Open adoption is a love story between parents on both sides for the sake of the child. Some of these stories will make you laugh, some will make you cry sad and happy tears. You will also hear stories of trauma and tragedy, but in the end this Podcast is to educate you on why it is so important for children to know their birthparents and get rid of the stigma of adoption, as well as open your hearts and minds.
We are discussing a case regarding a missing baby. Elizabeth Johnson has spun many tales about where Gabriel is. It has been over 12 years and no sight of him. She claims she gave him to a family in San Antonio, Texas.

Today we talk about Colin Kapernick and the things he is saying about growing up in an all white family. We will also discuss why open adoption plays such a huge role in this. Also, why adoptive parents should go through education and continuing education so they can know how to best deal with situations that may arise in an interracial adoption. This is all out of love and we want to educate and encourage everyone to be able to tell their stories.

Roe V. Wade has been overturned. What does that mean to you? Here at The Open Adoption Option, it means we have choices we must live with, but there are resources. As a birhmother, a woman who has had an abortion and as an adoptee (sort of), abandoned, more like it. I am speaking from all point of views. What we don't know does hurt us.

Cat is a birthmother who placed not once, but twice. Listen to her story, as she hid both of her adoptions from family and friends for fear of the shame and repercussions. This is what the stigma of adoption does to not just birthmother's, but all those involved. We need to start the conversation somewhere.
