It's bittersweet to be wrapping up season 3 of Joy Unseen. Thinking back to when we started this podcast amidst the chaos of 2020 and reflecting on how far God has brought both of our families is overwhelming. We hope you felt seen, challenged, and encouraged over the course of the last 23 episodes. We're gearing up for season 4 and we cant wait to be back with you. Local Missions Director, Mother of 3, Wife of Ugandan Doctor, and incredible woman and friend, Maegan Gahima joins us on the podcast this week to share about her powerful testimony of how she ended up on the mission field in Uganda. She shares how she met her husband, how they ended up back in the United States, and just her overall heart for missions. In this episode, Stephie joined her church in doing a 21 day fast and fasted from social media. She decided to document her thoughts along the journey by taking voice memos throughout the process. She learned a lot and reflected on the whole experience once it was over. It didn't go how she thought it would, and shares those raw thoughts along the way. Enjoy their precious little voices and your heart will melt when they both are given the opportunity to say anything the want, and they both choose to tell you about God. Heart. Melted. Enjoy!
Stephie opens up and shares about her thoughts on the fact that she had a tubal ligation after the birth of her second child, her son Silas. It wasn't something done in haste in the first place, but she feels like the Lord has done a work on her heart and is just processing out loud. This past week, completely out of no where, Jaime had a heart wrenching incident occur with her precious daughter, Emerson. Despite the scariest of circumstances, God was present and has been providing strength for her and her family. Disappointment can be a small annoyance or a devastating heartbreak. In either scenario, it is important to know what to do with those feelings of pain. How should a Christian respond when things in life do not turn out the way we expected or wanted them to? We prayerfully considered how to make sure our focus is on what matters most to us, sharing the love of Jesus with others. In this search we came across the Biblical truth found in 2 Corinthians 4:18 that states, "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
