In this episode we dive into using story telling in emails can create a sales machine for any online business. For the last 20 years Bill has been using his copywriting skills to help coaches, consultants, and other businesses sell more through story telling. Specifically we talk about using email marketing combined with being interesting to help sell more products.
Bill said "everybody is so obsessed with subject lines and they are important because that's the only way they're going to open, right. But if you consistently write entertaining, interesting emails, you're going to open it because the person is sending it. Not what's in the subject line." Basically, you, you don't need to be a master storyteller. You just need to be someone who's kind of interesting and different.

In this episode Vernon shares his story of learning how to be comfortable within himself and not trying to show up as anyone else besides the best version of himself. We talk about how growing up without his father impacted his view on life and where he would derive mentorship from. Vernon also provides some strategies anyone can use for more mindful living from his latest book 'The 7 Laws of Mindful Living'.
Building a bridge between worlds, people, and cultures through leveraging technology, the spoken word, and the pen, Vernon T. Foster II is no stranger to adventure and defying convention. When the world valued specialization, he sought to become a generalist. Vernon opted to treat his 20's and early 30's as an experiment for building skills and honing his personal philosophy. Little did he know nor envision that his lifestyle would serve as a catalyst for creating a global movement and framework that would inspire others to follow suit. His work has been featured at Entrepreneur, General Assembly, The Good Men Project, and Podcast Movement.

Any entrepreneur will tell you that coming up with ideas is easy. What's hard is knowing if those ideas will turn into profitable businesses. This is where Kyler Graff has excelled in his journey of entrepreneurship and he has some incredible lessons to share if you are trying to get started in business.
Kyler started his first business at the age of 10 by solving one of the most common problems any pet owner will face, poop. When he started mowing lawns he also realized that many homeowners with pets needed help cleaning up after their dog's messes. Offering both lawn care and pet waste removal (that's a technical term for it) he was able to make more money from each customer and they were happy to have both problems solved. This concept would serve him well in future years when he launched his residential painting company.
Even with technology changing at a rapid pace every business will still need to validate an offer before committing too many resources into a new venture. Kyler shares how he proves if a business idea will work before getting too deep in the backend of the business as he calls it. Listen in and take notes because this episode could quiet literally save you hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars in your next venture.

The most incredible opportunity in investing isn't in housing it's in digital real estate. Do you remember playing Monopoly the board game? If so this episode will open your eyes to the world of building digital assets just like putting a hotel on Park Place.
Online business is becoming the new gold rush and digital assets are a real thing. What if I told you that an entrepreneur with a passion for golf was able to build a website that later turned into 2 million members in a paid community. Then that digital asset was acquired by the Golf Channel and NBC sports for an undisclosed amount of money, likely surpassing $100 million. Now that is the kind of digital real estate I would invest in.
Digital real estate isn't created overnight, it takes three core components that I share in this episode. I encourage any entrepreneur who wants to build a digital asset listen to this episode.

Andy is a creative director, director and co-founder of video agency Swhype, based in the UK.
With a fascination in film, after studying for a degree in graphic design, he moved to London to become a freelance runner and production assistant, before falling into the women's magazine industry after taking some freelance work. He quickly moved his way up from designer of a teen mag to Creative Director of Cosmopolitan (UK).
Meanwhile Andy kept his foothold in the film world by hosting indie-film events, a video podcast and a mobile film festival called Cannes in a Van, with eventual sponsorship from Ford.
In 2010 he left the publishing world to follow his dream of starting his own business – at first design and web- focused, then co-founding a 'creative motion agency’, providing animation and live-action video for brands and businesses.
Andy’s interest in personal and professional development began while running the company as a way to manage the increasing workload that running a business brings. With no background in business he learned from the ground – this hunger for business learning led to the Scwair1 project – an initiative that explores how to start and grow a business from scratch in 2020 and beyond, from a new perspective.
He currently runs a co-mentoring mastermind called The Mentor Exchange and hosts a podcast called Video Talks for creators, marketers and business owners who want to improve their video capabilities. He is also launching his own personal brand as The Creative Video Coach.

Most entrepreneurs start a business because they want to be their own boss or put another way, they want to be the captain of their own ship. Autonomy is one reason why I started my entrepreneurial journey. Unfortunately I've lost my way and have slipped away from what truly fuels me and provides a sense of purpose. In 2021 I'm getting back to what provides me with Autonomy, Mastery, and Purpose and I hope this episode inspires you to do the same.

What if you knew exactly the pain points of your ideal customer? Would this make it easier to create your offer and sales page with them in mind?
Your ideal customers are wanting solutions to their problems and they don't want to wait. The human brain is hard wired to protect it's self and family first...you might call that selfish. When you sell products and services online it is critical to understand what your customers want and make it clear why they should buy now. In this episode I share how five online business owners are selling their services to selfish customers and why you should be too.

Amy founded Pause to Remember after experiencing the most painful moment in her life and now hopes to help others. She is a certified yoga teacher and CRNA (nurse anesthetist) at a Level 1 trauma center. Little did Amy know the impact yoga and meditation would have when her daughter was stillborn in September 2016. The mindfulness practices helped her soothe her mind, body, and spirit while grieving.

In this 4-Part series called What Every Online Business Owner Needs To Know I will be covering 4 key components of an online business that every business owner must understand before outsourcing these tasks. In this episode I cover the most important aspects of email marketing and automation. When every online coach is telling you to grow your email list I'll explain why you should remove subscribers and how it can help you get higher open rates which leads to more sales. We will also explain how to use email marketing templates and the common mistakes online business owners make when using services that are intended to save you time and money.
Automation sounds great but what is actually required to create time saving business processes that work on their own? Do you know how custom fields can improve your automations and customer experience? These questions and more are shared in this episode of The Curious Hero Podcast.
In this 4-Part series called What Every Online Business Owner Needs To Know I will be covering 4 key components of an online business that every business owner must understand before outsourcing these tasks. With so many options for hosting and building a website it is important to know what actually delivers results for your business. Listen to this episode to hear the best practices of website hosting, landing page features, and why your page load time is more important than the font you want to use.
See the website tools I recommend and use in online business.
In this episode, we talk about empowering yourself in your online business. I share how a traumatic event in my childhood would play a key role in how I learned online business best practices. Most small business owners have experienced the feeling of regret when hiring someone to manage key aspects of their online business. Is this you, do you wish you knew more so you wouldn’t feel like you’re giving away so much power in your business? I will share how you can get more control of your online business and become empowered for when you’re ready to outsource again.
If you are an aspiring online entrepreneur or someone looking to get a fresh perspective on your business I want to invite you to become a member of The Journey. Consider The Journey as your apprenticeship in online business. The best part is we are starting from scratch and you can be a part of the community that is looking to do the same. I will be donating 50% of the sales from The Curious Hero Journey to Operation Underground Railroad.
In today's episode of Tom's Tips I share the best practices of setting up tracking on your websites so you can improve sales and the customer experience. Joining me for this conversation is one of my students, Todd Hart. Todd was asking a bunch of questions about how to track who visits his website and what data we can capture from them. We will dive into understanding how customers are tracked online, what tools are used, and how to use this to improve advertising results.
Tom's Tips episodes are designed to make online business simpler by providing quick tips to improve your marketing, automation, website design, advertising, and much more. This episode is a bit longer than normal but it is filled with gold if you listen to the details.

Tom's tips episodes are designed to make online business simpler by providing quick tips to improve your marketing, automation, website design, advertising and much more. In this episode we will discuss templates that are designed to make your websites and emails easier to create, but don't work. The majority of online businesses use templates of some sort to build either their webpages, email campaigns or ads yet most are not seeing positive results. The problem is that templates should be used as a starting point but instead most businesses don't customize them to fit their business which is hurting sales. Learn the simple yet highly effective changes you can make to your webpages and emails that will deliver more sales and less confusion.
I encourage you to look at how you use templates in your business and apply some of the tips I provide in this episode. It wouldn't surprise me if you began to see more sales from the same emails just using the 3 key components of a good email shared in this show. If this helped I would love to know, reach out to me on Instagram @tompolifka.
