Real fun show this week as we welcomed Lauren Strange & Drew Creal from Lauren Strange & the Pretty Killers into the studios to play us a couple live tracks as well as a set of her favorite loud tracks. We start the show off with a few songs that meant a lot to us this week, music so important all the time but amazing how personal a song written by someone you may have never met can feel at a given time and place, one of the reasons we love doing what we do so much, never know when you'll hear something that will just resonate so powerfully and you can carry that with you as long as you need it. Real treat on this episode as we had a blast hanging out in the studio and getting to hear Lauren play some new songs off a forthcoming recording in powerful acoustic fashion right here in our studios. We also talk about some of the best live performers she's seen and just how fast Drew can set up a guitar, so stick around, go see your local bands live, and turn it up!

Good times abound this week, as we had the local Nashville band, and friends of ours, the Chewers live in the studio. We get into some of their newer recordings, some goofy talk, and they play 3 songs live and in person. Small studio session live over the radio mics, pretty fun, raw stuff you won't hear anywhere else (unless of course you were tuned in when it happened). So come and get it, it's Loud & we love it, so use some decent speakers if you've got em, the mix ain't exactly pro, but it's live radio coming at you from those raw fringes, cool stuff. If you want the live stuff, check the playlist for when it comes on, and if you're braver, enjoy 2 full hours of late nite rockin.

Who's gonna win this weekend, the Stackers or the Peelers? Jim Morrison and the Commodoors of Perception? It's a real special episode this week, as we were lucky enough to have the legendary R. Stevie Moore in studio with us to talk everything from Nashville to New Jersey, home recording and DIY, to free-form radio and the major role he played in it as an on-air DJ back in the very early days of New Jersey's famed WFMU 91.1. Not only talk though, as R. Stevie Moore and Mr. Roger Ferguson played live and acoustic a bunch of tracks, including material from the upcoming album being worked on right now. Trust us, you don't want to miss this episode. R. Stevie Moore has roughly umpteenbillion albums to his name, most home-recorded and produced and published to cassette by himself and his own label, and really kicked off the DIY ethos that was to gain so much traction later on when the punk movement hit in the early 70s, and today with the decline of major label music and the onset of tons of self-published album through ProTools and GarageBand, Audacity and the internet and the like. R. Stevie Moore was doing it without the tools consistently since the 60s, only now you'll see more albums on CD than Cassette tape. His vinyl albums are still much sought after and hard to come by, and his work on WFMU really set the tone for free-form as something to aspire to. But most importantly, it's an interesting and fun 2 hours of good times and talk, and great music, including these live in studio performances from a once, and current, Nashville local.
