Huge market selloff to begin the week as the Dow Jones dropped 843 points, or 3.1%. The S&P 500 lost 2.5% while the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.6%. Stock fell on worse than expected COVID-19 optimism and uncertainty on any new fiscal stimulus. Traders are eyeing key reversal pts in the markets
Crude oil prices take a beating, tumbling below $40, settling around $39.76 around 1:15 PM MST. Natural gas prices do the worst out of any today, losing over 10% with the front month trading around $1.83.

Volatile day for the overall equities markets today as major indices each fall over 1% with renewed stress on tech stocks, NASDQ down over 1.75%. Conflicting COVID-19 vaccine news amid stalled stimulus 2.0 also weighed on investors today. First-time claims for unemployment insurance totaled 860,000 in the week ending Sept.12, versus an estimate of 875,000, according to economists polled by Dow Jones.
Crude oil prices were supported by fallout from Hurricane Sally, finsing above $41 for the afternoon session. Natural Gas prices drop over 10% to around $2 off EIA show 89 BCF build in natural gas stocks.

Major indices flat with Dow Jones rising 0.5% off indication from the Federal Reserve that interest rates will stay at near zero levels for the foreseeable future. “With inflation running persistently below this longer run goal, the Committee will aim to achieve inflation moderately above 2 percent for some time so that inflation averages 2 percent over time,” the Federal Open Market Committee said in a statement.
Crude oil prices spike off the back of Hurricane Sally making landfall and DOE reporting that crude oil inventories drew just over 4 million BBL’s , with production jumping 900K with GOM restoring some leftover shut in production from Laura. Natural gas prices stumbled 4.5% pts off news of cooler weather and expected draws in natural gas inventories, due out tomorrow around 8:30 AM MST.

Choppy Tuesday in the markets today as huge gains are lost toward the end of the trading session. The S&P 500 gained 0.4% and the Nasdaq moved 1%. The DJIA fell, giving up an over 230-point gain and trading just below the open
Crude oil prices jump 2.75% off of nearly 25% of GOM shut in due to Hurricane Sally. Shell said Sept. 15 it shut in production at its Appomattox platform, while also curtailing oil volumes at its large Olympus, Mars and Ursa facilities. Chevron said it has shuttered production at its Blind Faith and Petronius platforms in the deepwater US Gulf.

HOT OF THE PRESSES – New week brings new optimism in the stock market as equities market as each major indices finishes green, with NASDAQ finishing up 1.75% off the back of TikTok (yes, TikTok) US Operations gets sold (?) to Oracle (HAHAHA) pending US regulators approval. Telsa gets a bump from Goldman Sachs with a report citing increasing Chinese demand and Nvidia is buying chipmaker Arm Holdings from Softbank for $40 billion.
On the crude oil side, crude oil prices finish flat around $37.19 late in the morning trading session, with the Gulf of Mexico prepping for a Tropical Storm that will shut in at least one Philips 66 refinery. Natural gas prices rise off cooling temperatures and seasonal draws coming in. OAG360 expects a draw of natural gas stocks around 35 BCF on Thursday.
