Our guest today is Natan Verkhovsky. Born in the former USSR and immigrating to Calgary, Alberta Canada, with his family as a small child he started a more than 30 year journey into the Martial Arts.
From 15 to 16 years of age, Natan started and rose to be ranked #1 in his division, in Alberta, in the sport of Power Tumbling. He continued to use his Mental Training skills and pursued his education in Medical Hypnotherapy under the tutelage of Dr. Michael Preston, Director of the Institute of Medical Hypnotherapy, in Phoenix, Arixzona, USA.

Meet Dickie Longo. At 83 years young, he runs every day. An older brother, a husband, a father to 3 sons, and a grand and great grandfather to 9 beautiful kids, in his words, Mr. Longo is living the “perfect” life. Running has been at the center of it all. He has been running for over 70 years, which is hard to believe, because he doesn’t look a day over 60. He married his college sweetheart, a beauty queen. He says he married up, so he just kept running to keep up with her. Recently, the love birds celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Mr. Longo has won countless medals and awards in his long running career. 3 years ago, he celebrated his 80th birthday by running a 5K and winning his age group. To promote his mission of helping others and to show how running can save lives, he started the Longo Scholarship Fund and it’s extension the Do Unto Others Program. He is currently working on a book about his life journey and how running can help save our lives, to be published in January.

In 1978, Dr. Schaman set up the first private practice in Canada specializing in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine at his Breslau clinic, the Ontario Aerobics Centre. Since then, over 56,000 patients have undergone assessments and treatments at the clinic. Dr. Schaman offers a formal cardiac rehabilitation program focusing on exercise, education, diet modification and other components necessary to help cardiac patients recover and live a full and active life. Some of his sports medicine patients have ranged from professional athletes and Olympic medalists to weekend warriors and young hopefuls. He is believed to be one of first lifestyle doctors in the world, and the first in Canada.
