We continue our series called "To Live A Righteous Life." We are pulling truth out of God's word and looking at 1 John 3:11-18. Today we ask the question "Do We Love Like Jesus?" The evidence of God working in the life of a Christian is their love for God's family and for the lost. Do we have God's love for the world? Or do we love when we want to, when it benefits us or when we feel like it? Living a righteous life means have a life centered around the love of Jesus Christ.

We continue our series called "To Live A Righteous Life." We are pulling truth out of God's word and looking at 1 John 3:7-10. Today we look at what it takes to maintain a relationship with Christ. How do we become more Holy and righteous just like Christ? It starts with a repentant heart. There are many people who look like Christians however they never knew Christ--we need to look at the fruit we produce in our lives. If we love Christ, if we maintain a relationship with Christ, we will have a heart of repentance and receive Jesus' grace.

Welcome to the Enrich Life Podcast. We continue our series in 1 John this week with 1 John 1:8-10. In order to a righteous life we must confess our sins. Not just when we do something wrong rather we must first understand that we are sinful by nature. Nobody in this world is without sin--except for one man who lived and died on the cross and lived again defeating the grave providing us forgiveness for our sinful nature. God wants our hearts to be full of repentance rather than full of pride. This is why we must confess our sins both to God and to our community.

Holy Week Break Down,
John 12:12-19 : Jesus Enters Jerusalem
John 12:20-25 : Greeks seek after Jesus and Jesus accepts them
John 12:27-50 : Jesus foretells His death on the cross
John 13:1-38 : Jesus washes the disciple’s feet during Passover, even the one who will betray Him, Jesus predicts His betrayal.
John 14: The disciples are scared for when Jesus leaves them. Jesus proclaims the promise of the Holy Spirit working after He is in Heaven AND He tells them that He, The Person of the Spirit are One with the Father (three persons; one substance)
John 15 +16:1-4: Jesus tells his disciples to abide in Him; (vs. 18 onward) talks about picking up their cross as Jesus is about to pick up His cross. Do as I do (similar to John 13:15). Jesus’ followers must do what Jesus has done. Jesus warns the disciples of the high priest coming after them once Jesus has been killed.
Now let us Read John 19:16-30
The Prophecy of the coming King riding on a foal of a donkey is found in Zechariah 9:9

Here are the extra scriptures we reference
Matthew 5:3-9 (The Beatitudes)
Genesis 3:19 (The Consequence of Sin)
Jesus raises Lazarus back from the dead because He is God. Jesus is foreshadowing what He will do in a couple of chapters with the death on the cross and resurrection from the grave in John 19 + 20. Remember that we are saved when we have faith in Christ and Christ alone. We unpack Martha's reaction to Jesus arriving late and how God's timing is perfect yet different then our human timing. We get lost (especially as the church) when we do not put our faith in Christ rather when we put our faith in ourselves.
READ John 8:12-30
As we continue through the book of John, we continue to see Jesus reiterating and confirming his divinity, and right HERE, in the middle of John chapter 8, we get a summary of how Jesus’ ministry is being understood and received by his audience, and what the purpose of Jesus ministry was.
There are 3 topics that are brought up here that I am going to talk about tonight.
And the first topic is looking into the phrase “Lift Up”.
the second topic is Light.
And the third is about Jesus’ Purpose.
LIFTING UP
“When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM[He], and I do nothing on My own,” we have spoken about this before about all the imagery and biblical connections to the phrase “Lift up” or “lifted up”.
When ever you see a bible verse talking about lifting up there are 4 connected verses that all speak about this theme and I want you to remember them for context.
“And just as Moses lifted upthe serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,”
This is in connection to the miracle where the Lord sent venomous snakes to judge the Israelites, but if they looked at the bronze serpent on the staff that Moses lifted up, they were healed. Jesus is showing us that this verse in and of itself, in the context of the Old Testament, shares the gospel!
Listen this is amazing.
They traveled from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea, to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on the way; they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”
Then the Lord sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died. The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.
The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived.
Okay so,
His people sinned, they spoke against God and they doubted God’s ability to save them in their desert wanderings. They preferred slavery in Egypt over trusting God and following him through hard times. So, God shows them judgment. He sends venomous snakes as plague over them, but he still shows mercy. He makes a way for them to be reconciled. He tells Moses to make a serpent out of bronze and put it on a pole and lift in up and everyone who looked at the bronze snake lived.
While looking into this topic I found a sermon from man named peter and he looks at this miracle in the context of
“He made Him who knew no sin TO BE SIN IN OUR BEHALF, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
And 4. Galatians 3:13 says,
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, HAVING BECOME A CURSE FOR US—for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’"
Jesus bore our sin and became sin and died the death we deserved. He shed his blood, showing us the greatest Love of all, to welcome us back and reconcile us into the covenant with HIM.
Devo | Jesus' Masterplan | John 7:1-32 | Pastor Jordan Clark Read John 7:1-32
This is a challenging piece of scripture. Let us paint the picture—what is happening here? The Jewish feast of the Booths or Sukkot is happening. This is a seven day feast that is meant for the people to receive glorious joy from understanding their Jewish past. The Jewish people were instructed to live in basic huts for seven days to remember their ancestors walking through the wilderness. This happens at the end of the harvest season—the Jews are supposed to be filled with joy as to be reminded of how God has provided for them during the time in the desert and during the current time after the season of harvest. There is joy in the suffering of the wilderness because they are with God and God is with them—this is the feast of the Booths, Sukkot. Notice the conversation between Jesus and His half brothers.
Question 1: What is happening in this conversation? Afterwards Jesus lets the brother’s know that He will not be going to the festival quite yet—(Many people use this to accuse Jesus of lying however Jesus does end up going there eventually, in secret)
Question 2: Why do you think that Jesus goes to the feast in secret rather than letting everyone know that He is there?
Read: John 7:18-25
Question 3: Why are the jews accusing Jesus and why do you think Jesus gives this specific answer? What is important about this interaction at the feast in light of the book of John? Read John 7:1-32 This is a challenging piece of scripture. Let us paint the picture—what is happening here? What is important about this interaction at the feast in light of the book of John? As you are pondering these questions—remember to see what the text is saying rather than what we are putting into scripture. What is Jesus’ attitude? approach? Demeanour? Is Jesus rude? Gentle? There is no wrong answer, read it over and see what Jesus is doing here and how is is answering.

Read John 6:41-58
In our last sermon we started the portion where Jesus describes being the “Bread of Life”.
“I am the bread of life, he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.” John 6:35
We described the history of Humanity’s sinful nature and how we do not deserve God’s love, God’s gift of salvation, and God’s grace. We looked back at all of the times there was rebellion towards God—this is why Jesus is starting that we must make Him our daily bread. Jesus knows that are natural instinct is to abandon His covenant, to abandon our relationship with Him—so He is paving the way into how we can interact with Him ( how often, how, and that we need our relationship with Him in order to be saved and become like Him)
But Why Does God Love Us? Why Does God want to Save Us?
Well God has made certain promises to Humanity. These promises are called “Covenants” These are legally binding promises that God has made, transactional commitments in which God has made with humanity throughout HIs history of interaction with us.
Deuteronomy 7:9 “God’s Mosaic Covenant is found in Deut. 7:9 “Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
The New Covenant fulfilled by Jesus — Jeremiah 31:31-34, Matthew 26:28 “for this is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.” Some call this the covenant of grace.
Deuteronomy 7:9 is leading up to the ten commandments given to Moses and the people of Israel in Deut. 10-11. The people are given instructions in how to follow the law, how to live righteously. In Matthew 5 Jesus gives clear direction that He has not come to destroy the law but rather to fulfill the law. This New Covenant of Grace is not meant to replace the Mosaic Covenant but rather to be built upon it.
God is faithful. God stands by His promises. God does not waiver. He is sinless, perfect, blameless, God fulfills his Covenantal Promises to Us. The bible clearly highlights that Jesus has loved us and continues to love us—this is a true promise.
Question 1: What do these promises mean for us today? How do you find peace, contentment in these Covenants that God has made with humanity?
“I am the bread of life. Your fathers at the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down out of heaven: if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.” John 6:48-51
It is clear that Jesus wants a daily relationship with us. Jesus wants us to make Him our daily portion.
Question 2: Why do you think Jesus compares Himself to Bread? What is the meaning of being the daily bread for Jesus?
We are in a loving relationship with Jesus—we must be in continual repentance towards Him in our daily lives. This is why we must make Him our daily portion. How can we become more like Him when we don’t know Him? Did you know that Jesus calls us to come back to Him? He wants us to turn from our sinful temptations towards Him. He is God therefore He is our Lord fulfilling this New Covenantal promise—He loves us because He created us, He loves us because the scriptures tell us so. He is ever faithful to HIs promises. This should give us eternal Joy, eternal Hope and should create joy filled lives while living in this broken world.
Question 3: What do we need to change in our daily routines to bring more of Jesus into them? Are we filled with Joy everyday? Why or Why not? What can we do to remedy this problem?
This is for our Sunday Gathering on January 16th, 6:30pm @ 70 Froom Crescent. For more media and teachings visit www.enrichregina.com. If you have questions or want to know more about Jesus email us at info@enrichregina.com
Pastor Jordan Preaching, From our Faith Gathering on Wednesday December 15th, 2021.
One thing is clear when reading this portion of John: Jesus is in control and He is the focus. Well, that may not be entirely true, God the Father is the focus. Jesus had just performed two amazing miracles establishing that He does not fully operate within the kingdom found on Earth. Rather, Jesus is operating within a different kingdom, the kingdom of God or Kingdom of Heaven.
Jesus answers the question that the crowd asked when they finally saw Him arrive on His boat: “Rabbi, when did you get here?”
Read John 6:26-40
Question 1: Why didn’t Jesus just answer a simple “well were had some complications on the board,” or “I was taking time away by myself” instead of giving this long sermon-like answer?
Question 2: Why do you think Jesus calls Himself the bread of Life in John 6:35
Question: 3: One thing is clear here: Jesus wants our full attention. We must rely on Him as we rely on our food, our provisions as the only provision we truly need is from Jesus (God). What do you in your daily routine to make sure that Jesus is the focal point of your life? What do you need to do to fix this if Jesus isn’t the focal point in your life?
It is clear that the entirety of scripture proves that God provides for His people. God provided bread in the desert as the Israelites wandered (because of their own doing), Psalm 78:24, Exodus 16:1-7. God provided prophets, judges and leaders to help the Israelites stay on track in their relationship with God, Book of Judges, Jeremiah, Judges, God has also provided eternal life to those that have faith in Jesus Christ, He died in our place so that we may have eternal life instead of eternity in hell (eternal judgement and separation from God), John 6:26-40.
God has done because He will not abandon us. God loves his people so much that he judges them, He has died in their place, and has offered a direct relationship to them. We have a choice: We can choose to obey God’s promise and have faith in Jesus OR we can choose to abandon this offer and abandon God’s promise—God won’t deny us but we can deny God.

Ep. 40 | God The Provider | John 6:1-25 Throughout this beginning of John; God’s word is continually reminding us that He is the Lord above all and the Lord with us in Jesus Christ as man. Jesus wants us to rely fully on Him. Jesus does not want us to give into our human desires, our human issues and our human shortcomings; rather He shows us here that there is no shortcoming for Him (Jesus is God and all powerful)
Read John 6:1-25
Question 1: Why do you think Jesus fed this large crowd? We need to examine the crowd in the feeding of the five thousand account where Jesus feeds a large group of people with a small amount of fish and bread. Now remember the crowd usually just took attendance or census of the men (this number could be more considering families were present). So why would Jesus feed this people? This also shows that Jesus cares deeply about what the crowd needed “Gather up the leftover fragments so that nothing will be lost.” —John 6:12.Not only did Jesus feed everyone but there was leftovers—Jesus truly is the provider.
Question 2: Why do you think Jesus and His disciples were trying to be separated from the rest of the boats when the people were watching from the shore in John 6:15-25? Why did Jesus start this story by being away from His disciples? It is clear that Jesus wants to be pursued. He wants to be loved. He wants us to be in relationship with Him. It is also clear that Jesus had become so famous that He was attracting massive crowds. Jesus took care of His “alone time.” He does it often in His ministry. Lastly, these two miracles show the heavenly rule of Christ on earth. It further proves that Jesus is God and that Jesus cares so deeply for His creation. He feeds, He provides, He even takes care of being alone and models a proper life living under the Father God’s reign. But before we end, I want you to ask an honest question, and yes, please be honest.
Question 3: Do you think that you are worth saving? Do you think Jesus would have fed you? Why or why not?
Spoiler: You are always worth saving. You are always worth God's provision. God’s grace extends onto you just as it extended onto those five thousand people plus and the crowd waiting for Jesus on the shoreline. God literally is showing us, the reader, and showing the people in this time being apart of these miracles that Jesus is God, that He offers a bread that is not of earth but it is from heaven and the Father in heaven. We must always worship Jesus the one true God.

Nov. 10th Faith Gathering. John 5:25-40 NASB 1995 Version. Welcome to our Enrich Life Faith Gathering. We are going through the book of John a couple of verses at a time. This series is called Person(s): Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Open up your Bible and read along with us as we teach this portion of scripture. We meet as a church at 70 Froom Crescent every second Wednesday evening at 5:45pm.
What does it mean to be a witness? We often hear this term throughout our lives both as children and adults. We hear of witnesses when talking about incidents out on the playground. We hear of witnesses when the crowd sees an amazing play at their favourite team's sporting event. We also hear of witnesses when there is a major trial in play. What does it mean to be a witness? Think about his. Let it ponder. Let it resonate within yourself. It is a common word that holds great weight in our lives. Witnesses can cause a conviction in a trial; a witness can also exonerate someone being accused and allow them to walk free. A witness can clear up a situation where there is a muddy story and can bring clarity to those seeking clarity. The official definition of "Witness" is: "A person who sees an event, typically a crime or accident, take place." This is typically a legal term meaning that a witness has great power and responsibility this is why bearing as a false witness is not taken lightly. The word of God also talks about being a "witness" to what God is doing. Jesus is called a witness of many things as explored in John 5:25-47. Read John 5:25-47 Question 1: Why is testifying about God (The Father) so important to Jesus? Question 2: Jesus talks about the 'four witnesses (John, Works, Father, Scripture) if we are to follow Jesus' example and be witnesses for God the Father how can we do that according to what Jesus preaches in this piece of Scripture? Question 3: "You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me;" --John 5:39 What is Jesus describing here? How can we bring God into our reading of the Scriptures on our own time? Jesus makes it clear that He is a witness to God the Father and that John is also a witness to God the Father. These two men took this witness so seriously that they literally gave their lives to God (Jesus is God but He still modelled this type of Christian living). How can we make sure that we are being True Witnesses of Jesus Christ? This week we will discuss what it means to be a witness and how we can model that in our everyday lives living under the King of Kings. Scriptures Referenced: Radshack, Meshack, Abednego and the furnace. Daniel 3:16-28 Jesus discusses witnesses in the New Testament: Matthew 18:19-20 If you have any questions please email us @ info@enrichregina.com or text 306-850-0429. Read John 5:1-17 Two weeks ago, Josiah Flaman, asked the question at the beginning of His sermon that we may have always asked ourselves when thinking about Jesus. Question 1: Why did Jesus heal so many people? What is the purpose of Jesus performing these healings and why are we still so fixated on these healings as modern followers of Christ? As the book of John continues it points to another healing in Bethesda where a man follows the commands given by Jesus—He becomes healed and can walk again but the religious priesthood is upset. Why are they upset? Question 2: Why is the religious priesthood upset? (Read the passage) Why is it a big deal that Jesus performed this miracle on the Sabbath? Lastly, Jesus makes an interesting comment. In John 5:14 Jesus says “Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.” Is Jesus implying that the man’s sin made Him sick? This command almost comes across as a threat. Yet, it reveals to us the character of Jesus and How much He dislikes sinful behaviour. Question 3: What do you think Jesus is saying when He says “Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you?” To end this devotional read the next section of scripture, John 5:18-24, read this portion of scripture repeatedly over the next week. Think about what Jesus is doing here when it comes to leadership, authority and equality with God the Father. Jesus is a bold teacher, supernatural, One Hundred Percent Man and One Hundred Percent God—this scripture continually reveals Jesus’ supreme authority over His creation. T his is the Sermon from our Sept. 29th Faith Gathering: We are learning about Jesus’ pursuit of hope in hopeless situations. We will be reading the story of the woman at the well. Read John 4:1-9 Question 1: Why is it strange for Jesus to encounter the woman at a well, at that time of day and all alone? What does this tell us about the woman? What does this tell us about Jesus? Read John 4:10-18 Question 2: Why do we often try to avoid conversations that bring up pain on our lives? How do you usually respond when someone brings up a hard topic? Why do you think Jesus was willing to talk about hard things with this woman? Read John 4:19-26 Question 3: Jesus is focused in his pursuit of revealing truth to the Samaritan woman, even when she is avoidant and confused. Why do you think Jesus wanted to reveal the truth about Himself to this woman? What does it tell us about Jesus’ character? Read John 27-30 Question 4: The woman is used by Jesus right then and there to share the gospel. Do you think Jesus can use you in the midst of your own disappointment? Do you think you need to act a certain way in order to be used by Jesus? What ways has Jesus revealed Himself to you in seasons of disappointment? This is the testimony he gives before He is arrested and killed. It solidifies his ministry that started at the beginning of this book. John is baptizing people for one reason: To bring people to Jesus so that they can turn from their sinful nature to Jesus’ perfect truth and grace. John is proclaiming the Lordship of Jesus and directly tying the “Son” to God “The Father” in this testimony. This is repetition compared to the beginning of John as the apostle John (the author) wrote, “He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe though him. He was not the light…”—John 1:7-8 Further Instruction for the Bridegroom: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.” Ephesians 5:25-26 “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven” — John 3:27 “He must increase, but I must decrease. He who comes from above is above all…” John 3:29 The Offering of Isaac —“Abraham called the name of that place The LORD will provide, as it is said to this day, ‘In the mount of the Lord it will be provided.” Genesis 22:14 “Vanity of Vanities,” says the Preacher, “Vanity of vanities! All is vanity.” —Ecclesiastes 1:2 “That which has been is that which will be, and that which has been done is that which will be done. So is there anything new under the sun.” — Ecclesiastes 1:9 Everything on Earth belongs to God—this is God’s, not ours. We must serve our master as His bridegroom and submit to Jesus’ order, rules, commandments in order that we can become holy and blameless. It is only HIM who can make us blameless.
