  • The Protagonist.

  • Their goal.

  • The antagonistic force. 

  • Inciting incident (optional). 

Tips:

  • Highlight the irony of the story. 

  • Put the stories stakes into the logline.

  1. Looking at a classic story, or story type, from a new angle.

  2. Combining genres.

  3. Think about what would happen if the protagonist of a movie died early on

  4. The point of view of a villain.

  5. Take classic stories and put them in a new time period.

  6. Think about a story that takes place before, or after another movie.

  7. Stories in a single location.

  8. Read news stories.

  9. Think about your own life/your own problems

  10. Build your story around a theme you want to explore

  11. Build the Story around a good character

  12. Public Domain books and movies.
