Heroin is what brought these two women together, and a belief in Jesus is what keeps them together. After meeting in a treatment facility in 2013, they decided to start working together to help others. Their work eventually led them to launch Most High Ministries, a recovery support and community outreach mission, located in Charlotte, NC. Now, they've traveled all across the nation, serving the homeless populations along the way, and spreading the good news of hope and love. This is the story of Kara and Stacey. Welcome to Heroines.
In 2018, I decided to launch this podcast. I wanted to discuss my 15 year addiction to drugs and alcohol, and I assumed I would have plenty to say. I made one episode, and then realized I was not ready to be so public. I slid back into the shadows and allowed the one episode to linger for 3 years.
I am now 5.5 years into recovery and I was invited to be on a separate show, Beyond Grit with Robert Young. Robert is my boss and he finally convinced me to sit down and share my story. That episode is live on Wednesday December 1, 2021. I will include the link in the show notes.
After recording, and with the overdose deaths in 2021 being over 100,000, I felt it was time to start talking again. I enjoy my life as a "private figure" and honestly don't plan to make this a huge show. I just hope it reaches the right people who need to hear it in their times of need.
