You’re listening to More Than Capable: a podcast I decided to create with my sister where we could discuss all things disability. To give you an idea of who we are... I’m Fiona and Marinda is my sister and we both happen to have the same rare form of muscular dystrophy. We were diagnosed when I was 18 and Marinda was 22. As a result we have a lot of stories to tell about the bullshit that comes with life as a person with a disability.
This week we talk about black eyes and imposter syndrome. It doesn't matter who you are, this "fake it till you make" mentality get's to all of us. We either feel like we don't deserve an accomplishment we've worked for or we don't deserve to feel pain because of insane comparisons. I hope you enjoy our frustrations with this stuff.
A common challenge with having a physical disability happens with with outside interactions. There is a right and wrong way to interact and help out, this week we wanna talk about when people get it right!
