She blogged about several topics and one that she wrote a lot about is endurance challenges. It fell into place as the topic to write about as she realized she could entertain people with her personal stories of the challenges of running and also encourage them to run. The book became an instant success in running groups.
Dana's experience with her book has been a fun and rewarding experience, having appeared on TV, traveled the country and met other people in the fitness/encouragement world. She had also received messages from people telling her of their own personal journeys which she found very inspiring.

Join Jenn McRobbie, Vice President of The Author Incubator as she interviews author Jackie Viramontez on the writing and publishing of her book, I Can't Believe I Dated Him.
Before writing her book, Jackie didn't realize that what she had to say was enough. She was hounded be the tendency to be a perfectionist and it blocked what she truly wanted to say. But through meditation, she was able to envision her book completed even before she began writing and that was how it started.
Her topic for the book concerns relationships. She was able to pick one she liked by narrowing down a list of emotions that would arise in relationships. She settled for something that many of her clients find themselves in and where she herself had been in. "As soon as I created that personal connection, the creativity flowed," she admitted.
Finishing the book was a real accomplishment for Jackie because she had attempted to write at least 70 books in the past but failed to get any of them off the ground. Now she believes that if a goal (like writing a book) doesn't have a calendar date, it won't get done.

Join Jenn McRobbie, Vice President of The Author Incubator, as she interviews author Kimberly Benjamin on the writing and publishing of her book, Attorney by Day, Novelist by Night.
In writing her book, Kim realized that the important thing was what the finished book would mean for her readers. When she oriented herself that way and put herself in her readers' shoes, everything changed. So, instead of writing for herself, she began writing for her ideal reader - attorneys who write on the side or wish to get into writing but have essentially left their creative and expressive selves on a shelf somewhere.
Kim's passion for writing and helping others made it easy for her to see the book to completion. It's what allowed her to overcome the doubt, frustration, and anxiety that were hindrances to fulfilling her goal. Her publisher also helped a lot in keeping her focused on her readers.
Writing this book was a dream of Kim and realizing it became more fulfilling because of her landed role as a life coach who helped people live their dream life. Now it's her time to live her dream.

A realization came to her then, but it's not that she's afraid of death. It's more about the fears which had prevented her from living a life that's filled with possibilities and adventure.
She was able to break free from the fears that kept her from the life she deserved by letting go of them, breaking her own strict rules, and finally expressing herself. That was what made her an expert in writing the book, because it was all about her own life - stories from the past decade that are still fresh in her mind.

Join Dr. Angela Lauria as she interviews author Nicole T. Harcourt about the writing and publishing of her book, A Divergent Path: Reach Your Potential, Live with Soulful Purpose.
Nicole went into writing this book without having an idea of the right formula to follow. That only came when he editor kept repeating it into her consciousness and that resulted in the identification of the people she was writing for and thus was able to truly write for them like how she would talk to a friend over coffee. It was most helpful in a visual sense since Nicole's expertise is visualisation. It worked wonderfully for her, enabling her to finish the book as she had imagined it would be.
Still, writing the book wasn't a walk in the park because of a need to focus on the work and whittle down to the areas which made a lot of sense from a coaching perspective. Ultimately, she was able to write about the end result being how one feels at the end of the day and how success is all that matters.

Join Dr. Angela lauria of The Author Incubator as she interviews Maggie Huffman on the writing and publishing of two of her books, Whoops! I Forgot to Achieve My Potential and WTF?!? I Still Believe This Shit?
Maggie had a process that she was using in her coaching practice and she wrote Whoops! based on that. It's all about helping people to discover and achieve their potential. It prods the reader to answer the question, "Is it too late?" In her book, people will discover that the one stumbling block to achieving their potential was really the thing that they believe in. This idea became the inspiration for her other book, WTF?!? which dissects how people tend to hold on to beliefs that are outdated but are still driving their behavior in spite of the fact that the beliefs no longer serve their purpose.
Maggie enjoys being able to go into her books to a passage and quote herself. She finds that fun, but the true joy comes from the credibility the books have brought her and that's the best part of stepping into the shoes of a published author - something that she didn't experience by just being a writer.

"Although I did form the story 100% in my head, I ran out of steam half way through," he said beside the fact that it's a story that's very dear and personal to him. In order to complete the story, he jumped to the end and went backwards until he met himself in the middle.

Annie's Defiance is the third book of Nicole's Elemental Myths series, so the topic was pretty set even before she started writing the book. She simply focused on the motivations of her characters and the story tells itself, as she put it.
Inspired by ancient Incan culture, the book is a paranormal romance involving a prophecy and powers over the elements. She equates the time she devoted to writing the book to life energy spent wisely since being an author is her passion, first and foremost. For Nicole, there's this thrill in finishing a book, even when there's a system or structure to the process. She credits Difference Press for giving her lifelong habits that help to ensure that she can finish every book that she starts.

Rachel didn't start work on Woman Overboard until she was sure that she HAD a topic that HAD to be written, and it had to be written by HER. Those were the criteria and, lo and behold, the perfect topic did come to her and so the book was born.
Although it took two years for the book to be realized, Rachel said she just kept paying attention and allowed her own obsession to carry her through. "My passion was stronger than my resistance."
Woman Overboard is about managing conflict which the author believes is the root of what holds women back in leadership.
In the interview, Rachel also asks the qustion, "What if being 'good' is keeping you from being truly Great?" There's more about this on Healing for Good Girls.

Join Angela Lauria of The Author Incubator as she interviews Jill Angie, author of the book, Running with Curves.
Writing Running with Curves turned into something pivotal for Jill. She wrote the book that she wished had existed when she started running almost 20 years ago, which was when she did everything through trial and error. She wanted to help others in the same boat as she was to avoid all of the experimentation and just get right to enjoying being a runner regardless of size.
She said that if she had known how life- and career-changing it would be, she would have started earlier. "I thought I just wanted to be someone that had written a book - but along the way, I became much more in tune with where I wanted to take my career," she said.

But towards the end, she came to realize that there really was a message to her story.

So with this goal in mind, he chose to work with a traditional publisher because he needed a book that would sell widely, but not necessarily be his main source of income. He credits his publisher for the great marketing efforts they made for his book which he said he couldn’t have done on his own. Through their well-connected PR department, he was able to get publicity for his book in leading business magazines like Forbes, Inc., Time, and in Wall Street Journal. They also have a sales force that sells his books to all the bookstores in the country and even got his book sold to different publishers around the world. This made her realize that there may be a lot of other people struggling with the same issues and so she decided to write the book to get the message out even to those she doesn’t have an opportunity to meet and talk with.
For aspiring authors struggling to finish their book, Dr. Pham advises them to never give up and to just learn to enjoy the journey. As she puts it, “You start writing because you actually love writing but when you’re too focused on the result, you also get overwhelmed.”
