Here at Fad Lads, Chris & Dok challenge themselves to commit to a fad, lifestyle, health regime or mental wellness activity EVERYDAY for a month. It could be a simple as running 3k a day, not eating carbs, meditating for 30min a day, perhaps it's just reading a chapter a of a book or painting for 30 mins a day.. The point is... you have to do it EVERY day for a set period of time. How this show works is we set each other the monthly challenge and report halfway through as to how it’s going. At the end of the month we discuss what, if any, benefits we have experienced. Each month will be a new challenge and will be for the body or mind in some way or other. The key is doing it EVERY DAY.We also want to include our friends, so every month we will set one of our friends a challenge as well and they’ll be phoning in and updating us with how they are surviving.Contact us at @officialfadlads on Twitter and Instagram
Taking a break from the normal FAD LAD CHALLENGES, Dok & Chris talk to blogger, plus size model and all round FAD LAD advocate Emma Smyth (@the_em_edit). Emma was one of our first guests taking on the challenge of getting up at 5am every day for a month.
Using the New York Times article 'Smashing The Wellness Industry' by Jessica Knoll, as our diving off point for our conversation, we discuss female body shape, size, weight, wellness and the correlation to diet, happiness and health as well as body shape in advertising.

Chris and Jo chat in London about this months challenges with Dok on Skype from Los Angeles. It's an absolute corker of an episode as Jo tells us how her challenge went. She decided to talk to someone new, a stranger, every day. It's a hugely insightful and recommendable challenge that's well worth a listen. Chris was doing circuit training every day and Dok invested in walking 10,000 steps a day for the month.... Hear how they got on and hear their excuses...
This month Chris & Dok battle on with health & wellness challenges. Chris puts himself up to a circuit training program to try and get his summer Dad bod, whilst Dok tries to walk 10,000 steps a day to see if it is a massive hassle or total pleasure. Both very much physical challenges.....
Our guest this month is london based Johannah Hogg. Jo is taking a huge leap into the unknown this month with a mental (and hopefully spiritual) challenge of talking to someone different that she doesn't know...every day... for a month.... whether it is at a bus stop, in a park or on a bus.
Listen to this episode to find out why and how she is going to do this. It's a good 'un.
Catch up with Chris & Dok as they discuss how Chris using the MyFitnessPal app went and Dok not having an alarm affected his work (Spoiler: He didn't get fired.)
We talk about the positive effects of getting a good nights sleep and the equally positive effects of just being a be more aware of what you eat.
We are taking these challenges because we want to see how different lifestyles and 'fads' can affect our mental and physical well being. Please don't blame us if you miss work because you didn't set an alarm. It's also important to state that when we talk about weight and calories it is a personal decision that we are making and not preaching about weight loss or diet.
This month we are switching it up a little. We are taking a break from having a guest challenge and just having a broader chat about where we are now that we are hitting the fourth month as well a having some general talk about heart rate training, overall wellness and what we have learnt so far.
The challenges this month are good ones though.... Chris does some calorie counting with the help of the app MyFitnessPal to try and chip away at his Dad Bod whilst Dok has to say goodbye to his night owl ways and spend a whole month sleeping without an alarm.... If you think that's easy just bear in mind the he has a job that sometimes starts very early...
@AmberTozer joins Chris & Dok 'live' in Amber's spare room at her apartment in West Hollywood. The chat i since and easy as we go through our challenges, all of which seem to have had a lovely soothing, therapeutic and beneficial effect on all involved. Dok, if you can believe this, looks even better after a month of no sugar and Chris gives another terrible book review.
Any suggestions, thoughts or just a thumbs up is gratefully received @Officicialfadlads on twitter and Instagram.
Catch up with how Chris & Dok are doing on their challenge of reading and not eating sugar. It's an odd mix this month as these don't sound too tricky but they do prove to be very beneficial in the area of mental and physical wellness.
Chris delivers the worst book review of all time and we get excited to welcome @AmberTozer at the end of the month to discuss her brilliant stick figure drawing challenge.
Chris & Dok have a new set of challenges this month. Chris tries to read for 30 mins a day (he can read but he means as in literature as opposed to Twitter), Dok steers clear of processed sugar and our guest @AmberTozer does some very funny and poignant cartooning.... it'll all make sense when you listen.
We hope you are enjoying our monthly challenges, please like and subscribe if you do, or contact us on @officialfadlads if you have thoughts, comments or ideas.
Catch up with Chris, Dok & Liamo as we discuss how our month of bendy, thinking scribbling went. It was a pleasant surprise that Chris can touch his toes and Dok finds the advantages of meditation reach beyond home. Liamo phones in to give us a catch up as to the trials of his challenge. Get in touch on twitter and instagram @officialfadlads.
Catching up with Chris & Dok, half way through their month, is guest Liam O'Murchu (@liam_omurchu)Chris is smashing through his Yoga regime with zen like mastery, Dok is wandering around his neighbourhood smelling flowers and Liam is trying to find the time to write for thirty minutes a day.
Enjoy the conversation in this episode as we chat through our progress and find out some interesting stuff about Liam's line of work... he's a bit of hero...

In the second month of challenges Chris & Dok switch it up with challenges that focus on mental health as well as physical. Chris decides to take on 30 minutes of yoga a day, and Dok is giving up all forms of social media (which for him is Twitter and Instagram) as well as immersing himself in 10mins of meditation a day.
Because Dok is off social media, Chris is now in charge of Twitter and & Instagram... should be interesting...

In the final instalment of February's Fad Lads Challenge, we catch up with Chris & Dok to see if they survived Intermittent Fasting and doing 100 push ups a day. We also check in on Emma, asking her if getting up at 5am everyday has any point to it at all.
There is no explicit content in this episode although Chris does touch Dok's pecs.
Please feel free to either join in, tweet or instagram us @officialfadlads.
It's the half way point in February and we have a catch up to see how Chris is getting on with his intermittent fasting (16/8) how Dok's pecs of steel are coming along with his commitment to 100 press ups a day, and how Emma is getting along with setting her alarm for 5am every morning - is she getting richer and more successful?
Here at Fad Lads, Chris & Dok try different fads, diets and life-styles everyday for a month. They invite a friend along for the ride to see if there are other, better or more interesting ways to achieve wellness in both the body and the mind.
Here at Fadlads, Chris & Dok challenge themselves to a bout of a fad, or a way of life... a month at a time and doing it EVERY DAY. Then, and only then, can we report back to you what it feels like and whether it is something you want to try yourself.
This month Chris takes on Intermittent Fasting, Dok aims to do 100 push ups a day and our guest this month is blogger and model Emma Smyth (@the_em_edit) Emma tries to see if getting up at 5am every day is going to make her successful...
After this opening episode, we will report halfway through the month as to how it’s going, and if we're surviving and then finally, at the end of the month, we discuss what, if any, the benefits of our fad are. Each month will be a new fad and will be for the body or mind in some way or other. The key is doing it EVERY DAY.
