Henry Trinkle was one of the early settlers in the area we now know as LaCygne. Descendents of this family still make their home in the area today.
La Cygne has had library services of some kind for over 100 years. A group of ladies in town formed the first lending library. They became known as the Zeta Zeta club and by 1913 had raised funds and constructed the first official public library. That building still stands by the museum today and you can visit it.

Don Lutton came to town to help with the plant that was making tents for the War effort. He was a painter and painted huge murals which still survive in La Cygne today.
