We always talk about Walt Disney World, but it's always fun to check in on the Happiest Place on Earth. We're joined by Jungle Cruiser, aka Cory, from Beyond the Railroad Podcast who brings us some news from Disneyland.
We'll of course start with his dream Disney job before talking about the Haunted Mansion, Tiana's Bayou Adventure and of course Halloweentime at Disneyland. After that we'll talk about some of the fan led events like Dapper Day, Tikiland day and the event Cory has been to, Adventureland Day. These are fun events put together by fans that work with the park to enjoy these events. We'll hear about the activities and the camaradarie involved in this event.

This week, we're joined by @julia_hartlaub, a Photopass Photographer and friend of the show to discuss her experience in the Disney College Program and how she turned that into a career at the Magic Kingdom.
As we've been doing, we'll start by hearing from some listeners about their Disney dream jobs before hearing Julia's Disney Dream Job
Now a Disney Photopass Photographer working at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Julia gets us started by discussing her background with Disney, how a cast member created some simple magic for her at the age of 9 and hooked her to wanting to work in a Disney Park.
We quickly dive into how she went from her first stint, to her second and then why she came back for her third run as a DCP cast member. After that third stint, she turned that into being a regular cast member and began working in Photopass. Along the way we'll get to hear where she hopes to go within the company along with how she will get there. Julia gives some great tips regarding some of the ways Disney helps you advance your career while explaining how her day to day job is completed.

Bryan is joined by Tammy to discuss our Mount Rushmore of Walt Disney World. But first we start by covering the D23 Fan Event, we talk about the news for Walt Disney World. We talk about the new Nighttime parade for the Magic Kingdom, give our thoughts about Cars taking over the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island and the excitement of the new Villains land beyond Big Thunder Mountain. We then discuss what will be replacing Dinoland, we're excited for the Casita from Encanto and the Indiana Jones ride taking the place of Dinosaur.
Once done with that, we move into our Mount Rushmores of Walt Disney World, we cover the categories of Rides, Resorts and Restaurants. We'll talk about how the Contemporary, the Polynesian, Space Mountain and Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway all fit on our different Mountains. We'll talk Chef Mickey, the Kilimanjaro Safari and Wilderness Lodge. It's a fun conversation and we'd love to hear your Mount Rushmore. It's possible that Disney is looking to build more hotel resorts on the Walt Disney World property. With that in mind, we take a look at some possibilities of what type of resorts they could build. There is land near the Magic Kingdom for building. Does that mean another resort like the Polynesian Resort or will they add their first value resort like Art of Animation or maybe a moderate resort like Port Orleans French Quarter? We'll discuss that and the ideas we have for a new resort. Maybe it's a Beauty and the Beast theme or even Encanto. How about a Frozen or maybe Moana themed resort. Finding a place to relax in Walt Disney World can sometimes be a challenge. We talk about our top spots to relax and get away from the crazy crowds. We start with a couple of great spots in your resort, whether staying in the Disney's Contemporary Resort or Disney's All Star Resorts we have some great spots for you, and then move to the parks, In the Magic Kingdom, we talk about where on Tom Sawyer Island you can get away from crowds. We then have some great spots in Epcot where you can even get a ride with Donald Duck or search for hidden Mickey's while relaxing. We finish up in Animal Kingdom where you can enjoy something to eat and get away from the busyness of the park. We provide spots to watch the character flotillas or maybe where to hang out at Tambu Lounge. This week, we take your comments and ideas as we imagine a new country in Epcot's World Showcase. We already have 11 countries, but there is room to add more. We take a look at what those could be. Maybe Spain or Taiwan? What would they look like and would you include characters or a ride? Animal Kingdom is adding a Tropical Americas section and has some countries represented. What could we do that the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom doesn't already have?
We start with a possibility of Russia but quickly move to Australia, imagine the sounds of didgeridoos and the Outback! We then dive into the thought of Brazil, with its amazing Carnivale celebration and an Amazon River ride. Then we look at India, with the thought of the Jungle Book being front and center along with Bollywood and the unique flavors of Indian food. Of course we take a tangent about funding and whether Epcot should have IP involved in their countries. We love reimagineering and creating new ideas for the parks and can't wait to hear what you think!

Bryan and his daughter Mia run down their experience at Whispering Canyon Cafe. We start by discussing what we did to get to the Wilderness Lodge from the Polynesian Resort. Taking a Lyft definitely helped with this experience. We then talk about the tremendous lobby at the Wilderness. We talk about visiting the Carolwood Pacific room and looking for Hidden Mickeys while we waited for our table. Its such a great resort with many things to occupy you while waiting.
We finally sit down at our table and discuss the shenanigans from the wait staff, the ketchup, the large sodas and eventually get around to the breakfast skillets full of delicious typical breakfast food, but certainly the Mickey Waffles! We finish up with a birthday celebration and how we then moved on to the Animal Kingdom.
After our review, Mia goes rogue and wants to talk about Hoop dee doo revue. We discuss some of the fun we had at this experience and the food they served there.
Finally, Mia gets around to talking about Ohana and some of the experience we had at dinner. We'll cover the food, the ambience and that we were able to listen to Happily Ever After during dinner.

She shares some favorite moments from these roles. We hear about one child that needed some encouragement to be able to enter Hollywood Studios. We also get to hear about a great moment with a family while doing water art in Epcot. She's finishes up with some of her favorite celebrity sightings.
We then get into our Love it, Enjoy it, Destroy it: Magic Kingdom. We'll choose between Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We do our best with some cult classics - Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Jungle Cruise. We'll pick from some shows - Country Bear Jamboree anyone? And we'll also decide from some dark rides, like Peter Pan or Winnie the Pooh.

We had a great trip to Disney World in February. We learned a few things and we want to share it with you!
We start talking a out who we were touring with (a large group of 7) and the experience we had with that many people. We then discuss having a wheelchair in our group and how some attractions give a return time and others let you go through the queue. Jungle Cruise gave us a time to return to the lightning Lane, among other attractions.
Mykhailo talks about staying off property and his experience with those accommodations.

We've returned from Walt Disney World and we have some fun things to share. We start with some conversation of the type of trip we had and how everyone fit in. This was a trip originated by Tammy and Bryan with their two daughters and Tammy's mom coming along. With a stay at the Polynesian Resort, Mykhailo and Kristin come along and did their best to pretend they were staying there with us. We cover some of this dynamic before we get into the excitement of being evacuated from Pirates of the Caribbean!
While in the Magic Kingdom, we were able to get backstage when Pirates went down. It was a great experience and we get into the details of this neat happening. We end up including some of the other troubled ride experiences we had during the trip which leads Bryan and Mykhailo down a rabbit hole about the state of the rides in the parks.
We get into discussing some of the financials around Disney+ and the trouble they had with their movies and how this may be effecting the parks. A fun conversation that is one of those typical tangents that we like to go on.
We'll get into more of the trip on upcoming episodes, but definitely wanted to talk about Pirates of the Caribbean.

We then dive into the recent news around Universal Studios' Epic Universe. Will this push Disney to create a fifth park? Do you wish you could stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel for the rest of your life? We do! This week, we take a look at the Disney resorts we would love to live in forever, the resorts we would enjoy one fun night in and the one that we will destroy.
We start with the WDW's Value resorts and decide between the All-Stars, Pop Century Resort or Art of Animation. What will we love, enjoy or destroy? There is some interesting discussion here between Art of Animation and the All-Star Resorts. Pop Century seems to be the middle child here. We move on to the Disney's Moderate category and decide between Port Orleans, Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs. This discussion shows that we all have a favorite and we don't seem to agree.
We move into the Disney Deluxe Category next. We narrow it down to choosing between the Contemporary Resort, Polynesian Resort or the Grand Floridian Resort. This discussion is where the fun begins. We discuss fireworks views, the restaurants and the sights of these extraordinary resorts. Its hard to choose between these wonderful hotels, but we manage to find away.
Finally, we open the discussion up and talk about the three places we would choose if we didn't have limits. Would we still bulldoze the All-Stars, where would we choose to live the rest of our life? It gets a little off the rails, but we have a lot of fun discussing it!

The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular at Disney's Hollywood Studios is a fun experience that was almost an opening day attraction for the park. It seems to be ripe for a change and we thought we'd take a stab at what we could do with it. We'll each make our big pitch. Mykhailo wants to bring Cars Land to the space and we'll talk about what it would take to make that happen. Bryan thinks a Muppets themed dark ride would be a great addition to the park, but do the Muppets have enough interest to support a new attraction? We'll talk through it.
Once we've finished those discussions we'll take a look at what other Intellectual Property could fit in the space. We discuss the possibility of Rapunzel ride from Tangled. Or maybe a new show with Encanto. We also get into the history of how Tower of Terror and Alien Extraterrorestial was put into place as we figure out how to create an attraction without using IP.

Or how about If they were shutting down Rock n Roller Coaster with Aerosmith?
We also go on a couple of tangents. One about the Disney College Program and one about the history of Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Westcot. We even get into the ill-fated Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. Overall, we really find which rides are worth that one final ride.

We finish up our discussion of our couples trip discussing our Epcot day. We had a great time riding Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind for the first time together. We'll discuss strategies for Guardians. We also ate a ton of food during the Festival of the Holidays. Not only did we peruse the countries and food, but we also enjoyed Norway's Barn Santa, ate all the cookies and even dined at Garden Grill.
Eating at Garden Grill was essential to our evening event as we finished the night watching John Stamos narrate the Candlelight Processional. This was the highlight of the entire trip and it was great to relive that moment as we discuss it on the show.

We continue to look at how we did traveling together to Disney World.
As part of our Disney World trip in December, we spent our Saturday outside of a park and enjoyed Disney Springs during the day and a trip around the monorail loop during the evening.
We spent our day hunting down Christmas trees, enjoyed holiday fare and did some shopping. Did we make it to everything or did someone get upset? Did we make to California Grill in time for our dinner? Did we manage to visit the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian Resort?
We'll talk about these, review our food, discuss that animatronic at the Wilderness Lodge and what we enjoyed about this wonderful day that required teamwork and decision making among this group of four that hadn't yet traveled together. Finally, we'll get into how we managed, whether we upset someone and the lessons we learned along the way.

Being at the initial meetings that resulted in the creation of DCA, Topper has some terrific stories to tell. Remy's Ratatouille Adventure is the newest addition to Epcot and has recently been going through Passholder previews. This week, we are excited to be joined by Amanda and Albert, passholders that were able to partake in the preview this past Monday night! We cover their experience, how it went, and their reactions to the ride and the new area created in the France Pavilion. We also discuss some of the new merchandise for the attraction and La Creperie de Paris, the new restaurant created for this experience. We had a great discussion so come along and join us!
