It was a great conversation about her journey, starting with the dreams of a kid to landing in the corporate world, going all-in on business school, and navigating entrepreneurial waters. What I loved most was hearing about the lifelong friends who are contributing to her vision.

Born in Uganda, she was first inspired for international work while be a part of a welcome parade of OAU (Organization of African Unity). Margaret has dedicated her life journey to fighting the injustice of human trafficking. Hear about Margaret’s experiences and her time in Ghana, UK, Thailand, Austria, and Ethiopia. She’s an inspiration and has given me a new perspective on how one person can make a difference with the dreams they have been given.

James Troup, a former IT Manager turned Actor is on a success journey that is all his own. Recorded in August 2020, James and I actually spent 2 hours together giving our different experiences growing up discussing how we see the world. We actually went to the same church and secondary (middle) school growing up, so we had a lot of touch points. James grew up in a 2 parent home in the “projects” and but with a global education, and love from his parents which opened many doors of opportunity him.
James had a successful IT career for 25 years, but after being in a deep depression for over 2 years found his calling in acting.
Part 1 talks growing up, the education system he and I experienced and how he found his way in the corporate world.
Part 2 reviews a small part of that corporate transition, gets more into our perspectives on racism in the United States and James’s transition into acting.

I knew that my conversation with Ted Earp, a military officer from rural midwest USA, now living in France, would be a great way to relieve my anxiety and to start to help people understand me and my perspective.
Ted grew up 150km (90 miles) from me, we are the same age. Other than our different races and the single parent home I grew up in later in life, we had very similar circumstances. When we met 3 years ago when he trespassed on my property at our apartment complex (I forgive you, Ted), I knew there was something familiar about him. Today, living in Europe, we can look back at our experiences with education, race, and culture to see how our perspectives have changed.

In a recent interview with Roshini Cope, Creator and Coach at Glamazini.com, she reminded me of a quote: "You need to be yourself, because if you’re not how are the people who need to hear you, going to find you?"
Roshini took me through her story of making choices that everyone around her told her were safe, only to spend her life "trying to back out" of those decisions, and begin to take agency over herself. Embracing her authenticity helped her create a dynamic career as a content creator and life coach, and to appreciate her natural beauty. Most of all, it gave her grounding to embrace her "hardest and best work" in raising a son with spina bifida.
Whether personal or professional, embracing your authenticity brings connection to those who need you, and freedom to live according to your passions.
