Ian has remixed music for legends such as Roachford, System F, Bimbo Jones, Jon Fitz, Moonbeam and Jay Robinson and has been supported by DJs such as Roger Sanchez, Kissy Sell Out, Stonebridge, Armin Van Buuren et al. Here is his story…
Ian Round is a music producer, remix artist, DJ and educator with over 20 years of experience. Starting his career at the age of 16 DJing at parties Ian soon progressed to DJing in clubs and bars across Birmingham and the Midlands. It started when Ian completed a course in ‘Creating Music Through Technology’ at Birmingham’s Academy of Music under the tutelage of Lee Fisher, a House Music and Ibiza DJ legend and Austen Kilburn a renowned Birmingham sound engineer. Ian learned his trade spinning vinyl on Technics 1210s and producing music on Properllerhead’s Reason and Cubase. Whilst plying his trade DJing Ian set up a record label ‘Monkey Beats’ along with fellow DJ ‘Stu Morton’, a staple at Three Shades Records and Hard to Find recording in Birmingham during the booming vinyl era of early noughties. With an ear for the zeitgeist of dance music Ian and Stu found and released numerous records from local talent including the now famous Jay Robinson. Releasing several of his own tracks alongside successful remixes of artists on the label roster Ian proved himself to be a talented remix artist.
Alongside running a record label, remixing and producing Ian had a career beyond the studio in mind. In pursuit of this Ian followed up his course in Birmingham with a Degree in Music Technology and Audio Engineering soon followed by a PGCE where Ian would start his educational career teaching the next generation of music producers, DJs, composers and Sound engineers. It was during his degree that Ian would secure his first release with American label Portamento, ‘Eivissa’ was an uplifting piano led house track. In 2007 Ian’s track ‘Dancin’’ was noticed by Manuel De La Mare from Hotfingers, an Italian label. With the release of this track came support from House Music legend Roger Sanchez.
During his career in teaching Ian has continued to produce and release music as well as win remix competitions including a remix of System F - ‘Cry’ which secured a full release on Ferry Corsten’s label, Premier. Ian soon followed this up with a winning entry in another competition remixing Bimbo Jones and Beverly Knight’s ‘I Found Out’. Since then Ian has continued to remix and produce to this day.

A remix of a classic track that I wanted to put my own spin on, which isn't much as the original is such a big track anyway. I'd never get the chance to officially remix this so it's a little rough given the processing required to source the vocal. but I think it still sounds big and this track is as fresh as ever. No copyright infringement intended. Enjoy :-)
