Jump to the timestamps 👉 03:13 Voice Search 10:03 Chatbots and AI 13:40 Machine learning and personalization 24:03 Video 31:29 AR and VR, 360 videos

See a quick summary of this episode: 1. Voice Search Almost one-third of the 3.5 billion searches performed on Google every day are voice searches now, with personal assistant devices leading the way. According to Search Engine Land, here’s how people use voice search – for general information (30%), as a personal assistant (27%), for local information (22%), and for fun and entertainment (21%). --- How will this influence website design? The average voice search result is about 29 words long, something every website has to remember. Making your website mobile-friendly, using video descriptions and Schema markup.

  1. Chatbots and AI According to Grand View Research, the global chatbot market is reaching $1.2 billion with a 24 percent annual growth rate. 45% of end-users prefer using them as a primary mode of communication in customer service. It’s estimated that in the next 5 years, approximately 80% of business communications with customers will be performed through bot messengers. 2. Machine learning and personalization

-- By the year 2025, the global artificial intelligence market is expected to be almost $60 billion; in the year 2016 it was $1.4 billion (Source: Accenture) -- Global GDP will grow by $15.7 trillion by the year 2030 thanks to artificial intelligence. (Source: MIT) -- Artificial intelligence can also increase business productivity by up to 40%. (Source: MIT) -- Artificial intelligence startups grew up to 14 times over the last two decades. (Source: Accenture) -- Investment in artificial intelligence startups grew 6 times since the year 2000. (Source: MIT) -- Already about 77 percent of the smart devices we use feature one form of artificial intelligence or another. (Source: Accenture) -- Cyborg technology will help us overcome physical & cognitive impairments. (Source: MIT) -- Google analysts also believe that next year, 2020, robots will be smart enough so that mimic complex behavior of humans like flirting and jokes. (Source: Accenture)

  1. Video-content

Live video feeds will continue to explode, but the important aspect going forward will be originality. Interactive video and imaginative video marketing that encourages user engagement will quickly outpace video for the sake of moving pictures. Consumers become bored quickly — brands that use video to engage and excite users will win.

Adding a video to an email boosts click-through rate by a staggering 200–300 percent, and putting one on a landing page increases conversion rate by 80 percent (HubSpot)

  1. AR or VR The Technology Available to Web Designers: AR for web design has come along in leaps and bounds thanks to the dawn of compatible plug-ins such as WordPress VR, which allows designers to upload 360 videos onto WordPress sites. Similarly, Google Maps, Streetview and Google Earth can all support plug-ins with the abovementioned Google VR view.
