have always been beneath the clutter.

It’s an invitation to expand into more of yourself through the lens of adventure and wonder. An invitation to allow any tears shed to water the ground of you.

Fill yourself with more of you—because who else would you rather be full of?

Embodying our true selves. At this moment we are releasing, or turning on their heads, the old stories and narratives that have kept us sleeping. In this episode, podcast host Christine Pensa invites listeners to flip the story of Sleeping Beauty on its head, to re-imagine that the “prince” is actually your soul tenderly waking you up to embody more of your true frequency in this now moment.

Why not welcome in the kiss that brings you more powerfully into knowing your true self. In this episode host Christine Pensa focused on wholeness from the perspective of the new human—how the story of an organic olive opened her heart up to a deeper understanding of wholeness—and, how that simple organic olive can help us to understand our own deep capacity for self healing.

The journey of this moment is all about us becoming more whole, shifting our current experience to reflect wholeness, rather than fragmentation. Reflecting on the beauty of Alberto Villoldo’s term “Homo Luminous” and this moment we are in where we are indeed in the cocoon of becoming the "new species of human giving birth to itself from a new luminous matrix."

In this pivotal time on Earth we are called to embody our wholeness—be in mastery of the self—connecting to both our quantum/Source self, and our human body connection to the vibrant organic life on this Earth.

In reclaiming our wholeness, it is a powerful act of self healing to clarify our channel, to connect to the wisdom of our own Gut Brain, through the knowing of a vibrant gut microbiome. We then naturally call in the medicine we need and to move through the challenges before us—understanding each stressor may be a gift helping us to become stronger as we move into “dreaming our new dream into being” for all beings on Earth.

In this episode podcast host Christine Pensa shares how tuning into your pure note is a powerful way to reconnect with your creator truth. Allowing the expression of all we truly are here to express—moving through in this powerful month of May 2021. How can we stand strong in our own inner space, while seeing the distortion of the world around us?

Using sound through the physical body is a powerful act of self expression. The invitation is to notice how you are using sound in your own life—experimenting with how it can support your sacred self care—while also noticing where it might be depleting you. Where can you allow more of the symphony of pleasure of your pure note to move more freely through you? Your own body is a powerful tool that helps you align with your true sound and vibration when you tune inward.

This moment on the Earth is a call to reweave our new harmonious song into the material world through our own bodies—and being that harmonious note by first tuning into our own self love. The invitation is to stop tuning into every outside narrative and ignoring the song your soul is here to sing.

In this episode, host Christine Pensa’s guest was the creator of the Perspective Talks, Maggie Savage. Maggie said the talks were borne out of her feeling of sadness that people were so divided. She said, “I felt we just didn’t understand each other.” Maggie interviewed a diverse group of people, from a variety of backgrounds and professions. She shared the evolution of the perspective series and how she was able to immediately slip into neutrality with each person to really hear their diverse perspectives. Maggie committed to practicing neutrality even when the people she was interviewing held opinions that were in contrast to her own.

Maggie says she is a born teacher so learning and sharing with others is natural for her. She approached the talks as an opportunity to learn what was behind the opinions—because if opinion is only a competition—then everyone loses. As Maggie was able to open to witness each person, she found that underneath the perspectives and opinions are life experiences and stories that are heart opening and always ultimately beautiful.

This episode is an invitation to open up to how we might rise above our own judgements and polarity—in order to come together and truly learn about each other through the eyes of compassion. Doing so, in effect Maggie says, “builds up an arsenal of perspectives to help better shape our own.” Honouring and looking beyond what is being said on the surface in order to understand what is really going on.

This episode is an invitation to shift your perspective, or flip on its head, needing to fix ourselves from a place of depletion. It’s an invitation to become even more aware of what we are creating in each moment— to open our perspective—to inner-stand more of our own body temple from a power place of knowing we are our own genetic engineers.

It’s an invitation to open up to what beauty, or song wants to be sung through us in each moment, knowing we are fully worthy Creator Beings who are here to express. It's a reminder to trust the guidance system that we have within ourselves to create our own bespoke daily spiritual hygiene practice. Allowing our inner knowing to guide us to the resources that deeply support and nurture us, our sacred self care, and self love.

As Creators, we can look outside of ourselves for inspiration, while not giving away any of our powerful awakening experience to anyone else. We can create it in each moment, as we co-create the highest frequency container for the new consciousness.

Podcast host Christine Pensa will be leading a simple ceremony event offering May 20th, Mandala, Planting Seeds of Light. Click the link to find out more and to register https://www.artthatmoves.ca/work-with-me/

Each episode of the Awakened Woman Self Care podcast is an exploration of sacred self care in these changing times. Sacred self care is all about creating a life you do not need to be distracted from. A life that elevates existence to thriving in harmony with your true divine human embodiment.

This week host Christine Pensa explores the patterns and programs of the hierarchical structures in our world. She shares the higher frequency perspective she is exploring, which is, that there is no hierarchy to truly Be-ing Human. It’s an exploration into the ways we have given parts of ourselves away to conform to hierarchical structures, and how hierarchy is an opponent to peace. It’s an invitation to deepen into our own knowing, and release the ways we have been trying to make sense of systems that do no serve us in the new consciousness. It’s an invitation to choose inner-standing and coming home to our true selves—creator beings here to embody loving compassion.

The poem Christine shared at the end of the episode is called, New Song.

New song
Beloveds, now is the moment
The songs of sorrow and division are done
Warrior marches shouting down “the other” no longer need to weave through our streets
We do not choose that deceit
Because we have chosen a new song
Now is the moment
We step forward
As a new song rises from each beloveds pure heart
Though each expression carries a different melody—each wraps around “the others” without dissonance
The new tapestry of song—alive with creativity and joy
Now is the moment
For each note rising from each throat to be sung from a pure heart knowing
We have chosen to stand in harmony with this beautiful planet
with every free organic being embodied here now
Let that music play
(poem by Christine Pensa)

My guest in this episode is the divine Clare Kenty, a pioneer who has developed a teaching called, Reiki for the Times, Not Your Average Class. We talk about how everything is evolving and how her Reiki offering is really meant as a “bridge into where we are going.” As Clare says, we are not just talking about Reiki, it’s really about the—yes, and…

Her joy around the teachings of Reiki began when she felt she “knew” the work during the first class she attended. The way Clare teaches Reiki now is to offer a non-hierarchical, de-colonized space for each individual “student” to understand and explore the energy. She shares that the phrase, for the times, is really about asking—how can we honour the genesis of this “beautiful modality” and work with it side by side allowing it to blossom into whatever its evolution is going to be?

Our conversation unfolded and we explored our current evolution as humanity. Clare shared her perspective on straddling her being in a beautiful human vessel and the expansive all-ness we are—and the challenges of hovering between that and this very oppressive system that hooks into us. It’s an invitation to look at how we have been doing things, and as Clare says, begin to “question everything” and open ourselves up to choosing a different narrative. In particular, an invitation to question the ways we have agreed to devalue ourselves.

If there is no wrong, how do we release old scripts—or, as Clare says—how can we unsubscribe from the narratives that have been part of our human learning experience. How to let go of what we are ready to move beyond, because we are at a point now where we are longing the joy of co-creating and bringing into the material world our next evolution—knowing all paths are leading us to Source.

In this human journey, all perspectives are valuable, worthy and needed. As Clare shared, “The system was not designed for liberation. We’re going to have to liberate ourselves…so how about we take back our choice and choose differently.” From my perspective, I think that is how the world evolves into a heaven on earth.

This episode is an invitation to deepen into our sacred self care during this powerful, heart opening, challenging and triggering time on the planet—by dissolving the polarity within us and between us.

Christine recorded this directly after participating in a Gaia group meditation. Her friend Jarmila, who leads the meditations, opened the silent meditation by sharing she was hearing Earth, Terra and Gaia singing together as one voice. A powerful frequency for all of us to tune into.

This image and metaphor of ONE voice is a call for all of us to dissolve the walls within ourselves and between our fellow divine humans.

You can link to full written text of the poem on our show page. You can also link there to the guided meditation Christine created to help you dissolve the walls within yourself.

In this episode writer, mystic and animist Meghan Genge joins host Christine Pensa for a gently powerful conversation on opening to more magic in your life, and how that is in itself an act of sacred self care.

Meghan shared how there was a moment when she decided, she chose, to invite magic into her life. As she says; “Our power – and possibly the greatest power in the universe – is in our imagination; in our authentic expression.” Meghan’s journey and also her joy and expansion has lately been in her daily writing practice, which at the time of our taping was at well over 1000 days. She says she has embraced showing up as a daily practice, no matter what. Meghan says she feels that sometimes self care has been misrepresented as “letting yourself off—when sometimes self care is making yourself do.”

The practice doesn’t matter, it is about the deeper call. The conversation opened into some beautiful questions. Where do you find your magic? How do you open to that in your own life? How are you showing up for yourself? How can you move into yourself to find the doorways to the magic? Meghan shared some of her own experiences and how she has spiritually aligned herself to step into more of the magic in her own life. As she brilliantly said; “The more we approach it, the more it approaches you back.”

In this episode host Christine Pensa invites you to remember the original divine spark of your creator frequency. In particular, your childlike innocent creator being-ness. She shares some ideas to help you amplify your innate and infinite expression as “Creator” from a place of pure presence, especially through the connection of your own personal flow(er) of life.

The episode uses creative visualization and a consideration of the 8 elements of design—(Contrast, Unity, Balance, Proportion, Harmony, Repetition, Rhythm, Emphasis)—to help you tap back into your joyful frequency. Remembering a time when you did not censor yourself, perhaps your own childhood when you automatically knew how to be present in the now.

Put music on and every child knows how to dance, or sing. Put a box of crayons or chalk in front of a child and they know exactly what to do with them. What if you allowed yourself to journey through and release all those places of limitation—giving yourself permission to play—to be unlimited—to dissolve the illusory walls that made you think you were disconnected from your pure heart.

As part of my own shamanic training and exploration I was introduced to the concept of the Four Shamanic Questions*. The idea was that when a person came to a shaman seeking help for dis-ease or in despair, the shaman would pose four questions to bring the person back into ease. The Fourth question is; WHEN did you stop being comforted by the sweet territory of SILENCE? Expanding upon the question, the seeker was invited to explore where they had mistrusted or ignored the mystery of their own being. Where had they stopped being an explorer of their own glorious life?

This episode is an exploration of all four questions, but particularly focused on the “sweet territory of silence,” because I’ve heard so many people talking about silence this past week, I decided it was something worth diving into. In this episode you are invited to explore more deeply what silence means for you. What silence as territory means for you. Silence can be depleting, as we can sometimes use it as a means of escaping. Escape can be a needed respite, or escape can be a repetition of depleting patterns that bring us no illumination. Silence can also be a divine heart expanding territory where we can hear and answer a call from our true voice.

At the end of the episode I lead you through a divination scribble exercise to open you up to a little creative fun in your heart exploration so have a paper and pencil handy for this one. With love, Christine (artthatmoves.ca)

(I was first introduced to these questions through the work of Angeles Arrien)*

Episode 122, Whitney Freya, Unstoppable, embracing our capacity to expand our horizons Host Christine Pensa welcomed guest author and creative Whitney Freya to talk about our expanding human capacity to be unstoppable. The episode was taped on the day the paperback version of Whitney's new book, 30 Days to Unstoppable, Be the Dream Made Visible, launched. The book sprang from a channeled teaching. That teaching, Whitney shared; "Is a call for humanity to pick up a new way of being and caring for ourselves—because everything begins as energy first, then manifests as matter. Therefore, we can learn to care for ourselves, to create, to energetically imagine into what it is we want to experience in our lives, and matter has to follow that energy." Her book is a meditative tool to help you activate and embrace that capacity in your own life stream. The conversation turned to how to cultivate self trust in spite of our very human feelings of uncertainty that often rise up. As Whitney shared, when we honour the knowing that we intentionally chose to be physicalized on this planet in this moment, when we honour that we are infinite beings, we can open to receive as the union of physical and spiritual. We can become the portal through which life is created. From this power point springs innumerable creative solutions. Whitney explained how she got to the place where she could integrate both aspects of the self. "As I understood that I could live in a world based in energy, or a world based in matter that was the threshold for me and I realized everything is energy." She says, that realization helped her to understand who she was—opening an exciting new paradigm for her to rebuild herself and her life experience. After that self knowing dropped in, all her decisions became based on what was in alignment with what she wanted to expand. "I began to understand that if I kept my vibration high and came from that place—then everything was going to work out." Whitney on sacred self care: Taking care of yourself and being centered in yourself is the most powerful thing you can do to co-create heaven on Earth. When you take care of your wellness it expands out from your being and it will always expand outward all around you. https://awakenedwomanselfcare.com/

Episode 121, Of Caterpillars and Butterflies, In the chrysalis as we transform from producing to creating

This episode was inspired by the divine flow of this moment. As the guest originally scheduled cancelled, Christine moved with the flow and timing of honouring the guest’s sacred self care, and let go of even producing an episode this week, when a social media post from a beautiful being, Samantha Warren (her info and links in the show notes) caught her attention.

Samantha shared her own revelations about timing and honouring the flow that is our own deep knowing. The kind of knowing that comes from the heart space and is not in sync with the pace of the old world. Christine emphasized, we are not production beings, we are creator beings. As we shift into that new way we need as Samantha said, more time in the chrysalis to be, “…here in this present moment while my transformation completes itself.”

For Christine, the image of the caterpillar, cocoon, chrysalis and butterfly brought back the memory of a beautiful message she received in 2018 from Mother Ocean.

That message was;
Christine, first of all, the butterfly isn't better than the caterpillar. It's simply about timing and resonance. The caterpillar has a certain timing. She does all the things a caterpillar needs to do, with love, joy and reverence for all that is around her. Then there is a moment, when she begins to feel—first, in her body, then in her heart that it is uncomfortable to stay as she has been.

It is even more uncomfortable when she literally splits herself inside out to become the cocoon. Once she is within the darkness of the cocoon she begins to receive the codes* she needs—through the sacred vessel of her own body. Waiting in the darkness, she doesn't know yet what she is becoming, but she knows it will be a new way of being. This is what is happening all around you now. You on Earth are in a metaphorical cocoon. Your bodies know it, and your soul knows it. You are opening, if you choose, to become something brand new. Someone that needs to express at a completely different frequency than you have before. Someone who needs to spread your wings in a new way in this world—with more of who you already are—being brought into expression.

(*I found out later that these codes are actually called, "imaginal cells." These cells "resonate at a different frequency" than any of the original cells in the caterpillars body.)

The invitation of this episode is to allow yourself to tune into how you are moving through these transitions in this now moment. Asking yourself, how can I deepen into amplifying my own sacred self care.

We are on the cusp of Beltane, traditionally a time in the Northern Hemisphere that celebrated the midway point between winter and spring. At this powerful moment on our beautiful Earth, Beltane is an apt metaphor for our own transition into the new consciousness. As we move into the new, we are called to nurture ourselves with new practices and resources.

This episode is an invitation to consider which resources are no longer feeding your body and soul, but are actually depleting you. Host Christine Pensa leads you through a creative visualization to open to your own knowing of what new resources are in alignment with this now moment and what you are moving into. This is a time to support yourself with deep self love as you release everything that will not serve you in the new consciousness and choose three new resources to feed your evolution and birthing of the new humanity.

This week’s guest Sahala Larnyoh carries a deep wisdom and grace beyond her years. She is one of the pioneers of what might be called new consciousness music, and is stepping into sharing the gift of her true voice with the world. As she says, she wants to see everyone free and in their brilliance, and has chosen to come here in this lifetime to express through music, a gift she received through her ancestral lineage. Before her awakening Sahala says she had a “good voice” that deep down she knew wasn’t the best of her potential. After her awakening she understood that she has healing frequencies "riding on the back" of what she sings, even if she is just humming. Our conversation turned to how self love heals you. First, as you move into your joyful expression, then as your cup is full, you share. We talked about how stepping into the magnificence of self love and away from your limitations, is the note that opens the door to all these other tones to unfold. Sahala shared that all the patterns and programs she has been able to remove through frequency work (see Episode 117 with Kaya Usher) has helped her deepen into the power of her musical gifts. As she has become more aware of the truth of who she really is—she has been able to share that awareness through her music. Sahala says though she does sing about some of the heavier stuff, she says she spots it and releases it, finishing it so the energy of resolution is in the very beat of her song. In her latest video, Watermelon Girl, (link below) Sahala knew she wanted to bring in the healing frequencies of and purity of nature into the presentation. She shared that the new consciousness, always present in nature, has in a sense up-leveled the ability of music to express in new ways, and that energy has amplified and is available to everyone no matter what their profession. As Sahala said, this episode is an invitation to take the time to truly know yourself, moving slowly and surely into your heart space allowing yourself to relax in that space and open up to you. https://awakenedwomanselfcare.com/podcasts/

In this first episode of the new year, host Christine Pensa welcomed guest Dr. Sabina Singwell, PhD, writer, social scientist and creatrix of School of Bitchcraft, who works as an advocate for sanity and freedom around food. Bitchcraft is her shorthand for liberating your mind and your body from our sexist diet culture. Sabina shared how healing her relationship with food and her body ended up breaking her open to healing through self knowledge and acceptance. She says, “Exploring how you relate to food is actually a magnificent doorway to discovering core beliefs about your very life.” Sabina invites us to stop shooting the messenger—food—allowing ourselves to move into the things we might be resisting in that relationship. As she has found—that’s where our healing gold really lies. As the conversation unfolded we talked about how unpacking the stories and patterns behind our relationship with food can help us come back into greater self love and a return to body sovereignty. Sabina pointed out it’s time to drop the self care narratives that are really about a pursuit of “perfection” with a veneer of self care over it, and lovingly embrace true sacred self care. This episode is an invitation to reassess our relationship with our bodies, food and our sacred self care by allowing the focus and breakthrough to come from the inside. Moving into 2021 is our time to release the distorted lenses and, as Sabina calls it, the external chorus. That chorus doesn’t reflect the truth of our magnificence. Instead, the focus shifts inside to learn to recognize the true physical needs and joys of our bodies, rather than being driven by distorted beliefs and emotions of ourselves or others. In this way, Sabina invites us to practice “body neutrality” by surrendering to the “goodness of our own knowing” and our body’s own knowing, while honouring the body’s divine cues.

Touching in, this last episode before the end of the calendar year, focuses on a simple practice to assist you to move into more of who you are here to be.

The invitation from our true selves is to really ground ourselves onto the new consciousness and to release at the root what is not needed in our new garden. Using the metaphor of the taproot—a large dominant root from which many other roots grow. As shamanic practitioner Sandra Ingerman (Episode 64) says—we are Gardeners of Energy. We are the gardeners of our own beautiful body temples. Let's step into the new year/new consciousness ready to plant/create what we truly want.

The episode concludes with Christine sharing a meditation visualization to help you connect to what taproot you are ready to pull out for good, so you can tune back into your pure primary root system.

This week’s special guest is Kaya Usher. She works with frequency. In the beautiful conversation that unfolds in this episode, Kaya shares many incredible insights and valuable information, but most of all, she shared her pristine frequency.

As she says, everything in this world carries a certain frequency, and where we come from, that fractal or hummm of our creation is created of the “ultimate frequency” the truest frequency of all.

Kaya explained the fractal, or true frequency—that we are all made of—came down to experience life. Through lack of awareness we brought in heavier frequencies, and we wonder why our life isn’t running efficiently or “in the highest order.” Often its because these lower frequencies have come in and interrupted that beautiful hummm of our own creation.

Kaya works with her abilities to go directly to the top, to your creation space where she helps you by overriding lower frequencies that shouldn’t be in your space with the higher frequencies—returning you to your natural state.
The invitation in this episode is to open and allow yourself to have your own experience of frequencies. As Kaya says there is nothing solid about us, except for that spark which is where we come from, everything else is malleable. Therefore, there is nothing that cannot be shifted with this work when you are ready to step into who you truly are and begin the love affair with the spark that you are.

The episode concludes with Kaya sharing a powerful meditation, which will give you an experience of her work. I know you’ll want to find out more! You can connect to Kaya here; Here are some of the ways you can connect to Kaya’s work; https://kayausher.com/.

The third episode of the evolution of story series focuses on the importance of recognizing stories we have been running and calling out the ones that are simply not serving anymore—as archaic relics ready to go.

As we move into this powerful final month of the powerful year of 2020, the invitation is to align with more of our true creator expression. December is a month filled with energetic gateways that can change and upgrade us at a cellular level. One of the most efficient ways to choose to receive is to allow yourself to just BE. Meditation, time in nature, and stillness are loving allies to help you deepen into more of your own wisdom.

Host Christine Pensa shares an exercise to help you tune into your superpower of choosing. I choose is a superpower statement that can open you up to come into greater alignment and clarity with your own deep wisdom as you build your bridge to the new world.

Creating space for love, softness, and internal peace this month is a powerful act of sacred self care—as is continuing to choose to align with and call forth your highest realities in each now moment.

In part two continued from the theme of Episode 113, I share what continues to unfold around the idea of story, what we have been storing and what is ready to dissolve.

In this moment the external world is powerfully pulling us into survival mode. In this mode our creativity and imagination are shut down. We begin to believe and react from a perspective of limited options—two choices, or even one. Our creativity and imagination are powerful self healing tools—opening up to our truth as Creator Beings. As sovereign creator beings we open up to solutions from the field of Infinite Possibility.

It's more important than ever to SUPPORT YOURSELF with Sacred Self Care and True Self Love. These things are simple, powerful and free—silence, time in nature, breathwork, saying no, aka staying away from what depletes you.
In the Northern Hemisphere in particular we are beautifully supported by the season to deeply tune into the velvety darkness inside ourselves from which we can nurture the new story ready to be birthed for ourselves and for this beautiful world we have chosen to incarnate on now!

Remember the new consciousness is calling us to rewrite our outdated stories and remember we are the powerful creators who are stepping in to tell the victory stories of these times.

With gratitude,
Christine Pensa

Stories can open us up into the vastness of the cosmos & our connection to all that is—before books, and screens—there was the power of the land speaking to us. Stories can also become our prison. Sacred self care is about observing and releasing old stories that diminish you and opening into creating new ones to serve your soul's expansion.

The stories we are holding onto in our personal lives and in the collective are beginning to dissolve on their own, or be forcefully dismantled. How can we become more adept at identifying removing those that do not serve from our own space? Christine shares three ways stories can show up in our lives and how to move through practicing sacred self care.

This is an invitation to rewrite our outdated stories and remember we are the powerful creators who are stepping in to tell the victory stories of these times. https://awakenedwomanselfcare.com/podcasts/

Podcast co-hosts Christine Pensa and Emma Kupu Mitchell connect in this episode as their final collaboration as co-hosts. As Emma put so beautifully, this is not an ending, but a returning back to self and honouring the authenticity of life (and it’s natural cycles). In this episode we shared, through technical glitches and tears, how this parting is mirrored by nature. How there is grief and also great expansion in leaving something behind and opening up into the new. Emma brought in the metaphor of the pruning she is doing in her own life in order to allow the space for her new pathway to appear. Christine shared the metaphor of the original Wayshowers who tuned deeply into their divine knowing to travel thousands of miles across "uncharted" waters. Both roads leading to how we can take care of our sacred selves as we navigate this new world unfolding before our eyes. Christine will continue to explore the juicy topic of sacred self care and coming back into alignment with our own deep knowing of how to way show for ourselves. It is her intention to mirror back what listeners are looking for in each now moment.**

Podcast co-hosts Emma Kupu Mitchell and Christine Pensa bring in one of their favorite recurring guests, the divine Star Sister, aka Marcia Wade. Star Sister shares the cosmic potency of the year 2020 and her insights on how we are CREATING THE SEED OF A WHOLE NEW ERA IN HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS. As Star Sisters shares; “The truth is that there’s never been a more auspicious time to tune into the bigger vision and larger truth that’s arising now from your heart— a fractal of that greater, cosmic heart. Whatever you do this week, don’t let your heart shut down.” The dreams to which your heart is singing back are telling you they’re the ones you can deeply commit to, and persist in bringing into reality. And that means they’re the ones that can change your life in ways you can’t yet comprehend. And, as she says, "We cannot think too big or too long." She also shares how this Solstice in particular is a great and sacred cosmic shift. It's transformational energy this year is affecting us — we all feel the magnitude of the mystery — this year we’re feeling it to the max because at this year’s solstice there is a massive gathering of planets in Capricorn — which is occurring only for the 3rd time in a 1000 years. The wisdom of this episode is truly not to be missed if you are looking for how you can work with the cosmic energies to support you through these times of change. In this episode Jonita shared how her strict Catholic upbringing started her journey toward finding more of her true expression. When she landed in the west she was surprised to find that though the women were free, they were living in "an invisible cage." She says it wasn't always easy to carry the sacred torch for the feminine awakening, and shared some of her personal journey, which led her on a pilgrimage to Glastonbury where she dove into the sacred feminine darkness, the divine feminine re-emergence and the Magdalene. As Jonita shared that on this journey, she found there was something "stonger than magic, it's sisterhood." Jonita invites everyone she works with to find more passion and fulfillment in their everyday lives, using femininity and sensuality.** Here is a a free audio-guide for connecting with your womb on a daily basis. http://jonitadsouza.com/wombrevival , coupon code - LOVEREVOLUTION . Episode 083 A Beltane Celebration with co-hosts Emma Kupu Mitchell and Christine Pensa To mark this portal in the Wheel of the year, co-hosts of the podcast, Emma and Christine share some Beltane celebration ideas in this special episode. A Beltane Reading from the Charge of the Goddess (Starhawk, The Spiral Dance 1979) I who am the beauty of the green earth and the white moon among the stars and the mysteries of the waters, I call upon your soul to arise and come unto me. For I am the soul of nature that gives life to the universe. From me all things proceed and unto me they must return. Let my worship be in the heart that rejoices, for behold—all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals. Let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honour and humility, mirth and reverence within you. And you who seek to know me, know that your seeking and yearning will avail you not, unless you know the mystery; for if that which you seek, you find not within yourself, you will never fine it without. For behold, I have been with you from the beginning, and I am that which is attained at the end of desire. A favorite month for both co-hosts for many reasons. Emma shares the origins of Beltane and Lei Day, May 1 in Hawaii how it's been a tradition since 1928...... “May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii Nei.” This popular phrase in the islands prevents anyone from forgetting this special day. It was Don Blanding, a writer and poet, who first suggested that a holiday should be dedicated to the beautiful Hawaiian tradition of making and wearing lei. But it was Grace Tower Warren, also a writer, who came up with the idea that the holiday should coincide with May Day. Emma read from “Kindling the Celtic Spirit” where the Spiral Dance of the year is understanding sacred time Everywhere we look life moves in a spiral motion the early Celts knew this and danced all night festivals reflecting the earth Mysteries of blossom and leaf fall and the circling year. The early Celts divided their year into two halves dark and light Samhain and Beltane. Beltane ushered in the Light and the sun, originally these turning points of the year were not marked on a calendar but from careful observation of the stars sun moon wind weather and movements of animals and birds and the voice of the earth. Belenos (Beh-ley-noss) was a sun God who may have been connected with the festival of Beltaine meaning bright or brilliant .The Romans called him Apollo. Susan Nefzger began exploring self awareness in the early 1980's as a result of reading “Many Lives Many Masters,” by Brian Weiss, M.D. and attending his workshops. After moving to Atlanta as a member of the Georgia Lottery start-up team, Susan began a self-actualization quest which included studying many spiritual practices, a favorite guru being Self Realization Fellowship Founder, Paramahansa Yogananda. A veteran public relations professional over a highly substantive 30 year career, Susan traveled around the world seeking answers on her quest and received them in the form of the International Association of Conscious and Creative Writing and founder Julia McCutchen. This led to attending a retreat in Glastonbury, UK in May of 2015, where the words of this book flowed forth in a torrent of inspiration. Becoming aligned with a creative consciousness provided the impetus to write and complete this book, its companion workbook, “Putting Awareness Into Practice” and beginning a poetry blog, “Seeing Beyond the Ordinary” which is accompanied by her nature photography. Susan resides in Atlanta, Georgia, where she writes, reads, works and take photos of nature. In this episode, Susan shared her journey from dreaming about writing a book to making it a reality, when she listened to her inner awareness and the "nudge" to attend a workshop in Glastonbury, Uk. Through the channeled wisdom and guidance of Mary Magdalene Susan completed her book—A Practical Guide to Awareness. The story illustrates the practical guide—as through the doubts, fears, trials and persecution of the women who stay true to their purpose no matter what.During our podcast conversation Susan shares how to listen to the inner call and act upon it. The issue of "time" being an obstacle many women face as a barrier to achieving what they truly long for is addressed by Susan, and she outlined 5 easy steps to increasing self awareness as a form of sacred self care every day.

Episode 076 with Emma Kupu Mitchell and Christine Pensa, On Being Inspired, Ignited, and More Aligned On being inspired, ignited, and more aligned in our sacred self care. How our work has shifted as we have become more of who we are—in part—because of this joyful work we do together on the podcast. In a kind of Freaky Friday, Emma and Christine take turns being interviewed by each other to talk about the passion they both feel for the new ways they are showing up in the world, particularly through their sacred work and offerings. First up is Emma being interviewed by Christine. Emma is a Soul Essence Alignment Artist and has been a practitioner of holistic therapies for over 30 years, including clinical Aromatherapy, Ayurveda, Depth Numerology, Elemental Astrology, Yoga Nidra, and Sound Healing. Emma uses her extensive knowledge of ancient healing practices to create unique sound-infused sacred anointing oils and tinctures. She is one of the co-hosts of the Awakened Woman self care podcast. Emma shares why the soul is an integral part of her work because she is fascinated by the depths of who we are and what we are here to evolve into, and that’s why the soul essence is key to her work. She explains how her new Soul Essence Alignment Mandala (SEAM) work is the culmination of over 30 years experience, in alignment with the new energies moving through her. She shares how the Soul Essence Alignment is weaving in more of the Elemental Astrology, or Cosmic energies, into her Sound, Plant and Stone medicine work. She says this work feeds her own sacred self care because every person she comes into contact with is a mirror for her own journey, and she honours the sacredness of this work as a gift. Emma maintains, "My work is my play." Next up is Christine being interviewed by Emma. Christine Pensa is the face behind Art That Moves, where Ceremony is practiced as ART. Journeying with Christine is an invitation to make sacred your art of living through co-created daily ritual, bespoke ceremony, and creative practice—where she holds space for the masterpiece of you to thrive. In addition to being a visual artist, Christine is a trained Shamanic Practitioner, and Creative Way Shower who combines ancient practice with the sovereign creative voice that wants to be expressed through you. Christine is also the co-creator, and illustrator of the Soul Discovery Coloring Book published by Conari Press, as well as the co-host of the weekly podcast, Awakened Woman Self Care. Christine shares her journey from art making and teaching children and adults art and soul. She says it was time to leave behind her art production, even though she loved it, to do something she loves more—weaving her shamanic training with her joy of creating, particularly ceremony, which her guides invited her to embrace as a kind of "ceremony party planner." She shares that though many people think they don't have time to create sacred ceremony in their day, they can make simple moments sacred seamlessly and easily. She maintains the art of living with sacred intention means life is always filled with joy. Both Emma and Christine agree that Wednesdays are their favourite day and how meeting and interviewing the 75 women they have featured on the podcast has fed their sacred self care. Both are grateful for the wise women guests, and for the beautiful listeners who tune in every week. Both are grateful that this podcast seed they planted has grown into a beautiful flower—now that's sacred self care! Episode 075 with Adrienne Enns, Being intentional and why it's worth it We're excited to welcome back Adrienne Enns, who was one of our early guests on the podcast in late 2017. Adrienne is Chief Joy Curator at her company May You Know Joy Inc. Adrienne inspires and empowers people to live intentionally—by creating their lives on purpose. She does this through her workshops, retreats, speaking engagements, and, through her product line, which includes her beautiful May You Know Joy Meditation Cards, her Seeds of Intention Card Decks, and her beautiful journals. Adrienne explains that for her—Joy is wholeness, it’s embracing all that is and all that we are. She says, I know joy because I know pain and suffering and sadness. They are all part of this delicious, raw whole, allowing us to navigate the tough experiences because we know we will be stronger and wiser for having moved through. Her latest offering is the INTENTION SESSIONS. Adrienne has a Global Online Masterclass, as well as Live workshops in Toronto. She is offering our listeners a special discount on both the live and online classes. Adrienne shared how she came upon intention during a difficult self destructive period in her life."being intentional means you get to decide how you want to operate your life and align with that " not what others think you want. Adrienne shares that deciding what your time is worth is key, as we get to choose how we spend our time and how we show up. Living intentionally actually shifts time. When we are busy, we are not present and thats key to living with intention. Adrienne shares the 3 pillars of intention and how her new intentions series came into being. Visit her website for more information https://mayyouknowjoy.com

Olivia Bryant, the cervix as final frontier. We taped this episode late in 2018, and in what we think is divine timing, we're airing Olivia Bryant's divine wisdom on the cusp of valentines' day, or Venus day, as we prefer to call it. Olivia is founder of Self:Cervix, a leading edge movement in the field of female sexual empowerment. Within in a short time, Self:Cervix has attracted the attention of world media including Glamour Magazine, German mainstream news media and publicity in Australasia. Over 3000 women have been through the programme from 58 countries. As Olivia shares—the cervix is the least recognized part of female sexual anatomy. It endures the most trauma and it is has the most potential for orgasm. The orgasms produced via the cervix are often described as 'out of this world and transcendent' and yet most women do not have access to it because of lack of education, trauma and tension. Olivia created Self:Cervix to change the conversation around the cervix with the medical profession and educate women around the globe about the power and pleasure at the cervix. Previously, Olivia trained in Sexology and yoga. She has a background in the performing arts. This episode is in perfect timing with thoughts of love, and where better to begin than with the knowing of ourselves. In this episode Olivia shares the journey that led her to awaken to the gifts and the power of her own cervix, and her understanding that opening to these gifts can be part of sacred self care. She talks about the cervix's message, and how it is not just about the bedroom. She shares the joy of leading thousands of women on their own journeys of cervical awakening. Olivia says working with the cervix is fundamental to our homecoming. She also discusses the subject of Tantra and the misconceptions around this. In Eastern traditions the Cervix is related to the first chakra- our sense of belonging our bodies and on this earth - so Olivia asks the question if our cervix is numb (as so many are due to pain or emotions stored there) what is that doing to women psyche and our sense of purpose in the world? Olivia shares the purpose of self cervix and much more in this rich conversation ! Check out Olivia's NEW website and make sure you sign up for the step by step guide. Megan McFeely is the Director/Producer, of the award winning film, As She Is. Megan follows the inner path of Sufism and has been on a journey towards what is natural, essential and authentic for most of her life. The question, "Who are we as human beings from the inside of ourselves?" has been at the center of her inquiry. Megan spent more than 25 years providing strategic communications counsel for media and technology companies, authors and non-profit organizations. She has experience telling stories on all media platforms — Internet, broadcast, public and cable television, print and radio. The film As She Is, was first screened at the Library of Alexandria in Egypt to 200 women activists from 20 different nations, and it won best debut documentary at the Female Eye Film Festival in Toronto in 2016. Since then the film has been screened in more than 30 countries and is now available in French and soon in Arabic and other languages. The intention Megan set for this film was, “to help us remember that there is another way of being, knowing and relating that is equally important as our externally focused, drive oriented culture.” She shared this beautiful intention, “We want to inspire a re-connection with and respect for the feminine aspect of ourselves so we can bring much needed balance into the world. Each person will have their own journey to reclaim this inner relationship but I hope this film will touch a familiar place inside which knows the value of intuition and creative inspiration, respects our bodily knowing, remembers that we are connected to all of life, trusts the mystery and feels empowered to act from this place." Megan is now beginning work on new project about the POWER OF LOVE. You can stream or purchase a DVD of the film through her website, AsSheIs.org. In this episode, Megan shares the powerful story of her journey to reclaim the hidden parts of the Feminine, after spending years in the corporate world where the feminine wasn't part of the landscape. She talks about holding a container for herself to transform, and how for her, that was posing this question, "What is being asked of me?" She shares how that led to discomfort, and to deep healing work with the archetypes, or, "sitting in the fire of your own wounds," as the alchemy of transformation. Her healing practice, Wild Rose Earth Medicine Shop, is where Erin helps to facilitate reconnection for others who are seeking a reunion with their own birthright of natural wisdom. Utilizing her trusted ritualistic and shamanistic tools, Erin works in concert with the elements, the ancestors who come in a good way, and Spirit itself, to weave together a bundle of whatever medicine her clients most acutely need. Erin also teaches a variety of online courses, including her signature ritual moon gardening course, Garden Magick. Coming in early November 2018, Erin will be unveiling her newest companion courses, Kitchen, and House Magick. Listeners can enroll now, or get on the waiting list at gardenmagick.com In this episode Erin shares her insights on moving into the fall and winter season with intentional self care practice. She talks about the distinctions between ritual and ceremony, and her work as a Ceremonial Priestess. Erin shares the genesis of her website name "The Telling of the Bees" which is a traditional English custom in which bees would be told of important events in their keeper's lives such as births, deaths, marriages or departures and returns in the household—and how we can mark these transitions with co-created ceremonial practice For more information Visit Erin's website http://thetellingofthebees.com

In Episode 055 we welcome Justine Froelker and her open, witty style of sharing vulnerability and truth. Justine Froelker uses her fiery passion, the occasional curse word, and a sense of humor to share her vulnerability and truth to bring light to the world. Justine is an advocate for speaking about shame and learning to thrive when life doesn't turn out how you hoped, dreamed, or planned that it would. Her answer for thriving—honouring the invitation to become what she calls—butterfly soup— in order to be in a place of active acceptance. Justine is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator with over 19 years of experience, (based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown). Justine is a speaker, and Professional Network Marketer, who has given two TED x talks—The Donut Effect, and, The Permission of the "And." She is the author of two best-selling books, Ever Upward, and The Mother of Second Chances. Justine currently lives in Saint Louis with her husband, Chad, and their three dogs. She enjoys her child-fulllife by spending time with friends and family, practicing creative self-care, laughing (many times at herself) and building butterfly gardens on her acre of land, which has made her — what she terms — an accidental butterfly farmer. In this episode Justine shares her personal life story, which she no longer calls hard, to illustrate how we can all choose active acceptance when life hands us something we don't want. She shares part of her journey with infertility, and how that has led her to embrace a child-full life, while still honouring the grief she feels. We talk about the metaphor of the butterfly, butterfly soup, and overcoming the "messy middle" practice. Justine also shares some very useful tips from her 66 Day Self Care program (She's offering listeners 50% through link below!) In today's Special Summer Reflection Episode Christine and Emma talk about the first season of the show, and interviewing 45 divine women since September. They share their plans to take their own self care hiatus during the summer, and talk about what's been happening behind the scenes, in their own work and life. About the prose Christine read; What I shared was excerpted from the On Being blog from writer Omid Safi's piece called, Seeking Community Here and Now.

In it Safi says—"As is so often the case, I go back to ancient mystical texts for wisdom and inspiration. This time I went back to an old Persian text, called the Rose Garden. The 13th century, Sa‘di’s Rose garden, is the masterpiece of Persian prose. For some 700 years in India, Central Asia, Iran, and beyond, the humanism of Sa‘di has been a mark of erudition and cultured civilization. In the text, the great Persian poet Sa‘di talks about a person having gone to a public bath. There, someone brought that person a piece of clay from a beloved. The clay was ever so fragrant… like a rose.

The person begins a dialogue with the piece of clay. (Don’t freak out. In these genres of literature, people talk with inanimate objects all the time.)

Are you Musk? Or amber? Your scent is intoxicating! The clay answers back: I am just a humble piece of clay. But for a day or two I’ve kept the fellowship of roses.

It’s their companionship that has had an impact on me. Otherwise, I am just ordinary clay."
