A Podcast about local food, drink, entertainment and the people that create it in the Twin Cities area
A note about our format: the intent of many of our episodes; like Northbound is to create the feeling of hanging out with us at the venue or event we are visiting. In a lot of cases we are actively recording while we are visiting and enjoying food, drink and interacting with the staff. We hope you enjoy the show
14 years ago I was “persuaded” to go to Alma by a friend and roommate of mine for her now husbands birthday. We sat upstairs, I knew it was special but I didn’t know how special until I returned this past weekend. I decided a month or two ago to book it for our anniversary; It was duck two ways….get there now and do the wine pairings because they know what they are doing.
Andy
Andy interviews Wayne and barely scratches the surface of Wayne's experience and contribution to the Twin Cities hospitality scene.
My wife and I were chatting Sunday morning about taking a drive, she thought it might be nice to visit a couple breweries and pick up some beer to-go; of course I had no issue with this. We decided it might be fun to invite some family along (in their own car of course). My sister in-law and her husband own the brewing supply business Beermeister; we knew they would enjoy some windshield time and some good beer.
We visited LTD (http://ltdbrewing.com) in Hopkins, we have a connection there through Warrior Dog Rescue and have always enjoyed the beer. While there we asked AJ if he would recommend another brewery and he mentioned Falling Knife which was relatively new and we had heard from others that it was a great place to checkout.
We made the drive from Hopkins over to Falling Knife (https://fallingknife.beer); during this time my niece was giving my brother in-law a hard time about being on a “family alcohol field trip,” what a perfect name for this activity I thought.
Todays take…
