While this podcast was meant to carry on with our countdown of the songs of the 60s included in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of all Time, a total revamp of that list has given us the opportunity to take measure and continue exploring other great music from the sixties. Featuring Ohio Express, The Doors, Fontella Bass, Nancy Sinatra, Spanky and Our Gang and a stack more.
We continue our countdown of all 196 songs from the sixties that are included in the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. This week, we hear brilliant tracks from artists such as The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Bob Dylan, The Shangri-Las and two more Motown tracks written and produced by that powerhouse of the label, Holland-Dozier-Holland.
In 2010, iconic Rolling Stone magazine updated its 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list. In that list was a total of 203 songs from the 1960s! That's 39.2 per cent. In this podcast, we start the countdown of all those 196 songs.
