It was meant to end this way. I took a recorder with me on the go, firstly to get my second COVID vaccination, and on the way there I ended up encountering some rather unsavory characters. A couple days later I paid a visit to Ryan Reich and we gave Brooks Rocco a call. Then the next day I made a deliberate visit to Manhattan for my first time since lockdown to meet up with former L&R producer Doug Johnson, and his son.
Parenthood looms and another childhood is about to begin.
Elann went to back to Bushwick for two reasons: 1. Check out Radio Free Brooklyn's brand new studio for the first and last time (featuring fellow RFB stablemate and former L&R guest Calvin Williams as board operator) and 2. Conduct a long sought after interview with Denman C Anderson of Semita Serpens and Statiqbloom. Brothers Eli and Saul Jacobowitz are Elann's cousins. During their respective college days, very different types of music were made, but collaborations happened occasionally--- specifically with Saul's band American Head. A few select cuts are played from that catalog, hand picked by Eli, who also shared a taste of his own former project Subcontinents (more can be heard at subcontinents.bandcamp.com). Later, Elann unveils sounds from a 1988 family reunion.

In the hot seat this week is Will's kid brother Sam! Learn about Sam's unlikely yet fulfilling professional path, which took him from Memphis, TN, all the way to Poland, then somehow to Vancouver, British Columbia. Later on, prepare your ears for some truly adorable sounds of a 3 year old Sam from the early 90's. This conversation was a while in the making, and it was well worth the wait.
Elann surprises wife Robin on their unofficial anniversary/official "meetiversary" by setting up a rather impromptu Zoom recording from their kitchen featuring friends, family, and Rachel Teichman (who, evidently, is both). A rousing evening roundtable includes stories of cats, alcohol, and memories of E+R.
Elann reunited virtually with his karaoke komrade Jack Dourakos to learn more about Jack's time as ring announcer Gavin Loudspeaker in the indie wrestling world. In addition to all the wrasslin' talk, we also get brief glimpses into Jack's early life in Baltimore, his new life in L.A., and his recent resurgence back into music. New Jersey-based songwriter Orry Benavides has a lot of thoughts. Some of these thoughts ended up as a series of fiction novels Orry penned for a couple of years. But most of these thoughts would end up being transposed into songs under the name Placeholder Confidential. Equipped with songs old and new, Orry takes the crew of Will, Rachel, and Elann on a voyage into many a topic, including pastiche shoegaze, nautical themes, and a possum sighting.
Hailing from Tucson, AZ, Tommy Cormier, lead singer of Golden Alphabet, is now celebrating his golden anniversary (10 years in NYC!). More gold can be found on this go-around as Tommy shares old and previously unheard sounds of the musical variety. Friend and frequent past guest Matt Finch has been busy lately. When he isn't making music utilizing AI, he's developing something called "Cancelbot" with fellow collaborator Jared Wright. The final episode for the year serves up a couple of different directions in retrospective! First up is Will, who highlights some of his favorite moments and stories from the first three months of the year, including right about when New York's lockdown had begun! We're pulling the curtain this go-around on Meghan Pulles, who in seven short years since moving to New York from Florida has made amazing strides in re-establishing her artistry. Her songs are meant to uplift and cast a positive light, so naturally listening to her early 20's work provided an equally positive retrospective. Calvin Williams, curator/host for the weekly two hour journey "Lush Vibes Radio" (Tuesdays from 11p-1a on Radio Free Brooklyn) makes his first appearance on L&R to share a handful of songs made in the early to mid-00's. An accomplished musician in his own right but with no classical training, Calvin dishes out some Sonic The Hedgehog and Final Fantasy VII vibes in earlier compositions before bringing out the goods in the form of a wild drum & bass track and a simply polished deep house cut. One of the nerdiest episodes to date.

The final ghost episode! Originally released on Halloween as "The Spookiest," the original contents of this most frightening of episodes were lost during a computer crash. They had remained in stasis through a certain cluster of VHS tapes from Elann's childhood, until they were once again given a new life, being pieced together to create a soundscape with limited interruptions. Featuring plenty of food, letters, numbers, chases, songs, and the whole story, as well as a whole lot of editing mastery that begs the question: Was it really worth all the trouble?
For this edition, Rachel provides more home movie footage and Will shares high school journal entries of which Elann and Rachel try to read aloud. Brooklyn's very own Madeline Enlow returns to RFB! She is also joined (later) by her friend Piera Goldstein. The two of them used to live together among several others at a faux-commune in Staten Island, and in those days found some time to goof off a lot on camera. Also in this episode - Will gets called out, Rachel contemplates joining a commune herself, and Elann reposes the question, "What Would Save The World?"
Sibling shows unite! Besties Emily Scott & Jamie Lerner host Middle School Happy Hour, a Thursday night music show on RFB that is akin to L&R in more ways than just one. Clips featured on this hour include some adorable captures of Jamie's childhood visits to her grandparents, and Emily's AP History video project on Henry VIII. We also talk about transitions from middle school to high school, listen to some truly delightful 90's jams, and bear witness to a teenage Jamie's musical theater chops.
After hearing about Poughkeepsie Day School's alleged closure, Elann sprung into action and reached out to friend and fellow PDS alum Noah DeBiase. Noah fills us in on his beginnings in acting and his current life as an in-demand voiceover artist & teacher. Then, we get to hear his singing chops on three numbers from the 2001 PDS Original Musical, "Guest Appearances," which happened to see Noah and Elann literally playing opposite one another. Will is genuinely fascinated, and Rachel is, as always, flaming with rants. Featuring songs from 1999's "Life on Earth" as interludes all throughout!
From the town of Heswall, located on the northwest coast of England, in the Wirral peninsula, one single cassette tape was shipped across the Atlantic from Daniel Cambridge to cousin Elann. The contents of this tape are played for our rewound table after much discussion into Daniel's roles as actor, drama teacher, and loving father of teenagers. We also get a glimpse into a family holiday captured in the summer of 1989.
These days, Tom Ashton is both acting on the small screen and going the solo route (tomashton.com). His previous music iterations paint a very vivid picture, as the gang is treated to Early Edison stories, power pop anthems, and the rockingest version of "Mister Roger's Neighborhood" you've never heard because a famous Hollywood producer "devitoed" it. That joke was a missed opportunity. (Not a missed opportunity however - some of the interludes are homages to Bill Withers and John Prine, both RIP.)
You can't spell "teacher" without the "tea", and both of those apply to our guest Jon Reid! Normally heard on RFB every Saturday from from 10-11a as host of the widely popular "Race to the Bottom," Jon joins Elann and Rachel to share some high school "jambandery," courtesy of Equally Blue. New York is officially in lockdown mode, so Elann sets the stage for the weeks to come before his lively Zoom session commences, featuring Will, Rachel, and Rachel's cousin, a classically trained musician by the name of Josh November. Once upon a time Josh was a bassist with a rock trio, so most memorable show stories are shared! We're later treated to childhood sounds from 1995, as well as an excerpt from a middle school mockumentary that is nothing but swishy hoopty doopty. Lower East Side based and Long Island born musician Adam Howard Schneider calls in to discuss and share some early and phenomenal recordings, including one of the ska punk variety. Adam also shares an epic drug story, and later, performs an over-the-phone duet with his wife.
Both Rachel and Will make good on their promises to share their own early writings, and Olivia Whelan returns again to share one of hers as well! Featuring a short story about Barbie and Ken's relationship, a portion of a draft to a very moody stage play, and hair erotica.

Elann finally succumbs to the urge to share certain particular journal entries dating back to middle school, thus sending L&R into a brand new, literary, world. Listen in for a silly stream of consciousness tale that interpolates song titles found on alt-rock albums from the mid-90s. Later, Rachel and Will help breathe new life into an old timey radio drama, featuring shameless post-production tricks to change up voice speeds and pitches. Naughty boy!
Annie Nirschel is this week's guest, alongside her Union Street bandmate and partner Russ Stone! The team is treated to an impassioned version of "A Whole New World," a scholarship winning song about the U.S. Constitution, and a little ditty about someone's boyfriend who wasn't calling Annie back. Plus! A live version of the new single, "Alejandra." We are all total dorks.
Back to their normal antics right from the jump, Elann, Rachel, and Will are reunited, this time joined by special guest Paul Murdock - comedian, improviser, and minister's son! We listen to an old stand-up set and a film noir spoof, which then inevitably followed by Paul and Elann commencing to, as the phrase goes, "trading bars."

A born and bred New Yorker, Olivia Whelan speaks to us this week about when to say yes (embracing her newfound spirituality) and when to say no (filming a porno). Rachel and Elann are later provided with a bedtime story in the form of a Thai food menu, and financial advice from Suze Orman (as played by Olivia).
Funny friends Molly Densmore and Tim Dowd (both repping Plan Z Productions) met each other in an epically problematic acting class. Elann had the chance to know both of them before this class, when Molly was performing in Woodstock Youth Theater shows, and when Tim was rocking red sweatpants in middle school. On this episode, the gang is treated to outtakes of more recent nature from Tim's online webseries, and some very adorable clips from Molly, including an excerpt from the lone WYT film project, "They Shoot Hoops, Don't They?"
Returning guest Marcus Jade brings along his pal Eli and a guitar in hand, as Will and Elann are once again graced with the live acoustic sounds of one of the hardest working DIY musicians in Bushwick! Other topics brought up - going on tour, releasing an album of poetry, and "tiering" family members.
Our first episode of 2020 features Will and Elann in the studio, while Rachel phones in from NJ with clips to share of hers from pre-school, featuring singing, patient parents, and dancing like no one is watching! We also wax on the current state of the world, as well as our childhood homes and the forces of nature that tried to destroy them.

It's Elann's birthday, so a self-indulgent Danziger Zone tape listening party with limited interruption was probably inevitable. Rachel and Will are presented footage from a tape recorded by Elann in late 1995/early 1996, featuring lots of jokes, plenty of goofing off, and later on some music from the radio! This tape has it all.
Radio Free Brooklyn's very own DJ Defiance from Sunday evening program "Up Yours!" returns to the show! Rachel and Elann are blessed with delightfully awkward and utterly charming middle school-aged renditions of songs by The Beatles, The Shins, The Church, and The Kennedys. Other topics discussed include what albums we'd like to see made into musicals.
Singer-songwriter Sarah Donner calls in to The REC Room to bravely guide Rachel and Elann on a journey into earlier and never before heard material, long since buried in her basement. She also makes time to talk about beatboxing, going to choir college, and curating social media for her cats.
For our Thanksgiving episode this go around, returning guest Katherine Grant shares more sounds of her family home movies recorded in England. Sounds include, but are certainly not limited to, middle school improv, a Martha Stewart parody, and "the worst party ever." Featuring Katherine's brother Jim and sister Sheila, for a Grant family meal we'll never forget!
Finn Miller and Bill Hafener have been bandmates and collaborators since the 80's, and currently make up half of Finn & His Rustkickers. For this hour, we dive into the vaults for a carefully curated selection of some of Finn and Bill's early and rare musical offerings, by way of Erratic Sculpture and The Skels. Flamingly monumental stuff here includes songs about Andy Warhol, the Buoy 4 Bar, a secret language between twins, and a girl named Stephanie.
Welsh-based harpist Cerian returns to Radio Free Brooklyn for her second trip to NYC, this time equipped with early material, some never before heard songs, and a harpsicle that she plays live in the REC Room. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is also pronounced properly (around the 7 minute mark). Many an achievement unlocked here! Six years ago, musician and engineer Mathew Scheiner was the first guest contributor on L&R. Six years later he makes his return, this time in person, to share snippets of songs made in the early 00's. We also chat about following in his dad's footsteps, getting in shape, and everything you need to know about Baywa.
Interdisciplinary artist Catherine Meringolo recently did something scary: she put on a solo performance based on trauma from her past, and as a result breathed a brand new life into her artistry. So surely sharing folk songs she sang on with her 4th grade class would be easy to do, right? Catherine joins Elann along with Will and Rachel for an hour of very needed Scorpio vibes.
It's Rosh Hashanah! Again! Elann brought wine, Rachel brought muffins and a video from high school, and Will, this week's Gentile Giant, provides us with another peer into his affluent childhood.
Elann plays "The Most Offensive Sketch of All Time" for Kathryn and Rachel, and manages to not feel terrible about it afterwords! Later, Kathryn plays a less offensive but much funnier sketch she wrote for the Internet, and then both she and Elann read aloud a completely wholesome script Rachel wrote in middle school. Featuring musical interludes by The Cars(RIP Ric Ocasek).
A rousing roundtable awaits you! Featuring returning guest Zach Lennon-Simon, the gang talks therapy, the voices in Zach's head, and later we are treated to recorded monologues from both Zach and Elann, as well as Elann's rap debut as performed at his high school talent show.
We're joined by Squirm & Germ's Rodney Umble for a deep dig on trading in the Mennonite life for the NYC improv scene, performing and winning over the crowd at The Apollo, and being confronted with the audacious act of swearing. "Humble Umble" then treats us to some aged vocal and instrumental efforts, followed by a silly freestyle session with Elann.
Rachel is front and center this go-around with clips from her childhood! Plus, Kathryn reads Rachel's poetry aloud!

Madeline Long is a musician and writer hailing from Jacksonville, Florida. She once was the lead singer for a band of adult men when she was only in high school. She also recorded a lot of videos of her own music to YouTube around this time. Later on, Rachel and Elann are treated to a pair of voice memos Madeline recorded in her first few years of living in New York. (editor's note: There was a hedgehog on site for this recording, but she mainly just slept in her pouch the whole time.)
We're treated to more footage from the Vault de Hasty, however Elann wasn't able to find the right timestamp so a Barney-themed birthday party for Will's kid brother gets played instead. This atrocity is made up for later with the third and final installment of Kathryn's logically unlisted YouTube video. Oh, and Rachel hits us with a teaser! (editor's note: This was one of our more stop-start recording sessions to date, thus the shortened time. Please pardon the padding.)
Kathryn rummages through more of Elann's "mixtape" material to see what once forgotten relics remain. Later, they examine the second segment of Kathryn's most recent submission, featuring the sounds of a typical boys night in. But let's face it, all of this is secondary to the fact that this episode's audio has been shifted in pitch.
Recorded nearly 20 years ago, a mixtape of Elann's gets the roundtable treatment. Kathryn mistakes Beck for The Doors, Rachel hypothesizes on emo's beginnings, and Will gloriously messes up the lyrics to a famous Everclear song. And, of course, Elann exposes himself as a consumer of the Neo-Swing fad.
Lots of voices around the table this go-around, including a new voice from recent NYC transplant Rachel Teichman! Returning though is funny man Ivan Arguello, who makes good on his word to reveal more about his past, such as sharing details about his shoes obsession, his unusual middle child status, and his first jaunts into comedy. Later, we get treated to a couple of clips featuring his younger brother, featuring the likes of a foam sword, and what might be a less than advisable babysitting tactic.
RFB family member Tyree Rush is back, this time so we can pivot the attention squarely on him! Kathryn and a returning Rachel join Elann to listen in on Tyree's attempts at R&B songwriting, music journalism, and stand-up comedy. A diverse palate indeed, with largely successful results, and plenty of rich back stories from Tyree's upbringing in Atlanta. Your boy done did it now.
The team continues where they left off last week with more footage of young "Gardiner" Hasty, this time battling chicken pox and getting naked for the camera. Then, we watch a PG-13 sex tape made by Kathryn and friends in high school. Finally, a pissed off 21 year old Elann resorts to a video threat towards his nightmare roommates. None of these should ever be seen, which is why the art of listening comes so in handy here!
For the inaugural Will Hasty childhood experience, the gang is joined by Ivan Arguello, a stand-up comic and one of Will's neighbors. After a little chat with Ivan, clips from Will's past are finally unearthed, including a Beatles singalong, conversations with the babysitter, and holiday time with extended family.
Eighteen years have passed, and now the 2001 Poughkeepsie Day School Commencement...is old enough to graduate high school itself. Joining Elann to highlight select sounds from this most unique day in history: Kathryn, new RFB family member Tyree Rush, and one of Elann's best friends, Sean Kelley. Sean and Elann's speeches are played, as are speeches from fellow PDS grads Eric Justusson, Emanuelle Joissant, and Ingram Weber.
Kathryn finally shares some epic footage from her teen years! The audio within stems from a home video which mostly chronicles a normal day in Long Island. Just a fraction of the topics covered on this hour: a joy ride complete with heckling and stranger interactions, crushes on friends of the same gender, and lots of dressing up in costumes that are apparently still kicking about in Kathryn's storage locker.
The Penultimate Ghost Episode! In June of 2018, David Piccolomini returned as a guest on the show, but the recording came out, in a word, dreadful. It took a year, but after some work and time put in by the very kind Tom Tenney (RFB's station manager and a previous guest of L&R), the audio was mostly repaired! Listen in if you dare to a lot of talk about the early days of online relationships and dating, plus Elann gets his old MySpace profile deconstructed by David! Later, Pickles goes for 3 for 3 (again) on obscure children's stage show clips.
Before the recording of the episode entitled "Highland", the gang set up a video livestream to answer questions from the Internet, such as what our most memorable live music experiences were, what our favorite all-time songs are, and where in the world we would want to go the most if we only had one choice.

Bassist extraordinaire Kevin Jones, back so soon? It's true! There's unfinished business to attend to, this time in the form of a tape called "The Ben and Kevin Show," provided to us during Kevin's last visit to L&R. Recorded in Georgia by middle school boys, this specimen features the sounds of 1994, including Beavis & Butthead impressions, an amazing All 4 One homage, and as the title suggests, farts.

The first time comedian Johnny Azari was on our show was back in the fall. However, like every good ghost episode, the contents were never meant to be heard. Fortunately, Elann and Will get a chance at redemption, as Johnny returns to the show for Round 2, featuring old stand-up comedy clips, early 00's musical output, and absolutely no political correctness whatsoever.
Former theater kid Abigail Treut decided to make a career change in a big way. Now on her way to becoming a hairstylist and beautician (IG - abi_treut_styles), Abi reflects on her past as a professionally groomed thespian. Later, we are treated to a little home movie action and even some college theater sounds, which are then given the Recreation Theater treatment (back for a third time!).
18 year old Elann speculates on the future all while hitting on such hot-button topics as politics, music, relationships, cars, and his employment woes. Older Elann is again joined by Will and a returning Kathryn for commentary about all this. Thanks to Kathryn for the episode name!
Writer & comedian Kelly Bachman comes by to share old videos from her childhood growing up in Greensboro, NC. We also talk about her multiple projects, how she transitioned from film into comedy, and why you should take caution when facing her (or any of the Bachman sisters for that matter) at Tekken.
Singer-songwriter Sophie Blue joins Elann to talk roots and influences, and play some music live in The REC Room; Our first musical guest to do so! Later, Sophie contributes some rather irreverent Snapchats from college and even shares a performance from high school.
Our first episode recording live from The REC Room, a name Elann was responsible for selecting! He and Will go about a smattering of Danziger Zone clips, tracing back to such familiar topics as hairstyle atrocities, terrible British accents, and bringing a tape recorder to school. One for the purists.
A while back during the early days of L&R, Elann, along with Melissa and Doug, uncovered a tape from Melissa's outgoing neighbor in Queens. They decided to play tracks from it and provide commentary, which in hindsight was a great idea except for the fact that the episode only featured snippets of the tape's content.
For this episode, half of the tape's contents are played in full. Featuring seemingly no one, except for the mysterious voice of someone named Alan Fitzdaniels. Our most ominous analog offering to date!
Will once again comes through with another deeply creative gem of a human, Texas son Kevin Jones, who currently plays bass for Scarlet Sails, a band co-founded by Dresden Dolls drummer Brian Viglione. That tidbit was merely a blip towards the end of the show, as Will and Elann were too busy for this this hour diving into Kevin's past projects and evolution as a musician. Featuring high school band rock, praise & worship music, and a song about murder.
Take a dive into the sounds of Lauren Killer's musical theater past, along with a great deconstruction of her evolution as a sketch performer and improviser. Elann rides solo for this go-around, which makes for an organic flowmance to blossom between two hip hop improvisers, with an actual freestyle session included!

Will enlisted a fellow E-Brooklyn Media co-worker to come by. Jonathan Sperling is soon to graduate from Baruch College and works as the digital editor for the Queens Daily Eagle. Jonathan may only be 22, but his first radio show interview provided Will and Elann with some fun insights into his Marine Park upbringing and continued interest in community news. Featuring sung praises for Disney World, visual pranks definitely not fit for radio, four minutes of sped up talking near the end, and musical interludes all throughout by Talk Talk (RIP Mark Hollis).

Those familiar with Radio Free Brooklyn's Sunday morning call-in talk show "Young Person's Radio" will be pleased to hear its host and creator Colby Smith on the other side of the board for an in-depth look at his journey into comedy, and where his love of radio first began. Colby shares with Will and Elann his weird obsession with the Jimmy Buffet musical, his affinity for slapstick humor, and his utter disdain for the sketch comedy clips he created for the University of Sheffield back in 2011.
Our Valentine's Day episode with Velocity Starr Chyaldd is for some reason very loud but filled with all the more love, as well as magic (title notwithstanding). Adjust the volume on your headset and get locked into a debaucherous excursion with Elann, Will, and a woman who boasts many titles such as seasoned witch, innovative burlesque performer, and host of Radio Free Brooklyn's "Fallen Woman," which can be heard on RFB every Friday at the stroke of midnight. Angel Yau returns to the show (this time in person!) alongside collaborator Ross Brunetti! They sit down with Elann & Will to discuss all things On This Day, and even share some excerpts from the event they recently hosted with that same title. Simply put, up until the recording, Will had not schooled himself on "The Wizard of Zone," which was unveiled in its original form over the course of two episodes in L&R's first season on RFB. It's a script Elann wrote when he was 13. And so, it was decided they should both read scenes from the script, which resulted in some rather creative (and some not so creative) character voices and a ton of sound effects spliced in later.
The first episode of 2019 brings us the big and bright sounds of Cat Rickman, who gets the opportunity to play not one but two songs live in the studio, with guitar and keyboard respectively. Cat also discusses her time spent in Paris, her New Jersey upbringing, and the clips that she provided to us which brilliantly chronicle her 16 year old "goth" phase. Will joins Elann again this week to get a crash course on The Danziger Zone. Excerpts from Side 1 and 2 of Fisher Price's "Discover a World of Sounds" are finally revealed. For a brief moment in time, everything is starting to make more sense again.
Guest Frank Zemel stops by with a growth in his neck that inexplicably spawns Kathryn Dunn, all while Elann tries recording a successful redux with Will providing incessant color commentary. Frank used to play music when he was younger, and he had plenty of stories behind how that started, featuring karaoke in a pizza parlor, finding a thrash metal tape in a porn shop, and flipping a Spice Girls song to be about Lorena Bobbit.
This week, we got Andy Rose, a fellow open mic buddy of Jimmy's. Andy provides us with a sufficient amount of humility, clues us into his knack for risk-taking, and channels a particular revolutionary singer-songwriter. Jimmy's unofficial final appearance on L&R.
Blair Dawson is busy these days being a funny lady on the radio and on stage, including as host and co-creator for two different storytelling/comedy shows in Brooklyn: "U Up?" and "As If!" She also somehow found time to come on to the show to join Elann and a returning Kathryn Dunn to discuss ADD medication that doesn't work, horror stories about her hometown, and most importantly, those 36 questions. She also provided more than a fair glimpse into her childhood, helping put together one of our more confessional episodes to date.
Actor/writer/director Will Hasty is the son of a newspaper man, specifically the Editor-in-Chief for The Brooklyn Eagle. Will obtained some fantastic footage, dating all the way back to 1929, of interviews with senior citizens at that time (images of subjects above).

In the summer of 2009, Courtney Frances Fallon accidentally recorded over two hours of audio during a 12 hour drive from Dawson Creek, British Columbia to Watson Lake, Yukon. Along the way, some truly hilarious conversations were documented featuring Courtney's travel companion, Katharine T. Jacobs. The trip was for the Alaska portrait in Jacobs' "American Strangers" photo series. Footage from this car ride can be heard within, featuring commentary from Courtney, Katharine, and some more helpful context from friend Ursula Barton. Elann & Jimmy are merely riding in the back seat for this journey.

A new film project in the works had Elann's attention, and not just because it involved former guest Nancy Pop. "The Molok" touches on several topics that come up on Lost & Rewound: nostalgia, innocence, and memories. Joining Nancy to talk about the concept are chief sculptor Annalisa Barron and the co-creators Sam Wilson & Xander Chauncey. Clips are also played later, because of course!
Singer-songwriter Dru Cutler (from the Unit J collective out of Bushwick) has a new album out called "Bring Closer The Distance!" We had him in the studio to chat about his beginnings in Tampa, FL, and even got treated to some of his earliest works from high school.
After scouring through countless belongings in the summer of 2016, Elann stumbled upon a record from 1976, appearing to be a lost relic from his late mother-in-law's collection. The guest on this episode is Elann's wife, Robin, who provides insight and context about her late grandfather's 81st "This is Your Life" themed birthday party.

As lead growler of Brooklyn based progressive acoustic metal band Facebacon, Gabe Canett hits up open mics on the regular. He and Jimmy became fast friends, so it didn't take long for Gabe to come on the show to share some old tracks from 2007. WARNING: Elann does some more poor freestyling towards the end.
A month or so back, Ryan Smith from Brooklyn based band Crusasis was on the show sharing his audio with us in what became a rather rousing good time. Unfortunately, that audio was lost in yet another black hole, and so another ghost episode was not to be heard. Then we brought him back to try again and quite frankly, it would appear we recreated the magic effortlessly. Featuring middle school heavy metal, lo fi rap, and some of the most dissonant sounds featured on L&R to date.
Tommy Rockstar was the bassist for the 90's punk rock band Latex Generation. Recently, he came across a rare tape of his band's first album, so we thought that was a pretty good reason to bring him by the studio. We talk about the tape, the 90's DIY punk scene, and even Kinko's.

Elann & Jimmy spend time trading off character impressions before going into far too much detail about their first crushes. Then, returning voice and newly married Claire Linic (The Awkward Phase, We Fought About) stops by to chat a little about pop culture, her wedding afterglow, and being the oldest kid at church camp.
We have made our return, while also debuting the show on Radio Free Brooklyn, with Jimmy in the mix for good! We talk about fluency in other languages, our greatest sports moments, and misadventures in camping. We even get a little music lesson from Kyle Bailey's dad.
Our first submission, based out of NYC in 1999, from an anonymous source! Plenty of radio jams here from stations such as WPLJ and Z100. We talk shit, we get a little emo, and unabashedly glaze over tracks we know nothing about. This was a fun experiment.

Early on in 1995, Elann's first recorder died in the middle of making a tape. Using a new recorder at Ryan's house, he attempted to set things straight. The clip shared here is the most audible evidence indicating what had happened.

Taken from Episode 12, "Chicken Chest." In light of recent events surrounding the future of Elann's childhood playground, we felt it would be an appropriate time to reflect on what Woodstock Wonderworks meant not only to him, but to our guest panel.
In Episode 13 of our pilot season, "Talk Til You Drop," we were joined by Elann's sister Sarrah. We played a clip of her amazing improvisational singing but there was a second part of it we did not play. In light of the holiday, it felt more appropriate to unearth today. Merry Christmas!
